About the role
As Events Fundraising Manager (maternity cover), you'll be an experienced leader, managing the Events team of nine fundraisers. You'll be a strategic thinker, working on long-term growth strategies and ensuring delivery of in-year budgets.

About the Organisation

About the Role
As a Case-handler you will work as part of the team responsible for conducting the initial assessment process for complaints and for resolving complaints. This is a public-facing role with a varied and interesting caseload that involves extensive interaction with students and universities/colleges.
Full training will be provided and a mentor will be at hand to help support and help you understand the needs and demands of the role.
Responsibilities include:
- Determine whether complaints are eligible for review and communicate decisions to students;
- Request and obtain documentation and information from higher education providers, students and student representatives;
- Promote early resolution of cases by contacting students, student representatives and providers with a view to negotiating the early settlement of complaints;
- Provide effective guidance to students, student representatives and providers on the OIA’s case-handling process, possible remedies and typical timeframes;
- Conduct reviews of complaints, draft and issue Complaint Outcomes

In this role you will work across two services, our Newcastle Supported Housing and Personal Budget Service.
Working for our Newcastle Support Housing service you will support individuals aged 18 and upwards who have a mental health diagnosis to move into one of our tenancies helping them to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible, you will then meet with them each week to support them both emotionally and practically to develop life skills which enable them to sustain their tenancy and eventually move on to independent living.
This can include a number of tasks such as money management, managing bills, reporting repairs and supporting them to keep on top of the cleanliness of their property. You will support them with all aspects of the move on process. You will then support the team to get the property ready for our next move in. The individuals that we support though our housing service have multiple and complex needs, this can include a struggle with addiction or an offending history as well as other support needs.
In our Personal Budget Service you will support individuals aged 18 and upwards with a mental health diagnosis who have block hours of support and whose mental ill health is causing them concern and/or affecting their lives in various way. You will meet these individuals either in their own homes and out in the community and provide tailored support around areas that they currently struggle with to help them achieve their goals. The individuals that we support through this service live across Tyne, Wear and Northumberland.
We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us. But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone. That’s where you come in. Responsible for helping and inspiring the people who use our services to maintain their tenancy and independence in the community, we’ll rely on you to work with them to come up with a personal support plan that will see them achieve their goals and aspirations. Whether it’s developing their domestic and finance management skills or accessing work, leisure or educational opportunities, one thing’s for sure ‐ you will have every chance to shine.
No relevant experience is required as Full training will be provided, although candidates with an understanding of mental health issues and/or lived experience would be welcomed. More important is your caring and compassionate nature and empathy and enthusiasm for helping others. Whatever your background, you’ll need to be happy to work both independently and within a team traveling out in the community and have an ability to plan and prioritise your own case load with changing priorities each day.

Sitting within the broader Student Voice Department (alongside the Advice Team), you would lead a friendly, talented team of four permanent Student Voice Coordinators (SVCs) who together account for all of the Union’s policy, democratic, representation and campaigning work, alongside a part-time member of student staff.
Variety is hard-wired into the role. In addition to overseeing policy and research output, you would be responsible for leading a democratic and governance structure that is so innovative it is currently the source of an international academic study. Accountabilities here would include delivery of our biannual student elections and sector-leading Student Panels.
You would also be responsible for leading on how we support our elected student representatives and campaign groups; and for the Union’s academic representation work.
Given the breadth of work undertaken within the team, expect there to be plenty of opportunities to grow, develop and pick up new skills outside of the main responsibilities of the role.

With responsibility for leading on several projects, both within the team and cross-organisationally, prior project management experience and knowledge will be important, as will the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.

Key tasks and responsibilities
- Management of the project plan, including monitoring and updating of budgets, and referring any cost implications to the Director as appropriate
- Coordinating training and support for workshop leaders and volunteers to support the delivery of the I Shine, Speak Out project activities
- Support the smooth delivery of project objectives and production, and maintenance of project management documentation; working closely with internal and external stakeholders and decision makers
- Lead and coordinate project meetings with partners / young people
- Lead and coordinate the annual Survivors Can Shine Community event.
- Support the collection of information & evidence as part of project reporting requirements, including preparing drafts for completion and review

The Education team at the BSA is supportive, creative and innovative, and we care deeply about the work that we do.

Working on a variety of education-related projects and areas of work as required, example responsibilities include:

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans as part of the Partnerships Teams in the Midlands and East Region.
As the Senior Business Development Coordinator, you will lead on the coordination, and delivery of our business development work, with particular focus on bid writing, client facing product information and performance analytics.
You will provide essential support to our network development teams, design and engineering team, and our behavior change and engagement team, helping them identify and assess funding opportunities and writing funding proposals and competitive tenders, case studies and reports.

Key information
Location: 1st Floor, Moorland House, 116 Bark Street, Bolton. BL1 2AX.
Contract: Full-time (36.25hrs/week), permanent
Salary: £58-£60k per annum, depending on experience.
Annual leave: 22 days annual leave, rising with extended service to 27 days per year, plus statutory bank holidays.

Role Responsibilities:
As our new CEO, you will manage MhIST efficiently, effectively, and safely, aligning with our strategic aims. You will shape plans, ensure governance, and advocate for mental health, maximizing service impact. This role requires an empathetic leader to inspire a culture of learning, inclusion, and support. Collaborating with our Senior Leadership team, you will manage resources, finances, and operations, maintaining high standards. Supported by a committed Board of Trustees, you will work on strategic direction and financial sustainability.
Requirements:
Experience of working as a CEO or senior leader for a purpose-driven organisation
Genuine passion for our mission with a proven track record of successful business development/fundraising
· Demonstrable experience in governance and compliance
· Experience of building a culture that promotes continuous learning, inclusion, collaboration, and accountability
· Demonstrable experience as a values-led, resilient and people-centred leader
· Strong financial acumen
· Excellent communication and influencing skills
· Understanding of challenges affecting the voluntary sector
