The Ben Kinsella Trust is one of the leading anti-knife crime charities in the UK – the Trust exists to campaign against knife crime and to educate young people, helping them to make positive choices to stay safe.

In this role, you will be responsible for the Trust’s fundraising, aiming to raise ~£280,000 from a range of corporates, trusts and individuals. They see big opportunity in the corporate space, so experience of new business approaches will be key. You’ll devise and execute impactful engagement opportunities, including the Trust’s annual supporter event and a variety of challenge events. You won’t just manage these relationships—you’ll shape the future of Ben Kinsella’s fundraising strategy, working closely with the CEO and Deputy CEO to do so.

To be successful as the Head of Fundraising, you will need: 

• Significant experience of major donor, corporate or trusts and foundations fundraising (or equivalent transferrable skills).

• Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with a knack for building relationships across a range of stakeholders.
• Experience of developing a fundraising strategy
• Strong analytical mindset and approach

This is a hands-on finance position where you will be responsible for a small finance team, ensuring all financial processes and procedures are run efficiently and effectively to trial balance, to ensure the timely production of management reports for Trustee Boards. Summary job description

Mind in Enfield and Barnet is a fast-growing charity in North London providing much needed therapy, wellbeing support and advocacy services to people with mental health problems. 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Community Care Coordinators to support some of our most vulnerable users of emergency services. These roles have been developed to further support our service users alongside our statutory partners at North Middlesex NHS Foundation Trust Emergency Department, to increase their wellbeing, confidence, social integration, and independence.

The Communications Manager leads the development of our brand and public-facing messaging to engage our audiences in the global impact of the Award. A lot of people know NCT for our antenatal classes, and we want to continue to support as many parents and families as we can to access evidence-based information. But we are also much more than this. We are a charity that campaigns on the issues that matter to parents. We run breastfeeding and infant feeding support, provided by specialist counsellors. We run thousands of free community activities and events across the UK, led by our fantastic volunteers and peers. And we support women and families facing specific challenges, such as social isolation, feeding difficulties or poor mental health.

Our Hackney Parent Support project is commissioned by Hackney Council, to offer infant feeding support across the region in both community and hospital settings and parenting courses for families throughout the Hackney region. The support is delivered by staff and volunteer peer supporters.

We are seeking a capable Peer Supporter who will support parents at Homerton Hospital and at various community settings in Hackney. This role will mainly be based between Homerton hospital and out in the community (expenses will be reimbursed).

About the Role

You will be responsible for offering infant feeding support for parents within Homerton Hospital and the community. Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:

· Providing breastfeeding support to families on the wards at Homerton hospital and community settings within Hackney.

· Support in delivering inductions for volunteer peer supporters. 

· To report any concerns or additional support needs of women to the NCT management team and/or Infant Feeding Lead for referral onto partner agencies as appropriate.  

· To attend regular supervision/support sessions. 

· Having a good working knowledge and understanding of the local demographics in the Hackney area and ensuring all support is accessible and inclusive.

· Ensure that data collection and feedback is collected in a timely manner in an inclusive way.
You must have good communication skills and be able to build relationships and create a rapport with a wide range of people easily. This is a large project and covers multiple locations so you must be able to confidently prioritise your own work, be highly organised and able to work independently.

Being able to make decisions and respond appropriately to our staff, peer supporters and parents and other external stakeholders is essential, alongside good IT skills– including Outlook, Word and Excel – and you must have good attention to detail.
 
It is essential for this post that you undertake the training to become an NCT Breastfeeding Peer Supporter. This requires experience of giving breast milk. The training can be undertaken within your working hours.

The role is 21 hours per week which will be predominantly Monday to Friday within the working day, however, will include occasional evening and weekends. This role is mainly based at Homerton Hospital and at community settings across Hackney.

Role Overview:

The Fundraising Lead will play a pivotal role in driving Be Free Campaign’s community and partnership-focused fundraising initiatives. This role is centred on building relationships with individual donors, community supporters, and strategic partners to ensure sustainable growth and broaden Be Free Campaign’s impact on young people’s mental health. The ideal candidate will have experience in community engagement, partnership development, and securing individual donations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Community Engagement and Individual Giving:

• Build and nurture relationships with individual donors, maintaining regular communication and creating impactful engagement opportunities.

• Launch targeted campaigns aimed at attracting and retaining individual supporters.

• Partnership Development:

• Identify and secure partnerships with local businesses, community organisations, and other stakeholders to support Be Free Campaign’s mission.

• Manage and grow these partnerships, ensuring mutual benefits and sustained collaboration.

• Work closely with the communications team to raise awareness and visibility through joint initiatives with partners.

• Donor Stewardship and Communications:

• Create and manage a donor stewardship programme to ensure ongoing engagement and retention of donors.

• Develop donor communications, including impact reports, newsletters, and personalised outreach, to highlight Be Free Campaign’s work and inspire continued support.

• Plan and oversee small community events to engage local supporters and celebrate achievements.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a fundraising role within a charity or community-focused organisation, ideally with a focus on individual giving and partnership building.

• Relationship Building: Proven experience in cultivating relationships with individual donors and community partners.

• Communication: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to create compelling narratives that inspire and retain supporters.

• Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop innovative approaches to engage donors and community partners.

• Collaboration: Ability to work effectively across teams and engage volunteers in fundraising initiatives.

Desirable:

• Experience working with mental health or youth-focused charities.

• Familiarity with trauma-informed, preventative, and early intervention mental health practices.
