The Ben Kinsella Trust is one of the leading anti-knife crime charities in the UK – the Trust exists to campaign against knife crime and to educate young people, helping them to make positive choices to stay safe.
In this role, you will be responsible for the Trust’s fundraising, aiming to raise ~£280,000 from a range of corporates, trusts and individuals. They see big opportunity in the corporate space, so experience of new business approaches will be key. You’ll devise and execute impactful engagement opportunities, including the Trust’s annual supporter event and a variety of challenge events. You won’t just manage these relationships—you’ll shape the future of Ben Kinsella’s fundraising strategy, working closely with the CEO and Deputy CEO to do so.

To be successful as the Head of Fundraising, you will need:
- Significant experience of major donor, corporate or trusts and foundations fundraising (or equivalent transferrable skills).
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with a knack for building relationships across a range of stakeholders.

- Strong analytical mindset and approach

A lot of people know NCT for our antenatal classes, and we want to continue to support as many parents and families as we can to access evidence-based information. But we are also much more than this. We are a charity that campaigns on the issues that matter to parents. We run breastfeeding and infant feeding support, provided by specialist counsellors. We run thousands of free community activities and events across the UK, led by our fantastic volunteers and peers. And we support women and families facing specific challenges, such as social isolation, feeding difficulties or poor mental health.
Our Hackney Parent Support project is commissioned by Hackney Council, to offer infant feeding support across the region in both community and hospital settings and parenting courses for families throughout the Hackney region. The support is delivered by staff and volunteer peer supporters.
We are seeking a capable Peer Supporter who will support parents at Homerton Hospital and at various community settings in Hackney. This role will mainly be based between Homerton hospital and out in the community (expenses will be reimbursed).
About the Role
You will be responsible for offering infant feeding support for parents within Homerton Hospital and the community. Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:
· Providing breastfeeding support to families on the wards at Homerton hospital and community settings within Hackney.
· Support in delivering inductions for volunteer peer supporters.
· To report any concerns or additional support needs of women to the NCT management team and/or Infant Feeding Lead for referral onto partner agencies as appropriate.
· To attend regular supervision/support sessions.
· Having a good working knowledge and understanding of the local demographics in the Hackney area and ensuring all support is accessible and inclusive.
· Ensure that data collection and feedback is collected in a timely manner in an inclusive way.
You must have good communication skills and be able to build relationships and create a rapport with a wide range of people easily. This is a large project and covers multiple locations so you must be able to confidently prioritise your own work, be highly organised and able to work independently.
Being able to make decisions and respond appropriately to our staff, peer supporters and parents and other external stakeholders is essential, alongside good IT skills– including Outlook, Word and Excel – and you must have good attention to detail.
It is essential for this post that you undertake the training to become an NCT Breastfeeding Peer Supporter. This requires experience of giving breast milk. The training can be undertaken within your working hours.
The role is 21 hours per week which will be predominantly Monday to Friday within the working day, however, will include occasional evening and weekends. This role is mainly based at Homerton Hospital and at community settings across Hackney.

You will lead the development of policy and advocacy briefings and materials, working with the Research and Insight team to ensure our briefings are informed by topical, robust evidence, and with Communications colleagues to bring our advocacy narrative to life across our communications.
You will plan impactful strategic country visits and engagement in multilateral spaces, working closely with stakeholders in the ‘Big 6’ youth organisations, National Award Operators and diplomatic contacts to plan targeted engagements that can help shift the dial on support for non-formal education and learning at a global and country level. You will lead on briefing for Foundation and country representatives to equip them as effective advocates around these engagements.
You will also actively support work to develop advocacy skills and programmes across the Award alumni community and National Award Operators, supporting the delivery of capacity-building training online and at global events.
Our long term ambition is that every eligible young person aged 14 – 24 will have the opportunity to participate in the Award.

MLC Partners are working with a leading health advocacy charity to recruit their new HR Officer. The position joins an organisation who are working with vulnerable people across the UK, giving them both support and advice to drive behaviour change in society. As part of a close-knit HR team supporting a head count of 50, the role will carry out generalist HR work across the charity and lead on the administration of the HR system.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Manage the full employee life cycle, including recruitment, contracts, onboarding, L&D and supporting line managers with leavers.
- Liaise with senior leadership with various HR requirements, on occasion delivering KPI and metric reports on the current change programme.
- Take a leading role in the maintenance and usage of the HR system, helping on payroll where necessary.
- Implement and maintain a L&D framework to drive personal development planning and work to improve internal progression.
The successful candidate will:
- As a minimum, be qualified to CIPD level 3, ideally studying towards level 5 – support is available for future qualifications.
- Be a clear communicator who is able to build positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Have worked in a SME HR team previously, either within the not-for-profit or commercial sector.

EXCITING BRAND NEW ROLE!
We are seeking a confident individual, ideally with lived experience of the Armed Forces life to manage all elements of volunteering for our Armed Forces Community project in the Northwest of England, as part of the "Thrive Together" Veterans' Places, Pathways & People Programme (VPPP) in the same region.
This is a part time home-based role with extensive travel, where required, across Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Cumbria. Hours are flexible to suit, but will be between Monday to Friday.
A mobile phone, laptop and training is provided. You will need to be a car driver and have access to a car which is essential (business mileage is paid).

This organisation is a community-focused international development and humanitarian charity based in North West London. It addresses poverty within the community and extends support beyond it. This organisation creates opportunities for unemployed individuals to achieve self-reliance, provides dignity for the elderly, assists refugees, and responds to international disasters. The charity is actively growing, so it needs extra support within the finance team. This is a hybrid role with 2 days required in the office per week. Working hours are 09:00 -17:30, with an early finish at 15:00 every Friday.
Your new role
- Reporting to the Finance Manager
- Invoice and payment processing - managing the entire invoice payment process, including receipt authorisation, and weekly payment runs in the finance system (Iplicit). Handle grant transfers to partners, setting up payments in Bankline.
- Expense management - Oversee staff expense payments and manage credit card processes, including monthly reconciliations for NatWest cards. Administer prepaid card processes, including requests, top-ups and reconciliations.
- Reconciliation tasks - Reconcile supplier payments and direct debits to the ledger. Ensure all bank accounts are reconciled against the cash book. Post monthly bank interest, charges, and fees to the ledger.
- Journal preparation - Prepare and post routine and month-end journals, including depreciation, accruals and prepayments. Ensure automated journals are run and posted correctly.
- Financial reporting and compliance - Complete month-end reconciliations and maintain supporting documentation. Maintain fixed assets and contract registers. Assist in preparing annual accounts and documentation for auditors.
- Cash management - Manage petty cash and foreign currency floats. Update the charity's monthly cash holding position as part of treasury management.
What you'll need to succeed
- Studying / part-qualified in a recognised accountancy qualification.
- Proven bookkeeping and financial accounting skills.
- Previous Finance Officer / Assistant Accountant experience in a medium-sized organisation.
- Experience of preparing month-end close.
- Strong Excel skills with excellent attention to detail.
