This is a new and exciting role at Crisis Skylight Birmingham to join a team of experienced and highly skilled staff supporting homeless people move into their own long term sustainable tenancies.
About the role
As Housing Procurement Officer, you will join our team in Birmingham at an exciting time, delivering an outstanding property procurement service across the private and social rented sector. Working alongside our team of lead worker coaches you will identify appropriate matches of tenants and homes. It’s a role requiring commercial acumen and creativity as you partner with both Social and Private landlords and our members. You will work collaboratively with partners, coaches and staff across the organisation to ensure tenants receive the support they need to sustain their homes and landlord relationships are nurtured. There is scope for development of the role and plenty of support. It’s a fantastic opportunity to make the role your own and shape it from the beginning.

About you
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following skills, experience and knowledge:

Experience of sourcing, procuring, and allocating accommodation and making tenancies work for tenants and landlords.

Knowledge of the Birmingham (and surrounding areas) housing market and the barriers and opportunities faced by people moving out of homelessness and into housing.

Job Purpose

Corporate Fundraising

Develop, implement, and sustain a dynamic corporate fundraising portfolio, maintaining a well-organised pipeline of funding opportunities.

Attend and contribute to networking events, while actively organising events to foster relationships with new and existing corporate donors.

Identify and pursue corporate funding opportunities by aligning proposals with companies' ESG policies, emphasising shared values and potential partnerships.

Establish and nurture relationships with Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) to unlock new support avenues.

Skills and experience:

Demonstrated ability to secure funds from new corporate partners, with experience in winning awards exceeding £10,000.

Your challenge will be to make sure each campaign builds strong supporter relationships and long-term commitment to Shelter. And, when it comes to helping deliver on our Individual Giving strategy, working with teams in IG to increase lifetime value of cash, regular giving, and lottery supporters, managing budgets or working on new products and propositions, again, we’ll count on you.
About you
Passionate about providing outstanding supporter experiences and face-to-face fundraising as a direct marketing channel, you’ll also need a real enthusiasm for motivating and teaching others about Shelter’s work. A proactive forward thinker, you have a keen eye for detail, are used to working in matrix teams, great at building relationships and a skilled communicator who enjoys sharing knowledge with others. What’s more, you’re a confident decision maker who’s eager to learn more about the F2F fundraising industry and Shelter as a whole.
Experience of face-to-face fundraising would be particularly useful, while an interest to learn more about project management and development is key. The Evaluation Officer role is a specialist post created to support the management, development and implementation of evaluation programmes across Alzheimer’s Society. The role is pivotal to promoting a culture of continuous improvement across all directorates. The post holder will support the Evaluation and Impact Team in the development and implementation of evaluation and impact measurement programmes for support services, influencing and research activities across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

Leading People’s Economy’s approach to training
- With support from the Programme Director, lead the development of People’s Economy’s approach to training and workshops to create an approach and set of standards to be applied across the organisation.
- Stay abreast of developments in training best practice across similar organisations and use this knowledge to further develop People’s Economy’s training approach.
