This is a critical senior role in the organisation, reporting to the CEO. The role is responsible for managing the organisation’s programmes across 3 locations in Sub Saharan Africa and South East Asia, managing 10 personnel. The position provides leadership on community-led investigations and evidence gathering and works closely with the Senior Management Team (SMT) on critical areas including fundraising and strategic development.   

The priority for this role is the safe and high quality performance of projects. The balance between ‘doing’ and ‘managing’ in this role varies depending on available resources for each project, and the ability to create competent teams to delegate to.
 

Location: UK, France or Thailand preferred. Remote applicants considered.

Package: Pay is dependent on location.  The UK salary of £62,000 plus pension contribution will be converted using ICSC scales. All locations receive 28 days annual leave, counselling support and annual wellbeing days.
 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• The development and implementation of strategy and annual plans for the organisation’s direct programming, and its alignment with organisational strategy.
• Responsible for the relevant team’s human resources, staff welfare, safety and security, and risk management. 
• The safety and quality of operational practices including data collection on the ground, secure data storage and transfer and proper financial management of the project including procurement practices.
• Responsible for the relevant team’s financial and spending strategy and financial management.
• Ensuring all aspects of the role’s work advances diversity, equality and inclusion.
• Actively contributing networking, ideas and concept note drafting to the Fundraising Team, with a particular focus on building the project funding and teams that will enable this role to grow and evolve.
• Be a member of the Strategic Planning Team and other strategic conversations with SMT and the Management Team, bringing ideas and challenge to move the organisation forward.
• Coordinate closely with the Senior Director – Innovation where areas of work and organisational improvement projects overlap.

Programmes

• Design and oversee the relevant operations and project workplans, ensuring projects are delivered safely and to a high degree of quality.
• Oversight of project’s design, objectives and goals and their budget.
• Cultivate a management culture that is performance-based, supportive and collegial.
• Provide ongoing support and mentoring to direct reports, including through the annual performance review process. 
• Work with project teams to jointly identify and make available learning and development opportunities for them and their teams. 
• Administrative oversight for projects and their staff, including the review of expenses, annual leave, salary/benefits etc.
• Represent the organisation in relevant areas in relation to programmatic partners such as media, lawyers, diplomats, NGOs and civil society as well as to donors and governments.
• Assist in developing our methodology for investigation and monitoring within projects, including working closely with the Senior Director – Strategy to ensure alignment with the Impact Strategy.

Essential

• Professional writing and speaking in either English or French, with at least effective operational efficiency in the other language (B2 or above).

The Activities and Move on Coordinator is responsible for managing and promoting Look Ahead's move on pathway across the RBKC complex needs service and also ensuring there is regular activities across all of our services that will not only build on residents' life skills but also enhance co-production within our services. The post holder will be responsible for sourcing accommodation in the private rented sector - liaising with landlords and sourcing new move on routes for resident. The post holder will also be responsible for sourcing funding for activities both internal an externally and working with residents across our services to ensure that the activities ran are done so in a co-produced way. This will also involve liaising with and establishing relationships with agencies outside of the organisation with whom we can form joint working relationships that will help with us developing life skills and enhancing the residents experience when it comes to co-produced activities available to participate in within our services.

Engagement Lead Health Inequity

This is an exciting opportunity to work with those affected by stroke and those working in stroke, to focus on the health inequity that stroke survivors experience. We are looking for an innovative, passionate and professional individual with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to join our leadership team in the South West – specifically Bath & North East Somerset.

Location: Homebased, Bath and North East Somerset with frequent travel within the Bath and North East Somerset area, however travel will be required outside of this area for team meetings or other work related meetings

The Role

The project has recently been through the research and design phase and is now ready to implement a number of tests to address health inequities experienced by Stroke survivors following their stroke. The project exploration and design has taken a collaborative approach with our NHS colleagues, the Engagement Lead will continue with this approach.

Reporting to the Associate Director for the South West & Channel Islands, the Engagement Lead will:

· Lead and oversee the project tests, measuring the impact with an ability to adapt and flex as the project develops.

· Have responsibility for developing the project with a test and learn approach.

About the role

We are recruiting for two experienced and proactive Administrative Assistants. As part of these exciting roles, you will support the respective Global Directors by enabling them to operate at the highest level towards achieving our strategic objectives. These roles involve comprehensive administrative support, effective time management, and coordination of various activities and events with a high level of accuracy. As an Assistant to Global Directors, some of the key duties and responsibilities of the position will be to organise and manage busy diaries, arranging travel, meetings, and events, ensuring all necessary arrangements are in place, including scheduling and coordinating other internal and external engagements. Additionally, you will be responsible for processing expenses and suppliers, supporting project administration, and maintaining databases (Salesforce). You will play a crucial part in
ensuring effective communication and logistical coordination across internal and external stakeholders, contributing to the organisation's mission of advocating for global farm animal welfare and ending factory farming worldwide.

About the hours

Part-time hours of .5 per week, working hours are flexible and these can be worked either across the week (5 or 4 days) or as 3 full days. Please note, that although part-time positions, there will be occasions when full-day or multi-day in-person support will be required, both at HQ and offsite for events and meetings.

About you

To succeed as an Assistant to our Global Directors, you will need to demonstrate strong administrative organisational skills, and be able to efficiently manage complex schedules, while meticulously coordinating travel logistics, researching travel, and orchestrating meetings and events, with excellent attention to detail. Your effective communication abilities, both verbal and written, will play a critical role in handling correspondence, managing expenses, and preparing comprehensive notes and project support. You will need to have a proactive, methodical approach to supporting project administration, be able to prioritise and maintain accurate databases, with the ability to work with flexibility, proactivity, with minimal supervision, recording and reporting regularly on progress and completed tasks. You’ll have a collaborative spirit, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse
international teams, while anticipating the needs of Directors and key stakeholders.

Purpose

Amparo is a nationwide Suicide Bereavement Postvention Service, providing practical and emotional support to people bereaved or affected by suicide. Thanks to additional funding granted between summer 2024 and the end of February 2025, we are hiring exciting new posts within our Amparo service in Southampton, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight and Portsmouth (‘SHIP’).

Research has indicated that 10% of people affected by suicide bereavement attempt to take their own lives. People who are neurodivergent, from ethnic minority backgrounds, and/or part of the LGBTQ+ community face an even greater risk of suicidal thoughts, feelings and self-harm compared to the rest of the population.

We currently have three Outreach Suicide Bereavement Liaison Worker roles available to support people from marginalised and disadvantaged communities following bereavement by suicide. We are also currently recruiting for an Outreach Team Leader (please see our website for details). 

The successful candidates will ensure the Amparo service in Southampton, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight and Portsmouth reaches vulnerable and marginalised people who may have faced barriers and challenges in accessing support and healthcare elsewhere. The new team will create a safe space where diverse communities are welcomed, listened to, respected, represented and supported with culturally-appropriate services.

We are looking for candidates with the confidence to represent Amparo and Listening Ear with knowledge, positivity and professionalism. The successful candidates must have a passion for ensuring equality of access for marginalised people and will have prior experience in breaking down barriers, either in a professional or voluntary capacity. The Outreach Worker posts have been made possible through short-term funding available until the end of February 2025. For this reason, they are offered as fixed term contracts which may be extended if further funding is granted, however this cannot be guaranteed.

Hours

Listening Ear is hiring three Outreach Workers, specialising in reaching LGBTQ+ communities, ethnic minority groups and neurodivergent people. Each part-time position is being offered as two-three days per week, in line with available funding, however hours can be negotiated during the recruitment process. We recognise that each community is not a homogenous group and that candidates may have intersectional lived experience, skills and interests. For this reason we welcome applications for alternative hours, including any who may wish to express interest in multiple roles.

Nacro deliver the Community Accommodation Support service (CAS) which is a national service across England and Wales. The service allows Courts to make greater use of bail by providing accommodation in the community with support for adult defendants who could not otherwise be bailed.  CAS also provides support for adults released from Custody in the last three months of their sentence on Home Detention Curfew (HDC) and other Licence Orders.   

The Team provides flexible and holistic support to Residents who have a wide range of support needs. We aim to support our Residents to find and keep a stable home at the end of their CAS-2 placement. You will manage a caseload of Residents and properties in your allocated area.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Support clients to comply with the requirements of their HDC/Bail conditions.
• Producing a realistic and achievable Support Plan to include accessing and using housing and accommodation services to support move on to longer term accommodation. 
• Ensure that all Support Plans and Risk Assessments are unique, inclusive and person-centred.
• Provide weekly support to Residents to engage with their support plan and contribute to the achievement of their objectives and aspirations.
• Support Residents to access Housing Benefit in the first instance to ensure that their tenancy is not put at risk with escalating rent arrears.
• Manage properties within your area of responsibility to ensure they are being maintained to Decent Homes Standard by reporting repairs, and replacing furniture and equipment are required.
• Undertake basic cleaning tasks as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver effective, person-centred Support and Safety Plans 
• Provide weekly support sessions (up to 2 hours per week) working with our Residents to achieve the goals identified on individual Support and Move On Plans.
• Maintain up to date individual Resident records.
• Support Housing Benefit applications for each Resident.
• Complete referrals to specialist support agencies in the community as required.
• Liaise with Partner Agencies such as The Probation and Prison Services, Courts, and Police where necessary.

Look Good Feel Better is a national cancer charity devoted to delivering workshops that help people living with a cancer diagnosis to cope with the physical and emotional side effects of their treatment. We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised individual to join our Special Events Team as Senior Special Events Fundraiser.

We have some exciting events coming up including a reception in October and a high-profile dinner at The Design Museum in November, so we need somebody to come in and hit the ground running. Please note that these events are in the evenings so the role will require some flexibility.

You will work closely with the Head of Special Events to deliver our events, taking responsibility for key elements of the management and delivery of each event and ensuring they meet budget targets. You will collaborate with internal teams on delivering events, including the bi-annual Patrons’ Club Reception and other events that arise over the year.

Relationship building (both externally and internally) is a key part of the role and an integral part of working for JDRF so you will have excellent interpersonal and stewardship skills.

As a highly creative and confident fundraiser, you will be given the scope to develop existing events as well as creating new and innovative events to increase fundraising as well as raising awareness of JDRF.

Surviving Economic Abuse is a small but mighty charity that is already making waves in dealing with one of society’s biggest issues: economic abuse, a devastating form of domestic abuse.

The charity is looking for a Media and Communications Manager (maternity cover) to help its work to stop economic abuse forever.

You would be joining the charity at an exciting time. In this role, you would lead on delivering the charity’s press office function and manage the charity’s annual Economic Abuse Awareness Day campaign.

As part of this role, you will also work closely with survivors to land high-profile media coverage to raise awareness about economic abuse and support our work influencing the new government. As well as line-manage the Communications Officer and oversee their work delivering the charity’s social media communications.

About you

• You will have excellent news sense and an understanding of social media, having worked in a busy press office or as a journalist.
• You will have a track record in creating and delivering impactful media stories while navigating competing priorities and deadlines with agility.
• You will have a compassionate approach to working with people with lived experience to empower them to safely tell their story in the media.
• You are an excellent communicator with a knack for storytelling, attention to detail, and ability to tailor your communications to different audiences.
• You will have exceptional organisational and interpersonal skills and be committed to working effectively as a team to get the best out of others.
• You will be skilled in brand and reputation management, for example, by embedding consistent brand messaging or identifying reputational risk.

 About the role

• Deliver an efficient and effective press office, swiftly and professionally responding to media inquiries from journalists.
• Manage the planning, delivery, and oversee the team’s execution of major communications campaigns, such as Economic Abuse Awareness Day.
• Lead on creating and delivering media stories to support the charity’s aim to raise awareness of economic abuse and influence policy and legislative change.
• Work closely with the Survivor Engagement Specialist to identify and gather survivors’ stories and support them to safely tell their story in the media.
• Line-manage a Communications Officer and oversee their work delivering our social media communications, ensuring strategic, on brand and responsive to risks and opportunities.
• Deliver media training to charity spokespeople and provide both written and verbal briefings ahead of interviews to ensure message consistency.
• Feedback and sign-off on communication materials developed by others to ensure consistent messaging, in line with the charity’s brand guidelines.
• Protect and maintain the charity’s brand and reputation, identifying risks and working with team members to effectively respond.

At Surviving Economic Abuse, we deal with one of society’s biggest issues. Last year, 5.5 million UK women reported that a current or former partner had controlled their economic resources – money and the things it can buy such as food, clothing, transportation, and housing.
