About Women in Prison

Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. We also campaign for systems change that addresses the root causes of offending, reduces the harmful impact of prison, and creates workable, community-based alternatives to imprisonment.

Job Purpose:

You will be joining Women in Prison’s new fundraising team which secures funding from a range of sources including individual donors, corporate supporters, and charitable trusts and foundations. We are looking for someone who can work flexibly to support the administrative and operational needs across different areas in the team including major donor giving, individual giving, trusts and foundations and legacy giving.

Day to day tasks will include managing the fundraising team’s administration function, carrying out prospect research, thanking donors and donation tracking, and providing support for various fundraising activities such as supporter/cultivation events. You will also build productive relationships with individual supporters and organisations through the delivery of exceptional supporter care.

Role Purpose

The role holder will be part of the Operations & Transformation Directorate reporting to the Head of PMO / Change and Delivery Lead.

The incumbent will have a pivotal role in the management of change, implementation and continuous improvement projects, mostly in the digital and IDS sphere. The role holder will help to ensure the work is aligned with the strategic objectives of the organisation, promoting the team’s relevance and value. Working on a broad spectrum of digitally focussed projects, this role will partner with the senior management team and other internal stakeholders.

Key Activities

• Project Management of Mobilisation and Implementation projects covering systems, continuous improvement, and strategic projects
• Creating project plans & mapping dependencies from bottom-up in collaboration with key stakeholders
• Define and track project milestones and ensure dependencies are understood and accepted by the relevant owners
• Report on the status of projects and ensure the appropriate governance and compliance is applied
• Coordinate and facilitate the delivery of a complex range of initiatives and/or projects
• Act as Project Manager by planning, supporting, facilitating and monitoring progress of activities, ensuring that delivery is on track, as well as establishing mitigating activities where risks and issues may arise.
• Oversee a number of complex projects
• This role requires a proactive approach to relationship building - collaborating, negotiating and managing internal and external stakeholders, ensuring delivery is achieved by the most effective and efficient means.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential:

• Significant and demonstrable project management experience (3-5 years) in a multi-project environment, from inception to implementation and closure
• Extensive experience delivering complex projects with strategic change component
• Experience managing projects through multi-disciplinary teams
• Project/Programme qualification e.g. APM, PRINCE2, MSP; experience working with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills (verbal, written and listening)
• Strong attention to detail
• Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and proactively
• Resilient and able to handle ambiguity
• Personal, relatable character, able to build relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage data and information with discretion

Desirable:

At a time of critical change and opportunity for our rivers and their associated habitats and their future our client have created a key role to help champion, campaign, and advocate for clean and healthy rivers. 

Their campaigning efforts have significantly helped to put the River Wye on the political agenda. They work with partners both nationally and locally to win support for meaningful action and change, while delivering advice and practical management in the catchment, across the wider team. 

Join a vibrant and energetic team, living and working in Mid Wales, and work with colleagues delivering landscape scale work focused on the uplands, rivers and their own estate, which includes Gilfach Nature Reserve and Wilder Pentwyn Farm. 

You’ll work closely with colleagues at The Trusts, building action with partner organisations and community groups across the catchment, sharing common messages and calls for action across Wales. 

With elections in both locally and in Welsh Assembly elections over the next 2 years, following a new government in Westminster, there will be a concerted focus on ensuring actions for clean and healthy rivers feature in debates and discussions and that there is a clear understanding that connected landscapes and wildlife-rich habitats, giving space to nature, are well funded and supported at all levels of decision making. 

Our client fundamentally understand the value of healthy environments and the codependency of people and nature. Their community is made up of people who see the value in healthy eco-systems and healthy rivers. It is also people that will be directly impacted by the changes they foresee in the Wye catchment happening. Livelihoods will be lost if farming is unable to continue due to loss of income, livelihoods will be lost if the rivers flood with greater regularity and intensity, unchecked, and damage local communities. 

We are looking for a training and development lead who will design and implement our training and conference programmes. You will work with legal and community organisations to understand their legal needs and tailor the training to give lawyers and advisers the tools they need to help their communities. You will develop resources and training that are practical, holistic and comprehensive and delivered through a range of online and in person methods. 

We already have established conferences and a training programme, working with partner organisations to deliver excellent resources but there is a need to develop this further. You will be supported in the role by the Events and Communications Coordinator.

You will be passionate and enthusiastic about access to justice with a training and development background. You will lead on the development of a new range of resources for the wider access to justice community with a focus on housing issues. You will also work closely with other staff to re-imagine and represent existing content in new ways. As LAG is at the heart of the social justice lawyering community, the successful candidate will work closely with our partner organisations.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

• Plan and manage a comprehensive training and conference programme.
• Identify and utilise the most appropriate platforms for delivery of different activity (e.g. in person, e-learning, webinar, podcasts) to make the most effective use of resources and meet customer need.
• · Work with subject matter experts, curating and creating content as needed.
• · Work with and develop relationships with lawyers and advice organisations and community groups to understand their learning needs.
• To develop digital content of the training materials, event video production, design brochures and training materials and keep these up to date and relevant.

With your expertise and understanding of the national health agenda you’ll plan, develop and deliver large scale integrated campaigns which result in high quality, engaging and impactful media coverage, working collaboratively with colleagues across Communications.

You’ll provide expert media and PR guidance to teams and individuals across the charity, including the Executive Team, Research and Support and Influencing teams, and will build long-lasting relationships with key influential journalists and stakeholders to ensure prostate cancer remains an issue high in their agenda.

You’ll be experienced in turning complex research, health or policy information into bitesize messaging and eye-catching content, along with the ability to look for new angles for stories which will help us drive forward our agenda.

Whilst your focus will be on generating proactive and reactive media coverage, you’ll also have a good understanding of the range of current communications channels and will have an eye on the bigger picture, considering opportunities to share messages and content to a wider audience.

Purpose of the Post
To lead insight and impact of the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector across Bradford District and Craven, including developing and managing the Impact and Insight function for the VCS Alliance. To ensure the work of the VCSE sector is founded on good insight and that the impact can be presented clearly to wide range of audiences across the Bradford District and Craven Health and Care Partnership system. You will work in partnership with data and intelligence colleagues in Public Health and the NHS, promoting equitable outcomes for all community members.

Duties and Responsibilities

• To lead, on behalf of the VCSE sector, and in collaboration with system partners, the development of a shared set of metrics to measure the impact of the sector’s work, particularly in taking pressure off front line health and care services.
• Lead the development and implementation of an approach to demonstrate the impact of the work of VCS partners and their contribution to reducing inequalities.
• Work in collaboration with other voluntary sector infrastructure partners and their data and insight leads to help develop a joined up and collaborative approach to impact and insights across and on behalf of the VCSE sector.
• Develop, maintain and manage good relationships with a broad range of partners including, Local Authority, NHS partners, VCSE partners.
• Gather local, national, and international insight and learning to help inform investment decisions and the evolution of the VCS Alliance and its delivery partners’ work.
• Provide insight and learning for VCS Alliance staff, and VCSE advocates across the health and care system, to help them inform, advocate, influence and/or inspire.
• Present insights to a wide range of audiences, which includes senior leaders from different sectors, for a range of purposes including informing, advocating, influencing, and inspiring.
• To work in collaboration with system partners, including ICB and public health staff, to access relevant data that be translated into insight required to demonstrate impact of the VCSA and its delivery partners and wider VCSE organisations.
• Support the monitoring, learning, evaluation of programmes for the VCS Alliance and its delivery partners.
• Produce regular reports which help demonstrate the impact and learning of the work of the VCS Alliance and its delivery partners.
• Support the continued development of insight collection methods across a variety of projects.
• Engage in insight and impact conversations on behalf of the VCS Alliance with colleagues with similar roles across the BDC ICB system and the wider VCSE sector.
• Liaise with external evaluation agencies as required, ensuring that their insight is integrated within the VCS Alliance impact and insight system.
• Assist the Operations Director in managing all aspects of GDPR on behalf of the VCS Alliance, including acting in the role of Caldicott Guardian.

General Requirements

• Undertake personal training as required.
• Attend regular supervision sessions and staff meetings.
• Support general VCSA administration by handling inquiries via the telephone, email and drop-ins.
• Provide relevant information for VCSA’s newsletter/s, mailings, website and social media.

Special conditions
As part of this role, you will be required to work and travel across the Bradford District and Craven. While the VCS Alliance supports hybrid working, there is an expectation that you will be based at the office for at least two days per week.

The caseworker will be based between our two main offices in Peckham and Walworth and will assist with raising awareness and completing benefit claims, advocating on behalf of clients and submitting reviews and appeals. The caseworker will also train a team of volunteers to increase capacity and expertise and will act in a consultancy role for generalist advisers and frontline workers in other agencies in the borough.

We are currently seeking a Specialist Caseworker Violence and Exploitation to work alongside those young Londoners affected by violence and exploitation.

About the Role

As the Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to secure major donations from individuals in the first instance. You will also manage the Senior Trusts & Foundations Manager. You will work closely with the Head of Individual Giving to ensure income targets are met or exceeded, contributing to the sustainability and growth of Mothers’ Union.

In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of driving impactful philanthropy and partnerships for Mothers’ Union. You will develop and execute a dynamic strategy to secure major donations, ensuring the annual income targets are met. You will nurture key relationships with existing donors, ambassadors, celebrities, and potential new supporters, leveraging these connections. You will build and manage a robust pipeline of supporters, ensuring continuous growth and rejuvenation.

About you

You are a seasoned fundraising professional with a proven track record of securing substantial donations from high-net-worth individuals. Your strategic mindset and innovative approach enable you to develop and execute successful fundraising initiatives that drive results. With your exceptional communication skills and keen attention to detail, you cultivate strong relationships and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization. Motivated by a genuine passion for the work of Mothers’ Union, you bring resilience, positivity, and a can-do attitude to everything you do. You will thrive in an environment of learning and make a huge impact.

Work Location/Hybrid Working Pattern

This role will be based at our Head Office in central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. Staff are required to work an aggregate minimum of 90 days per calendar year (pro rata for part timers) at our Head Office, Mary Sumner House in central London. Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 90 days includes anchor Tuesdays. In addition, Thursday is a core working day where part time staff are expected to work, either at home or from the office as needed.
