As Parliamentary Manager – House of Lords, you would be a key part of a team of driven, passionate people who are working together to deliver our Free to Be Strategy (2021-25). For this role we are looking for an excellent relationship builder who can engage effectively with Peers from across parties to advocate for LGBTQ+ communities. You'll also have experience in drafting timely and accurate policy briefings, a good awareness and understanding of current political issues in the House of Lords, and the ability to mobilise Peers on key issues affecting LGBTQ+ communities and present our priorities effectively.

About the role
The role is working as a trainee Housing Rights Worker with the aim of being able to provide generalist housing and homelessness advice by the end of the fixed term. The successful candidate will be given extensive training, support, and supervision to support them to achieve this. They will also have access to a flexible personal budget to help in your own personal and professional development.
The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to community hub priorities and be involved in systems change work in the area.
The GROW trainee programme includes opportunities to get involved in developing services in the Northeast and across Shelter at a national level, using your experiences to influence our local strategic aims.

We are recruiting self-employed advocates to provide independent and confidential advocacy on behalf of NYAS to children, young people and adults in a variety of settings such as children’s homes, schools, secure units etc. We are looking for people to service areas in West Berkshire, Wokingham or Slough.
Your role will enable them to ensure their voices are heard within decision-making processes that effect their lives. You will do this by listening to what they want and by informing them of their rights to get their wishes and feeling heard.
To be considered you must have significant experience of direct work with children, young people or adults in a related setting.

The platform will provide you with the opportunity to undertake a number of other professional courses that you can complete in your own time to maintain your own CPD. You can do this on the e-learning platform at a significantly reduced cost compared to undertaking each course individually with different providers.

KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
In order to be successful in this role, you must have:
-Knowledge and understanding of the key issues facing children and young people in the UK, including in the areas of mental health and wellbeing, child poverty, and risk and exploitation.
-A proven track record in effective campaigning in the UK political space at the local and national level that resulted in tangible policy change.
-Demonstrated experience using and measuring the success of a wide range of online and offline campaign tactics, including using Engaging Networks or other digital advocacy tools.
-Experience and expertise in working with a wide range of audiences, attracting new supporters, and diversifying campaign bases.
-Networking and relationship building, and collaborating internally and externally to achieve our goals.
-Safeguarding knowledge and experience - proven experience of working in an environment where the safety and safeguarding of children and young people is a priority.

You’ll also act as a source of expertise across the organisation and externally on key policy areas and the wider policy environment.

You’ll have excellent communication skills and experience of building relationships with, and influencing, key stakeholders. What the job involves
As a Celebrity and Influencer Engagement Officer, you’ll play a key role in building strategic relationships with high-profile personalities who genuinely connect with our cause. Joining our newly formed Strategic Communications, Campaigns and Brand team, you’ll help drive positive change for men affected by or at risk of prostate cancer.
You’ll work closely with our talented team across the charity and Communications directorate, fostering existing connections and exploring new partnerships. You’ll support our strategy for celebrity and influencer engagement, identifying impactful opportunities along the way.
In partnership with our Celebrity and Influencer Engagement Manager, you’ll manage celebrity logistics, administration, and itineraries, coordinating appearances at our events, media engagements, and third-party partner activities.

You’ll be engaging with a range of stakeholders, including agents, influencers and celebrities alongside internal and external specialists at all levels.
