Responsibilities of our Individual Giving Officer – Retention
- As Individual Giving Officer you will be part of a passionate and friendly team of six, working on the Retention side of the Individual Giving team. This role is crucial in supporting the delivery of Cats Protection’s Individual Giving programme.
- You will be making an impact by leading on projects across multiple communication channels to steward our wonderful supporters, ensuring they feel valued and helping to generate over £22 million a year in sustainable income for Cats Protection. This includes everything from leading the creative development of stewardship mailings, building engaging and thoughtful supporter journeys, and project managing telemarketing campaigns – all of which feature cats at the heart, of course!
About the Individual Giving Team:
- We sit within the Marketing & Income Generation directorate
- Our team is responsible for the recruitment and retention of individual supporters to generate over £22 million each year and provide leads for the other teams in the directorate
- We currently have a team of 13 working across Acquisition and Retention on our Appeals and Raffles, Membership, Sponsorship, Lottery and regular giving programs using Mail, Face to Face, DRTV, email, Digital, Social and other paid media
What we’re looking for in our Individual Giving Officer - Retention
- Experience in an Individual Giving role or similar, ideally working with agencies in the third sector
- Proven track record of achieving income against agreed financial targets
- Experience in leading projects and managing schedules
- An understanding of the principles of Data Protection legislation and implications for Direct and Digital Marketing
- A good working knowledge of transaction and contact databases

The Role
You will work on a major mixed-methods research project exploring the spiritual, existential and political impact of new motherhood. Our Finance team is looking to recruit a Finance Officer to join our Accounts Payable (AP) team for a fifteen months fixed term contract and support the work and transactions that British Heart Foundation (BHF) perform for us to fund lifesaving science.
As an Accounts Payable Finance Officer, you'll support the team and take responsibility for delivering a high-quality service in terms of timely, accurate and efficient entry of BHF expenditure onto our central accounting system. Working on data capture, you will have knowledge of IPOS queue management.
You'll ensure you achieve key performance indicators and individual targets agreed upon and set by the AP Team leader, ensuring that all transactions are coded and authorised to meet month end deadlines and meet agreed service levels.
The AP team provides a high level of customer service, ensuring colleagues and suppliers are kept updated in the process and that the payment process is as smooth as possible, so you’ll effectively manage your workload and escalate complex issues to the team lead.
Understanding the needs of customers, you’ll raise the profile of finance through provision across the AP team of best-in-class service both internally and externally.
Working arrangements
This is a 15 month fixed-term contract, to service a programme of work where extra resources are required.
This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.

About you
You’ll have previous experience within accounts payable or be someone wanting to get into Finance with strong organisational skills, able to pick up tasks quickly and with ease.
With excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, you’ll be able to build strong working relationships within Finance and across the BHF and be comfortable communicating finance information to non-finance colleagues. The role involves dealing with internal & external customers via email and over the phone, so you’ll be confident communicating in both conversation and writing.
To excel in the role you will have:
- AP experience: A strong understanding and experience of BACs, invoicing, reconciliation, finance administration, and Account Payable processes. Familiarity with HMRC requirements for VAT and payments within the UK banking system, and a good knowledge of GDPR.
- Proficient in IT and financial systems: Excellent IT skills including MS Excel and financial application software packages.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills: Outstanding attention to detail with an analytical approach to data. Strong problem-solving skills with a logical and methodical approach to identifying and resolving issues independently.
- Team player with a can-do attitude: A self-starter who is proactive and a good team player. Exhibits a can-do attitude and is able to manage workload with direction from the team lead.
- The role is working within a high-volume, fast-paced team, so you’ll have excellent time management and organisational skills.

Role Description
The Programme Coordinator will be tasked with ensuring the smooth running of all student related events. This will include having a full understanding of the SEO-London law programmes; understanding the legal industry that the programme supports; how these fits into the SEO-London organisation and using this knowledge to liaise with students and client/partner firms to run, organise and market successful events. In turn this role will be responsible for using data to run reports to show the impact of each programme.

DAY TO DAY DELIVERY OF EVENTS
- Responsible for the overall administration of all student events, with specific responsibility to ensure student communication is exceptional. Including event management, student and partner communication and coordination of all the relevant stakeholders, along with posting roles on opportunities pages, promoting events and managing the law commercial awareness newsletter content.
STUDENT MANAGEMENT & QUERY HANDLING
- Responsible for the relationship management of the students - including the ability to understand needs, resolve issues and anticipating and creating a strong relationship on behalf of SEO-London
- Responsible for managing student query escalations and to identify where there are opportunities to improve communication, marketing, or the type of events
- Responsible for managing the programme inbox (where applicable)
- Responsible for identifying creative and innovative ways to connect, educate and train students
- Provide oversight of cv support, screening, and recruitment preparation
- Responsible for attending campus events and representing SEO-London professionally with knowledge and enthusiasm
- Organise mentoring and buddying allocations
QUALITY ASSURANCE
- Responsible for ensuring that all information relating to the events and student data is managed within the GDPR guidelines and is updated in Salesforce effectively for tracking purposes. Responsible for running reports to track and monitor events from the CRM.

The Head of Finance will build strong foundations in relation to financial literacy and commercial awareness across the organisation, own financial management and control whilst working closely with the Executive team and budget holders. This role will be crucial in supporting the Chief Operating Officer and the Executive to deliver strategic plans over the next five years and beyond.
The role:
- Developing and managing The Access Project’s financial strategy and associated KPIs with key stakeholders across the organisation.
- Managing variance analysis and reporting, reforecasting and rolling 12-month cash flow forecast successfully whilst optimising use of cash resources in line with its investment policy and risk management procedures.
- Owning and developing the financial control framework of The Access Project including optimising use of related systems.
- Leading on the annual budgeting and forecasting cycles, including multi-year forecasts and financial models in line with the organisation’s strategic goals.
- Enable budget holders, through business partnering and training, to manage their own budgets effectively and make strategic decisions based on sound financial understanding of strategic drivers of the organisation.

In the sea, reforms to how our oceans are managed are essential to address overfishing, pollution, and loss of habitat. Starting in 2005, Pew's ocean conservation program expanded around the world and played a significant role in reforming marine fisheries management in the European Union and on the high seas and creating large scale marine reserves around the world. Our work is grounded in the best available science and pursues domestic and international conservation measures that are long-term and provide permanent, durable protections for marine ecosystems. We also work to address systemic threats to the ocean, including from plastics, over-and-illegal fishing, seabed mining, and climate change.
International Fisheries
Pew's international fisheries work aims to protect marine biodiversity and provide food and livelihoods for a growing population by addressing in specific, targeted contexts one of the ocean's main threats-inadequate management and control of large-scale fishing activities. Organized into three projects, our main areas of work include: the advancement of precautionary harvest strategies and effective compliance regimes for international fisheries (RFMO Policy); improved policies and actions aimed at ending illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing (Ending Illegal Fishing); and the advancement of ecosystem considerations in the management of fisheries (Ecosystem Conservation).
Position Overview
The senior officer, Squid Governance, International Fisheries plays an important role in securing improved oversight of global squid fisheries by key governments and international bodies, including through collaboration with other Pew projects and external organizations working on related topics and in targeted regions. Reporting to the project director, the senior officer works alongside subject leads across the international fisheries portfolio, and collaborates with colleagues across the Ending Illegal Fishing, Ecosystem Conservation and RFMO Policy teams to identify opportunities and conduct efforts to improve the governance of unregulated and under-regulated squid fisheries
Located in Pew's London, UK office or Brussels, Belgium office, this position will participate in Pew's core in-office days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and will have flexibility to work from home the remainder of each week , as business needs permit .
Responsibilities

- Collaborate with the project director, Ecosystem Conservation, to lead the design and implementation of strategies to strengthen the governance of global squid fisheries working with key programmatic leads and relevant consultants to engage governments and institutions to build international support for governance improvements.
- Actively lead coordination and collaboration with Pew's other campaigns that work on marine conservation, resource management, and habitat protection to align strategies to engage relevant governments and regional bodies.

- Forge and maintain relationships with important policymakers, conservation groups, expert bodies, and other constituencies to advance campaign objectives. Collaborate with other allies in the field to maximize the likelihood of achieving identified objectives.
- Serve as a spokesperson on relevant campaign issues within identified fora. This includes representing the Trusts at meetings, conferences, and/or on expert panels/groups, authoring articles and other communications, and providing interviews to outside sources.

About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic team administrator to join our small, friendly and relaxed team at SCONUL, the professional association for academic and research libraries. The team currently works one to two days a week from our modern offices close to Euston station and the remainder of the week from home.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate Director to join RedR and its Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to oversee the efficient and effective functioning of our organisation's key operational areas, including Operations, People Management, Finance, Security and Compliance. We have an exciting opening for someone to join our team as Head of Core Campaigns. Playing a senior role in our Impactful Campaigns department, you’ll help run and win campaigns that make the UK a better place but you’ll also be a key player in shaping the overall direction of 38 Degrees – including the culture, the team, and organisational strategy.
Day-to-day, you’ll be developing campaign and public affairs and media strategies and guiding teams to put those plans into action.
No one day will be the same: sometimes you’ll be responding quickly to a news moment and other times working on longer term projects and campaigns, often needing to change direction or reprioritise quickly and decisively.
You’ll be a champion of our supporters and come up with ideas and tactics – from digital tools like petitions, to media and working with external partners and allies – that will engage huge numbers of people, and allow us to make real change in the world. We need a campaigns expert who understands politics, the media, digital campaigning, partnership working and what it takes to win campaigns.
The Head of Core Campaigns leads the Campaigns team, overseeing and supporting the development of plans and supporting the team to run impactful, highly engaging campaigns, which aim to shape the country to be fair, respectful and sustainable; and the Public Affairs and Media team, to ensure that we’re taking every opportunity to show decision-makers our muscle and boost our brand and reputation.

Night Support Workers enable people with particular needs to manage their tenancies and live independent lives of their choosing in the community. Night Support Workers are responsible for ensuring continuity of a support service at night and for keeping customers and the building safe.

About the role
You will deliver high quality housing advice and advocacy in line with the hub’s local community priorities and work with people who are experiencing homelessness and bad housing to identify issues facing local communities. You will plan and deliver casework to individuals and communities to resolve their housing situation and engage with community groups, local organisations and individuals to understand local housing issues and raise awareness of people’s rights.
You will also work in local community settings and with community groups to deliver advice and rights awareness workshops and make sure that people with lived experience of homelessness have opportunities to share their story, give their opinions and participate in the design and delivery of Shelter services. Offering day to day support to volunteers, providing learning, shadowing and mentoring and being a consistent role model for our values are also key aspects of the role.
About you
You are able to listen to, engage and work with individuals and communities and with all stakeholders, including people with lived experience of homelessness. You will have experience, knowledge of and/or proven ability in housing and homelessness advice and advocacy and are able to progress to specialist level knowledge, as well as the ability to carry out casework related interviews, maintain detailed case records, advise and support clients to make informed decisions. A proven record of delivering group workshops and presentations is essential, as is a collaborative, flexible and professional approach to your work.

Our London hub specialises in providing housing advice and emergency homelessness work, intensive support to families, people experiencing domestic abuse and people experiencing multiple disadvantages. With 50 staff, we provide front line support to over 5,000 people a year and work to bring about systemic change with the ultimate aim of people being able to live securely in suitable, safe, affordable homes. London Hub’s priorities are improving the practice of local authorities and Registered Social Landlords and focussing on households disproportionately affected by the housing emergency.
There are currently around 60 individuals working in the Hub, including the Strategic Lead, Lead Solicitor, Service Managers, Team Leaders, Solicitors, Legal Advisors, Housing Rights Workers and Support Workers, Family Support Workers, DIY Skills Advisors, Administrators and Receptionist. We also have a range of volunteers.

About the Role:
As our politically informed and creative Advocacy Officer you will build and maintain relationships with UK parliamentarians and deliver high quality briefings, events, and research to help advance progress on life-changing universal WASH access. Some domestic and international travel will be required.
In this role, you will drive WaterAid's work to influence UK advocacy targets in Westminster and Whitehall as well as the global targets including the EU, G7/G20 Summits, and multilateral institutions.
You'll also:
- Build and maintain relationships with UK Parliamentarians and keep contact records to ensure strong impact monitoring and evaluation.
- Identify opportunities to engage parliamentarians and develop new WaterAid parliamentary champions.
- Provide secretariat for the Water, Sanitation and Hygeine (WASH) All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG)
- Lead engagement on behalf of WaterAid in a range of networks and coalitions.
- Support the delivery of high-quality events for policy and political audiences as well as the delivery of UK political campaigning.
- Lead daily monitoring of UK parliamentary, political and development sector wide activities and keeping the team informed of relevant developments and engagement opportunities.
- Support the drafting of political briefings on key policy areas on WASH, women's health and climate change.

About You:
- Bachelor's degree in development, economics, international relations or a related field, or relevant work experience.
