Supported by its six-year strategy (2021-2027), Moorfields Eye Charity has ambitious and exciting plans to grow to become a £10 million a year charity and more widely embed a culture of philanthropy across the Moorfields family (including Moorfields Eye Hospital, UCL, the Friends of Moorfields and Moorfields Private) whilst delivering on its current £100 million fundraising campaign creating the centre for advancing eye health (an initiative known as Oriel).
In support of its ambitions, the Head of communications will develop, lead and deliver the charity’s integrated communication programme and strategy focused on increased sustained and strategic visibility of the charity and its work together with supporting the delivery of its fundraising and grant making priorities.
The post holder will lead the communications team at the charity to ensure that communications activities support the charity’s vision and maximise delivery of its plans. The post holder will be responsible for building strong and sustained relationships with peers and leaders across the Moorfields partners shaping and delivering effective communications strategies in support of the charity’s goals.
Key experience includes:
- Extensive experience in communications planning and delivery, particularly in support of fundraising and grants making programmes and strategies
- Strong knowledge of developing and delivering effective organisational cross channel communications strategies
- Supporting communications around impact evaluation and reporting
- Proven ability leading a communications team
- Liaising and influencing high-level executives and key stakeholders
- Knowledge of working in a charity, health or research setting
- Preparing, managing and monitoring annual plans and budgets

Employment Advisor
Programme Overview
The Restart programme offers enhanced support to Universal Credit claimants who have been out of work for at least 6 months to find jobs in their local area. Starting at the end of June 2021, it will benefit more than 1 million Universal Credit claimants who are expected to look for and be available for work but have no sustained learnings. The scheme will provide up to 12 months of tailored support for each participant. Palladium will work with employers, local government, and other partners to deliver tailored support for individuals.
There are two roles, one based in Southampton and the other based in Eastleigh
The Employment Advisor will play a vital role in the success of the programme. They will be in charge of managing a case load of customers, working with them to create and follow an individualised workplan towards sustained employment. They have the ability to be a catalyst for change and really empower people to progress.
Primary Duties and responsibilities:
- Take responsibility and accountability for customers as assigned and working with them through to employment. This will include:
- Assessing the customer’s starting position to decide how to best meet their needs.
- Building rapport and a positive working relationship with each customer.
- Creating and following through with individualised action plans ensuring appropriate and effective activity is undertaken by each customer.
- Address customer’s personal constraints to employment, providing challenge, advice, and guidance where appropriate to develop customers capability in the recruitment process ensuring they have the necessary skills and confidence to secure employment.
- Identify, structure, and recommend vacancy and training solutions, working in close consultation with the team to meet the specific needs of customers and employers.
- Maintain customer records to a required quality standard to ensure the customer journey is documented in accordance with our quality standards and contractual requirements.
- Develop an understanding of specialist signposting services in the local area/region, building knowledge in areas such as specific disabilities, housing, benefits etc

Location and compensation
There are two positions available, one based in our Southampton office and the other in the Eastleigh ffice.

AAFDA was founded by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister Julia Pemberton and her son Will who were both killed by her ex-partner in 2003.
Each year, around 150 families lose a loved one to domestic homicide. The actual number of suicides as a result of domestic abuse remains unknown. Most of these families suffer significant problems including relationship breakdown, job difficulties/loss and mental and physical health issues. We help these families in many ways, our prime function being to provide families in England and Wales with specialist peer support and expert and specialist advocacy for the range of statutory reviews that will take place after domestic homicide.
AAFDA (Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse) is a growing Charity and to meet the demands of this growth, we are looking for an exceptional candidate to join our team in a highly rewarding opportunity. Although home based, some travel will be required - frequency will be commensurate to the role. We welcome applications from candidates with experience of domestic abuse. - listen to families and advocate for them in a complex system that too often treats them as passive participants and overlooks the value of their insight;
- provide information, support, guidance, advice and advocacy on Domestic Homicide Reviews, Mental Health Reviews, Inquests, Independent Office of Police Conduct inquiries and other types of Inquiries;
- manage families’ expectations of the legal and procedural processes facing them by supporting families in meetings with agencies such as health, police and local authorities;
- give families practical help on a wide range of issues - including help with letter writing or advocating with employers and local authorities on the families’ behalf;
- Support AAFDA in our bringing families together in AAFDA’s peer support events, such as the Hear Our Voice weekend and the on-line peer support Zoom sessions, where families can speak with others to share their experiences and stories. This will involve occasional evening work.

We are looking for a full-time Substance Misuse Recovery Worker based in Bridlington.
The Alcohol & Drug Service (ADS) are a registered charity who have been transforming the lives of people affected by drugs and alcohol misuse for over 40 years.
East Riding Partnership (ERP) – is a partnership between ADS and Humber Teaching NHS trust. It has three hubs, Hull, Bridlington and Goole. It is multi-disciplinary team led by a consultant and provides treatment services in the community. The services include aftercare, young people, community rehabilitation programme, a specialist supporting image and performing enhancing drugs/steroids and a team supporting service users and cares through a team of volunteers and peer mentors.
It is a very exciting time to be working in the drug and alcohol field, with significant new career opportunities being created.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative team, based in Bridlington. The role will support service users with diverse and complex needs and their families with issues relating to substance use including alcohol. The post would involve assessing need from a person centred and strength-based perspective. You will have a good understanding of recovery and have a value base that stems from a strongly held working belief in individuals’ ability to change and live in recovery along with a desire to ensure each service user has access to the information and 'tools' needed to live a fulfilling life in recovery.

YOUnited provides a single point of access for all referrals for CYP in need of support with their mental health across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Ormiston Families work with CYP aged 5-13 with mild to moderate mental health and emotional wellbeing needs
We are seeking candidates who are dedicated to improving services and want to make a positive difference for children and young people. You will provide short-term therapeutic interventions for children with mild to moderate mental health issues, offering a blend of face to face and online counselling sessions.
You will join a supportive team where clinical supervision is provided. We are also very keen to develop our service as a provider of high-quality trainee counsellor placements. We are also committed to the ‘Single Sessions Thinking’ model and training will be provided as this has proved to be very successful.
Successful candidates will:
- Be a qualified counsellor and BACP registered.
- Have a good understanding of the needs of children, young people and their families aged 5-12.
- Have significant (minimum 12 months) post-qualification experience working with this age group.
- Have A good understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to keeping CYP safe.
The main office is in March, Cambridgeshire but successful candidates will work from home, with most counselling sessions undertaken in schools. An ability to travel across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough is essential.
