You will be responsible for delivering all elements of substance misuse work including case management, needle syringe programme, harm reduction, outreach, group work, access and engagement support as well as other associated duties.

Across RBWM, Cranstoun co-ordinate the treatment and support of people who use our services, helping them to deal with their substance use so that they can change their lives, be happy and reach their goals.

Cranstoun’s local Key Worker (Criminal Justice) will be based in service and will be paramount in enhancing the overall service offer.

You will be responsible for delivering a good quality and safe environment to the people you manage and supervise, ensuring they have been provided with the tools to support others. You will have good knowledge of harm reduction and if you are someone who enjoys problem solving to help people to change their lives for the better, this role’s right for you.

About the role:

The purpose of this role is to provide step-down support to service users who have received support from the Angelou service, the domestic abuse service operating in Hammersmith, Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea

This role will provide a bridge between IDVA support and case closure, offering a service to women who require additional ongoing support, such as support with ongoing safety, wellbeing, or achieving independence. The service will support individuals to achieve their goals and aspirations through individual key work, targeted outcomes-focused interventions and person-centred support planning, utilising a fully flexible approach enabling service users to choose who they would like to support them with each task.

The step-down case worker will provide tailored, non-crisis support to clients, and will create a person centred and strength based step-down plan in conjunction with each of her clients, which might include:

• Providing advice on benefits, tenancy rights or signposting when necessary
• Facilitating access to training or/and employment /volunteering
• Helping them maintain and develop their skill base, (re)gain general IT skills, including providing particular support with CV writing
• Linking up with community groups
• Other strategies to decrease isolation
• Organise key worker sessions with individual clients to focus on empowerment, healthy relationship awareness and resilience, confidence building, mindfulness.

You will work within the team to make proactive contact and provide high quality advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women from aged 16.

You will primarily work with low-medium risk clients, holding a caseload of survivors.

You will also be required to work as part of Advance’s duty system on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support.

About You:

To be a Step-Down Caseworker you will:

Have a thorough understanding of violence against women and girls with a particular focus on the dynamics of domestic violence and its impact on women, children, families and communities. Experienced of supporting women who have experienced domestic violence, forced marriage or ‘honour’-based violence. Experience of crisis management and successfully managing a busy and complex caseload and experience of risk and needs assessment and safety and support planning, particularly with clients with complex/multiple needs.

About the role:

The Floating Support Worker will specialise in working with women for whom housing and risk of tenancy breakdown is a priority. You will provide specialist housing and domestic abuse support to women aged 18 and over. The accommodation needs of the women you support will require you to advocate and support for each woman efficiently and empathically, whilst liaising with providers and stakeholders to ensure her accommodation needs are met. The role is dynamic and requires the post holder to respond to women with effective crisis intervention, advocacy and support. They will be required to coordinate the provision of multi-agency support which focuses on working with clients to maintain their tenancies and prevent homelessness. The post holder will establish positive, proactive, and innovative working relationships with housing services and partner agencies.

About You:

To be successful as the Housing Floating Support Worker, you will need the below experience and skills:

Solid experience of supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse in all its forms, come from a sector with transferrable skills or possess a feminist/VAWG degree and be keen to learn and to train on the job

A good understanding of violence against women and girls with a particular focus on the dynamics of domestic abuse (physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, so-called ‘honour-based violence’, forced marriage, stalking and harassment) and its impact on women, children, families, and communities

Skills and experience in conducting comprehensive assessments of needs and risk for survivors experiencing domestic abuse, including carrying out short risk management and safety planning

Experience in assessing the needs and safety of any children that women using the service may have

An understanding of the criminal justice system and relevant legislation with regard to legal and civil options, housing, benefits, matrimonial and children

A good knowledge of safeguarding practice, procedures, and legislation

Other skills and experience:

Good data collection, monitoring and IT skills

A relevant qualification or training, for example in domestic abuse, criminal justice, law, social work, substance misuse or related area

Flexibility to work as part of Advance’s duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support

This is an ideal post for someone with experience and interest in bereavement work, looking to join a forward thinking, new service. This is also a great chance to be working alongside the Healthcare & Education Department within HMP Bronzefield and be part of a prison services team in Advance.

Using a trauma informed approached, the Loss & Bereavement Specialist will conduct a person-centred assessment to understand the extent of the client’s emotional needs and the impact of loss due to imprisonment or contact with the criminal justice system whilst also identifying practical and specialist needs. They will work with women to develop a support plan, ensuring they are equipped with information and knowledge about how to navigate possible changes in circumstances related to her children’s care and offer crisis intervention and support during acute phases of loss/bereavement.

The Loss & Bereavement Specialist Worker will liaise with the Prison Healthcare team, OMU, visits team and the Family Support Officer to facilitate interactions between women and their children/family members, particularly considering support is in place after visits and that the women’s emotional needs are met in custody and community via our Women’s centres.

The Specialist Worker will create a link between prison and the community, helping women to navigate support services and to positively re-integrate into their community upon release. The role will combine a casework- based approach, along with a signposting and advice service for the women. They will be based in the community and will provide a drop-in service in HMP Bronzefield to support women who are close to release.

A car may be desirable for this role, though not essential

About You:

To be successful as the Loss & Bereavement Specialist Worker you will need the below experience and skills:

Experience of working with bereaved individuals and providing grief counselling including knowledge of various therapeutic modalities relevant to grief counselling

Comprehensive understanding of the grieving process and experience of working with bereaved and loss as well as knowledge of traumatic and complex grief/loss.

An understanding of violence against women and girls and its links to women in the criminal justice system.

Proven ability and experience as a caseworker delivering trauma responsive interventions which support resettlement and rehabilitation of vulnerable people in the criminal justice system whether in the community or in prisons

Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of managing a caseload including maintaining and updating records, remaining focused on action plan goals, and keeping to deadlines

About the Role

• The London Hotel is a bespoke and time limited housing project, with 16 en-suite rooms, delivered by Westminster City Council and The Connection at St Martins. The accommodation is run from a hotel in Paddington, that has a staff office and a key work room.
• The aim of the service is to deliver a wrap-around support offer to entrenched rough sleepers, with multiple unmet needs, and who would otherwise struggle to access accommodation. The expectation put on those moving into the service is that they will be given a period of time to stabilise with health and wellbeing input and will then work towards a longer-term accommodation offer with us.
• The service provides food daily, as well as toiletries and offers other areas of support (aside from health and accommodation move on) around financial inclusion, substance dependency, obtaining ID and navigating criminal justice involvement.
• In this role, you will provide direct support to the residents of the hotel generally, as well as holding a small case load of residents who you will keywork.
• You will work closely with external partners to develop support networks around the residents and will make referrals into the relevant services. Alongside this you might need to accompany people off-site to appointments and coordinate the network around them to meet their needs. You will also need to facilitate external partners accessing the site, so they can provide support to residents.  
• Your focus when working with people will be to support them to develop a move on plan, so they can move from the hotel, into longer term accommodation. This is alongside the day to day running of the service as well as facilitating the maintenance of a trauma informed environment and dynamically responding to people’s needs.
• This is a fixed term role until 31st March 2026

About the role:

We’re excited to be launching a brand-new Housing First service in Camden next month, and we’re looking for a passionate, skilled individual to join our team! You will be working in a unique new service that for the first time will be offering support to couples who have been rough sleeping and are to be accommodated separately in their own flats. With a three-year commission and the ability to support 30 individuals, this is your chance to be part of a fresh and impactful initiative within our organisation. You will work from a base in Kings Cross, delivering support in the community and within the homes of your clients. You will carry a case load of 5 people and will provide intensive and flexible trauma informed support that is centred around the strengths and needs of everyone. You will work closely with a wide range of external statutory agencies and specialist colleagues in the team who will include: a health worker, an IDVA, psychologist, sessional occupational health, and perpetrator support. 

The service will support an equal number of women and men. The people given priority for the service are likely to have been rough sleeping for prolonged periods, have been multiply excluded from services and have co-occurring conditions. There will be a strong emphasis on safety in situations that might relate to complex abuse within relationships and externally. 

About you:

• Experience working with clients who experience multi disadvantages, including building trust and positive relationships with people who have co-occurring conditions and who may be mistrustful and have a low level of engagement with services.
• A proven track record of achieving measurable outcomes with clients with complex needs.
• Awareness of the intersection between severe and multiple disadvantage and violence against women and girls (VAWG), and an understanding of how the intersection of these issues can be supported and the people involved safeguarded.
• To show leadership qualities; skills of a strong negotiator; ability to advocate and be diplomatic.
• A level of numeracy, literacy and comprehension to input data, the ability to be fully self servicing in the use of emails and the common computer packages including SHP’s client recording system.

Advocacy Caseworker (full-time)

You’ll be assigned a case-load of clients who you will advocate for in different kinds of support they need.

The Centre is open between 9am – 5pm Monday – Friday. Your normal working hours will be 36 hours per week i.e. 5 days per week.

You’ll work with:

• people living with mental or physical health conditions or impairments
• migrants and refugees
• older adults
• people experiencing digital exclusion

You will keep strict professional boundaries with the client, whilst sympathising with what the client has experienced in their life.

The role

• Carry out needs assessments and draw up brief plans for each client to enable them to access services that will improve their wellbeing.

• Support clients in actioning these plans - particularly in accessing advice or services, working alongside MGWT colleagues to provide further support, and ensuring successful referral from partner organisations where relevant.

• Facilitate better access to targeted support services through advocacy - and when necessary, house calls to isolated clients.

• Ensure client support provided is in line with MGWT policies and procedures -in particular, MGWT Safeguarding Policies and Procedures.

Person specification

• An understanding of the need to work in an accessible and diverse way when working with those that experience barriers  in accessing support and services

• A good understanding of where and why these barriers exist, and how we should design our services to ensure they meet the needs and requests of our communities. Knowledge of a second language would be an advantage.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish good working relationships with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders, and ability to work with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds and experience.

• Ability to work independently using own initiative whilst remaining accountable to line management.
