Child Contact Centre Manager

Our Child Contact Centres in Southbourne and Townsend are fully accredited by the National Association of Child Contact Centres (NACCC). We provide opportunities for families to maintain relationships even when they do not live together. We facilitate supervised, supported and handover family time both in the centres and in the community. We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and committed person, with excellent leadership and communication skills, who shares our passion to improve the outcomes for children and families.

As Centre Manager you will:

• Organise, supervise, record and assess child contact with an awareness of safeguarding
• Rota and line manage practitioners and volunteers to ensure the service is safe, efficient and of high quality
• Develop and maintain relationships with families, Local Authorities, social workers, solicitors and other professionals and service users whilst ensuring contact demands are met

You will need:

• A child centred approach to family work
• An ability to work closely and non-judgementally with other people , showing an understanding of boundaries and a commitment to equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory working
• Excellent communication skills
• The ability to deal sensitively with people under stress
• Good IT skills
• The ability to prioritise competing demands, meet tight deadlines, co-ordinate workloads and delegate tasks
• A minimum qualification of NVQ Level 4 Children & Families related
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own car

Salary (full-time role) £29,993.64 per annum.

The available role is for 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, but some weekend cover may be necessary, days off in lieu will be given. Telephone support may be required for weekend staff on a rota basis).

• Have excellent communication skills with an understanding of different needs and being able to respond to these accordingly.
• Have a strong ability to convey complex information in an accessible way and engage diverse audiences.
• Be an excellent communicator who demonstrates effective person-centred listening, empathy, and probing skills to respond to underlying issues and assist customers to make informed choices.

The Role

Entering accurate case notes onto our IT system will be important too. And, when it comes to regularly liaising with GP surgeries, the local council, charities etc. or promoting the service within the community, again, we'll count on you.

We are seeking a dynamic Family Finding Social Worker or Senior Practitioner wishing to play an active role in the delivery and development of a high quality family finding service for the London Borough of Redbridge, for children with a plan for adoption.

The post holder will have lead responsible professional for family finding, but will also assist the team with providing a statutory post adoption service [assessments for post adoption support and applications to the Adoption Support Fund] for families living within the local area.

The post holder will be part of a small and very supportive team to develop practise and skills in this area. The post holder will also be able to have access resources and services within Hillingdon to support this role and be part of a bigger network of support from colleagues from across the RAA. This role will function as a job share to offer continuity to the children we are family finding for.

The Role

As the Team Manager, you will support the Service Manager in overseeing aspects of the delivery of our LXP team. You will lead and motivate a small team of around 11 individuals to deliver quality and impactful interventions: resolving and responding to any issues and implementing any necessary changes.

About You

We are looking for a Team Manager with a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in mental health, wellbeing, and behaviour change work with adults. You will also have experience in managing a complex service which involves multiple partners and services with vulnerable people.

You will also have:

• Relevant management qualification and or relevant management experience for the role.
• Experience in managing incidents, risk and/or safeguarding.
• Experience in managing staff and volunteers effectively.
• To work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team (statutory and voluntary).
• An understanding of confidentiality, consent, and information sharing, including GDPR.
• An understanding of Safeguarding policy and practice.
• Good communication and writing skills and a commitment to accurate and confidential record keeping.
• Ability to interact effectively with clients, colleagues and other professionals whilst retaining clear boundaries.
• Ability to work to all the policies, procedures and standards of the service and joint working arrangements with statutory and voluntary sector partners.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of mental health issues.

Citizens Advice Southwark has been awarded funding by City Bridge Foundation to provide a welfare benefits advice service for Southwark residents and we are now seeking to recruit a full time welfare benefits caseworker.

The caseworker will be based between our two main offices in Peckham and Walworth and will assist with raising awareness and completing benefit claims, advocating on behalf of clients and submitting reviews and appeals. The caseworker will also train a team of volunteers to increase capacity and expertise and will act in a consultancy role for generalist advisers and frontline workers in other agencies in the borough.

About the Role

The post holder will support vulnerable patients within the Adult Forensic and Acute Adult Services of Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, with scope to work with patients at various stages of their treatment and rehabilitation. Please note that this role requires physical presence at the hospital.  Appointment will be subject to risk assessment. 

The successful, dynamic candidate will have:

• Experience of providing Independent Mental Health Advocacy, or having worked in a related field, to a high standard.  Relevant skills and experience from backgrounds other than Advocacy can be built on.
• The ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of professionals and service-users.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential as well as being adaptable to the needs and abilities of others.
• A working knowledge of the Mental Health Act, relating to both the civil and forensic sections of the Act and other associated legislation. As a minimum, a general understanding is required, with a willingness and an ability to expand on this once in post.

Required experience: Working within Advocacy or a Related Field for at least 1 year 
Desirable experience: Holding the National Advocacy Certificate Qualification

As our new parent adviser you’ll  join our wonderful team in Wales as part of our Building Resilience Project.

In this part time, home-based role, you’ll have the opportunity to support and mentor parent carers, helping them develop their skills, knowledge, and confidence to make decisions that are best for their families. You’ll also help create and deliver well-being workshops for parent carers to empower, inform, and reduce their stress and help increase their confidence so they are able to access the benefits they are entitled to.  And you’ll work in partnership with money advice organisations across Wales, to set up referrals for parent carers to make sure they get all the financial support they need.

What we’re looking for

• Experience of working with and supporting families who have disabled children in Wales.
• Ability to support and mentor parent carers to develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence to make decisions that are right for their families.
• Experience in creating, facilitating, and delivering workshops

• Knowledge and experience of the issues and concerns that affect families who have disabled children e.g. leisure provision, education, respite care.
