They are looking for a new Assistant Coach, to work alongside the Centre Manager, as part of the team at Citizen Church to deliver the Spear Programme, equipping and empowering unemployed 16–24 year olds to overcome barriers to employment and turn their lives around by moving into sustainable work or further education.
The important stuff
Salary: £21,500 p.a. pro rata for part-time role (£10,750)
Hours: Part time, 2.5 days per week, between 9.30am – 5.30pm, Tuesday – Thursday (with some flexibility and occasional evening or weekend work for events such as Spear Celebrations)

Key Responsibilities
Spear Programme
- Lead group sessions of up to 10 young people, using coaching skills to transform their mindsets, and to maximise their potential in stepping into the world of work
- Prepare and deliver coaching sessions on a weekly basis and find creative ways of developing ongoing relationships with Spear Trainees. This includes running application workshops with past Trainees as well as maintaining records and reporting on statistics.
Relationship management
- Build and manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses, and other organisations
- You will support with job fairs, mock interview days and welcoming external visitors to the centre
Church Community
- The Spear Coach is directly employed by Citizen Church, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community

What will I be doing?

Work with UX experts to devise and deliver pre-launch test and learn initiatives, sharing findings with stakeholders and recommending optimisations based on results.
With Marketing Executive support, lead on all aspects of campaign delivery to time and budget whilst meeting agreed KPIs.
Work with Email & SMS, Social and Marketing Apprentice teams to deliver email, SMS, social and other specialist marketing activity.
Lead on in-campaign reporting and post-campaign analysis, sharing recommendations to improve the effectiveness of future campaigns with key stakeholders.
Mentoring, guiding and upskilling junior colleagues.
What are you looking for?
Relevant experience of delivering multi-channel campaigns, from planning through to execution and analysis.
Good understanding of end-to-end supporter or customer journeys and the role of different channels in fully integrated campaigns.
Data-driven with a good understanding of UX principles and experience of interpreting results and recommending opportunities for optimisation.

We are seeking a Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser to join our passionate and dedicated fundraising team. Your role will be pivotal in securing vital funds for the hospice by developing and maintaining meaningful, positive relationships with grant-making organisations and individual supporters. Hours of work: This role is 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday with the very occasional evening or weekend for Events.

The Role
Reporting to the Individual Giving who is responsible for cause related products, the Individual Giving Assistant will provide administrative, operational and marketing support for a range of activities across the year. You'll be an integral part of the team, supporting delivery across a variety of individual giving campaigns – such as postal mailings, digital advertising, telemarketing, eMarketing and Face to Face marketing.

The Role
Reporting to the Policy Manager, the Policy Officer works to develop UK-wide, evidence-based policy positions on key issues affecting stroke survivors or those at risk of stroke. Working closely with the rest of the team, they will consult with internal and external experts as well as stroke survivors as part of the policy development process and ensure final positions are disseminated and used effectively.
The Policy Officer identifies and drafts organisational consultation responses, ensuring submissions are backed up by evidence and are informed by those affected by stroke.
Providing expert policy advice and support to colleagues across the organisation, they monitor the external policy landscape and regularly update colleagues on developments. They also support local systems leadership by providing influencing support to regional colleagues, helping to embed policy across the organisation.
Working closely with the Public Affairs and Campaigns team, they support influencing activity by providing up-to-date evidence to develop strategies and messages. They also support the public affairs work when necessary, and provide policy support for the Chief Executive and other senior leaders by preparing presentations when required.
They collaborate with external partners and coalitions to represent the Association’s policy aims, and push for the integration of the voice of lived experience in policymaking.
This role will be provided on a fixed term basis, to cover maternity leave within the team.
About You
You will ideally have experience of:
• Developing evidence-based policy positions or statements

Background: Muslim Charities Forum (MCF) is the UK network for British Muslim-led Voluntary and Community Sector Organisations. MCF seeks to support, connect, and represent these organisations so that they can all experience the blessings of the collective. We aim to collectively build a more accountable, transparent, and efficient British Muslim-led Voluntary and Community Sector, to improve our ability—both as individual organisations and as a sector—to contribute to a more just and sustainable world. MCF has a small team, but our impact is far-reaching. Following a period of expansion, MCF is seeking an innovative, motivated and passionate individual to lead on its advocacy capacity building work, sector-wide advocacy work, and delivery of its strategic policy work.
The primary purpose of the role is to build capacity in Muslim-led Voluntary and Community Sector Organisations with differing scales of operating and programmatic focus areas. There will be a particular focus on those Muslim led organisations based in London.
You can expect to be leading on some of the areas as a priority in this role:
• Engaging in outreach with Muslim-led Voluntary and Community Sector Organisations.

About CARIS Families
CARIS Families is a small, frontline charity that supports families who are homeless and living in overcrowded multi-occupant hostels in the London Boroughs of Hackney and Camden. Life in temporary accommodation hostels entrenches children and their parents in poverty and disadvantage. Families suffer from acute overcrowding, inadequate basic facilities and a permanent sense of unsafety. The nature of hostel life isolates people from their support networks, decimates their physical and mental health and becomes an adverse life experience in itself for families already suffering the trauma of having become homeless.
CARIS Families exists to provide early intervention to mitigate the worst effects of hostel life and homelessness for children and parents in our four target hostels. We do this by providing hands-on play, learning and social activities to help children meet their potential, improve families’ wellbeing and build their support network. We provide a holistic family support service that case-works with each family individually to reduce financial and other pressures on them as they wait for a permanent home. We also use our data and learned experiences about temporary accommodation to join campaigns for reform to temporary accommodation policy and practice, both locally and nationally.
We have just received funding to employ a dedicated Housing Rights Manager for the next two years. This is an exciting addition to our team, as it will be our first staff member dedicated to helping our homeless families with their housing case. The housing system is notoriously opaque: families tell us it can be a hopeless minefield to navigate independently and that they often can’t access meaningful help with it, resulting in years-long hostel stays. Our Housing Rights Manager will step into the gap and work with families on an individual basis to gain the information and support they need to progress their housing case and expedite their move-on into a suitable home.
About the role
Our Housing Rights Manager will be a key member of our Family Support Service. They will manage a weekly drop-in clinic from within the hostels where they will assess new housing cases and develop a support plan with families. They will manage a full housing caseload of housing support work, collaborating with relevant local groups, local authority partners and law centres to progress families’ housing cases. They will learn from the barriers families tell us they face, develop CARIS Families’ housing advice service in response and use these learnings to contribute to campaigns for reform to temporary accommodation practices and policies locally and nationally.
In their first year, the Housing Rights Manager will work in partnership with housing solicitors at Shelter to write a Housing Information and Rights handbook tailored to the processes of our target boroughs. The handbook will aim to demystify the temporary accommodation system in our two boroughs, explain residents’ legal rights and help them understand their options. It will form a key part of the support we can offer and allow us to reach many more families in hostels than our small staff team can individually casework with.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a committed staff team of just 5, working in a person-centred and community-minded way to make a real difference to families on the frontline of inner-London’s housing crisis.
