Supporting Families at Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital
Since 2008, Citizens Advice Camden has provided a pioneering and well-regarded advice service at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) — the first of its kind in a UK children’s hospital. The service supports families of seriously ill and disabled children who are receiving treatment at GOSH, helping them navigate the life-changing socio-economic impacts of their child’s illness. We work closely with GOSH staff and partners — including social workers, family support officers, chaplains, and other stakeholders — to offer technical advice and casework that complements the hospital’s wider support services.
The issues families face can include reduced income, unsuitable housing, debt, and accessing benefits — especially during long or repeated hospital stays. Many families continue to receive our support over months or years, and our work is rooted in partnership, compassion, and a strong commitment to GOSH’s ‘One Team’ ethos.
The Role: Generalist Adviser/Caseworker
We are seeking an experienced adviser/caseworker to join the service. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, holistic advice and in-depth casework across a range of social welfare issues, with a strong focus on welfare benefits (including appeals) and housing, including complex and disrepair cases. You will provide tailored, long-term support to families, managing multi-issue caseloads with sensitivity and a commitment to empowering clients. Close collaboration with healthcare and support professionals at GOSH is essential to ensure integrated and effective service delivery. You will also contribute to research and campaigns by gathering social policy evidence and maintain accurate, detailed case records to support monitoring and evaluation.
To succeed in this role, you will need experience in advice and casework—particularly in welfare benefits and housing—along with confidence in using digital systems and tools for remote working. You should be proactive, well-organised, and capable of handling a demanding and emotionally complex workload. Strong communication skills are essential, as is an understanding of the social and economic challenges faced by families of seriously ill children. You must hold, or be able to provide evidence of meeting, MaPS accreditation at advice and casework level.
Being available onsite is an important aspect of this role and so this role is hybrid working. The exact split between remote/onsite working will be by agreement with the line manager and to meet the needs of the project, which could change over time.
Appointment to the role is subject to being granted GOSH honorary staff status, which includes full compliance with GOSH policies and training requirements, as well as a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.

About the opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity to join our talented and passionate team of Dementia Advisers in Greater Manchester.
Within this role you will be providing dementia knowledge and expertise across Stockport, working in close partnership with the memory clinic and other providers. The role will include offering support within a hospital setting, supporting people after a diagnosis of dementia and having a presence to offer information sessions and networking with hospital staff to increase awareness and encourage referral and engagement.
The role will include facilitation of our popular Singing for the Brain group on a fortnightly basis.
As a Dementia Adviser, you will have the rewarding opportunity of providing support, information and guidance to people with dementia, their carers and families, supporting them to maintain their independence, improve their sense of well-being, putting them in more control of their lives.
The Dementia Adviser service is unique to everyone, based upon their personal circumstances and support needs. You will offer support in a variety of ways to include in people’s homes or various locations within the community, face to face, by phone, letter or email. You will also support people to access other services, providing signposting and referrals.
About you
- Passionate about supporting people to maintain their independence, improve their sense of well-being by enabling them to take more control of their lives.
- You have some knowledge or personal experience of dementia and the challenges people affected by dementia may face.
- Experience with communicating with a wide range of people, adapting your approach to ensure understanding at all levels.

This role is within our Sheffield Dementia Short-term Intervention Service and Hospital Discharge Pilot. The service offers specialist support to people with dementia for up to 6 weeks to prevent crisis or provide crisis intervention support if needed. Referrals for this service come from GPs across Sheffield and nursing staff working in the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.
No two days are the same in this role and our work can really transform the lives of people affected by dementia. You will be supporting people with a dementia diagnosis (or on the dementia pathway) and/or their carers and wider families. You will be supported by a small team of dementia advisers, along with the local services manager and our wonderful volunteers.
The service sits within our Sheffield & Rotherham local services team.
About you
- Be An empathetic listener, able to assess and evaluate client need in a non- judgemental manner.
- Able to work under pressure and manage own caseload.
- Self-motivated and can work independently from home using your own initiative, but equally you are a team player keen to support your colleagues, working in community venues when required.

Time for young people is our emotional wellbeing support space for young people in Gateshead. Time for young people empowers young people to take time for themselves.
Gateshead TIME opening hours supports the needs of the communities in which we work, and therefore there are elements of unsociable hours - this may include evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. These will always be agreed in advance and will be as flexible as possible to need individual needs.

The post holder will support Children, Young People, and Young Adults in our Emotional Health & Wellbeing services based in Gateshead by offering low intensity support under a brief intervention framework.
It is planned to offer drop in sessions where young people can drop in and meet trained staff one to one. Young people can come along and talk through what they are struggling with. The service holds no waiting lists and therefore the ability to build relationships quickly, identify risks, and process further support is vital.
Alongside our drop-in support, we also offer young people more structured one-to-one sessions, alongside group-based work.
We are looking for a Wellbeing Practitioner that:
-Has a genuine passion and working knowledge of young people and mental health.
-Able to develop good therapeutic relationships with CYP and families
-Experience of working in settings with young people who have emotional, behavioural and/or mental health concerns.
-Has a background or worked in Health Care, Education, Youth Work or Social work
-Able to provide direct low level therapeutic support that is person centred.
-Able to deliver improved wellbeing for children &young people presenting in crisis.
-A good working knowledge of Mental and Emotional Health Issues that young people face today, including interventions on how to support young people in overcoming these challenges.

The Role
The Trust had an income of £4.7m in year ending March 2024, excluding an exceptional legacy of £2.2m. To enable the charity to push ahead with this vital work to restore the natural environment across Staffordshire, income needs to be increased to £10m by 2030.
The Digital Marketing Lead will be the key contact for digital communications and marketing within the organisation, providing input into annual budgets and plans from the perspective of their expertise.
Your role will involve designing, testing, and delivering engaging campaigns, and mapping user journeys to enhance supporter experience.
This position is a new one, and one of the key recommendations of a fundraising research assignment conducted at the end of 2024.

They are looking for an experienced public fundraising leader to join a newly formed Marketing and Engagement department to further develop and grow their supporter base, with responsibility for individual giving, community and sporting events.
As Deputy Director of Public Fundraising, you’ll lead a talented and high-performing team (3 direct reports), with ambitions to grow income from c.£4m to £6m over the next 5 years. As part of the new Marketing and Engagement function, you’ll work closely with the marketing teams to ensure exceptional supporter experience from the point of acquisition through to retention, cohesively developing and maximising the impact of strategies that enable the charity to grow its supporter base and deliver ongoing stewardship.
