With homelessness rates rising, St Mungo’s is looking for a creative and driven Senior Press and PR Officer to help end homelessness and rebuild lives. You will be joining a team of 4 which includes a Press and PR Lead, a part-time Press Officer, and a part-time Senior Press and PR Officer - both focussed on Fundraising and Brand PR, whilst you will be focussed on Policy and Research PR.
In this fast-paced role, you will work to build and maintain relationships with national, regional, and trade journalists to tell varied and compelling stories from one of the UK’s leading homelessness charities. There will be opportunities to speak to services and people with lived experience of homelessness to build timely PR on some of our core issues. With this role, you can also expect to:
- Be part of a busy press office, with journalists contacting us on anything related to service visits to commentary on the Renters’ Rights Bill
- Write creatively and to a variety of audiences, using the full set of tools in your PR arsenal: press releases, opinion pieces, quick-fire comments, photo galleries, and letters to editor
- Be trusted counsel to members of the senior management team and colleagues across the organisation in relation to Press and PR work, providing briefings and practice interviews where appropriate
- Devise timely PR stunts to ensure that homelessness remains high on the media agenda
About you
You might already be working as a Senior Press and PR officer looking for a new challenge or looking for the next step in your media career. Either way, we are looking for a positive, patient, and agile communications professional who has news sense and a genuine interest in supporting the aims and ambitions of St Mungo’s. Following the successful application of a National Lottery award, we are seeking two dedicated and compassionate Peer Support Group Development Officers to set up and sustain local peer support groups for people living with and affected by prostate cancer. These roles focus on building on our established networks to expand peer support in defined areas, facilitating group formation, and enhancing service delivery through strategic outreach and resource development.

Key Responsibilities:
- Group formation and support: Oversee the setup and operation of 10-12 self-sustaining and independent peer support groups within your assigned region across the lifetime of the three-year project. The Global Legal Action Network (GLAN) works with affected communities to pursue innovative legal actions across borders to challenge states and other powerful actors involved in human rights violations and systemic injustice. Our actions address the most pressing instances of human rights concern and they fall within the following themes: War and occupation; accountability and supply chains; environmental and economic justice; and migration and border violence.
Since our establishment in 2016, we have developed legal strategies directly addressing human rights impacts in over 23 countries and territories. Our cases include the successful legal challenge against imports of cotton produced with forced labour in Xinjiang (East Turkistan) into the UK on behalf of World Uyghur Congress and the climate case against 32 European States before the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights, brought on behalf of six Portuguese youth-applicants.

As the Head of Strategic Communications at GLAN, you will spearhead the development and execution of a comprehensive communications strategy that amplifies GLAN's mission and impact on a global scale.

This is an exciting time to join GLAN. We are seeking a Head of Strategic Communications to build an ambitious communications strategy focused on some of the biggest human rights and climate change issues of our time. At this point in time, the team is small with some budget to work with external freelancers, consultants or agencies. Communications Strategy

MLMC is now looking for a part-time Finance and Administration Officer. The successful applicant will manage MLMC’s day-to-day finances providing financial information to the Charity Coordinator and other staff as needed. Additional duties include administration/governance support to the Charity Coordinator and to manage the day to day running of the office (this does not involve any people management). This role calls for an individual with accounts and/or book keeping experience, the ability to run an end to end payroll using a computerised system including HMRC and year end reporting, and excellent administration skills. It is crucial that you will be able to communicate politely, professionally, effectively and clearly with all stakeholders (e.g. fellow staff, customers etc.).
All of the charity’s roles require individuals who show a passion for empowering, working with, and raising the voices of people with learning disabilities.
We need a self-starter who enjoys a challenge, can hit the ground running and is able to work with minimal supervision.

About the role
This is an important role within our legacy and journeys team, part of an established and successful individual giving operation. This role is responsible for the delivery of campaigns to promote legacy giving and to raise awareness of gifts in wills to both existing charity supporters and new audiences.

About the role
As Crisis’ Media Officer, you will play a key role in securing impactful media coverage that inspires the public and politicians to join our fight to end homelessness by raising awareness of our influencing campaigns and fundraising events. You will help to build Crisis’ profile by bringing to life our work, demonstrating how we end people’s homelessness for good through education, training and support with housing, employment, and health.
Your role will be creative and varied. You’ll work with our frontline staff to identify people facing homelessness who want to share their stories and empower them to do so. At Crisis we always champion the voices and experiences of the people who we support. You’ll help create bold and hard-hitting news stories to engage our audiences and bring to life some of our biggest organisational campaigns, like our annual Christmas appeal. You will also help make the most of reactive opportunities that come through to our press office and help build relationships with key journalists.
