Responsibilities of our Community Fundraising Officer:

• This role supports the delivery, growth and reach of community fundraising in a defined geographical location and supports the development and delivery of a local fundraising strategy in line with the organisation’s broader income generation objectives.
• The Community Fundraising Officer will establish, implement, develop and maximize all community fundraising opportunities, increase income, deliver exceptional supporter stewardship and exemplary volunteer management, working collaboratively with the Community Fundraising Hub Manager and Community Fundraising Volunteer Team Leader to build on past successes and develop a diverse pipeline of community fundraising events and activities that respond to local audience needs.
• The role will also build and develop exceptional fundraising relationships with supporters and volunteers within the defined geographical location to harness the power of our local footprint and raise income and awarenes

About the Community Fundraising team:

• We sit within the Community Events team
• Our team is responsible for leading and supporting community activites to drive and grow our community fundraised income.
• We currently have a team of 30+

We are looking for a new team member to provide full administrative and programme support to the Employment & Careers team. The role will involve supporting the team in the day to day running of the service including the preparation of contract documentation (such as registration forms, as well as specified supporting evidence: ID proofs, Proofs of Address etc.) for submission to funding partners, uploading data spreadsheets and CMS systems, and supporting the team with promotion, outreach and engagement of our services. This includes conducting follow-ups and answering queries (by phone, email and in person) from both current and prospective participants on the programmes being delivered by High Trees. They will also be responsible for the preparation of finance related performance evidence for monthly/quarterly submission.

The successful applicant will have experience of providing efficient administrative support, be very organised and able to work to deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. As well as supporting the Supporter Operations Manager in monitoring & evaluating the performance of the Operations team using reports to investigate any unusual results/trends. 

You’ll also: 

• Bring to the role a keen understanding of supporter response handling, the intricacies of processing donations, Direct Debits, Gift Aid, and communication preferences
• Assist with due diligence processes within the wider SEO team, specifically focusing on internal data security practices, response handling accuracy, and adherence to relevant regulatory requirements such as those for Gift Aid or the BACS scheme for Direct Debits 
• Proactively identify processes for improvement across the Supporter Experience & Operations Team to deliver efficiencies and improve the effectiveness of internal procedures 

• Support campaign managers and other colleagues with any new or existing projects relating to fundraising operations, working closely with internal stakeholders, ensuring requirements are clear and fully documented

• Knowledge of the rules and regulations of Gift Aid, Direct Debit, Data protection and PCI-DSS compliance 
• Strong team player. Proven experience and/ or evidence of providing support/supervision/ training to team members

• Experience of income processing and donor response handling
• Excellent IT skills (use of Microsoft products, particularly Excel) with ability to analyse data accurately

About the Role

As the Senior Communications Officer (content) in the Public Engagement Team, you will be passionate about the rights of young people in the UK. Using your creativity and experience in delivering public-facing communications content and fundraising content you will be instrumental in increasing Depaul UK’s income, profile and influence. Your ability to meaningfully engage and involve young people, staff and volunteers will ensure that their voices are heard and amplified through Depaul UK’s communications and fundraising activity.

You will lead the delivery of communications and fundraising content that increases brand awareness and engages our target audiences to support Depaul UK as donors or in other ways support the organisation. You will be responsible for:

• Providing administrative and other support to fundraising and communications staff.
• Leading on a small portfolio of major fundraising events and activities.

• Identifying new events, opportunities and approaches that could raise significant funds for halow.

This role sits within the Digital Section in the Communications Directorate, reporting into the Digital Marketing & Fundraising Manager. You will work within an ambitious and passionate digital team and across the organisation to develop our holistic digital strategy through the oversight and management of digital channels, plans, and schedules, and by implementing the plans as well as empowering the teams to manage their own digital campaigns.

Overall purpose

The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for developing, leading and implementing key aspects of our communications and engagement strategy. Your focus will be to maintain our high reputation and build engagement with key audiences – principally target public audiences, corporate partners, funders and supporters, volunteers, clients, and staff. 

Bridging the gap between senior leadership and delivery, you will be a confident and strategic thinker, but remain excited by the challenge of getting stuck in. You will be comfortable supporting colleagues to deliver activity as well as working independently on your own projects. You will have the knowledge and experience to ensure that the right policies, frameworks and plans are in place for our small team to achieve ambitious plans.

The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for campaigns, PR, content and storytelling, brand and creative, and plays an integral role in internal communications. They also support other external engagement activities, such as digital marketing campaigns, corporate partner acquisition and retention, and public fundraising.

Strong copywriting is essential for this role. You will be able to write, edit, and tailor content for different audiences, and publish it across various channels, including the website, social media, emails, and marketing materials. 

You will enjoy variety. Your day could involve operational planning, developing a new campaign, briefing freelancers and agencies, finding compelling stories, creating our Impact Report, speaking with journalists, working on internal communications, or drafting social media posts.

The successful candidate will have strong emotional intelligence, relationship building and negotiation skills. They will be collaborative and creative, drive projects forward, work effectively alongside the Senior Digital Marketing Manager, and bring people together across the organisation. They will provide supportive, effective management to the Communications and Campaigns Officer, and be an internal advocate for the impact our Communications and Engagement can have.

Hours of Work

Hours of work are 35 hours per week, 09:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday.

Frequent travel to meet and interview beneficiaries will be required, along with a willingness to work outside normal office hours to obtain the story.

We have a friendly, supportive, and inclusive environment with a hybrid working framework involving the opportunity to work from home and in the RNRMC offices. There will be a small number of roles where employees will be required to work only from our offices, but typically most employees will be able to work remotely on average 40% of their working week. All employees are welcome to use our office for their whole working week if that is their preference.

Salary

The full time equivalent annual salary range for the post is between £26,500 up to £29,000 per annum based on experience.
