The Prince of Wales Hospice provides specialist palliative care for adults with a terminal diagnosis, and those around them. The hospice offers a 14-bedroom ward for patients who need round the clock care as well as a Wellbeing service – in total The Prince of Wales Hospice cares for over 300 people a year!
The care provided at The Prince of Wales Hospice concentrates on quality of life and the alleviation of distressing psychological, spiritual, physical and social symptoms. It also includes support in bereavement. To provide this care, they have a highly skilled team with a wide range of specialisms.
Despite costing £12,000 a day to run the hospice and £4m a year, all of the services are entirely free of charge to patients and their families. We are looking for an experienced Individual Giving Fundraiser to join the fundraising team at this fabulous hospice.
The Role
As Individual Giving Fundraiser you will be responsible for planning and executing appropriate in-memory, legacy and general mailed appeals & marketing campaigns. Duties will include:
- Building a plan to promote in-mem & celebration fundraising
- Working collaboratively with the Fundraising and Marketing Teams delivering campaigns and communications across all channels to maximise income streams
- Managing legacy administration, building and stewarding strong, mutually beneficial relationships with solicitors, will writers, spiritual leaders and funeral directors
- Actively contributing to the development of the Income Generation Business Plan and budgets
- Working with Local Hospice Lottery (liaising with 3rd party provider) to increase the number of venues & players
The Person
To be successful in this extremely exciting role we are looking for an experienced and personable fundraiser. You will possess excellent writing and communication skills, along with experience of using a customer relationship management database and knowledge of fundraising CRM.
Experience of creating engaging appeals with budgets and on time is desirable as is experience line managing or supervising staff or volunteers. You will be willing and able to independently travel to external meetings and events and have the ability to show empathy with good emotional intelligence. Maintaining a positive professional approach when representing the Hospice will be essential at all times.

Income Generation and Development Officer
We are looking for an experienced individual who will:
- Contribute to the development of an overarching fundraising plan
- Review and develop current fundraising channels and plan, support and deliver imaginative fundraising activities

• Prepare regular reports on communication and fundraising activities, outcomes, and financial performance for the leadership team & trustees.
Donor Relations

The Role

- Knowledge of global animal welfare, within an international development context would be beneficial

Harris Hill is working with an international environmental charity, who are looking to cover an interim Communications Officer role for 3dpw, on a remote basis. This covers permanent recruitment.
The role itself will run until Christmas and possibly the new year. We are looking for an immediate start.
The post of the Communications Officer reports directly to the CEO, but works with internal fundraising, programme and marketing teams to promote the work of the charity, report on fundraising and manage communications to various stakeholders and supporters.
This role follows a period of outsourcing their work to an agency, so this brings this work back in house, with a handover happening before they total removal in December, but also covering the permanent recruitment period.
The purpose of the Communications Officer is to raise the profile of the charity, to highlight the work they do, reach current supporters and allow to increase our supporter base. The role will deepen engagement and ensure that the brand identity, messaging and tone of voice build a coherent, compelling and distinctive brand.
In a typical day, you could be writing a press release announcing new funding partnerships, speaking to the programmes team to develop impact stories that showcase their work transforms lives, you could be designing an impact report for one of their programmes, supporting ongoing fundraising campaigns through social media communications or developing a monthly newsletter to supporters.
Experience:
A strong track record of delivering engaging social media content across different channels and audiences to support organisational priorities.
Excellent writing skills, able to adapt for different channels and audiences. Compelling and grammatically correct.
Experience of using creative software such as Illustrator, Premiere, Canva and Photoshop
Basic video editing skills.

The RSPB, Europe’s leading nature conservation NGO, is seeking a Director of Supporter Fundraising to lead the charity’s work in recruiting and stewarding the next generation of individual supporters to help address the nature and climate emergency.
The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) is a charity for the conservation of birds and nature, bringing people together who love birds and other wildlife, and who want to take action to restore the health and diversity of the natural world. The charity now manages and protects 160,000 hectares of land across the four countries of the UK.
Public support has been at the centre of RSPB’s work since its foundation as a campaigning organisation in 1889. With 1.1 million current members contributing over £95m to the charity’s cause in 2024, the RSPB has set itself a bold ambition to increase supporter numbers and net income from this core area.
Working closely with the Executive Director for Income and Conservation Investment and other senior stakeholders across RSPB, the Director of Supporter Fundraising will ensure that the organisation maintains and increases its income in membership, individual giving, legacies, in memoriam and community fundraising. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in growing a large and complex individual giving or subscription programme across multiple products and channels. They will also have demonstrable experience of leading successful organisational transformation to create long-term value, as well as of leading projects within a complex stakeholder or matrix management environment. Significant experience in individual supporter fundraising or consumer marketing through direct marketing techniques will be essential.

To coordinate and grow York Mind’s community and events fundraising income through effective networking, event, and volunteer coordination.
This role sits within our Corporate Wellbeing Service team, where you will mainly work alongside our Head of Corporate Wellbeing Services and Corporate Fundraiser, to generate income for the charity through community engagement and events. You will be responsible for meeting the annual community and events income target. The role will require someone with strong organisational skills, and prior experience as a Fundraiser in another organisation. You will divide your time between developing, planning, and running events, supporting people to raise money on behalf of York Mind, and creating new relationships in the community, such as with schools and sports clubs. We have an annual calendar of both internal and external events, including our annual Mental Elf run, as well as challenges such as the York 10k and Yorkshire Marathon. Your role will be to fill events, and effectively steward and support people to raise as much money as possible through their participation. As part of your role in event coordination, you will be responsible for our fundraising volunteer base, including recruitment and effective utilisation of volunteers at our various events. Flexibility will be key, as some events happen on evenings and weekends. Another important part of this role will be engaging and developing relationships with community supporters. You should have strong interpersonal skills and enjoy getting out and about in the community (eg. sports clubs/community organisations) to grow our supporter base and look after those who we currently work with. Finally, the Corporate Wellbeing Services Team work collaboratively and therefore you should be able to work effectively as part of a team and be willing to support others in their roles to ensure the effective running of the whole department. BACKGROUND
The External Communications Officer forms part of the Communications and Engagement Directorate, reporting into the Senior External Communications Manager. Given the growth of the Institute, the external communications officer would join a busy team in a vibrant and energetic communications and marketing department. The postholder manages a wide portfolio of projects, announcements and collaborations, working with stakeholders and partner organisation at the local, national and international level. The External Communications Officer will provide proactive comms planning and project management, media support, advice and expertise on matters relating to the Institute’s external communications.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
We’re seeking a candidate with strong written & oral communication skills and demonstrable experience of collaborating with peers & technical experts to create engaging, insight driven communication plans. You should have strong knowledge of current communication industry trends and experience in working with the media in a press office or communications environment.
