Then this could be the role for you. At the Digital Poverty Alliance, we are looking for our new Development Manager. We need someone who can lead our development function whilst working alongside our CEO, managing a range of fundraising initiatives whilst also using sales techniques to raise awareness of our Industry Forum and school Donation Management Service (DMS).
This is an exciting, high profile and fast-paced role, joining our small team and working alongside partners, schools and our wider stakeholders to effect real change for people. You will report directly to the Chief Executive.
This is an exciting time to join us. Our work splits into two main areas – the first is advocacy and research, where we seek partnerships that will allow us to grow our nationwide campaigns and calls for action, as set out in the DPA’s National Delivery Plan. The second, a growth area for us, is delivery of programmes that help real people – such as our Tech4 suite of initiatives, which support a range of beneficiaries, but commonly young people and families, to access kit, connectivity, skills and support, and our Donation Management Service which works on a school by school basis to ensure parental donations support year groups gain class-wide one to one devices.
The Development Manager will work with the CEO and our team to facilitate this growth in impact, understanding and influence and encourage new partnerships, while ensuring our donors and supporters feel informed and engaged.
As an initiative, the DPA aims to work through partners in delivering to our core mission and, as such, we retain only a small core team. As such, you’ll lead on the fundraising function and the DMS relationships, but work within a highly supportive team where income targets are shared.
Whilst the role is remote based, you will regularly need to attend in-person meetings and events in central London (daytime and evening), as well as undertaking travel across the UK. This will include supporting set up at conferences and events, and may include overnight stays. A driving licence is not essential.
You will be ready to “roll up your sleeves” and get involved in other projects at times, as part of a small and dedicated team, and take on administrative and logistical tasks.
Key responsibilities
- Writing grant applications, bids and proposals to corporates, public sector and third sector organisations as part of formal and informal fundraising application processes.
- Secure new memberships to the Digital Poverty Alliance Industry Forum, a corporate membership scheme for businesses seeking to take action on digital poverty, working with the CEO and colleagues leading on policy and public affairs.
- Lead on bringing in new client schools for the DMS, growing the network of schools and families supported by and supporting this programme.
- Lead the account management process for schools who are part of our Donation Management Service (DMS) programme, retaining existing customers.
- Work with CEO and SMT to create and maintain strong fundraising partnerships with large and small organisations key to our work.
- Work with the CEO to spot new opportunities for initiatives with an eye to developing new corporate partnerships and sponsorships, whilst working within the resources of a small organisation.
- Identifying grant routes, commissioning opportunities, potential consultancy clients and donor opportunities, including prospect research.
- Iterate our fundraising strategy for increasing income, including developing new ideas to drive revenue.
- Provide support to the CEO who manages the largest strategic partnerships.
- Contribute to marketing, PR, social media and related communications activities in relation to partner activities and digital fundraising, including leading the marketing strategy for the DMS.
- Prepare high quality collateral and assets to support partnership working, including presentations and reports.
- Work with colleagues to role model best practice in partnership development.
- Project manage initiatives related to fundraising, using recognised tools and techniques.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the digital poverty landscape, including across policy, research and interventions, to inform partner development.
NB: This role will require attending meetings in London and travel across the UK, and may include occasional evening work or overnight stays. As part of a small team, this will include attending conferences, exhibiting on behalf of the DPA, and supporting other events.

Job Purpose
Reporting to our PR Lead, the PR Manager will play a crucial role raising the profile of Save the Children UK amongst key target audiences, by developing and delivering projects that command media attention and coverage.
As a key member of the PR, Artists & Broadcast team, the appointee will apply their experience working with the media to shape major income- and influence-generating campaigns and build our brand.
You will also work alongside a wide spectrum of internal and external stakeholders, including high-profile ambassadors, influencers and corporate partners.

The PR Manager's key duties will be:
Strategy and Project Management
Work closely with team members in other departments within Save the Children to provide excellent PR support to develop and execute creative ways to deliver on Save the Children's objectives. Delivery to include:
- Brand – Build high profile and positive perceptions of Save the Children and its cause across all audiences via PR. Communicate our brand promise and build understanding with the public and opinion formers, demonstrating the depth, scale, impact and complexity of our work.
- Campaigns – Provide PR support to deliver across high–profile moments across Save the Children's major campaigns such as Christmas Jumper Day in order to achieve mass audience engagement.
- Compelling storytelling - Engage audiences through impactful child-centric stories, championing children's voices in order to empower the communities we work with.
- Reputation management – Support the wider team to protect Save the Children's reputation and identify issues relating to corporate risk management.
Delivering Media Coverage
- Develop and execute mass-market PR plans that amplify key strategic campaigns and initiatives across the calendar year, including brand, fundraising and advocacy priorities.
- Identify and maximise opportunities to generate reactive media coverage, responding effectively to external events, news and the cultural conversation.
- Write, co-ordinate and issue media releases, statements, briefing materials and Q&As, including for high-profile spokespeople and corporate partners, if required.
- Plan, manage and participate in overseas and UK trips to Save the Children programmes for the purpose of generating coverage and content – including hosting journalists and high-profile supporters.
- Commission and manage multimedia crews and organise PR shoots, with the purpose of generating world-class film and photography content that commands media attention.
- Develop and nurture close working relationships with journalists (especially those on features, women's, lifestyle, showbiz outlets) across print, digital and broadcast media - including a diverse range of outlets beyond mainstream media.
- Leverage social media and new technologies develop digital-first PR campaigns, including influencer activations.
- Represent Save the Children as spokesperson externally, networking and building relationships that support brand building activity in the media.
- Take part in the on-call and out of hours media rota. This will see you handling media enquiries and proactively pushing out stories on the weekend and out of hours during the week.
- Support PR Leads and Head of PR, Artists and Broadcast as required in the smooth-running of the team, including chairing meetings and carrying out administrative tasks.
About you
To be successful in this role, it is important that you have:
- Experience working in a busy, high-pressure Press Office, Public Relations agency or in-house.
- Experience developing and executing PR strategies, including across multiple media platforms and involving different stakeholders.
- Excellent personal contacts with journalists, PR and Marketing professionals.
- A track record of success in obtaining media coverage in a variety of outlets for PR initiatives, backed up by portfolio of coverage.
- Outstanding ability to pitch stories to key external contacts and senior media professionals.
- Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas, often at short notice.
Abilities:
- Exceptional organisational skills, including ability to juggle short-term projects with longer-term ones.
- Sound strategic thinking and planning skills, including ability to manage time effectively and set deadlines.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to express self clearly, persuasively and a cohesive way and tailor communications to different audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and make decisions on what to prioritise when working under pressure on a number of projects.
- Excellent writing skills – including writing compelling press releases, features and comment pieces.

Ways of Working:
The majority of our roles can be performed remotely in the UK, but there are likely to be times when you will be required to come to your contracted office (up to 2-4 days per month or 6-8 days per quarter). About the role:

The Role

The role of the Events team within Alpha International is to oversee the organising of Leadership Conference (LC) in-person, any events around Leadership Conference (including Donor events, Wednesday CEF event, Alpha Staff day, regional satellite events) and London-based Alpha events across the year (such as Alpha Collective and Experience Alpha).
The Responsibilities
Events Manager
o Line managing the assigned event coordinators, temporary staff or office volunteers.
o This will include annual appraisals and weekly 1-2-1’s
o Helping to recruit and line-manage casual workers
o Helping with day to day running and support of the team for the staff assigned to this role.
Logistical arrangements:
o Development and execution of the events Day Plan. This is a minute-by-minute detailed plan that holds all the information of what will take place at the event.
o Gathering technical and logistical requirements from speakers, stream leaders and internal departments; then negotiating this with the IT, Production, Vergers and Volunteers Teams or with an external venue or AV suppliers.
o Determining catering requirements and caterer management.
o Hiring of any additional venues as required and site logistics.
o Attending site visits (for external venues that might be used).
o Hiring of any additional equipment required for the event.
o Liaising with the Production, IT, Verger, Worship team and all other internal departments.
o Ensuring any legal and insurance tasks are thought about and in place for the event taking place.
o Creating floor plans for the vergers to use.
o Liaising on interpretation needs are met including BSL.
o Liaising regarding speakers and associated tasks including contracts, gifts and accommodation.
o Liaising and implementing programme decisions.

Marketing and communications:
o Working closely with the marketing team on the marketing plan and budget.

Lambourne End Centre are looking to recruit a Fundraising and Marketing Coordinator. The post holder will be responsible for raising revenue and capital funds primarily from trusts, companies and through organising fundraising events to support the work of the Centre. They will also be required to promote the Centre to potential funders, user groups and the public, especially via the Centre’s website and social media channels. 2024 marks a hugely important milestone for the Latymer Foundation - its their 400th anniversary!
The Latymer Foundation at Hammersmith was established in 1624 by Edward Latymer, a lawyer and local landowner, with the aim of offering financial support to eight children living in the area, providing them with clothes and giving them an education. An education which would not otherwise have been possible for them to access.
Today, the Foundation runs Latymer Upper and Prep School and one of its main aims is to provide bursaries (financial support for school fees) to as many local children as possible, ensuring that any promising and talented child can access a first-class Latymer education, regardless of their family's financial situation.
As of September 2023, the Foundation is supporting bursaries for 1 in every 5 students at Latymer Upper School, and is aiming to increase this to 1 in 4 students by 2024.
The Role
Reporting to the Director of Development, the Fundraising Manager is a key member of a sector leading development team. Latymer's bursary programme is one of the most successful in any UK independent school. Since 2002, the number of pupils receiving means tested support has grown from just 7 to more than 280 as of September 2023, the majority of whom receive between 75-100% fee remission.
This growth has only been possible thanks to philanthropy through the Latymer community: parents, alumni, Governors, staff, and students.
The Fundraising Manager is at the heart of the community fundraising, focussing on the full cycle of cultivation, solicitation and stewardship
Responsibilities:
* Develop and deliver the strategy and tactics to increase giving and participation in support of our annual bursaries appeals (including Upper School and Prep) using a range of channels and touchpoints (e.g. DM, digital, phone campaign, events, face to face)
* Design the stewardship matrix and tactics to thank our supporters and develop compelling content that surprises and delights our donors, including events and the delivery of our annual campaign impact report, Campaign Review
* Provide a supporter experience that increases conversion and retention and builds long-term commitment to the Foundation, especially important this year as we celebrate Inspiring Minds and start to focus on future campaigns
* Develop case studies to illustrate the impact of donations across communications and devise ways to increase opportunities to see these stories
* Utilise insight and data to set, monitor and evaluate appeal/activity performance and inform future tactics
* Manage the process of researching potential donors and other potential supporters of the Foundation
* Manage portfolio of leadership giving donors to make individual approaches to mid-level donors in support of the Bursaries Appeal
* Work closely with the Bursaries Appeal volunteers to raise awareness of the bursaries
* programme and increase giving particularly amongst current parents
* Oversee the student-led bursaries fundraising Club (RAISE)
* Prepare the annual budget proposal for all fundraising appeals for submission to the
Director of Development, focussing on ROI for fundraising channels

About the role:
