Engagement Lead Health Inequity

This is an exciting opportunity to work with those affected by stroke and those working in stroke, to focus on the health inequity that stroke survivors experience. We are looking for an innovative, passionate and professional individual with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to join our leadership team in the South West – specifically Bath & North East Somerset.

Position: S11188 Engagement Lead Bath and North East Somerset Health Inequity project

Location: Homebased, Bath and North East Somerset with frequent travel within the Bath and North East Somerset area, however travel will be required outside of this area for team meetings or other work related meetings

Hours: Part-time, 14 hours per week (flexible working available)

Salary: Circa £17,512 per annum (FTE circa £43,700)

Contract: This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months. This project is a time limited piece of work.  We are initially recruiting for a 12-month period, with the possibility at the end to extend.

The Role

The project has recently been through the research and design phase and is now ready to implement a number of tests to address health inequities experienced by Stroke survivors following their stroke. The project exploration and design has taken a collaborative approach with our NHS colleagues, the Engagement Lead will continue with this approach.

Reporting to the Associate Director for the South West & Channel Islands, the Engagement Lead will:

· Lead and oversee the project tests, measuring the impact with an ability to adapt and flex as the project develops.

· Have responsibility for developing the project with a test and learn approach.

· Hold themselves and those involved to agreed timescales & actions.

· Have responsibility for management of the project budget.

· Lead the engagement work with the NHS & those affected by stroke

· Have line management responsibility for the project Engagement Officer

About You

The post holder will have experience/background in:

· Experience of working in partnership with other organisations, ideally in voluntary, health and social care

· Project management, delivery and impact measurement.

· Strong understanding of systems leadership and influencing principles.

· Knowledge of health and social care systems.

· Strong understanding of health inequity and its impact.

This role requires frequent travel across the Bath and North East Somerset area, with occasional travel further for meetings and training. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can meet this requirement of the role.

The Queen's Nursing Institute is looking for a Digital Engagement Officer. The post holder will be a key contributor to the QNI's digital content and support the QNI's digital infrastructure including websites, social media, financial administration and Customer Relationship Management system. This is an exciting role which will allow someone with creativity and precision to grow and demonstrate their potential, within a supportive and friendly team environment. 

Our highly committed Regional Casework Coordinators are SSAFA’s front line of support for members of the armed forces community in need. They are the first point of contact for all beneficiaries into the North East England & Yorkshire Regional Office, assessing needs and allocating the case to one of our volunteer caseworkers.

You will sometimes handle complex problems from individuals who may be distressed, identifying the presenting and potential underlying needs to determine the best way to support the beneficiary. You will have ownership of cases from beginning to end, coordinating the casework process in a timely manner and ensure that the beneficiary journey is at the centre of the Service. You will have the opportunity to shape processes and procedures within the office which will lead to improvements in the service offered to clients.

To help you establish yourself in this new post you will receive excellent training and induction to SSAFA.

Whilst the post is homebased, to be eligible for this role you are required to live in the North East England or Yorkshire region, which includes North, South, East and West Yorkshire, Teesside, County Durham, Tyne & Wear and Northumberland. There will be occasional travel around these areas and you may be required to travel at short notice for face to face meetings.

The post is part time, three days per week, working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays.

About the team

The team works remotely and prides itself in maintaining a close working bond which ensures the smooth operation of the office. You will work closely with volunteers from the eight SSAFA branches in these regions, supporting them to administer casework for SSAFA beneficiaries. The wider support team includes a Casework Manager and a Regional Operations Manager.

About you

To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of providing welfare advice in key areas such as, housing benefits, debt, disability, mobility or immigration issues. You will have knowledge of safeguarding and GDPR, along with experience in dealing with sensitive information and people in vulnerable situations. You will be able to provide excellent customer service by telephone, e-mail and face to face. You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard. It is important that you have experience of planning and managing your own workload, with minimal supervision.

It would be advantageous if you have an understanding of the way of life for today’s Armed Forces, veterans and their families, along with supporting volunteers. An understanding of the voluntary sector and preferably the military charity sector landscape across the North East & Yorkshire would be valuable.

About the role 

Demand for support for people experiencing homelessness is changing and we have a vacancy in our front facing Engagement and Assessment service. 

This service provides first line support to people experiencing homelessness, assessing their needs, identifying support, and working with other staff and services to address their homelessness. 

We need someone to join this team as a receptionist to increase our capacity to respond to new and existing members of Crisis. 

As the first point of contact, our Engagement and Assessment service greets individuals who are experiencing homelessness or facing a risk of homelessness. You will be working in a fast paced and often challenging environment, explaining and guiding people through the Crisis service offer, and signposting to other local support services. You will need to create a welcoming and encouraging environment, to ensure that people seeking support feel understood and respected. 

No two days are the same, and you will be greeting people, helping signpost to appropriate services and responding to telephone and email enquires in a positive and supportive way. This is a key role as you will be part of a members journey out of homelessness, right from their first presentation. 

About you 

As a receptionist you have a real opportunity to demonstrate your compassion and empathy for people experiencing homelessness as our first point of contact at Crisis. 

Sometimes visitors are distressed by their situation and this role would suit someone who is both resilient and compassionate. 

You will need to have strong communication skills, be able to listen and respond even when people are demonstrating their distress through their language and behaviour. This is where you will demonstrate confidence in your ability to assertively challenge inappropriate behaviour and de-escalate conflict. 

You will develop professional relationships with our members who regularly attend and become part of their progression out of the most difficult of personal circumstances. Our current team tell us how rewarding and motivating this can be. 

You will need to be able to help manage the reception area, spot potential concerns and safety issues and respond to these to ensure that reception is a safe space for new and existing members, and other colleagues. 

You will have experience of working with vulnerable people, balancing this together with an excellent level of customer service, IT skills and an ability to accurately record sensitive information. 

You will be interested in evolving your skills and playing an active role as we continue to develop our Engagement and Assessment service further.

Animal Trust Vets is looking for an ambitious, analytical, and organised Digital and Social Communications Specialist to join our central team in Cheshire. We seek someone with the drive, passion, and knowledge to expertly elevate our digital brand presence across all our digital communications.

The successful candidate will create inspirational content to promote the Animal Trust mission and elevate the brand nationally with the veterinary industry and the consumer.

This is a permanent, part-time (24 hours a week) hybrid role, but you will be expected to spend time at our surgeries to gather content.

The life of a Digital Communications Specialist at Animal Trust will involve the following:
 

• Developing and delivering our digital plan to ensure we have an active, targeted, and high-quality online presence.
• Plan, create and schedule our social media content, providing weekly performance reports.
• Conduct research and analysis of our SEO data to optimise content for search engine performance and provide weekly reports.
• Act as the gatekeeper of the website, ensuring it is optimised and kept up to date.
• Generate and publish content and monitor website analytics to drive engagement and highlight areas for enhancement.
• Write compelling, creative content and messaging for digital communication channels, including website, printed material, and blog posts.
• Engage effectively with our social followers to educate users about the Animal Trust mission and manage negative comments.
• Creating multi-media content, including photography, video, infographics, and social media templates.
• Provide expert tech guidance, review existing tools, and help to identify new solutions as our digital expert.
• Stay current with emerging industry trends, innovations, and technology, adopt best practices in digital marketing, including web accessibility and usability, and share these insights with the team.
   

To be a successful Digital Communications Specialist you’ll need:
 

• Professional or higher qualification in communications, marketing, digital marketing, or other relevant areas - experience without qualifications will be considered.
• Previous experience in a digital communications role
• A proven track record in digital marketing encompassing SEO, social media marketing, PPC campaigns and content creation.
• Experience in creating and managing social media channels and content creation.
• Demonstrably up to date with emerging digital trends and an interest in online community building.
• Experience using social and digital reporting tools like Google Analytics, SEMrush, Sprout Social and Facebook Business Manager.
• Experience in maintaining a website.
• Expert-level knowledge of social media and digital channels.
• Ability to turn around strategic, engaging content quickly.
• Excellent understanding of what makes a great story and how to convey it most compellingly while staying on brand.
• Strong understanding of SEO principles and best practices.
• Hands-on experience with SEO/SEM, Google Analytics, Adobe CC, and CRM software.
• Excellent attention to detail, solutions-focused skills, and the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.

Purpose of the Post

To ensure the development of a strategic communication, marketing, and engagement strategy for the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector within the Bradford District and Craven Health and Care Partnership. Emphasise and amplify the VCSE’s role in enhancing population health addressing health inequalities and fostering collaboration across the wider system. Lead the representation of the VCS Alliance, and wider VCSE sector, in strategic meetings across Bradford District and Craven. Develop and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders operating at grassroots and strategic levels, including Communications Leads at Community First Yorkshire, Public Health and the NHS.

Background

This is an exciting new opportunity to develop a strategic approach to VCSE voice and influence across the Bradford District and Craven Health and Care Partnership to support good population health and health inequality ambitions, specifically relating to healthy minds, healthy children and families and healthy communities. These are three of the five priorities for our Bradford District and Craven Health and Care Partnership.

Our Bradford District and Craven Health and Care Partnership, in collaboration with Bradford Council, NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board and VCSE infrastructure support organisations, have commissioned a new transitional VCSE Activation Contract.

This contract will:

• Strengthen the Sector – through improving the capability of, and address weaknesses in, organisations that directly divert citizens from the statutory health and social care system.
• Activate the Voice and Influence of Citizens and the VCSE Sector to ensure insight and experience of diverse citizens and VCSE organisations inform and support activity which takes pressure off front line health and social care services.
• And will seek out the voices and insight of the most marginalised communities and those of the VCSE organisations that are working with and supporting those groups to achieve the outcome described above. This citizen voice is a key theme to how we make decisions across our place – Bradford District and Craven.

During this coming year we will work together as partners driven by our ethos to ‘Act as One’ to focus on our shared ambition of people living ‘happy, healthy at home’. Specifically taking pressure off front health and care front line services

Special conditions
As part of this role, you will be required to work and travel across the Bradford District and Craven. While the VCS Alliance supports hybrid working, there is an expectation that you will be based at the office for at least two days per week.

About the team

We’ve seen some incredibly significant changes in Shelter over the past four years, with a radical shift in our organisational strategy and the consequent need to change our ways of working fundamentally. The Internal Communication and Engagement Team is one of five teams within our Equity, Inclusion and Culture directorate and we’re responsible for delivering effective communication and engagement activity so that our people feel connected to our organisation and each other.

About the role

This is an exciting new role within our Internal Communications and Engagement team, reporting to the Head of Internal Communication and Engagement, you’ll be responsible for not only supporting Shelter in engaging people in our strategy and the work we do, but also helping to build and shape our organisational culture.

We’ll rely on you to contribute to the development of Shelter’s listening strategy as well as designing and managing a range of listening opportunities that can maximise upward communication. Working closely with stakeholders, you’ll evaluate effective employee engagement approaches, analysing and summarising staff feedback data to identify themes while making recommendations for action planning. Acting as a project manager for all of our employee engagement initiatives, you’ll proactively identify and address issues related to our employee engagement while providing the right solutions. You’ll also be working alongside our EIC Senior Leadership Team to help review Shelter’s culture and support the implementation of a culture development plan that not only integrates our core values but also builds a sense of belonging while embedding our commitment to anti-racism.

About you

You’ll have experience of designing and delivering internal communications and engagement plans, as well as being able to implement a range of techniques to engage diverse audiences in organisational change. You’ll know what drives engagement, how to nurture strengths and deliver areas for improvement. What’s more, you’ll have knowledge about developing and integrating organisational values and behaviours and you’ll have experience of implementing listening strategies, including managing a framework of tools to capture views.

You’re adept at developing excellent relationships and can interact effectively with diverse internal audiences. You’ll be confident in devising research, analysing data and creating summary reports. As well as having experience of managing projects and producing events, you’ll also have advanced digital skills and knowledge of tools to communicate effectively. A proactive problem-solver, you’ll be comfortable to use your initiative and really get stuck into your role.
