Our shops generate valuable income to support our services, create opportunities for homeless people to learn new skills and contribute to Crisis’ work in the community. They have a unique contemporary visual identity and are dynamic and creative places to work.

About the role

As Assistant Shop Manager, you will play a key role in managing everyday operations to deliver an outstanding customer experience. You will be involved in volunteer recruitment and management as well as processing donations, engaging with the community, and delivering the highest standard of customer service through your team. You will work towards ambitious targets, including leading on creative initiatives to drive sales and community engagement maximising the impact on our mission to end homelessness.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference and deliver positive social impact in the local community while also raising money to fund Crisis’ work ending homelessness.

This is a permanent role. You will be primarily based in one shop within London Zones 1-2; location will be agreed at the time of a job offer. You may also be required to travel to other shops within London on a short-term basis.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have retail experience at a supervisory level alongside a genuine interest in charity retail. You will be seeking a challenge that stands out from other retail roles and will be keen to build your people management skills including working with Crisis members. Yorkshire Children’s Charity is seeking a Trusts and Foundations Manager to work with the CEO to develop and grow a fundraising strategy. You will be responsible for all Trusts and Foundations income generation and you will be expected to deliver high-value fundraising proposals.

Core Functions Trusts and Foundations to Include:

· Maintaining and growing the database of trusts and foundations with potential to support Yorkshire Children’s Charities, prospecting funders for new and growing programmes. You will have access to FundsOnline to support prospecting.

· Work with our Board of Trustees to map connections with Trusts & Foundations and establish a plan of introductions/stewardship to be managed by Trustees

· Proactively seek out trusts and foundations who support capital projects.

· Work with the CEO to develop a funding strategy for the Great Yorkshire Build.

· Work closely with the CEO to develop corporate partnerships.

· Manage Trust income in line with donor requirements.

· Identify and build relationships with trusts and foundations through proactive stewardship to secure new donors and retain existing donors.

· Deliver high quality and engaging content, including but not limited to:

o Funding proposals/applications/Case for Support/’One-pager’ pitches

o Impact reports

o Charity award applications

o Corporate fundraising applications

o Speeches and appeals

o Annual report

o Case study/content bank

· Work closely with the Programmes Team to continue developing the impact measurement framework, collecting, analysing and effectively reporting on charitable output and impact.

· Working closely with the Programmes Team to support the development of new programmes from a funding perspective e.g., our new Forest School Programme in development.

· Ensure we report to trusts/foundations and donors on our charitable output.

· Contribute to the charities newsletters, e-campaigns and external communications to ensure supporters know how their donations are being spent.

· Work closely with the CEO to build and develop the charities subscription offering and maintain existing members.

We are recruiting a Challenge Events Fundraiser to grow PAPYRUS’ challenge event income by leading on allocated PAPYRUS own events, projects and campaigns and managing all third-party challenge events.

What you will do:

· Develop an events plan that will grow income using data from previous years to understand our supporters and build a creative and sustainable income plan for long term growth.

· Build and manage relationships with supporters across all communication channels and provide professional, relevant, timely and empathetic stewardship at all times.

· Raise awareness of PAPYRUS and its work by developing and delivering presentations and talks both online and face to face to supporters and facilitating necessary photo opportunities in line with GDPR for use if future promotional activity

· Manage costs and budgets for events, including forecasting, estimates and future year planning.

· Be proactive seeking out new initiatives and market trends in fundraising across the UK charitable sector.

· Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of PAPYRUS challenge event fundraising assets, collateral, materials, and policies and procedures ensuring all content is on brand and to a high standard.

· Working with colleagues in Business Support Services to use the data collected across all donation platforms to analyse and inform required reports and update existing reporting mechanisms.

To be successful in this role you will have:

· Previous experience of working in a fundraising role for a UK registered charity

· Experience of successfully managing a portfolio of third-party events

· Proven track record of successful relationship management with donors/ fundraisers

· Proven track record of working effectively in a team

· Experience in creating and monitoring budgets

· Experience using Raiser’s edge or a similar CRM database.

· Knowledge of regulatory environment for fundraising from events fundraising including sponsorship, data protection, Gift Aid (incl GASDS) and Fundraising Codes of Practice and regulation

· Good knowledge of data selection, data analysis, insight and application of datasets for maximum success

· Understanding of events fundraising

· Competence in the use of IT tools including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

· Ability to work some unsocial hours and travel to meetings / events as required across the UK

Role Profile

You’ll work in a multifunctional, three person project team alongside a Digital Strategy Manager and Digital Creative Expert. The three of you will cover everything needed to execute your projects, coordinating with our technology team and working with external design capacity to deliver outstanding results for your partners, and renew and grow your partnerships.

The teams are designed to be flexible and nimble, chopping and changing who does what to best meet the needs of the project and the capacity of each team member. However, each role has a set of primary areas of expertise which you’ll typically be in charge of on most projects. As the team’s expert in those areas, it’s your responsibility to make sure your team does them to an exceptional standard, whether you’re delivering them yourself or supporting a team member to cover them on a given project.

As a Digital Strategy Expert, your primary areas of expertise are all things strategy, project management and delivery. Your key role in the team is to make sure the execution of our projects is smooth, efficient and high quality, whether that’s through smart strategic planning, tight project management or insightful data analysis. As well as taking ads management and email and page builds on some projects, you’ll also be called on to support the DCE with copywriting and potentially the DSM with proposal writing.

What you’ll do as part of our team

• Project management

  • Overseen by the Digital Strategy Manager, you’ll manage projects from conception through to build, coordinating work from both our creative and tech teams

  • Being the key point of contact for our partners on specific project strands, communicating with them via email, ClickUp, Slack and on video calls 

  • Ensuring all projects you manage are delivered on time and to scope, flagging any over-servicing or scope changes with the DSM

  • Coordinating with freelancers as required 

• Building partner relationships

  • As the person that is most in contact with our partners across project delivery, you play a key role in ensuring we build strong relationships of trust and longevity 

  • Ensuring we respond to partners in a timely manner and work with them to troubleshoot any bumps along the way 

• Strategy and planning

  • Develop strategy for the projects on which you lead, work with the DSM as needed to ensure we are always delivering strategic excellence 

  • Schedule and attend planning and project review meetings with clients

  • Take part in brainstorms to generate ideas for tactics that help our clients hit their goals

• Reporting & data analysis

  • Analyse the results of tests and tactics and provide strategic recommendations to partners based off them

• Ads setup and management

  • Builds ads (primarily in Meta) for our partners, ensuring an effective targeting strategy 

  • Ensure we are always optimising ad spend and suggesting changes in approach in line with results 

• Builds 

  • Working from templates to set up pages on EN/Blueprint as required and ensuring all pages are fully QAd before launching 

  • Coordinating with the tech team to manage more complicated builds 

  • Building emails as required by partners 

• Contribute to the wider team 

  • Actively participate in all-team meetings, contributing ideas and adding insights 

  • Play an active role in supporting our team culture, ensuring you adopt an inclusive approach 

Abilities and experience you’ll need to have

• 1.5+ years’ experience working in digital campaigning or digital fundraising, with proven experience of delivering results against goals 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience of managing multiple stakeholders and building strong working relationships across functions 

• Being comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

• Experience of using digital tools to build and send mass emails, comfort with managing lists 

• Excellent organisation and attention-to-detail with ability to juggle multiple priorities and keep to tight deadlines 

• Knowledge of how to plan and deliver a fair A/B experiment

• Experience of managing projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and to scope 

• Experience of managing ads in Meta, and proven ability to interpret the data to optimise against goals 

• Dedication to helping build a fairer, more progressive society

• Fluency in spoken and written English

• The ability to learn quickly. We don’t expect you to know or have done everything when you start - but if you don’t have this, we’ll be looking for evidence that you can pick up new skills and knowledge quickly, then run with them.

Abilities and experience that are nice to have

• Enthusiasm for thinking creatively and coming up with new ideas

• Experience working in the charity sector

Benefits and location 

Salary: £34,162 if you live inside London, £30,502 (plus £3,000 travel expense allowance) if you live outside London. Under our Employee Ownership Trust model, all team members will also receive an equal share of the profits each year. The amount will depend on how much profit is made.

Contract Term: This is a permanent, full time contract.

Hours: We work a 30-hour 4-day week, from Monday to Thursday. Please note - as this is a full time role, you are not permitted to undertake any additional regular paid work on the Friday. 

Location: You can work remotely from anywhere in the UK or use our office in London Fields, East London. You will need to be able to come to London once or twice a month for in-person meetings, otherwise most of our meetings are held via video conferencing and all our workflow is built to be remote-first.

We are looking for a well-organised, highly motivated and passionate individual to join our team as a full-time Youth Worker (Youth Voice), supporting our mission to enable young people who are homeless, facing homelessness or unsafe to achieve independence and positive futures.
The successful candidate will work within the Youth Work Team to deliver our frontline drop-in service and support our weekly and monthly activities to all young people experiencing homelessness.
You’ll specialise in ensuring a diverse range of young people’s voices are heard, facilitating inclusive activities which increase youth participation across all our services and leading on the delivery of our youth forums. We have an ambitious plan to improve and accelerate our youth voice strategy and this role will be at the heart of this delivery.
You should be experienced in designing, planning and facilitating a range of activities and group work with and for young people and be able to work dynamically in a fast-paced day centre environment. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about youth engagement and skilled in bringing out the ideas, voices and opinions of young people to shape service delivery. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with a background in running participatory youth projects, co-production, youth engagement sessions and/or community engagement.
The ideal candidate is a team player who enjoys working collaboratively across our organisation. This role also includes working closely with our Campaigns, Impact and Policy team to ensure young people’s voices are at the heart of our external campaigning work.
Finally, you will also be committed to the safeguarding of young people and delivering an inclusive and trauma-informed service.

This role will be based at our day centre in Camden, with some travel to other New Horizon projects within London.

Your role

As Shop Manager at Scope's Southampton (Portswood Road) shop, you’ll have autonomy to run your shop using your creativity and flair to flourish in our retail environment. Our retail roles are full of variety, and every day is different! One day you might be  generating and processing stock and designing an eye-catching window display. The next day you might be recruiting and training our wonderful volunteers. Every day there will be a different challenge that you’ll find extremely rewarding. You will have relevant experience in retail but a great attitude and willingness to learn is just as important.

As Shop Manager you’ll be passionate about retail and have a love of fashion with experience of running a shop, or you’ll be looking for a management role as the next step in your career. It’s important for you to know that Scope Charity Shops are open every day. So some weekend and Bank Holiday cover is needed. Our full time hours are 35 hours a week, working five days out of seven. Weekly hours for part-time vacancies are on a seven-day rota.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Regional Casework Manager to join the Greater London Region at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity. 

You will be part of the regional office team, managing two Regional Casework Co-ordinators, which will provide specialist administrative and single point of contact support to SSAFA branch-based volunteers, to ensure a consistent, timely and quality service is provided to SSAFA beneficiaries.  The role will require you to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with volunteers, including branch-based casework managers.  At times, the role will require support to the Regional Casework Co-ordinators with call handling, signposting, and the triage of initial enquiries from clients. 

To help you establish yourself in this post you will receive excellent training and induction to SSAFA.  You will influence the processes and procedures within the regional office as it develops, working in a close team and line managed by the Regional Operations Manager. 

The post is home-based, but you will have to travel occasionally into London. 

About the team 

The regional office is a “virtual” office and supports three SSAFA branches in the Greater London region, as the volunteers deliver casework for SSAFA beneficiaries.  The successful candidate will work as part of a support team which includes two Regional Casework Co-ordinators and a Regional Operations Manager.  All team members are home based.

About you 

To be successful in this role you will have a good standard of education, experience of managing employees, together with managing and reporting on service delivery.  You will have a track record of building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, together with achieving results through negotiation and influence.  Previous experience of working with volunteers would be an asset.  You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard and be capable of quickly learning a computerised case management system and be proficient with numbers.  The successful candidate will have experience of planning and managing their own workload, with minimal supervision.

About the role

Senior Quality Assurance Officer

Who are Women’s Aid?

Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. We are a federation of over 170 organisations which provide just under 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across England. For almost 50 years we have campaigned on behalf of our members and survivors to shape policy and practice, and to raise awareness of domestic abuse.

Purpose of the Senior Quality Assurance Officer role: 

As Senior Quality Assurance Officer, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in conducting and innovating Women’s Aid’s National Quality Standards (NQS) offer for member services. Sitting within Women’s Aid’s busy Membership Team, the postholder will successfully lead in supporting member services to continually improve and evidence good quality specialist responses to survivors’ needs in local service provision and will support the internal team alongside external consultant assessors to deliver a strong quality framework that reflects the diversity, and complex work of our members.  A key time for Women’s Aid to connect our policy work, our membership and our strategic campaigning work around the standards that fully represents the unique value of the membership body. 

Key duties and responsibilities of the Senior Quality Assurance Officer:

• To be responsible for the coordination of delivery of Women’s Aid National Quality Standards assessments including ensuring assessment processes are completed in a timely manner. 
• Scheduling Quality Assessment Panels including recruitment of panelists. This will include responsibility for ensuring terms of reference are fulfilled and ensuring potential conflicts of interest are identified and addressed. 
• Presenting assessments to the Quality Assessment Panel in the unavoidable absence of the assessor and notetaking including recording outcomes, actions and decisions where required.
• To support the Chair of the Quality Assessment Panel in conducting panel meetings and highlight areas of risk or conflict to the Chair in advance of meetings.
• Be first point of contact for dealing with appeals and complaints, managing low to middle-risk complaints and escalating to the Membership Resolution Manager as required for high risk complaints. 
• Responsibility for allocation of assessments to internal and consultant assessors ensuring target dates are met and operational considerations, such as location and conflict of interests, are considered. 
•  To conduct quality standards assessments of domestic abuse services, including reviewing evidence, making site visits, writing assessment reports and presenting cases to the Quality Assessment Panel.
• Review of assessment reports for quality, adherence to standards and consistency prior to presentation at Quality Assessment Panel, including giving feedback to the assessor and ensuring this is actioned.
• Develop a clear strategy and delivery plans to support the sustainability and growth of the Women’s Aid National Quality standards including supporting increase of income-generation activities.
• Line management of Quality Assurance Officer including day-to-day support, supervision and appraisal activities.
• To work across WAFE to promote the Women’s Aid National Quality Standards to commissioners and government as the ‘gold standard’ quality framework for services working with women and child survivors of domestic violence.  

What we are looking for in our Senior Quality Assurance Officer:

• Knowledge of quality frameworks appropriate to domestic violence services.  
• Knowledge and proven experience of the principles of quality assurance and good practice in delivering accreditation processes.   
• A very good understanding of the experiences and needs of women and children affected by domestic and sexual violence and violence against women and girls and the intersectionality that impacts this
• Thorough understanding of the role of specialist services supporting women and children at risk of violence against women and girls   
• Experience of writing and producing briefings and reports   
• Experience of planning, delivering and managing projects within a set timeframe and with clear outputs.  
• Experience of providing and/or managing direct services to survivors of violence against women and girls.   
• Excellent verbal, written and computer literacy skills.   
• Ability to analyse complex information and identify the implications for women and children affected by domestic violence and the services supporting them.

The Migraine Trust is the only UK migraine charity providing information and support, campaigning for awareness and change, and funding and promoting research, and has been leading and bringing the migraine community together since 1965. One in seven people in the UK live with migraine. This complex and debilitating neurological disorder can significantly affect many aspects of life including work, school, personal relationships, and feelings of isolation.

Every year over two million people visit The Migraine Trust website for the most up to date information, and thousands contact the helplines for information and support on all aspects of migraine. The Migraine Trust campaign for increased awareness and understanding of migraine, better access to treatment, and national policy change to improve the lives of people who get it.

The Information Manager will coordinate and develop a range of health information needed by the migraine community and people living with migraine to raise awareness to both members of the public and health care professionals. The role is also responsible for ensuring the information on the website is up to date and coordinating and managing Patient Information Forum renewals.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and maintain quality health information: You will manage and update health information, scope, plan, and create new content in consultation with stakeholders, and identify target groups to produce materials to meet their needs. You will work within the Information and Support team constantly communicating with colleagues working on front line services to ensure the information being produced is in line with service users needs. You will also be responsible for managing the organisations PIF processes and assessments.
• Engage with the migraine community: You will hold focus groups to understand information needs, build strategic partnerships to disseminate information effectively, and support staff learning and knowledge-building about migraine.
• Support communication and dissemination: You will work with the Communications team to create accessible information formats, provide content for videos, blogs, and other communication channels and regularly monitor and report on the impact of information provision.
• Research: You will act as the key point of communication for the research committee, manage administrative duties for research funding applications and grants, and coordinate research meetings and liaise with funded researchers for project updates.
• Represent and support the charity: You will represent The Migraine Trust at external events and build relationships with healthcare professionals and stakeholders.

The Information Manager will have solid experience of communicating complex health information to audiences in written and online formats, as well as proven experience of producing information from the research stage through to writing, external review and liaising with designers. The successful candidate will have the ability to gain an in-depth understanding of medical and health related information, including research and critical analysis skills to develop an evidence base. You will have experience working within a health communication environment, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, and meticulous attention to detail with demonstrable editing and proofreading skills. You will have the ability to liaise with key stakeholders, be a self-starter with an ability to work independently and as part of a team and be able to work to tight deadlines. You will have knowledge and understanding of the benefits of patient engagement to produce health information.

The role is home-based with meetings in London once every 3 months which will include overnight stays and some ad hoc national travel. All travel/overnight expenses are covered. We are looking for our Youth President for 2025-2026 to work with the Connexional Team to:

• Enable, encourage and enthuse children and young people to get involved in every aspect of Church life
• Represent and host 3Generate, the Children and Youth Assembly of the Methodist Church
• Listen to the voices of children and young people from across the Methodist Church in Britain and to be advocate for them in the life of the Church at every level – this may involve a lot of independent travel, and evening and weekend travel
• Influence the decision-making of the Church by sharing the opinions and priorities of children and young people

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to travel and work around Britain and overseas, supporting children and young people from all backgrounds. The work is challenging and varied and you will have experience of public speaking, debating, team and independent working, report writing, listening and facilitation, worship leading and more.

Interviews will take place in central London on Friday 13 September 2024. At this time there will be an opportunity to explore and discuss the role more fully.
