About the role:
Reporting to the Senior HR Business Partner, the successful candidate will:
- build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders in specific areas within the charity, acting as a trusted partner for HR related advice.
- develop a thorough understanding of partnered areas including departmental objectives, role and team structures, and key people issues.
- provide tailored HR advice and guidance, using metrics and data to spot trends and identify risks and areas of opportunity.

- work closely with specialist teams in HR to improve people practices.
About you:
Ideally qualified to CIPD level 7 (or with equivalent experience), you will have previously worked in a HR generalist role and will have a proven track record of resolving key people issues through a thorough understanding of departmental activities, and tailoring advice to managers. You will have significant experience in successfully resolving a wide variety of complex ER issues with the ability to build and maintain strong partner relationships, as well as also the ability to communicate complex and sensitive information to diverse audiences.

Purpose

Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Head of Business Development are:
Strategy and leadership:
· Developing and leading our business development strategy and plan to consolidate our current portfolio and move us into new areas of growth.
· Providing strategic oversight and management to improve business development functions and increase fee-based revenue, coordinating across our country offices.
· Building and managing to a high standard a strong business development and communications team aligned to the needs of the organisation.
· Ensuring that we are aware of the latest trends in our focus sectors, monitoring competitors and reviewing Pathways’ offering considering competitors’ developments.
· Participating in the Senior Management Team and contributing to leadership and decision-making across Development Pathways
New business development:
· Setting up and maintaining systems and procedures for detecting potential business and tender opportunities through different channels (e.g. online portals, outreach, etc.)
· Building relationships with decision makers within potential client organisations and partners.
· Developing and growing our network of consultants, ensuring Pathways has access to the right knowledge and skills to implement new projects.
· Overseeing the timely delivery of high-quality proposals, submissions and bids across the organisation.
· Oversee the monitoring and evaluating of our business development opportunities.
Communications and marketing:
· Overseeing our communications portfolio including the development of high-quality materials to promote our services and brand to new clients and to reflect best practice in the thematic areas and locations within which we operate.

· Securing conference opportunities and sustaining general brand development opportunities.

Other:
· Provide effective line management to members of the business development and communications team and external consultants supporting these functions, as required.

We are seeking a dedicated Finance Business Partner to join our team, focused on providing strategic financial support to the Charities team. The Charities team supports Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust via our three Charity brands - Guy’s & St Thomas’ Charity, Evelina London Children’s Charity, and Guy’s Cancer Charity – by providing funding generated through a mix of public fundraising, philanthropic support and contributions from our endowment. As a Finance Business Partner, you will play a crucial role in aligning financial objectives with organisational goals, supporting both fundraising and funding activities, and ensuring financial integrity across all operations. Key Responsibilities
Budgeting, Planning and Reporting:
- Ensure financial reporting, especially the monthly income and expenditure report, is tailored to the organisation's needs and aligned with its structure.
- Lead from a finance perspective the budgeting and forecasting process for Charities' activities, encompassing fundraising, funding, and special fund annual planning.
- Participate in the preparation of the Foundation's consolidated accounting, audit, cash flow forecasting, and planning as needed.
- Data Insight and Integrity:
- Have a thorough understanding of the management, maintenance, flow, and reconciliation of financial data pertaining to charities across diverse systems, including but not limited to Access Financials, Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, and Power BI. Business Partnership:

Knowledge and qualifications
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent).

Experience
- Minimum of 2 years finance working experience alongside fundraisers in a similar or larger fundraising organisation (e.g. Staff number 100+; fundraising income £10 million+).

At Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, we care for children and young people whose lives are just too short. Our aim is to reach every family that needs our help and to offer them the very best choice of care. Did you know that every year we need to raise £6.5m to keep our doors open and only around 16% of our income comes from government sources, the rest has to be raised through fundraising activity.
Our services include short overnight stays and community breaks at home or in the hospice. We also support the whole family from diagnosis with our multi-disciplinary Family Support team who provide counselling, sibling support groups, music therapy and much more. Our care team support these families in our modern, purpose-built building. All our rooms bedrooms have a homely feel. We have a sensory room, spa pool, cinema room and six acres of gardens.
We support families from a large geographical area, including South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire, North Derbyshire and parts of North Lincolnshire. The role:
As our Fundraising Business Partner, you will be at the forefront of our regional fundraising team. You’ll work hand-in-hand with the Income Generation and Communications Director, crafting and implementing innovative, long-term strategies to expand and diversify our income streams. About the Role
In this strategic post as the Community and Business Development Manager for Essex you will play a key role in overseeing our existing work and also contributing to the development of future work within the region.
