The Director of Programmes and Partnerships is responsible for ensuring The Diana Award delivers quality impactful programmes and develops strong strategic partnerships that harness young people's power and potential to change the world. This role is one of four Director-level positions within the organisation, forming the Senior Leadership Team alongside the CEO.

The Programmes Directorate currently comprises four teams: Anti-Bullying, Mentoring, Social Action, and Impact and Influence, with a staff count of 25 plus a pool of associate trainers. The Diana Award’s programme strategy (2021-2026) focuses on embedding evidence-driven, youth-led approaches across our programmes, enhancing our profile as a platform for youth-led social action, and increasing our influence on policies affecting young people.

The Director of Programmes and Partnerships will work collaboratively with other members of SLT and the CEO to drive forward the organisation’s strategy and plans as set out in The Diana Award’s five-year strategy, Future Forward, and play a vital role in shaping the new strategy.

As part of our Future Forward strategy, you will lead on the specific objective to develop and deliver programmes for young people that unlock their potential, create opportunities for growth and inspire action​.

JOB DESCRIPTION 

Senior Leadership

• Drive the organisation’s strategy and vision as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, taking key decisions in the best interest of the organisation.
• Promote best practices across the organisation, including equal opportunities, risk management, data protection, safeguarding, health and safety, volunteer management, continuous improvement, and staff support and development.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders across public, private, and third sectors to ensure high-quality delivery of all The Diana Award’s programmes.
• Represent The Diana Award at external events and act as a media spokesperson as required.
• Prepare reports for the board of trustees and participate in board meetings.

Programme Strategy

• Provide leadership for programmes that deliver high impact, co-designed integrated approaches, which put young people at the centre of design and delivery in line with our theory of change.
• Lead the design, delivery, and review of The Diana Award’s programme strategy, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and conducting quarterly reviews to monitor progress.
• Work with the Impact and Influence team to embed evidence-based programming within the directorate, developing and rolling out appropriate systems and processes for monitoring, evaluation, and learning.
• Oversee The Diana Award’s policy function, supporting the Policy team and heads of teams to develop and embed policy objectives within programme plans, contribute to policy development, and identify opportunities to engage policymakers with our work.
• Identify and develop cross-cutting workstreams and initiatives to support the programme strategy and assist programme managers in their implementation.
• Maximise opportunities for young people to engage meaningfully and inclusively in programme planning, delivery, and review, adhering to sector best practices.
• Collaborate with the Communications and Impact and Evaluation teams to develop robust and compelling resources to communicate programme impact to core audiences.

Programme Partnerships and Funding

• Build and maintain strategic programme and policy partnerships effectively through regular communication and quality report production.
• Identify and cultivate new programme partnerships and funding opportunities to support the growth and sustainability of our work with and for young people.
• In collaboration with the fundraising team and programme heads, develop pitches, products, and funding proposals. 
• Hold budgetary responsibility for the Programmes Directorate and work with heads of teams to develop annual budgets and monitor expenditure.

Team Leadership and Management

• Build a cohesive and engaged Programmes Directorate that embraces The Diana Award’s core values, delivers work to the highest standards, and fosters a culture committed to reflective learning, accountability, and impact.
• Provide strategic and operational oversight on safeguarding as a member of TDA’s safeguarding committee, ensuring that a safeguarding culture is embedded within the programmes directorate and that safeguarding policies and procedures are fully understood and applied across teams.
• Directly line manage heads of teams, enabling them to connect, collaborate, and provide peer support through regular group meetings.
• Manage and support the wider Programme Management Team to collectively plan and deliver against our strategy through regular check-ins and monthly meetings.
• Ensure teams have clear shared and individual work plans, and that regular supervision, appraisals, and team meetings occur to monitor progress.
• Foster effective business partnerships between programme teams and core functions such as safeguarding, Marcomms, Operations, Fundraising, etc.
• Implement appropriate policies and practices for recruiting, onboarding, and managing volunteers in line with sector best practices.
• Encourage and support continuous professional development within the directorate by signposting and seeking relevant opportunities.

PERSON SPECIFICATION 

Skills and Experience

• Substantial experience in a similar leadership role, managing a fast-paced programme portfolio.
• Experience leading and delivering successful large-scale services for young people.
• Strong understanding of evidence-based programming, including using theories of change to guide programme practice.
• Proven experience in fundraising and business development, ideally including commercial projects.
• Proven experience of cultivating new programme partnerships to support service delivery and / or policy engagement.

Summary of the role:

The HR Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day HR operations, focusing on delivering high-quality HR services. The HR Manager will ensure the effective execution of HR processes and the maintenance of HR good practices across Muslim Aid, with a specific focus on using HR metrics to inform strategic decisions.

About the role

We have a new and exciting opportunity to work with us as an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Manager (External) to provide continuity while our EDI Strategy Lead is on maternity leave. Reporting to the Executive Director, Impact and working with key stakeholders and colleagues across the whole organisation, you will help ensure alignment between our external For Everyone Strategic Framework and our new organisational strategy. As a charity for everyone, this framework outlines our approach to embedding equity, diversity and inclusion internally within our organisation and externally in our delivery work.

As the EDI Manager (External) you will be supporting the Senior Leadership Team to deliver core actions from the For Everyone External Action Plan. You will also be responsible for reporting and evaluating progress on the implementation of the For Everyone External Action Plan.

You will be overseeing the consistent implementation of Sustrans Approaches, a new document that sets out the services that Sustrans offers, with a particular focus on inclusive design and delivery. As part of this, you will be providing guidance, training and bespoke support to colleagues, so that they feel confident and competent in inclusive design principles and practice.

Ensuring quality and timely execution, you will be managing specific EDI work projects and change initiatives, as outlined in the External Action Plan and/or Sustrans Approaches. This includes coordinating colleagues across UK-wide teams to share knowledge, resources and good practice on embedding equity, diversity and inclusion across our external projects.

This role will be home-based, with the option of hybrid working. Occasional travel to our hubs across the UK will be required as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.

About you

You should have previous experience of managing and implementing EDI related initiatives in engagement, infrastructure and/or urban planning projects, including supporting colleagues to embed EDI in their work.

You will be skilled in inclusive design principles in the delivery of engagement, infrastructure and/or urban planning projects, including training others to apply inclusive design principles in project delivery. 

You should have successful project management experience, with excellent time management and organisational skills. You will also be accustomed to multitasking to tight deadlines.

Harris Hill are working with a charity that was set up by families bereaved by gambling that provides support, raises awareness of gambling disorder's devastating effects and campaigns for change. This charity is looking for a Fundraising Manager.

Working closely with the Chief Operating & Development Officer, this is an exciting opportunity for a creative, hands-on fundraiser to join an agile, small charity in the second year of its fundraising programme. Fundraising responsibilities will be shared between the postholder and the Chief Operating & Development Officer, with the responsibilities of this post expected to include:

• Identify potential new trusts and foundations, corporate partners, statutory funders or business development and growth opportunities and develop proposals, budgets, pitches and applications
• Develop a corporate engagement plan to promote the charity’s work to companies and organisations, ensuring all funding opportunities are maximised
• Maintain a pipeline of trusts, foundations, statutory, corporate and major donor proposals to secure funding from a diverse and sustainable mix of funders, across multiple years
• Identify and pursue corporate partnership opportunities, including securing meetings and developing applications and proposals

To be considered for this role you will ideally be:

• Track record of raising funds from multiple income streams, which could include trusts, foundations, government and public bodies, corporates, individual giving or community fundraising
• Used to operating dynamically in a mission driven context/sector
• Experience writing compelling fundraising copy, proposals, presentations and reports
• Proven track record of working towards and meeting targets and key performance indicators, including income targets

The salary is £40,000 - £45,000. This is a 1 year fixed term contract, but has scope to be extended or made perm.

About the Team: The Director of Operations will play an integral leadership role in the Resilient Water Accelerator team. They will lead work to establish and deliver processes, governance, funding and operations for the Resilient Water Accelerator (RWA), and to oversee its development from a start-up being incubated within WaterAid to an independent, high-performing organisation. They will report directly into the RWA's CEO, shaping and delivering the future RWA as we evolve and grow to become an established, independent, successful organisation.

About the Role:
As our Director of Operations you will play an integral role in shaping and building this new initiative, creating its governance and processes, supporting its transition from start-up to implementation and in putting it on the path to independence. The RWA currently has 11 staff, based in 6 countries, and we have plans to build the team to around 18-20 over the next couple of years, to extend our delivery from 2 countries (currently Nigeria and Bangladesh) to 6, and to secure additional financing to complement the investment we have secured from the UK Government.

This is an exciting time to join the RWA as we move from our early inception phase to implementation and delivery. We are looking for someone who wants to help us shape and build the RWA in this next phase of work. In this role, you will create and lead the business operations for the team, making sure the RWA is able to deliver its full potential.

The role will include the following responsibilities:

• Business planning: lead work on annual business planning and the development of a 5 year plan, bringing in others in the team and externally to support this work and ensure buy-in. The plan will need to show how the RWA is delivering on funders' objectives as well as demonstrating how the RWA will work with new partners and expand and consolidate its operations, funding and impacts.
• Financial oversight: manage financial activities to ensure the strong performance of the RWA, including regular financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting. The Director will manage the organisation's grant awards, reporting, accounts/audits and contracts with partner organisations, including procurement. They will support the CEO and others on fundraising, and will advise teams (including those in country) on budget availability to inform activities. They will need to work with WaterAid teams on all of these areas, and ensure compliance with WaterAid policies.
• Transition to independence: work with the CEO on plans for the RWA's independence from WaterAid, setting out and analysing options and making recommendations on structure, policies, governance, financing and timing, and overseeing the smooth transition from incubation within WaterAid to RWA being an independent not-for-profit organisation. The Director will need to consider legal, financial, governance, reputational, HR and other elements, seeking relevant external advice to ensure that the transition works for both the RWA and WaterAid. They will also advise on the creation of a Board and Advisory panel, and other relevant structures and relationships.
• Programme and project management: build out programme and project management for the RWA at both a global and country level, including internal reporting, updates and management of team's resources, and risks. Provide frameworks for effective decision-making and information management - including stakeholder databases; monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL); and knowledge management.
• Operational delivery: the Director will oversee the day-to-day internal operational activity of the RWA, and will need to deputise for the CEO in internal and external meetings. This will include shaping engagement with the current Steering Committee, setting team meeting agendas and preparing papers; overseeing recruitment; ensuring reporting to partners is delivered to time and quality; keeping track of contracts; overseeing due diligence; and working with Legal teams on core documentation such as contracts, NDAs and MOUs.

About You:

• At least 10 years' experience of designing and implementing appropriate organisational and operational governance structures, ideally including some time working for a small organisation, start-up or not-for-profit.
• Financial literacy, with experience of financial management in an organisation, preferably in a not-for-profit environment.
• Strong relationship management skills with a range of NGO, government and private sector partners.
• Experience of working with geographically dispersed teams.
• An organised and structured approach to work, managing deadlines and competing priorities.
• Strong communications skills with experience of preparing and presenting clear and timely information to internal and external stakeholders, and of assessing options and making recommendations.
• Able to work on own initiative, providing proactive advice and recommendations; comfortable operating with a degree of uncertainty and change.
• Ideally experience of setting up a new organisation, creating fit-for-purpose policies and helping teams to operate these.
• Ideally an interest and/or experience in development, sustainability and climate change.

Scope of role

The Head of Programme & Organisational Development is also one of two Co-Leads of On Purpose London. As such, they are jointly responsible for the London Associate Programme in partnership with the Co-Lead of On Purpose London who focuses on  Business Development & Community. We find this co-leadership model offers a useful balance of mutual support and challenge, role-modelling how we believe leadership should operate.

You would be part of our cross-organisational leadership team of six city leads and the CEO. This group is a source of valuable peer support and a forum in which to collaborate, coordinate and learn together, through which you will contribute to strategy and organisational development and lead and support specific cross-city improvement initiatives.

Whilst this role focuses on the On Purpose London programme delivery and organisational development, it is a collaborative role with shared responsibility for all of the London team and operations. 

This role has the following primary responsibilities, which can be reviewed and shaped around the strengths of the successful candidate: 

• Motivate and empower the London team and foster a healthy team culture - Set vision and strategy for On Purpose London alongside the co-lead and in collaboration with the International CEO and other Cities. Work with the international team, the co-leads of other Cities and the board to share and develop best practice and the organisation’s direction.

• Improve ways of working to enable the team to embrace change and innovation - Develop and implement processes, practices, systems, and techniques to help strengthen performance and streamline operations. • Support the development of Associates into impactful systems change leaders - Responsible for the overall quality of the Associate journey, envisioning and improving the Associate experience, and managing key moments including matching, induction and residential. Support Programme Delivery Manager in designing, planning and facilitating the training syllabus.

• Build engagement with our wider ecosystem of trainers, mentors & coaches - Ensure the recruitment, onboarding, matching and ongoing management of coaches and mentors throughout the year to support Associates’ growth and development.

• Lead the recruitment of high-calibre Associates from a diverse range of backgrounds - Oversee a rigorous assessment and selection process including scoring applications, training interviewers, interviewing candidates and managing the pipeline of potential candidates before and after offers.

Lambourne End Centre are looking to recruit a Fundraising and Marketing Coordinator.  The post holder will be responsible for raising revenue and capital funds primarily from trusts, companies and through organising fundraising events to support the work of the Centre. Reporting to the Programme Officer you will serve as a mentor and role model, offering guidance, support, and encouragement to help young people navigate challenges and reach their full potential. Additionally, you will collaborate with colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders to design and implement effective programmes that address the unique needs and interests of the youth demographic. Through your passion for youth development and commitment to empowerment, you will make a meaningful impact on the lives of the next generation.

Work closely with other youth workers, volunteers, partner organisations, schools, and community leaders to coordinate activities and resources for youth development.

Maintain clear & concise session notes, keep accurate records of programme attendance, participant demographics, and any incidents or concerns that arise. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and reporting requirements.

12. Advocacy

Support and advocate for the needs and rights of young people within BelEve and the broader community. Raise awareness about issues affecting youth and work towards positive change.
