We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced finance professional to join our team and play a vital role in our continued success. As Finance Manager, you will have the opportunity to positively impact local lives by leading and overseeing all aspects of our financial operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of our financial reporting, while also providing strategic financial insights to support our mission. You will be a member of the Wider Senior Leadership Team (SLT), working closely with the CEO, Board of Trustees, and internal teams to ensure our financial sustainability and resilience. This is a hands-on role with a mix of strategic and operational tasks and is essential to the success of our 3-year strategy, maintaining best practice financial controls and budgetary oversight, and meeting statutory obligations.

Duties & Responsibilities
Leadership
- Lead and mentor a small finance team, fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement, ensuring the day-to-day smooth efficient running of the finance function.
- Contribute to strategy development and implementation as part of the wider SLT.
- Work closely with the CEO, Deputy CEO and Board of Trustees to facilitate good governance and risk management, including attendance at the monthly Finance Sub-Committee.
- Manage, maintain and develop financial systems and controls, increasing their impact and quality and implementing best practices in financial management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements (e.g. Charity Commission, HMRC).
- Ensure FSSW fulfils its legal and regulatory requirements around GDPR.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including our Auditor and peers across the FareShare network.
- Act as a local ambassador for FSSW.
Finance Operations Management
- Undertake the day-to-day bookkeeping (Xero, Dext, ApprovalMax) including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank, payroll, banking, and general ledger maintenance.
- Manage the staff payroll and pension process, monthly HMRC reporting and payments, including monitoring of VAT, tax, and gift aid, and prepare required returns.
- Lead on procurement practices, including relationship management of key suppliers such as insurance, utilities, IT providers to ensure best value for money.
- Petty cash controls across all FSSW sites.
- Debtor management, including liaising with internal membership account managers.
- Other finance administration activities as required.
Monitoring and Reporting
- Manage all aspects of the financial cycle, including budgeting, forecasting, fixed asset management, reserves management and financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting commentary for presentation to SLT and Trustees.
- Provide insightful financial analysis and reporting to inform and support decision-making and funding applications across the organisation, including quarterly reviews.
- Prepare year end accounts to trial balance and lead the annual audit process.
- Ensure Restricted Funds are allocated correctly and assist with the monitoring of their budgets and cash flow in conjunction with the SLT.
- Assist the Deputy CEO to collate relevant evidence e.g. invoices for grant monitoring and reporting.
- Ensure day-to-day management of IT and data protection.
- Complete administration duties such as filing to Charity Commission and Companies House as directed to comply with statutory reporting requirements.
General
- Respond to communications via telephone, email, in person or via inhouse IT/systems.
- Be willing to receive and engage positively with any visitors to the warehouse and office space.
- Support FSSW events.
- Carry out any other duties that may reasonably be required in support of the main purpose of the role, including liaising with the wider FSSW team.
- Uphold high quality customer care and standards of conduct when dealing with all stakeholders and the public.

Essential Criteria

Full/part qualified accountant (ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA or equivalent)

As Business Development Director, you will work as a key member of Stop Domestic Abuse’s Executive Leadership Team delivering the organisation’s strategic plans, focusing on securing and managing contracts and grants, management and business development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, developing and delivering the income generation and fundraising strategy.
- Drive growth and business opportunities for Stop Domestic Abuse by leading on and developing new proposals for contracts, tenders, and grant applications; ensuring a strong business case and measurable outcomes.
- Develop new business lines which contribute income to support the Stop Domestic Abuse’s aspirations and core functions

The successful candidate will have a relevant qualification (business management, management & leadership, fundraising, data & reporting) or proven track record in management with a particular focus on the women’s sector/domestic violence sector/community and voluntary sector.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of the current funding landscape and evidence of successfully developing opportunities to obtain new funding sources is key, as is a strong knowledge of GDPR, data protection, confidentiality, EEDI and Health and Safety. You must also have a proven track record in developing, implementing, evaluating and monitoring strategic, operational, business and fundraising plans, with a background in developing and executing an income generation strategy. Knowledge of social media platforms and experience in developing/delivering communications across multiple outlets is also crucial.
You must have the ability to lead, enthuse and inspire a team, using personal warmth and humour with the ability to be authoritative yet willing to take account of the views of others and be responsive to them. Proven ability to effectively build the organisation and manage staff capacity, developing a high performing team to ensure the organisation runs smoothly is a must, as is excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong presentational and influencing abilities.

Better Cotton is seeking a dynamic data analytics professional to join its Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) team. Successful candidates will be skilled at analysing data on agricultural practices, field results and programmes, as well as adept at transforming analyses into clear visualisations with concise explanations. The MEL Data Insights and Visualization Manager will assist in compiling data from different sources and different teams, transforming, cleaning, validating, analysing data and promoting its insights though dynamic dashboards using Power BI and creating reports to disseminate learnings to our stakeholders (which range from farmers, programme partners close to the field to textile brands). The MEL Data Insights and Visualization Manager will report to Head of MEL inside the Standards and Assurance Team. There is not team reporting into this role at the moment, but we anticipate building up a team over time. You will play a key role in creating data feedback loops that will contribute to continuous improvement and influence programmatic change at the field-level and at the organization. You will influence our members by promoting our results and activities and those of our partners.

The Challenge
We are a large sustainability standard in the middle of big transformations (moving from a voluntary standard to a certification scheme, new legislations to adapt, increased consumer demands). Data plays a key role in informing our progress towards our targets.
As the MEL Data Insights and Visualisation Manager, you will be responsible for turning data into insights and providing Better Cotton staff and stakeholders with dynamic visualisation tools and reports. Data analysis requires a lot of context and for that understanding of sustainability standards, impact measurements and agriculture would be needed.
Areas that play to your strengths
We are seeking a motivated MEL Data Insights and Visualisation Manager to join our MEL Team. In this role, you will work both independently and with team members in the MEL secretariat and local country-team offices. Your responsibilities are to:
- Oversee, support and perform effective and accurate analysis of farm-level results data, reach data, practice adoption, programme activities… among other datasets.
- Create tools for analysis and reporting with Power BI and other tools adapted to range of stakeholders with different goals and backgrounds
- Ensure regularly scheduled reporting is completed accurately and to schedule, creating content and coordinating with other teams
- Actively promote existing data insights providing the needed context, tools and improvement possibilities inside the organisation that could support learning and accountability
- Coach and support Better Cotton’s country staff and partners on using interactive results dashboards.
- Support response to ad-hoc data analysis requests from staff and stakeholders
- Ensure other departments (e.g. IT, Communications, Implementation, Fundraising), have what they need for specific meetings, and for external parties (e.g. partners, members, researchers) as agreed with supervisor
- Work with ITD department into integrating more datasets into the organisation database
- Explore existing data from other departments that could support MEL strategy, understand how data is collected and propose changes if they could lead to improvements.
- Ensure visibility of activities, ideas and potential of MEL into the organisation.
- Manage some steps on data collection digitalisation process
- Collaborate for assessing farm results data quality, identify problematic areas, and contribute to data quality improvement plans
- Ensure cross-functional coordination around data analysis and data collection
- Support data digitalisation pilots and roll out by testing apps and ensuring the consistency for analysis, creating related dashboards, evaluating its alignment with MEL needs and suggesting improvements
- Perform other tasks as agreed with the supervisor that contribute to the mission and aims of Better Cotton.
- Consolidate all the learnings from evaluations, proposals and yearly reports from our Growth and Innovation Fund (GIF) into analysis tools and reports in coordination with GIF team.

We are looking for someone who has
