Use your communication skills to help inspire the UK Church to participate in sharing the gospel with people in hard-to-reach places.
About us
At Feba UK, we are passionate about God’s mission, and the creative use of radio and other audio media to inspire people to follow Jesus. We have a particular heart for people in places considered closed or hard-to-reach: where people might not hear the gospel by any other means, or where it’s difficult to be a Christian.
About our development
Since Feba UK was established 65 years ago to help communicate the gospel by shortwave radio, much has changed with big shifts in technology, missiology and geopolitics.
We no longer operate radio infrastructure or ‘send’ missionaries from the UK. Instead, we support local partners with training, expertise, prayer, and funding to produce culturally appropriate programmes in the listener’s ‘heart language’. Radio and other audio technology means they can reach people at scale and follow up in-person as listeners respond.
Today, our model of working with local, indigenous partners has a powerful impact in parts of Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
About the role
We now seek a Head of Communications and Engagement to focus on engaging the Church in the UK, where increasingly fewer churches see world mission as a priority. This role will take the lead on changing this, inspiring the Church through Feba UK’s ministry, reawakening its members to the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ to bring transformation to some of the most disadvantaged and oppressed communities around the world.
About you
You will be a communications and engagement leader with a track record of developing and delivering high impact communication strategies who is adept in using digital and non-digital media. You will come with an empowering, prayerful and servant-hearted leadership style that listens deeply and fosters collaboration, and you will have a passion for mission.
If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you. For more details including how to apply please see the appointment details attached. Closing date 6th January.
Does your extensive experience of delivering and implementing AREI strategies within a complex organisational structure include having collaborated and co-produced solutions with a wide range of stakeholders? Interview stage 1 – online: Monday January 27th, 2025
Interview stage 2 – face-to-face, Old Street, London: Wednesday 5th February, 2025
About the role
Join us, and you could soon be responsible for leading on the design and delivery of Anti-Racism, Equity and Inclusion (AREI) development plans and the management of change in support of Shelter’s strategic and operational plans. Along the way, you’ll get to work with a variety of Directors and Human Resources colleagues, as well as a number of key stakeholders across Shelter to operationalise programmes and interventions which will help the organisation achieve its strategic objectives. Providing strategic oversight and professional advice on AREI matters, supporting best practice development, facilitating regular workshops, training programmes and events and providing regular reports to inform Equity & Inclusion I decision making – these are just some aspects of this high-profile role.
About you
An excellent leader and project manager, your career to date will need to include extensive experience of mobilising teams to support the development of measurable initiatives to drive and embed cultural change and inclusion within an organisation. We’ll particularly be looking for a pragmatic and proactive approach, with a history of co-designing and delivering Equity, , and Inclusion (E&I) initiatives that resonated with an organisation’s core values and were pivotal for driving forward their ambitious goals. A flair for turning concepts into actionable plans is essential too, as are strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of an organisation. In short, you’re a strategic thinker with a values centred approach, E&I expertise and proven experience of leading and managing others.
Apply to be part of our team and be the change you want to see in society.

About the team
The Equity, Inclusion and Culture (EIC) Directorate was created in 2021 to look at the future with an equity lens across Shelter and Shelter Scotland as a core part of our strategic aims. It combines critical enabling functions to achieve this: a defined anti-racism, equity and inclusion programme, effective internal communications and engagement, dedicated lived experience activity, innovative learning, and quality volunteering.

ShareAction is an independent charity and an expert on responsible investment. We work to build a world where the financial system serves our planet and its people. We set ambitious standards for how financial institutions, through their investment decisions, can protect our planet and its people and campaign for this approach to become the norm. We convene shareholders to collectively push companies to tackle the climate crisis, protect nature, improve workers’ rights and shape healthier societies. In the UK and EU, we advocate for financial regulation that has society’s best interests at its core.
What you’ll do
The Corporate Climate team works to pressure some of the world’s largest companies to act on climate change and transition away from fossil fuels. We do this by working with investors, through a combination of public campaigning and private engagement, and encouraging them to use their shareholder rights for change.
Working with the Senior Research Manager, you will produce research and analysis on high-carbon sectors and companies, their business strategies, their climate impacts, and how they can decarbonise. Our research needs are varied, from technical deep dives into new technologies to quick-fire briefings on companies’ new climate targets. To separate facts from greenwashing, an eye for detail is a must.
You will work closely with the Campaign Manager and Communications team to promote our research to investors and public audiences. You will also contribute to other climate-related work inside ShareAction and manage relationships with a range of civil society organisations across the climate movement.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting and leading research on a broad range of topics at the intersection of climate change, the financial system, and a number of industry sectors. Our current focus is on European chemicals, but future work may include work on real estate, energy, and the food system.
- Producing reports, briefings and ad-hoc research for a range of audiences, including investors and the media.
- Supporting the climate campaigns team to prepare for meetings with companies and financial institutions.
- Working closely with our internal communications team to coordinate press and social media around publications and collaborate with other teams across the organisation as needed.
- Liaising with external audiences and developing/maintaining relationships with civil society organisations and financial institutions.
- Identifying new developments and trends in the external environment which may provide opportunities for our mission.
If this role sounds like something that would build on your current skill set and engage you, we’d love to hear from you!
What you’ll bring to the team
We’re looking for an analyst with excellent communication skills and a strong interest in decarbonisation. You needn’t have worked on the sectors we cover, so long as you want to put your skills to tackling climate change now.
We welcome applications from anyone who shares our passion for environmental and social justice through the transformation of the financial sector. Please feel free to apply even if you’re not sure you tick every box.
Essential
You will:
- Have experience of leading or being part of a research project.
- Have a good understanding of how climate change affects companies in a range of sectors and an awareness of how climate change creates risks for financial institutions.
- Have strong analytical skills, being able to quickly grasp new, complex subjects and pull out relevant insights.
- Be comfortable analysing, manipulating, and presenting quantitative information.
- Have excellent written and verbal English and be able to communicate complex topics to a variety of audiences.
- Be able to plan, manage and deliver your work to agreed objectives and timelines, balancing competing priorities and reprioritising when needed.
- Be a natural collaborator and team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Desirable
- Any experience working as an analyst in financial services or industry experience in energy, heavy industry, the food sector, or real estate.
- An understanding of companies’ financial reporting (being able to read balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements).
What we will do for you
We are a fast-paced organisation that has grown substantially over the past few years. We recognise that our people work hard to advocate for responsible investment and drive meaningful engagement with those who have the power to create a brighter future. Working together on the climate and biodiversity crisis
United Kingdom (London)
Application Deadline: Friday January 17, 2025
The Environmental Portfolio at The Pew Charitable Trusts
For more than 30 years, Pew has been a major force in engaging the public and policy makers about the causes, consequences, and solutions to some of the world's most pressing environmental challenges. Our environment work spans all seven continents with more than 250 professionals working at the local, national, and international levels to reduce the scope and severity of global environmental problems, such as the erosion of large natural ecosystems that contain a great part of the world's remaining biodiversity, and the destruction of the marine environment. Pew's global environmental program focuses on science-based, nonpartisan, and sustainable solutions to help protect the planet and people. We work in partnership with governments, Indigenous rights holders, intergovernmental organizations, non-governmental organizations, local stakeholders, scientists, and other researchers to advance public policy so that nature and communities can thrive.
Since 1990, Pew has worked in North America, South America and Australia to protect large and critically important terrestrial ecosystems, including rivers and other freshwater resources, coastal temperate rainforests, interior mountain ranges, the northern boreal forests, Australia's Outback, and Chilean Patagonia. We work to ensure these natural systems remain bountiful, functioning, and resilient, providing essential ecological services such as clean air and clean water, sustenance and food security for local communities and more broadly for the welfare of current and future generations. Our work relies on the sciences of conservation, sociology, biology, and economics to advocate for practical and durable solutions to the loss of biodiversity.
In the sea, reforms to how our oceans are managed are essential to address overfishing, pollution, and loss of habitat. Pew began its oceans program in the United States, focusing on ending overfishing and protecting fragile marine habitat. Starting in 2005, Pew's ocean conservation program expanded around the world and played a significant role in reforming marine fisheries management in the European Union and on the high seas and creating large scale marine reserves around the world. Our work is grounded in the best available science and pursues domestic and international conservation measures that are long-term and provide permanent, durable protections for marine ecosystems. We also work to address systemic threats to the ocean, including from plastics, over-and-illegal fishing, seabed mining, and climate change.
International Fisheries
Pew's international fisheries work aims to protect marine biodiversity and provide food and livelihoods for a growing population by addressing in specific, targeted contexts one of the ocean's main threats-inadequate management and control of large-scale fishing activities. Organized into three projects, our main areas of work include: the advancement of precautionary harvest strategies and effective compliance regimes for international fisheries (RFMO Policy); improved policies and actions aimed at ending illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing (Ending Illegal Fishing); and the advancement of ecosystem considerations in the management of fisheries (Ecosystem Conservation).

Located in Pew's London, UK office or Brussels, Belgium office, this position will participate in Pew's core in-office days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and will have flexibility to work from home the remainder of each week , as business needs permit .

- Collaborate with the project director, Ecosystem Conservation, to lead the design and implementation of strategies to strengthen the governance of global squid fisheries working with key programmatic leads and relevant consultants to engage governments and institutions to build international support for governance improvements.
- Actively lead coordination and collaboration with Pew's other campaigns that work on marine conservation, resource management, and habitat protection to align strategies to engage relevant governments and regional bodies.
- Communicate with, and in some cases, manage consultants engaged by the campaign to advance its objectives.
- Forge and maintain relationships with important policymakers, conservation groups, expert bodies, and other constituencies to advance campaign objectives. Collaborate with other allies in the field to maximize the likelihood of achieving identified objectives.

- Develop policy and/or scientific papers, reports, and other communications materials on these topics, as needed. Review and provide comments on external policy proposals, regulations, and white papers, as needed.
- Represent Pew's environment campaigns in relevant international bodies and participate in activities that support program and Pew-wide objectives.
