Overall Duties of the Senior Supervising Social Worker will include:

• An appropriate social work qualification
• Up-to-date registration with Social Work England
• A minimum of 2 years post-qualifying experience in fostering/family placements or other childcare settings
• Experience in supporting and supervising  and visiting, foster families to meet the complex needs of the looked-after young people
• A proven track record in working with and on behalf of children, respecting and maintaining their individuality, and promoting their positive development.
• Experience in group work and/or delivery of training.
• Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations including the Children's Act and NMS Fostering Standards.
• Experience of working with/supporting looked after children and their foster carers.
• Ability to prioritise, plan and self-organise efficiently.
• Capable of using electronic records systems and IT effectively, including participating in virtual meetings and webinars

The Senior Supervising Social Worker may be homebased within England, Scotland or Wales but will be required to travel to face-to-face meetings in the Bristol Area at least once a month and on other occasions for training and team wellbeing events.

We are looking for a Fundraising and Events Coordinator to join our busy team. This entry-level role will work across our organisation and the successful candidate will gain valuable experience in fundraising, event planning and management and marketing.

Children and Families Across Borders will be marking our 70th anniversary in 2024 and will be using this special occasion to leverage funds and raise our profile.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning and management of large fundraising events. You will coordinate the event logistics and ensure that each event is successful. Working closely with the Deputy CEO, you will help to promote both events to CFAB’s donors and prospects and research and identify potential event sponsors.

You will also help us to work on our annual online fundraising campaign, The Big Give Christmas Challenge. Working with both the fundraising and marketing team, you will help us to create initial design concepts and draft copy. You will help us to clean and segment donor and prospect data and log all communications on our CRM database.

This position will also play an important role in creating our donor communications throughout the year including regular updates and our annual impact report.

In addition, the candidate will also be responsible for some administrative functions including updating our CRM database, prospect research and collecting data on our services.

This role is being funded by the Rank Foundation’s Time to Shine programme. This is a leadership programme to address both the increasing demands of the social sector to improve business capability skills and to address the wide-spread challenge of under-employment faced by many people.

As well as providing valuable funding for the position, the Time to Shine programme also incorporates a range of personal and professional development activities for the Time to Shine leader, their line manager and in turn, the whole organisation. Alongside your main duties listed here, the successful candidate will also participate in a structured programme of learning sessions to help your own development and progress as an emerging leader.

Your experience in writing tailored and high quality applications will be key and an asset to the team!

You'll bring your previous experience as a trust fundraiser to hit the ground running and pick up the current portfolio whilst also exploring and researching new avenues for trusts and grant application potential that will leverage a range of opportunities available.

About the NEL VCSE Collaborative

The North East London (NEL) Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Collaborative works closely with the ICB to work together strategically by shaping, improving and delivering services and contributes to the system design and organisational development of the ICB, ensuring Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) contribution.

The Role
As CEO, you will report directly to the Board of Trustees and hold overall responsibility for the leadership, strategy, and administration of the charity. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of GMYF by:

• Overseeing the development and expansion of new clubs and services across Greater Manchester, including planning and executing the build of our new community centre and additional youth centres, ensuring they are equipped to meet the needs of the young people we serve.

• Significant experience in a senior management role within youth services, outdoor education, or a similar sector, to include service development.
• A proven track record in leading organisational change, motivating teams, and fostering a positive culture.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, ensuring financial sustainability, and driving fundraising efforts, particularly in a charity setting.
• In-depth understanding of charity governance, regulatory requirements, and compliance, with the ability to navigate the complexities of public sector partnerships.

Person specification:
