DOTW UK has a small, high-performing and dynamic services team dedicated to delivering high quality, person-centred healthcare in a fast-paced environment, ensuring exceptional personal and team performance.
We are looking for an Outreach Senior Caseworker with experience of delivering effective advocacy on behalf of people from marginalised communities. This role will play a key role in the delivery of services that will support equal access to primary medical services for people seeking asylum in contingency accommodation in Northeast London. The outreach service will offer initial health and social assessments, urgent care, and will facilitate GP registration and, and support access to wider healthcare and support services within the area through direct referrals and signposting, and coordination with other local services and partners.
As part of DOTWs Services team, you will support the service by proactively promoting DOTW’s service at individual accommodation sites, providing social assessments for residents and their dependents, escalating health issues of any immediate concern, and support responses to urgent health and/or safeguarding concerns. As part of a culture of best practice, you will ensure adherence to DotW policies and will provide support resolving complex cases, deploying your demonstrative experience delivering person-centred, compassionate care and/or advice and support to people seeking asylum or from other excluded communities.
You will lead by example, demonstrating effective advocacy, coordination, and multi-tasking skills, The role requires emotional agility, and resilience, especially when dealing with complex situations such as mental health crises, trafficking, and homelessness, where you will draw on your experience to manage complex situations calmly and compassionately. You will be someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and be able to work productively and constructively within a close-knit team by demonstrating an open and responsive attitude and using your excellent communication skills.
You will have strong IT skills and ideally a driving licence to be able to support us to deliver our services in our dedicated mobile clinic vans. You will have the skills to work independently and manage your own and volunteers' health and safety, sometimes working alone.
You will be supported by an experienced team, regular line management, and clinical supervision. Skills in Basic Life Support, First Aid, safeguarding, mental health management, and trauma-informed approaches will be provided.

The Role
We are looking for a talented Senior Regional Fundraiser to support the fundraising team by generating income, maximising opportunities and building relationships within the Yorkshire community. Duties will include:
- Leading on the development of the community fundraising strategy

- To proactively engage with the families Candlelighters support, community groups, schools and local businesses

The Person
To be considered for this fabulous role you should have experience of community fundraising and meeting fundraising targets. You will have excellent presentation skills and be confident with public speaking. With an ability and desire to build and nurture relationships in various scenarios, you will be confident delivering effective fundraising campaigns and events.
Knowledge of using a CRM database and experience of developing budgets & fundraising plans is essential. It is key that you have the ability to work independently and perhaps most importantly that you are able to remain positive, resilient and flexible when dealing with change. A knowledge of local networks would also be desirable.

About this key role
Our successful candidate will provide person-centred support to a caseload of service users who will either be serving community sentences or being released from prison. This will involve undertaking assessment and action planning with individual service users which will result in timely and prescribed outcomes being achieved, and creating a safe and trusting environment, using trauma informed practice to successfully facilitate a supportive and constructive relationship with service users. You will deliver a range of interventions to service users, including group work sessions where required, and work with service users flexibly, meeting and undertaking interventions in a range of prescribed locations across a wide geographical area.
We will also rely on you to develop and maintain positive working relationships with external agencies including Probation, Prisons and partners, and work towards contractual targets and outcomes within agreed timescales and in line with specified quality standards. Using agreed CRM databases, recording all activity relating to caseload and ensuring all information is recorded within agreed deadlines are all also vital aspects of the role.
What we are looking for
- Experience in working with partner agencies either as part of a multi-agency team working towards common objectives or negotiating to establish links to further the aims of a project
- L3 qualification in Advice and Guidance or equivalent
- A sound knowledge of the requirements of managing a caseload
- An understanding of the barriers faced by people with complex and multiple needs

The Justice First Fellowship (JFF) is a scheme offering two-year, fully-funded legal training positions and wider development opportunities for the next generation of social justice lawyers. Established by the Legal Education Foundation, since 2014 JFF has supported 125 Fellows to qualify, with the vast majority still working in social justice law. As a JFF Fellow at Shelter, you will complete your legal training with us and the cost of undertaking any mandatory training to qualify will be covered as well. And you will become part of the JFF network, a movement of lawyers using the law for social justice.
About the role
You will be based in our Birmingham Hub, working under the housing and public law legal aid contracts as well as having the opportunity to support Shelter’s test cases and interventions.
The training will give you the opportunity to develop and apply the skills you will need as a qualified solicitor. These include advocacy and oral presentation, case and transaction management, client care and practice support, communication, dispute resolution, drafting, interviewing and advising, legal research and negotiation.
Your role will support the solicitors within Birmingham hub to play a key part in tackling housing injustice and unfair housing practices. You will develop your skills through a mixture of completing work unsupervised, assisting others and observing experienced practitioners.
You will work with colleagues in the Birmingham hub to ensure people in our communities are aware of their rights, know how to enforce them and represent people who need specialist legal advice.
About You
You will need to have passed the Legal Practice Course or have an undergraduate degree and passed SQE part 1 and be able to demonstrate specialist knowledge and the technical requirements needed for the role. You will be able to reason critically and demonstrate an intellectual aptitude. If you have previous experience of housing advice, litigation and/or legal aid this would be an advantage but it is not essential.

Your role as a Debt Outreach Advisor will include working with community organisations in inner city and east Bristol to support clients who are experiencing financial issues and working as part of the Bristol Court Advisory Network to provide debt advice to people facing eviction.
