Digital Communications Manager 

Job Location: Hybrid, with two days a month working from our London (Victoria) offices and/or at our members’ events in line with the role. After passing probation, up to six weeks ‘super remote’ working per year, where you can work anywhere in the world.  

Holiday: 27 days per year, plus 3-day winter shut down, plus eight flexible bank holidays (annual leave is pro-rated to 0.6 FTE) 

Hours: 22.5 hours per week (0.6 FTE)

Working with our Head of Communications and work area leads, you will manage and develop our digital channels to reach key audiences, drive engagement with our member organisations, and increase public awareness of educational inequality.  In a typical day you could be speaking to our Youth Steering Group, creating content to support the launch of our latest report, building our email newsletter, or developing social media strategy to engage key influencers.   

You will be equally at home managing day-to-day tasks and shaping strategy, and you will be able to balance a data-informed approach with an instinct for good content.  

What we’re asking of you 

Leading the delivery of our brand and communications across all digital channels 

• Create and deliver content across our social media channels that engages our audiences so we can achieve our objectives. 
• Champion our members and their activities, involving members in content creation and digital campaigns. 
• Work with area leads to develop and deliver organic and paid digital marketing campaigns and activities. 
• Ensure our website is regularly updated with relevant and timely content. 
• Manage our regular email newsletters, including our weekly Member Bulletin. Compile content, schedule contributors and build email campaigns.

Supporting development and delivery of communications strategy 

• Support the Head of Communications and Senior Leadership Team to develop a sustainable, effective communications strategy. 
• Develop channel strategies to grow audiences and increase engagement.
• Ensure digital communications activity is well planned, with clear objectives and metrics, in line with our communications strategy.
• Establish clear ways of working and guidelines, where appropriate, and ensure best practice is followed by staff and contributors. 

Managing and monitoring our digital channels 

• Monitor our social media channels, identifying opportunities and risks. Where appropriate, escalate risks to Head of Communications and agree mitigation. 
• Regularly respond to comments and posts on our social media channels 
• Ensure channel analytics are recorded and analysed, and learnings applied. Provide data and analysis for quarterly board reports, as well as monthly communications briefings.
• Monitor search engine performance and look for opportunities to create SEO-friendly content.

Flint House Police Rehabilitation is a registered Charity offering rehabilitation services to ill or injured serving and retired police officers suffering from a wide variety of physical and mental health conditions. Every year we treat over 3,000 police officers. Located just outside Goring on Thames and set in 20 acres of ancient woodland, with extensive facilities based within two buildings at Flint House and Flint Fold.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Fundraising Manager to join our team. This newly created role will play a crucial role in developing and implementing fundraising strategies to support our mission and ensure the financial sustainability of the Charity. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising plans and strategies to achieve revenue targets and support the Flint House strategic plan and mission.
• Identify and cultivate relationships with individual donors, major donors, corporate partners, foundations, and other potential supporters.
• Plan and coordinate fundraising events, campaigns, and initiatives to engage donors and raise awareness of the charity's mission.
• Write compelling grant proposals, solicitation letters, and other fundraising materials to secure funding from foundations and grant-making organisations.
• Work to create effective fundraising campaigns and materials, including digital and print collateral, social media content, and email campaigns.
• Manage donor stewardship and recognition programs to ensure donors feel valued and engaged with the organisation.
• Utilise donor management software / databases to track donor interactions, manage donor information, and analyse fundraising data.
• Provide regular reports and analysis on fundraising activities, goals, and outcomes to the Executive Team and Trustees.
• Stay informed about trends and best practices in fundraising, philanthropy, and non-profit management, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Manage a team that supports our donor engagement and communications strategy.

Qualifications and Experience

• Ideally, a Bachelor's degree in non-profit management, business administration, marketing, or a related field (master's degree preferred). Membership with the Institute of Fundraising.
• Significant experience in non-profit fundraising, development, or related field, with a proven track record of success in meeting fundraising goals and securing major gifts -  annual fundraising income of upward of £1 million.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and effectively communicate the charity's mission and impact to diverse audiences.
• Excellent writing skills, with the ability to craft compelling fundraising appeals, grant proposals, and other donor communications.
• Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in donor management software, Microsoft Office, and other relevant fundraising tools and technologies.
• Knowledge of fundraising best practices, ethical guidelines, and regulations governing charitable organisations.
• Working knowledge of marketing communications strategy and donor engagement.
• Proven line manager and demonstrated ability to work across all levels within Flint House to support and drive our fundraising efforts.
• Passion for the Flint House mission and commitment to making a difference in the community.

This exciting Public Mental Health Officer role will work alongside community partners to identify, test, and embed the best approaches to improving mental health in communities. You will support the development of the evidence base on mental health, and generate compelling evidence of how systems can act to support good mental health.

We're recruiting a Employee Relations Specialist for a 12 month fixed term contract to join our team.

As a Employee Relations Specialist, you’ll be the escalation point from our People Operations team and will apply your specialist employee relations knowledge and expertise to provide professional and pragmatic employee relations advice on a range of employee relations (ER) issues, policies and processes.

You’ll pro-actively engage with managers to offer best practice advice on a range of ER case work, spotting and assessing the risks and advising managers on how to mitigate or find resolutions to those risks which are in the best interest for British Heart Foundation (BHF). 

You’ll take ownership of your own case work from beginning to end and responsibility for the advisory solutions ensuring best practice timescales are adhered to. You will also ensure any risks or concerns are flagged. 

Working arrangements

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London Office. Please note this is a 12 month fixed term contract.

About you

With a CIPD Level 5 minimum qualification, or equivalent, you'll have extensive HR knowledge and understanding around best practice. You'll also have an up-to-date ER and Employment law knowledge, and understand ACAS code of Practise and be knowledgeable on the Equality Act.

You’ll have substantial experience managing complex casework, including dismissals and discrimination. 
You are able to weigh up complex evidence and reach sound conclusions that are fair and reasonable while protecting the business. You have the proven experience of navigating legal complexities and negotiating successful resolutions swiftly. 

Ideally, you will have ER specialist experience confidently managing a high volume of cases in a large organisation. Additionally, experience of tribunal case preparation, restructuring, redundancy, and TUPE would be highly advantageous. 
A highly effective team player, you’ll have excellent communication skills and be able to build trust and rapport quickly. With strong time management skills, you’ll be resilient and work well under pressure to multiple and conflicting deadlines.

As the Bullingdon Community Connections Coordinator you will work with the Community Connections Officer (CCO) to initiate and develop projects and partnerships between the community and prison, to generate opportunities for purposeful activity contributing to the reintegration of individuals into the community.

The job

We’re looking for someone to wear two hats. 

The first hat you’ll wear is that of a client lead. You’ll have full responsibility for the clients and projects that you and your team are working on. One day you might be working on ocean policy campaigns, helping technical clients adapt their language to make it engaging and influential, and in doing so helping to push the ocean agenda forward. The next you could be working with a not-for-profit, leading the creation of their brand identity, marketing strategy and overseeing the launch of their new website. 

We’re on the hunt for a seasoned communications strategist and a creative campaigner. You’ll be someone who feels at home bringing your knowledge and experience to any communications challenge: from campaign strategy to brand strategy, from policy communications to digital marketing.

You should be a creative thinker, a problem solver, and someone who knows how to run projects profitably – and grow client relationships at the same time. You’ll be able to build relationships quickly, with clients and colleagues. You’ll spot mistakes, tactfully ask difficult questions, and tell us and our clients how to improve things.

The second hat you’ll wear is that of a new business lead. You’ll work with the CEO, Head of Strategy and other colleagues to identify, respond to, and win new business opportunities. We’re looking for someone who has directly relevant experience here – so you’ll have had experience in new business for an agency or consultancy, or have supported that function.

You’ll have experience responding to RFPs (and hopefully winning them – definitely tell us if you have a good hit rate), you’ll be excited by the idea of travelling abroad to give presentations to prospects and convert them to clients, and you’ll have ideas about how we can improve our marketing to generate more inbound leads. Where some see new business efforts as taxing and draining, you’ll be energised by it, and see new business as a game that is fun to play, and win.

Key skills and experience

The core things we are looking for are:

• Minimum 6 years experience, with at least three years in an equivalent agency setting
• Have communications expertise in creating stories, shaping narratives and social/policy campaigns and/or public affairs
• Experience and expertise in brand communications and/or strategy development
• Ability to produce creative and engaging communication materials: reports, websites, social media and print

We’re also looking for a mix of the below. We don’t expect you to have all of them, but you should be nodding to most of the things on the lists below.

Project management

• Excellent account and project management skills 
• Finding creative solutions to complex problems
• Ability to break down large strategy and campaign projects into phased deliverables, guiding clients through the process
• Strong timeline and budget management skills 
• Ability to identify areas of improvement/efficiencies, for yourself and your team, both in terms of process, training, and any other areas you identify

Team management

• Experience managing a team, growing their skills and ability (this role will have line management responsibilities)
• Onboarding new team members 
• On an ongoing basis, identify future recruits for the company/build a wide network around the industry

Thought leadership

• Write thought leadership articles for the CFC website, at least once per quarter, ideally one a month promoting our thinking and best practices
• Participate in CFC training and knowledge sharing (webinars etc.) 
• Attend events and conferences on behalf of the company

New business & sales

• Identify and respond to appropriate RFPs; lead pitch approaches
• Identify opportunities for future work with existing clients, write proposals to win that work
• Identify and pursue new leads
• Identify and shape new product offerings to take to market

We are looking for a new analyst who can help us get to grips with complex issues and produce clear, incisive evidence for decision makers.

Thought leadership is one of Green Alliance’s defining activities, initiating debates and bringing new perspectives to challenging environmental issues. We do this by exploring issues from original angles and presenting information in compelling and relevant formats. Our analysts conduct research and interpret data from a range of sources to inform our insights and recommendations on environmental policy.

You will work on high profile, sometimes multi-partner projects, and will mainly be focused on our natural environment theme which covers food, farming, land use and nature policy. There may also be the opportunity to work on our other themes of low carbon, resources and green economy.

Curious and inquiring, you will want to seek out and interrogate the best, most credible evidence. You will have excellent attention to detail, a rigorous approach to problem solving and accuracy, and the ability to work on several projects at once. You will have strong writing skills and be able to create copy that explains concepts to a non-scientific audience clearly and concisely. Your data analysis and synthesis skills might have been developed in another field, but you will have a deep interest in environmental issues and Green Alliance’s policy themes.

WECare’s Head of Fundraising is responsible for supporting the Fundraising team in their efforts to raise funds. We have lots of exciting projects and expansion in the pipeline. We need a Head of Fundraising  who can come on this journey with us and help the charity grow whilst maintaining our core values and standards.

Who we are:  

WECare Worldwide is a UK and Sri Lankan registered charity set up by veterinary surgeon Janey Lowes. Our mission is to provide international standard veterinary care for less fortunate animals around the world, starting in Sri Lanka. The WECare Team is made up of passionate, dedicated and brilliant individuals who know how to work hard and enjoy ourselves while we do it. We aim to change the outlook for street dogs worldwide, with 75% of the globe’s dog population going without access to healthcare. We want to plug that gap and provide them with a whole lot of love while we do it!

Key responsibilities:

1. Fundraising Strategy Development:

• Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to achieve organisational fundraising goals.

• Design and establish fundraising structures, policies, and processes to streamline fundraising efforts and ensure compliance with regulations.

• Identify new fundraising opportunities and innovative approaches to expand the donor base and increase revenue streams.

2. Donor Engagement and Relationship Management:

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and potential supporters.

• Implement strategies to enhance donor engagement and retention, including the development of stewardship programmes, and  ensure ongoing engagement, retention, and the growth of regular givers.

• Lead the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns and events, ensuring seamless logistics and maximising donor participation.

• Research and identify potential grants and trust funders to diversify funding sources.

3. Communication and Outreach:

• Create and distribute quarterly newsletters and appeal email campaigns to engage supporters and donors.

• Develop and maintain relationships with current sponsors, partners, and key donors.

• Oversee the 'Sponsor a Dog' programme, ensuring its effectiveness in donor engagement and revenue generation.

• Optimise the new supporter journey and create promotional materials in line with current brand guidelines.

• Identify, actively seek, and manage media opportunities, including TV, radio, and social media partnerships.

• Secure support from UK/ Sri Lankan  businesses and establish official partnerships where possible.

4. Fundraising Management:

• Manage fundraising events, including securing sponsorship and maintaining strong relationships with venues and their staff.

• Support WECare fundraisers with all needs associated with their efforts.

• Develop grant applications and supporting documentation.

• Manage the production of fundraising materials and advertisements.

• Oversee the development of merchandise ranges and play a key role in the sales process.

We are now looking for a Network Manager to join us in the North West.

FUNCTION: Delivering our successful mentoring programmes in Merseyside, with some work across the wider NW region also.

WHERE THE ROLE FITS: Reporting to: North Senior Network Manager

PAY BAND: £27,825 per annum

CONTRACT: Permanent

HOURS: 5 days per week, 37.5 hours (with some evening work)

LOCATION: Home based with weekly travel to schools and partners in Merseyside and the wider North West region (Access to own vehicle required). 

WHAT WE DO

Young people from lower income families are 40% less likely to go to University than wealthier peers (Dept for Education, 2020) which can have a lifelong impact on earning potential. Covid-19 has deepened inequalities (Social Mobility Foundation, 2022) and negatively impacted on young people's wellbeing (GirlGuiding, 2020). We believe that no girls should have their futures limited by their gender, sex, ethnicity, background, or parental income and they should be supported to realise their ambitions, to discover their self-worth, and to develop their capacity to shape their world and their futures.

We work in communities of least advantage across England to deliver two core programmes to achieve this vision. Through our mentoring programme we connect 14-19 year old girls with a mentor and a wider network of role models who are women and deliver opportunities which help them to build life skills and nurture their ambitions. Based on the idea that 'you can't be what you can't see', our mentors often help girls to broaden their horizons and create a more positive vision of their futures. After the programme, the mentees can join a free, lifelong network of support - our Ambassador Community, which offers further opportunities to reach their goals, build their confidence and to share their voices and experiences.

Our programmes help girls and young women to develop the knowledge, skills, self-belief and opportunities to thrive, and to be supported as part of a network that champions them and ensures their voices are heard.

THE ROLE

This is an exciting role joining a Programme Team of 15 staff based throughout the UK. There is a small team of three based in the South. You will work closely and collaborate with the other Network Managers and share some priorities across the region, working to develop the region as a whole. The purpose of this role is to facilitate good relationships between the mentors and mentees in the region. 70-80% of the role is about relationship building (with schools, mentors and partners), coordination and the tracking/ administration of those relationships. 15-20% of the role is direct delivery with the girls in the region. You will play a crucial role setting up our Autumn 121 mentoring programmes, liaising with schools, recruiting mentors and ensuring that we have the right mentors for the mentees on programme. You will also deliver our workshop programme within the area.

Mentoring programme

• Manage overall success of the cohorts (groups of mentees and mentors) in your region, including coordinating and administering events and communications for cohorts in your area.
• Deliver engaging on-boarding sessions for mentees.
• Deliver events and workshops for mentees.
• Deliver matching of mentees and mentors at in-person events or virtually.
• Work with the wider programme team to train mentors.
• Support mentors once matched through regular check-ins, monthly emails and ad-hoc conversations.
• Collect data to track the progress, and impact of, mentoring relationships.
• Support mentors with safeguarding concerns, following The Girls’ Network. process in line with our child protection policy.
• Develop effective relationships with schools, on-boarding, supporting and retaining the partnerships.

Partnerships

• Work with the Senior Network Manager in your area to identify professional partnerships and sponsorship with local and national businesses.
• Work with your Senior Network Manager to identify a recruitment and retention plan for your area including key partners to work with.
• Be an active presence in the community, attending events and networks to encourage local women to mentor on our programme.

• Advocate The Girls’ Network at every opportunity particularly at in person networking events and on social media.
• Identify opportunities to build the reputation of The Girls’ Network in Birmingham and through events and networking.
• Report significant successes and achievements to relevant staff members.

• Work with the Programme Team to identify key areas for programme development
• Opportunities to get involved in programme and wider organisational projects
• Understand the development of school initiatives nationally and in your region, and understand their impact and implications for The Girls’ Network programmes
