This Senior Digital Officer role supports the ongoing strategic development of the organisation in key digital marketing areas, including website, analysis and evaluation, audio-visual outputs, eMarketing, and social media. The role will also support wider membership communications activities.

A substantial part of this maternity cover role will be supporting the senior digital manager deliver the organisation’s new website. This will entail project managing the website redevelopment work and launch, working closely with our digital agency as well as with colleagues withing NHS Providers. Alongside this, you’ll be supporting work on our new content strategy, ensuring our digital channels reflect the outcomes and working on development of analysis and evaluation across the organisation.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and dynamic Head of Fundraising & Communications who will join our senior leadership team and will have overall accountability for Trust’s fundraising, marketing and communications strategies.  

You will need to be a skilled and strategic leader with strong interpersonal and management skills and a proven track record in senior level fundraising. You will also have experience in communications and promoting the brand of an organisation.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this pivotal role will work closely with the wider senior management team (SMT) and inspire and lead the Trust’s fundraising, marketing and communications team.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 This role’s primary responsibilities will be as follows:

Strategic Development and Implementation

 · Provide leadership, strategy and direction for the Trust’s fundraising, marketing and communications team comprising 15 in the UK and 3 in Nepal.

· Be part of the Senior Management Team (SMT), contributing to the Trust’s wider vision and strategic direction as well as provide updates and reports for the SMT and Trustees.

· As the organisational expert on fundraising, work closely with the Trust CEO and SMT to ensure that fundraising and marketing respond to and reflect the vision and agreed priorities of the Trust.

Fundraising

· Implement the Trust’s five-year fundraising strategy (income c.£14m pa), and be accountable for the delivery of operational plans, defining targets and identifying new sources of income.

· Develop and implement fundraising policies and procedures ensuring all fundraising remains safe and legal.

· Create a donor-centric culture within the Trust, implementing an accurate and robust system to deliver effective supporter journeys across all disciplines – individual giving, major donor, legacy, trust and corporate, and community fundraising.

· Keep abreast of current fundraising trends and standards as well as historic analysis of our own activities to optimise all fundraising approaches.

 Communications and Marketing

 · Lead the development of the Trust’s marketing and communications strategy and annual marketing programme, reviewing them to achieve the Trust’s aims and objectives.

· Develop and oversee the Trust’s social media strategy, both as a communication and a marketing tool.

· Oversee the Trust’s website, ensuring accessible content, a strong visitor experience and increasing donations via the site.

· Oversee the flow of project and general information between Nepal and the UK enabling effective proposals and reports.

Budgeting and Reporting

· Manage the annual fundraising, marketing and communications budgets.

· Work closely with the Head of Finance and the Finance team in Nepal to agree the details and split of unrestricted and restricted projects to be funded each year.

Leadership and Line Management

· Provide strategic direction to all areas of fundraising, marketing and communications, nurturing team members to develop their knowledge and expertise, and maintaining a passionate and engaged group of staff committed to delivering excellence for the Trust.

·Coach, inspire and motivate direct reports and other members of the team as well as providing guidance and direction to deliver their objectives and develop their skills and expertise in their roles.

KEY SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE, AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

Experience

 Essential:

· Senior level successful track record in a charity fundraising environment

· Developing and implementing strategies and operational plans successfully for fundraising, marketing and communications

· Setting, managing, and reporting on six figure+ budgets

· Experience of leading and managing a successful team

· Experience of brand development and management

· Demonstrable experience of shaping organisational objectives

· Educated to degree or relevant experience

Desirable:

Digital Communications Manager 

Job Location: Hybrid, with two days a month working from our London (Victoria) offices and/or at our members’ events in line with the role. After passing probation, up to six weeks ‘super remote’ working per year, where you can work anywhere in the world.  

Holiday: 27 days per year, plus 3-day winter shut down, plus eight flexible bank holidays (annual leave is pro-rated to 0.6 FTE)

• Ensure digital communications activity is well planned, with clear objectives and metrics, in line with our communications strategy.
• Establish clear ways of working and guidelines, where appropriate, and ensure best practice is followed by staff and contributors. 

Managing and monitoring our digital channels 

• Monitor our social media channels, identifying opportunities and risks. Where appropriate, escalate risks to Head of Communications and agree mitigation. 
• Regularly respond to comments and posts on our social media channels 
• Ensure channel analytics are recorded and analysed, and learnings applied. Provide data and analysis for quarterly board reports, as well as monthly communications briefings.

We are looking for a Senior Marketing and Brand Officer to join the newly formed Public Engagement team. This role will play a vital role in driving public awareness and engagement with St Mungo’s and our work, to end homelessness and rebuild lives.

About you:

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or another related field.
• Minimum of 7 years' experience in marketing, media relations, and corporate/ nonprofit communications.
• Exceptional communication skills in English, with bilingualism in English and

• French being a strong asset.
• An entrepreneurial and collaborative work ethic. Diplomatic and able to work with teams from around the globe and different time zones.
• Experience of managing external public relations, web development, and other communications vendors.
• An understanding of international development issues.
• Experience working on advocacy plans and execution within the international development/NGO sectors would be a strong asset.

We have an opportunity for a Senior Marketing Planning Manager to join our marketing planning team, which take a centralised view across all our marketing activity, audiences and agencies. You will come with strong experience of working with paid media and liaising with media agencies to ensure we have optimal balance of spend, channel and audience across everything we deliver to drive media efficiency.

You'll develop a strong understanding of both department and organisational goals and define processes and ways of working to ensure we are allocating our media budgets in the most cost effective and impactful way.

What will I be doing?

• Lead the application of the Marketing strategy across channels, audiences and workstreams, ensuring close alignment with Engage Transformation Program, Growth strategy and Brand strategy

• Working closely with the Senior Planning manager (DM), Senior Commercial and Operations manager, the Marketing performance team and marketing teams to manage the development of the annual Marketing plan, contributing to MSE budget and target setting for all marketing campaigns, channels and activities

• Line manage and mentor a team of 3 Marketing Planning Managers

• Ensure visibility and oversight across paid marketing activity, working closely with relevant stakeholders across marketing, MFE and the wider organisation to minimise campaign, audience or channel saturation

• Lead the overall strategy and plans for above the line paid media campaigns and channel strategies including but not exclusive to; AV, OOH, Digital, social and press

• Work with Marketing Performance Managers to take an insight and data-led approach to marketing planning across our CRUK audiences, channels and campaigns. Use insight to develop campaign and channel benchmarks and targets which are shared across the marketing department and reported up as required.

You will work in the School Support team alongside digital marketing, brand and press and public affairs colleagues. The team is responsible for reaching new teacher-audiences and helping them to make the most out of what Oak has to offer.

• deliver impactful marketing campaigns
• lead on our email marketing and organic social media channels; and

You will:

• Work closely with the Product Marketing Manager and Senior Digital Marketing Planner to deliver an editorial plan and content marketing strategy to meet our campaign objectives. This includes feeding into social media and email marketing strategies (organic and paid) for each campaign framework.
• Develop engaging online content, including videos, graphics, and blogs; write and edit copy in line with brand voice and core messaging; and, as a brand guardian, support colleagues in working effectively within our brand.
• Manage and monitor social media platforms, and support with delivery and analysis of email marketing.
• Work in cross-functional and product-oriented squads with colleagues from across the organisation, as required
• As a member of the Oak Team, contribute to the wider success and culture of the organisation.
• Deputise for senior school support colleagues and take on other general responsibilities as required

You will/should have:

• Experience in creating content marketing plans, with expertise across social media, web and email marketing platforms, management tools and reporting.
• Experience in community engagement or customer services - managing user queries and systems to monitor, escalate and respond.
• Experience working in Adobe Creative Suite, in particular, InDesign and PhotoShop - experienced at managing the production of on-brand graphic design elements.
• Able to write clear, concise and powerful communications for a range of different audiences across a number of channels, together with a creative flair to improve social media, email marketing and communications activity
• Experienced at managing multiple projects at any one time
• Desire to get stuck in, working across all areas, in an exciting, fast-paced team.

The role is full-time (36 hours) and we work a 4.5 day week or 9 day fortnight (alternate Fridays or half Fridays off). This is a predominantly remote role with occasional in-person events and activities.
