The position:
As Social Media Coordinator, you will live and breathe all things social media, leading all activities across our Facebook, X, Instagram, Threads, YouTube, and LinkedIn, as well as keeping an eye out for opportunities elsewhere on social media.
A social media wizard with strong working knowledge of social channels, you’ll implement a digital strategy focused on engaging and converting our community to take action for animals.
This role reports to the Digital Communications Manager.

Hours:
This is a full time position of 37.5 hours per week over Monday to Friday.
From 1st July 2024 we are piloting a four day working week across the whole of the UK organisation. This pilot is planned to run for 12 months, at which point a decision will be made by our Board of Trustees as to whether this will become permanent. Success of the trial relies on the organisation being able to achieve the same or improved level of impact in four working days as five, with staff experiencing either the same or improved levels of wellbeing.
During the four day week pilot, working hours for this position will be reduced to 30 hours per week, to be worked across Monday to Thursday, with no reduction in salary. This will be a temporary change to the contractual terms for the successful candidate. The appointed person must be prepared to increase their working hours to 37.5 hours per week if a return to a five-day working week is decided. In the event that THL UK considers before the end of the trial period that the trial is having an adverse operational impact, we reserve the right to bring the trial to end on one month’s notice.
Who you are:
You will be passionate about The Humane League’s mission of ending the abuse of animals raised for food. With an attention to detail and strong written and verbal communications skills in English, you’ll have a keen eye for persuasive and punchy copy and an ability to adapt your tone of voice.
You will have a supporter-centric approach to communications, responding to comments and messages from a place of care and empathy. This will be paired with an ability to work with data and analytics to assess results.
You understand what audiences want to see from different channels, and how to get cut through and attention on each one.
You are a whizz with editing tools and can create compelling, dynamic content that hooks people in and keeps them watching.
While working with autonomy is an important part of your role, strong collaboration and communication skills are paramount to your success. And, you’ll be able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Primary Responsibilities:

Ownership of our social media channels, posting content regularly that is tailored to each channel and ensuring each channel’s features are used to create the biggest impact for our supporters.

Planning and building social media campaigns that strategically integrate goals and consider metrics.

Updating the communications calendar.

Create inspiring concepts and develop these into compelling, on-brand, platform-specific content using tools like Canva.

Social media community management including moderating and responding to comments and messages.

Regularly monitoring social trends to create topical content.

Using tools such as Google Analytics, Facebook insights, and Sprout Social to report on post performance and monitor and evaluate success, on a monthly basis.

Design, run, and monitor social media advertising campaigns to grow and mobilise our network.

Keep up to date with new features and tech related to social media platforms, as well as other organisations’ activity, to ensure the most engaging and effective content.

Encourage and assist staff members in producing social media content, supporting them with creative and technical guidance and giving feedback.

Contribute to other communications activities such as website and PR content, as necessary.

Attend events, protests and actions as necessary.

Update the wider team on social media progress and insights.

Perform any other duties assigned by the Digital Communications Manager or Head of Communications.

Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK), the UK’s leading dementia research charity, is seeking a mass fundraising specialist to head up its Individual Giving and Legacies Directorate.
ARUK has a vision of a world free from the fear, harm and heartbreak of dementia. The charity is working to revolutionise the way we treat, diagnose and prevent dementia and exists for a cure. With a network of centres of research excellence across the UK, alongside investing in the wider research community, ARUK has supported thousands of scientists working on breakthroughs in dementia research based across the UK and the world.
For the first time, new treatments are on the horizon that can slow the course of Alzheimer’s disease – the leading cause of dementia – and there have encouraging signs that blood tests could revolutionise its diagnosis. While these are promising steps forward, there is still a long way to transform the lives of people affected by all forms of dementia. That’s why the charity launched a new 10 year strategy in 2023 and a powerful new brand, to catalyse this progress and change lives.
This role will be the strategic lead for a directorate of approximately 40 people with a diverse portfolio covering direct marketing, legacy and in memoriam, data and CRM, and supporter care functions – teams that are responsible for generating around 50% of the charity’s fundraised income.
The Director will be responsible for developing and driving ARUK’s engagement and income growth ambitions, working alongside the Deputy Chief Executive & Executive Director of Fundraising and Marketing and fellow directors, with a focus on continuous improvement and learning. They will also work across the charity to maximise opportunities to engage new supporters, inspiring long-term relationships and ensuring that supporters are at the heart of everything ARUK does.
ARUK are looking for a fundraiser with extensive mass fundraising experience across direct marketing and legacies, and a track record in driving significant income growth by developing and executing acquisition and retention strategies. Purpose of the role
As a member of the Business Support Team, the post holder will work closely with our leads and their teams to understand and support organisational and programme requirements across our diverse and exciting areas of interest.
The post holder will work closely with others to plan, anticipate and deliver high-quality support across a range of NDTi projects and work areas. They will pro-actively contribute to organisational life and maintain NDTi’s reputation for excellence with our clients and stakeholder.
Key Activities
- Liaise and work with leads with confidence, replying to external and internal queries where possible and escalating others as needed. Keep in regular contract with team members ensuring that they, alongside external stakeholders, understand the support the post holder can provide.
- Gather the necessary information to complete key contractual paperwork throughout the project lifecycle, including contract set up and the prompt receipt and processing of client contracts. Work with the Finance Manager and relevant lead to ensure that invoicing schedules and billing particulars are up to date, that client specific activity reporting is completed accurately, and NDTi’s schedule for delivery is maintained.
- Maintain a schedule of project outputs and work to ensure reports, events and other deliverables are planned and delivered on time, liaising with colleagues across other work areas where needed.
- Plan, organise and effectively project manage regular events of both online and residential including at scale.
- Use existing and emerging technologies and established practices to set up and plan events, ensuring prompt co-ordination and confirmation of arrangements with venues, participants and presenters.
- Lead the process for delegate and stakeholder sign up, liaising with leads to ensure good representation and attendance levels are achieved. Work with the lead to ensure any specific requirements, for example, allocation of places and accessibility needs are managed and met.
- With the project coordinator, work to deliver the event on time and within budget. Keep leads updated, alerting them to potential overspend or other issues, such as take up/attendance levels that could impact the success of the event, as they arise.
- Actively update website and other source information about our team, our work, our events and our resources, ensuing they are up-to-date, and are in keeping with in house and project specific branding guidelines.
- Assist the Marketing and Communications Manager and wider team to connect with partners, stakeholders and groups with an interest in NDTi’s work via online platforms.
- Organise and lead on the booking process and internal organisation of CLS Network workshops and other Network-wide meetings.
- To manage all CLS invoicing ensuring data from contracts is transferred to an invoice and ensuring invoices are logged within the database.
- Collect data in relation to attendance across the CLS sites at Network wide events and workshops and provide regular reports to Network members and CLS team members as required.
- Attend large gatherings in person, lead the setting up and liaison with the venue and provide the welcome and any support to participants to ensure they get the most out of the experience.

The Social Media Officer Role:

About the role
Young Lives vs Cancer is seeking a highly skilled Media and PR leader to join them on a consultancy basis for a period of three months. The organisation has undertaken a significant piece of research in partnership with other leading children and young people cancer charities and through this research has been able to identify the areas where there are gaps in the system and in the support available to young people with cancer and their families.

The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced copywriter to help us achieve real impact by creating targeted, clear and engaging content that inspires Fellows to get involved, connect and share expertise with the wider Fellowship.
This role is based from RSA House in London for at least three days per week, with hybrid flexibility for the remaining days.
The internal title for this role is Fellowship Officer (Experience & Lifecycle Communications).
About You
What we are looking for in a candidate:
- Previous experience of copywriting for different audiences using brand tones and voice.
- A competent copywriter who writes creative and compelling content for various media.
- Ability to write clear, concise and engaging content.
- Previous involvement in designing and optimising email lifecycle marketing campaigns, including onboarding and engagement ones.
- Adaptability and willingness to iterate content based on user feedback, testing and changing requirements.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and work collaboratively with cross-departmental teams.
