The City and Guilds of London Art School is a small, independent Higher Education Institute. It traces its history back to the 1850s and has strong links to a number of City Livery Companies as well as certain Trusts and Foundations and individual donors. The Art School is now seeking a Development and External Relations Manager to drive forward its activities in these areas in accordance with our strategy and targets. A key aspect of the role is nurturing existing and developing new relationships within the Art School’s expanding base of supporters and collaborators, including through the organisation of events. We are looking for a self-starter with substantial experience of working in a fundraising role in the cultural or similar sector, and who can work on their own initiative as a key member of the Art School’s senior management team.

Charity People are delighted to be partnering with the Diocese of Southwark, a rich vibrant mix of churches, schools, chaplaincies and communities across South London and East Surrey, to bring on board a Racial Justice Development Lead.
The Diocese of Southwark is one of the 42 dioceses of the Church of England, created in 1905 from part of the ancient Diocese of Rochester. The Diocese covers South London and East Surrey, is one of the largest Dioceses in the Church of England and the most diverse, and is divided into three episcopal areas: Croydon, Kingston, and Woolwich. Today the Diocese ministers to nearly three million people over an area of 317 square miles through its 293 parishes and 105 church schools. The churches offer welcome, care and dignity to their parishes, supporting those in education, hospitals and prisons, and pioneering communities seeking to reach out and serve in new ways.
Working under the Bishop's Lead for Social and Racial Justice and the Diocesan Secretary, the Racial Justice Development Lead will promote and implement the Diocesan Anti-Racism Charter (ARC). Launched in March 2021, the ARC was introduced to actively counter, disrupt and oppose racial injustice. The role will focus on promotion, engagement, training, resources, research, and data monitoring, while addressing the needs of the wider Diocese and parishes.
Key responsibilities
- Advocate for racial justice within Diocesan structures, by promoting best practices in diversity, inclusion, and belonging with a biblical foundation.
- Provide support and advice to parishes, deaneries and clergy on implementing the Anti-Racism Charter and developing culturally appropriate worship and faith practices.
- Collaborate with parishes, schools and Area Racial Justice Groups to share experiences, support meetings, and coordinate events related to racial justice.
- Collect, analyse and report data on racial injustice, ensuring alignment with Diocesan and National Church Requirements, while staying informed on relevant trends.
Candidates will have a strong understanding of racial justice, anti-racism, equality, and inclusion, especially within a church context, and have proven ability to lead engagement/change programmes. The ideal candidate will be able to collaborate with diverse stakeholders from various disciplines and perspectives. Experience in organising medium to large events and a willingness to understand the structure and dynamics of the Church of England and its Dioceses is desirable. Collaboration is a core value for Diocesan staff and therefore you must be able to work as part of a team for this role.
The role may involve travel across the Diocese and requires flexibility, including occasional evening and weekend meetings.
This position is subject to an occupational requirement that the postholder be a practising Christian under Part 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act.

The newly created role of Philanthropy Coordinator at HorseWorld Trust is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the Head of Supporter Development to ensure the delivery of a proactive and sustainable major donor programme.

HorseWorld Trust was established in 1952, and is based in Whitchurch, near Bristol. Our highly trained Welfare department is committed to rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing horses, ponies and donkeys in need and our ground-breaking educational programme, called Discovery, supports emotional growth and learning in young people through hands-on experience with rescued equines.
Our Philanthropy Coordinator will proactively track and manage a pipeline of next and existing High Net Worth Individuals and support HorseWorld's Major Donor Working Group comprising the Chair of Trustees, CEO and Heads of Departments. You will be expected to provide insight and identify opportunities for connection plus manage and track the stewardship tools to guide donors through their giving journey, including cultivation plans, sourcing and presenting tailored information for donors. Facilitating and attending meetings and events, both in person and online, you will be ensuring steps are being taken to nurture donor relationships.
Collaboration is key as you will work with colleagues and volunteers across the organisation to support HorseWorld's fundraising efforts.
You will also initiative the relationship management of a new portfolio of mid value donors and prospects; ensuring the donors you work with are engaged with our cause, and that you are responding to their individual stewardship needs as you keep them updated with our work.

Understandably, such an involved role does require willingness to work outside normal office hours and on weekends/evening to support events. You will be prepared to provide cover for colleagues, when required, and a current full UK driving licence, plus own transport, is essential because you may be travelling within the South West region of the country.
