About EduSpots

EduSpots is a dynamic, community-driven UK and Ghana-registered charity that connects, trains, and equips volunteer community educators (known as ‘Catalysts’) to drive grassroots educational change. These efforts center around the creation and operation of community-led ‘Spots’—innovative education spaces benefiting learners of all ages.

Founded in 2016, EduSpots has grown to support 50 communities through 400 local Catalysts who play a central leadership role. We believe in a community-led model that can be adapted globally. Our Ghana-based team facilitates three leadership programmes—Ignite, Catalyse, and Inspire Mentoring—enabling Catalysts to run clubs focused on early-years education, digital literacy, STEM/environmental education, and gender equity, ultimately reaching over 15,000 learners each year.

EduSpots’ rapid growth has been recognized through accolades like the Tes International Award (2018) and the Big Give Supporters’ Choice Award (2022). About the Role

EduSpots is seeking a Global Philanthropy Manager—an engaging, dynamic, and proven fundraising specialist who will play a key part in our next phase of growth. As we continue to expand, we need an individual with a track record of securing income from trusts and foundations, ideally at the 5- to 6-figure level (GBP), and the ability to cultivate new funding partnerships.

In the past two years, we have doubled our income and expanded our programmes significantly. We are now poised for further growth and need someone who understands the value of community-driven change. You will collaborate closely with our CEO, Ghana-based Heads of Programmes, and Head of Operations to develop funding proposals and nurture donor relationships at a strategic level.

Depending on experience and availability, this role may involve overseeing a small part-time fundraising team (including a Fundraising Manager, Trusts and Foundations Manager, and Communications Manager). In time, the position could evolve into a Head of Fundraising role.

Key Responsibilities

1. Global Fundraising Strategy

   • Develop and execute an overarching fundraising strategy targeting medium-to-large, multi-year commitments from trusts, foundations, major donors, and (potentially) corporate partners.

   • Work closely with the CEO and leadership team to secure high-value partnerships.

2. Strategic Proposal Development

   • Collaborate with the CEO, Heads of Programmes, and Head of Operations to craft compelling organisational and programme-focused bids.

   • Contribute to EduSpots’ broader strategic development, aligning funding proposals with our organisational goals.

3. Donor Cultivation and Stewardship

   • Establish and maintain efficient donor identification, cultivation, and tracking systems.

   • Coordinate with the CEO and board members to leverage their networks for new funding opportunities.

   • Create bespoke stewardship plans that demonstrate the impact of donor support and build lasting relationships.

4. Communications and Networking

   • Work with the CEO and Communications Manager to develop a compelling case for support and accompanying engagement materials.

   • Actively represent EduSpots in relevant networks to increase our visibility among potential donors.

5. Donor Relationship Management

   • Oversee relationships with major donors, trusts, and foundations, including grant reporting and ongoing communications.

   • Manage donor databases and ensure accurate record-keeping.

6. Monitoring and Compliance

   • Track philanthropic trends to strengthen EduSpots’ fundraising effectiveness.

   • Ensure compliance with all relevant international fundraising regulations and ethical standards.

7. Team Leadership (Depending on Experience/Availability)

   • Potentially manage and mentor a small part-time fundraising team (Fundraising Manager, Trusts and Foundations Manager, Communications Manager), ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.

8. General Duties

   • Contribute to overall strategy development, annual business planning, and budgeting.

   • Carry out all administrative tasks related to the role accurately and efficiently.

   • Comply with all EduSpots’ policies and procedures.

   • Undertake other reasonable duties as required.

Skills, Experience, and Attributes

Essential

• Proven track record of income generation, ideally within education or international development.

• Extensive experience writing successful grant applications (5- to 6-figure GBP).

• Strong background in cultivating and managing relationships with trusts, foundations, and other grant-makers.

• Knowledge of a broad range of UK-based funders and some familiarity with international (European/US) funders.

• Understanding of programme development and management, ideally in an education context.

• Some experience in communications/marketing within an NGO setting.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities to engage diverse stakeholders.

• Ability to work autonomously in a remote role with minimal day-to-day supervision.

• Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, Google Drive, etc.).

• Deeply aligned with EduSpots’ values, including a commitment to community leadership, sustainable change, teamwork, play, passion, and care.

Desirable

As the deputy to the Director of Finance, the Financial Controller is a key finance leadership role responsible for the financial integrity of the organisations finances.  Leading on the financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting for the DBF, Coventry Cathedral and Together for Change, this role will ensure compliance with Charity, Company and Ecclesiastical legislation. Leading and guiding a team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Main Activities and Duties 

1. Reporting, Budgeting, Financial Management, Accounting processes and systems

• Overall responsibility for the production of the DBF monthly management accounts to budget holders by working day 8. Ensure that monthly reviews with budget holders take place; to monitor financial performance & recommend corrective action to budget holders when needed. Provide training & development opportunities to budget holders.
• Working with the Director of Finance to prepare  financial reports and commentary for the various  diocesan committees.
• Preparation of the annual report and financial statements for the DBF. Ensuring compliance with accounting standards & regulations. Liaise with auditors during the external audit ensuring all reports and supporting documentation are available.
• Develop & manage the annual budget for the DBF; in collaboration with budget holders. Provide financial forecasts & analysis to support strategic decision making.
• Maintain accurate records of all funds, ensuring proper allocation & usage. Preparation & submission of timely & accurate financial reports to donors & budget holders of these funds. Monitor & report on restricted & unrestricted funds.
• Lead change management initiatives to improve financial processes & systems. Identify opportunities for process improvement & implement best practices throughout all three organisations. Engage with stakeholders to ensure successful adoption of changes. Monitor & evaluate the impact of changes on financial operations.
• Implement & maintain robust internal controls. Ensure compliance with financial policies & procedures. Conduct regular reviews and audits of financial processes.
• Oversee the calculation, collection & reporting of Parish Share contributions. Ensure accurate & transparent reporting for the Deanery Share allocations. Communicate with parishes to provide guidance & support on Parish Share matters.

2. Leadership

• To provide leadership and clear direction to the team ensuring appraisals with SMART objectives that form the basis of regular monthly meetings reviewing individual and team performance. 
• Working closely with the Director of Finance providing regular updates on the finances of each of organisations that the finance team supports.
• To attend training courses and events to maintain the professional accountancy qualification and competency to ensure that the post holder is aware of best practice and upcoming developments affecting the DBF, Cathedral and TFC.
• Developing relationships with budget holders to understand the drivers for expenditure, proactively providing advice and guidance to build commercial awareness.
• Providing advice and support to parishes on basic queries relating to finance and charity reporting matters.  Using the data available in the department from Parish Finance returns and accounts to understand the impact of the financial health of the parishes on the DBF.

Role Purpose

The Operations Director is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective running of all operational aspects of Katherine Low Settlement. • Campaign Development & Management: Lead and execute the Better Business Act (BBA) campaign, set KPIs, track progress, and ensure alignment with B Lab UK’s policy strategy. Oversee BBA communications, manage relationships with spokespeople, and ensure Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (JEDI) principles are embedded.

Founded by William Wilberforce and other members of the Clapham Sect group of activists in 1799, today CMS supports hundreds of people and partners in mission working together across Africa, Asia, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and the UK displaying the love of Jesus to many people who might not have believed he was for them.

Context

With mission no longer being a “West to the rest” endeavour, and as Christianity has flourished in parts of the majority world, we have undertaken a prayerful review of our organisation. We have rediscovered and been re-inspired by the pioneering spirit of our founders. We believe our calling for this time is to the “edges”: to the edges of society, the edges of church and to the edges of our comfort zones. To that end, we have been aligning our organisation and focus to play a catalytic role in facilitating movements of mission to and from these edges through our new “hub” approach to mission and often working with partners in the wider Anglican Communion.

The Role

We are looking for a collaboratively-minded and empowering CEO to take this new approach and focus to mission forward, to promote it to this generation, to the Anglican Communion and beyond. With a strong senior leadership team, committed board and annual income of around £8m, you will lead our strategic development, implement the agreed plan to 2027, and build the financial sustainability of CMS for the decades ahead.

We are therefore looking for a mission-hearted leader of integrity with a strong strategic ability, deep theological understanding, mature Christian faith and an ability to build relationships and compellingly share the amazing way that God’s Kingdom is coming to the edges through CMS.

Working closely with the Executive Director, senior team members and trustees, we are looking for an Executive Assistant and Company Secretary who has knowledge and experience of working with senior management and trustees in the arts and/or charitable sector to support the effective governance and leadership of the organisation.

You will be highly organised, diplomatic, and proactive with good attention to detail.

Contract and Hours
Permanent, full or part-time, 1.0 (36.25 hours / 5 days) or 0.8 ( 29 hours / 4 days) per week, 9.15-5.30pm per day, including lunch break. Minimum two days per week are to be worked at Crafts Council office, with requirement to attend all relevant Board and committee meetings and key staff events.

Crafts Council aims to support flexible working and part time arrangements where it is appropriate for the role.

Salary
£28,000 to £34,000 gross per annum based on full-time working, dependent upon experience.

Location
Crafts Council Office and Gallery is based in Islington, London, with some hybrid / home working.

Role to Commence
As soon as possible from May 2025 onwards.

Reporting to
Managed by the Executive Director and supporting the Senior Management Team and Trustees.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as Company Secretary for board and committee meetings - Organise meetings, planning up to a year in advance and working with trustees to ensure availability
• Prepare papers, ensure that they are issued in a timely manner, draft minutes, keep log of follow up actions
• Support the Executive Director with email and correspondence
• Drafting responses and acting as a first responder, provide personal assistant duties and leadership administration, such as arranging internal and external meetings, travel itineraries and diary management
• Meeting preparation: Prepare agendas, gather necessary materials, and follow up on action items from meetings
• Support the Executive Director in drafting briefing documents, reviewing policy documents and providing succinct summaries
• Project support: Assist with project management tasks, including research, data compilation, and presentation preparation
• Make use of time-saving tools (AI) and ensure that Executive Office is run efficiently and productively
• Support Craft Council Executive team with administration duties, including diary management, presentation design, meeting and travel co-ordination and follow up, processing invoices and expenses
• Support with event management where required, e.g. board and staff away days
• Support the recruitment and induction of new trustees, ensuring that induction packs are up to date and accurate
• Provide administrative support to the Chairs & trustees as required
• Reconcile financial expenditure, such as credit cards, raise purchase orders and code invoices as required
• Be an ambassador for the Crafts Council and represent it at appropriate events
• Be discrete, maintaining confidentiality and being comfortable dealing with a wide range of people

Note: Board related meetings include Trustee meetings (4 per year), Finance Audit & Risk meetings ( 4 - 6 per year), Nominations and Remuneration Committee meetings (x 1 per year) and other Committees and Panels (as required).

General

The postholder will:

About Ataxia UK

Ataxia is the umbrella term for a group of neurological conditions and Ataxia UK is the UK’s leading ataxia support and research charity. Ataxia UK collaborates with the global ataxia community through our Research team, and we are on the board of the international non-profit association, Euro-ataxia. Our Services team focuses on helping everyone affected by ataxia in the UK to live their best life. We have a Helpline and Advocacy service providing information, advice, and 1-2-1 support to help people access their rights; whilst the InControl Community Engagement service provides activities, engagement and volunteering opportunities to bring the ataxia community together and reduce feelings of isolation. 

About the Role  

You will be joining at an exciting time for Ataxia UK as we celebrate our 60th anniversary year.

This brand-new role is an important part of our new strategy to sustainably grow our unrestricted income. Working closely with the Director of Fundraising & Communications and the wider team, the Senior Philanthropy Manager will lead the work to build a pipeline of major donors and family trusts and foundations.

You will be responsible for developing an excellent stewardship programme which nurtures income-generating relationships with Ataxia UK’s major donors. You will initially work with a fixed-term Philanthropy Consultant to lead the development of a researched and actionable pipeline of prospective new donors, and you will then work to successfully engage this pipeline. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a brand-new function as a senior member of an experienced team of fundraisers.

Ataxia UK operates a hybrid- working policy, with part time staff working 3 or 4 days a week expected to work from our offices in Highgate a minimum of 1 day a week. The role will require some occasional travel within the UK and, more rarely, internationally.

About you

The right candidate will be a natural relationship builder with a proven track record of securing high value, long term partnerships with major donors; personally securing 5 and 6-figure gifts.

You will use excellent communication skills to write compelling and tailored cases for support. As a key member of the Fundraising & Communications department, you will bring creativity, insight and experience to the team, and you will be a confident ambassador and representative internally and externally.

As an experienced major donor fundraiser, you will be comfortable and confident engaging with High-Net-Worth Individuals and their offices, celebrities, politicians and c-suite professionals. You will have the flexibility to join events and or meet donors and prospective donors at locations around the UK. As an ambassador of our brand, you will have the skills and experience to ensure you positively represent the interests of the ataxia community, and you will be someone who shares our commitment to supporting those affected by ataxia.

The Magistrates’ Association’s aim is to help our members be the best magistrates they can be for the good of society. One of the key ways we do this is by helping them develop their skills and competences. This role gives the successful applicant an opportunity to help shape the training and development of magistrates, working alongside our experienced and knowledgeable members and volunteers. In any day, you might be involved in:

• Working with our expert training, learning and development committee to develop learning and development materials for our members
• Managing and developing MA learn, our online member learning portal, and developing it as a member benefit
• Producing learning materials, and developing our programme of learning webinars for our members 
• Supporting our branches in the development of their outreach programmes, to educate the public about magistrates and justice
• Working in partnership with the Judicial College and the MA’s representatives on training bodies to improve the quality of training for magistrates.
