Bid Jobs in Greater London
Are you someone who wants to use your knowledge and skills in the advice field to play a lead role in growing and developing a small service into a leading quality advice provider?
This role would suit someone without management experience, who is already working in an advice role and seeks career development, or equally someone with experience of managing advice services.
You will have in-depth and up-to-date knowledge and recent experience of providing casework in welfare benefits, and a willingness to seek further training in basic housing and community care. We will consider applicants who can add to their base welfare benefits knowledge with intensive training within a short period.
You will carry your own caseload while also providing line management, mentoring and support to one trainee advisor. We would expect the Advice Manager’s caseload to reduce over time as we develop and grow the number of advisors on the team.
A key aspect of this role will be working with the CEO to get the organisation ready for the Advice Quality Standard and on the recruitment, training and support of volunteer advisors.
We would expect the post holder to be proactive in developing the service, preparing information to support funding bids and to be able to think creatively on how we can meet the needs of Camden’s diverse disability community through advice and information.
You will be committed to learning more about the Social Model of Disability and will share our vision for a radically inclusive world where people with differences are never Disabled by the society in which they live.
Summary
This is an exciting time for the Philanthropy and Partnerships team as we develop a rich and evolving portfolio of strategic projects that will appeal to a wide range of funders. As the Trusts and Statutory Officer, you'll play a crucial role in driving fundraising for our new strategic focus on key priorities identified by people living with diabetes.
You'll be responsible for bringing in income of circa £200,000 for the Trusts and Statutory team from a high-volume portfolio, with a view to increasing its value year on year.
We have a friendly and inclusive working environment here at Diabetes UK and are proud of our hybrid approach which allows great flexibility in the way that we work. This means that you can balance your working time between home and the office, subject to the needs of your role.

Working closely with Country Managers/Directors, and programme and grant management colleagues, the post-holder will lead on: coordinating and facilitating programme development processes (including taking the lead in drafting high quality concept notes and proposals, theories of change, logical models, risk matrixes and budgets); developing and supporting the implementation of long-term country funding strategies and donor engagement strategies; and supporting new donor engagement and sustaining relationships with current donors. The post-holder will be responsible for growing institutional funding portfolios in our programmes.
The post-holder will have a successful track record in developing programmes and leading new business development efforts with institutional donors such as the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), United States Government (USG)/United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the European Union (EU), UN agencies and European Governments such as Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida). Additional experience in mobilising resource from trusts and foundations and other non-traditional funding mechanisms is desirable.
They will have proven skills and experience in programme management and support, successful programme design processes and bid leadership.
