The Latin American Women’s Rights Service (LAWRS) is a human rights, feminist organisation led by and for Latin American migrant women in the UK. Our work is dedicated to supporting the immediate and long-term needs of Latin American migrant women exposed to violations of their fundamental human rights; facing violence against women and girls, exploitation or trafficking; enduring difficult living and working conditions in low paid jobs, and facing barriers to social protection. Around 2,000 women use our services every year, benefitting from practical and emotional support, learning new skills and improving their own opportunities. We strive to provide essential tools for women to empower themselves in their pursuit of personal and social change.

LAWRS’ Generalist Advice service provides information, advice, casework, advocacy and support to Latin American migrant women in the areas of housing, welfare benefits, money, employment rights and immigration.

The Generalist Advice Caseworker will have an excellent command of English and Portuguese and will join the Generalist Advice Team and be responsible for undertaking a caseload of service users, providing free, confidential, one-to-one information, advice, casework and advocacy for Latin American women in the areas of housing, welfare benefits, money, employment rights and immigration, according to their expertise. 

The post holder is responsible for ensuring adherence to the Advice Quality Standards.

The Business Engagement Manager (Delivery) will join a small team that supports businesses and organisations across a broad range of sectors to develop their modern slavery approach.

The role underpins one of the main strands in Unseen’s mission: identifying key slavery and exploitation issues, and equipping others with effective solutions through advice and training.

You will manage a number of business clients, both existing and new clients as they onboard, delivering consultancy projects and bespoke training, influencing and continuously improving business behaviours; working with clients to help them realise the benefits of their Hub and Portal memberships.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Schools’ Adviser to join the Education team in the Diocese of Chester.

Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (M.E.) is a long-term (chronic), fluctuating, neurological disease that causes symptoms affecting many body systems, more commonly the nervous and immune systems. M.E. affects an estimated 250,000 people in the UK, and around 17 million people worldwide.

Action for M.E. is the only charity in the UK providing direct support to children and adults with M.E. We provide vital support services, campaign for change and invest in ground-breaking research to help put an end to the ignorance, injustice and neglect experienced by people with M.E. 

We are looking for an empathic and resilient individual to join a friendly and well-established team of part-time, remote-based Information and Support Officers, on a 12-month contract. The purpose of this role is to provide a holistic, client-centred, effective and efficient Information and Support Service to people affected by M.E. We do this primarily via outgoing calls made in response to triaged voicemail messages, and also via email.

You can choose to be home-based anywhere in the UK, work from our Bristol office, or a hybrid of the two.

Our Information and Support Service team has a deep understanding of the issues affecting people with M.E. and their family and carers. Some of our clients come to us in considerable distress so this work isn’t always easy, but it can be incredibly rewarding and is valued by our clients and the wider organisation.

You will need experience of working in a service providing information, advice, support or advocacy by telephone and email (or proven transferable skills). You will be experienced and confident at working with people in distress, and identifying and escalating safeguarding concerns, with the courage and emotional resilience to set and maintain realistic boundaries.

• Offering emotional support via active, empathic listening, including to people in significant distress.

Together with people with lived experience, Praxis campaigns for a compassionate and humane immigration system where no one is discriminated against based on their immigration status, race, or class.

Praxis has recently significantly scaled up its campaigns and communications work. We are looking for a new Stories and Media Coordinator to join our Fundraising and Communications team, to help ensure that people with lived experience of the immigration system are the driving force of our dynamic communications work, whilst also building the organisation’s profile and amplifying our systems-change work.

About Women in Prison

Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. We also campaign for systems change that addresses the root causes of offending, reduces the harmful impact of prison, and creates workable, community-based alternatives to imprisonment.

Job Purpose:

You will be joining Women in Prison’s new fundraising team which secures funding from a range of sources including individual donors, corporate supporters, and charitable trusts and foundations. This role will set the foundations for Women in Prison’s ambitious fundraising plans leading on securing gifts from trusts and foundations and ensuring that all secured grants are well managed and effectively reported on. About the role:

The school is graded ‘Outstanding' but as we look to maintain our excellence, we are seeking a new Head of Business and Operations to play a crucial role in supporting the Head (2 years in post) to review and drive continuous improvement.

Whilst overseeing the financial and operational aspects of the school, your primary focus will be to work collaboratively with the Headteacher on enhancing efficiencies and effectiveness for improved functioning of the school, its infrastructure, and operations — but most importantly for pupil outcomes.

Business Development: Working with the charity’s CPO to source new business opportunities both in terms of growing and expanding the charity’s core programmes and identifying new innovations and funding. 5. Operations and Finances: Working with the COO to ensure the financial stability of the charity and protecting and managing the charity’s assets.

6. Impact: Overseeing the work of the Director of Impact to ensure that the charity strengthens its approach to monitoring and evaluation, and that all preparations are successfully completed ahead of a potential independent external evaluation of our core programme in 25/26.

7. External Affairs: Overseeing both our fundraising and advocacy workstreams, including the development of relationships with new funders and politicians and policymakers. Representing the charity at external events (including certain conferences and fundraising events), and safeguarding the charity’s reputation and values, ensuring that risks are properly recognised and mitigated.

Required Experience / Characteristics

• A proven senior leader, with experience of delivering against ambitious targets across multiple departments or programmes and working with a Board of Trustees or directors

The Turn2us E-learning resource is a key project aiming to equip non-professional advisers with the knowledge and tools they need to effectively support people experiencing financial insecurity.

Our e-learning project is in its early stages. While we've laid the groundwork and prepared initial courses, there's significant potential for the right candidate to make a substantial impact on its further development and expansion.

You’ll also be working with our benefits experts and communications team to create high quality information content for a variety of platforms and mediums.

You will be someone with experience in the creation of varied and high-quality digital and print content both written and visual, in particular e-learning courses, as well as a passion for developing a deep understanding of our users and their needs.

The ideal candidate can work independently and manage their own time to hit project deadlines. You will enjoy working as part of a small team but will also be able to work across the whole organisation to develop new content. You have great communication skills and are comfortable working with users, community groups and other stakeholders to discover their learning needs.

We offer flexible working patterns, both in terms of hours and remote working. Please note that all employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 4 days a month.

Some roles may be required to be in the office more often than others and this will be agreed with the hiring manager upon starting at Turn2us.
