Through the appointment of a Strategic Programme Director (SPD), we have been given an opportunity to bring a step change in our mission and ministry across the Diocese of Coventry. With a history of innovative missional practice and a dedicated team of lay and ordained leaders across our diverse geographical area (Warwickshire, Coventry and part of Solihull), we are looking to appoint a strategic thinker who is solutions focused with experience in bringing impactful change. The SPD will join us at an exciting time in the strategic development of the Diocese of Coventry as our new diocesan bishop takes up her responsibilities with a vision to see all churches flourish. A highly consultative approach will be needed as we look ahead to the beginning of this new season.
The Strategic Programme Director will be responsible for contributing to and supporting the Bishop’s Senior Staff Team and key lay and ordained leaders in the delivery of the diocesan strategy. The role will ensure that the programmes, projects and workstreams within the plan are delivered on time, within scope and budget. The Programme Director will provide oversight of the strategic plan from inception of ideas through implementation to delivery of projects. Working collaboratively across the Diocese, the role will also ensure that key outcomes are well-defined, appropriately prioritised, delivered to plan and within budget. The role will include shaping and scoping the request for partnership/external funding.
Programme Development & Planning
- In the first year: To prioritise the clear articulation of a diocesan wide vision and direction of travel through working closely with the Bishop and the Bishop’s Senior Staff Team building on the work achieved in recent years.
- Work with key stakeholders to develop strategic initiatives aligned with the diocesan vision and strategy
- Ensure strategic proposals have clarity and viability
- Ensure effective communication with clarity, consistency and transparency
- Work with senior leaders to prioritise outline proposals
- Work with senior leaders to develop change proposals including detailed outcomes and the process by which those outcomes will be achieved
- Regularly assess the viability of development proposals
- Work with partnership funding bodies, including the C of E Vision and Strategy Team, to submit funding proposals and assure the quality of applications for any partnership funding
- Represent the Diocese in discussions with partnership funders
- Work with senior leaders to make the best use of central resources to support change
Programme Management
- Facilitate the launch of partnership-funded strategic projects, ensuring they are appropriately planned, resourced, measured and managed.
- Establish appropriate programme governance, including risk management, change management, regular reporting, and budget management
- Work with the communications team to ensure consistent and effective messaging
- Establish review and support processes to ensure projects are delivered successfully
- Ensure intervention processes are developed to pause, or if necessary, terminate projects that have demonstrated they will not deliver

As our Lead Learning & Development Specialist you’ll support BHF in the successful delivery of this organisational wide Enterprise Foundations programme.
You’ll lead, design, manage and evaluate engaging learning experiences that will enable colleagues to enhance their skills. Helping colleagues to adopt changes to key systems and processes within BHF, as well as ways of working and culture, you’ll stay ahead of the curve and will, ultimately, help BHF to achieve our transformation goals.
You’ll work closely with key colleagues in this Enterprise Foundation Change Programme, as well as third-party partners to successfully maximise engagement, commitment, adoption and sustainable. You’ll also collaborate closely with the wider L&D team, business leaders and subject matter experts to drive learning initiatives aligned to transformation goals.
Working arrangements

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London Office.

About you
Experienced in designing and delivering complex learning programmes for both technical skills (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics, Azure, Power BI) and behavioural skills (e.g. communication), you’ll have previously experience managing complex learning programmes with multiple audiences, workstreams and stages, as well as experience in developing online learning resources and delivering virtual learning experiences.
You’ll be an all-round L&D Specialist but who has experience with technical training and can understand/pick up new tech quickly, able to work directly with subject matter experts and not get overwhelmed by the jargon.

Job purpose

About CoppaFeel!
CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity, and we’re on a mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest. We educate people on the signs of breast cancer and encourage them to check their chests monthly, so that if they notice something unusual they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves.

The Head of Public Fundraising will sit within the Fundraising team and report to the Director of Fundraising. You will have a team of 3, with 2 direct reports.
This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that you will attend the London office 2 days per week. You will be required to attend the office for quarterly team meetings, department meetings and in person training, we will provide plenty of notice for when you are required to be in for these purposes.
Duties & Responsibilities
Strategy
- Develop and deliver strategies to secure donations from individual donors, driving repeat gifts and income to meet your annual target and agreed KPI’s.
- Use your expertise in multi-channel fundraising including digital, direct mail, email and social media.
- Oversee and expand our fundraising initiatives including DIY fundraising, lottery, gaming, legacy, and fundraising appeals across all marketing channels to increase number of donors and donations and boosting average donation values.
- Understand and advocate for supporters, inspiring them to engage and donate, ensuring our thanking and engagement strategies encourage repeat giving.
- Develop new fundraising products ensuring our donor profiling analysis sits at the heart of new development.
- Ensure ROI and key performance metrics are used to make evidence based decisions.
- Work closely with Heads of Department to deliver the CoppaFeel! strategy.
Leadership
- Work within the leadership team to maintain the CoppaFeel! culture reflecting and championing the organisations values of positivity, creativity, community and impact.
- Work closely with all Heads of Departments to collaborate on projects and stay across the direction of all teams.
- Lead and inspire the Individual Giving Manager and Digital Fundraising Manager to meet their objectives and live the CoppaFeel! Values.
- Work with the Director of Fundraising and leadership in fundraising to set the ways of working and high performance of the team.
- Champion public fundraising across CoppaFeel! helping to develop a fundraising culture at the organisation.
Management
- Manage and support the Individual Giving Manager, Digital Fundraising Manager and oversee the Individual Giving Assistant, ensuring they have annual performance reviews, learning and development plans, KPI’s, and are supported to meet their fundraising targets.
- Responsible for the knowledge of regulation relevant to individual giving and public fundraising including GDPR and the Fundraising Regulator Code of Fundraising Practice.
- Manage and oversee compelling fundraising communications and targeting external audiences using a range of direct response channels.
- Oversee the management of our new gaming fundraising strategy.
- Develop and oversee new fundraising products, including launching a new celebrity led fundraising initiative.
- Oversee and continue to develop our new legacy fundraising initiatives at CoppaFeel! ensuring we are stewarding legacy pledgers and legacy partners.
- Work with the Head of Finance on budgeting, reporting, re-forecasting income and ROI.
- Produce progress reports as required to the Director of Fundraising.
Administration
- Develop dashboards with the Database Executive for ease of reporting KPI’s for Public Fundraising at CoppaFeel!.
- Ensure systems are kept up to date including Beacon CRM, and CoppaFeel! shared Google drive.
- Excellent record keeping at all times of public fundraising campaigns and communications on the CoppaFeel! shared Google drive.
- Keep diary and shared calendar up-to-date, shared communications across the organisation including desk booking systems, People HR, Weekly Round Up and contribute to team meetings.
- Ensure excellent financial records are kept including invoicing, contracts for suppliers, cheques and cash collections, and team expenses, following CoppaFeel! finance policies.

Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our prison-based reading and numeracy programme, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.
Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach.
This role will be prison based.
