You may not have experience in all of these areas, but you will be a fast learner and willing to pick things up on the job. You will be an excellent communicator, with strong interpersonal skills to speak to and thank donors both verbally and in writing. You will also have strong IT skills, be organised, proactive, and committed.

Who we are
Rainforest Trust is a leading global organisation sponsoring the creation and expansion of protected and conserved areas, playing a central role in combating biodiversity loss and fighting climate change. Rainforest Trust UK (RTUK) is set up as a separate charity to tax-efficiently raise funds from donors here in the UK for Rainforest Trust’s conservation projects. We are currently a team of seven people, but we are affiliated to, and supported by, the Rainforest Trust team in the U.S., which has a team of about 40 staff. In 2023 the global charity raised $46 million for conservation projects in Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America, with the UK charity contributing £2.2 million of this.

We currently work remotely, meeting up 2 days per month in London to work alongside each other in a shared office, or to run events for our supporters. 

Key Responsibilities (see attached job description for full list)
- Deal promptly with donations received on a daily basis, following our processes to ensure supporters are appropriately thanked.
- Respond to day-to-day enquiries from Rainforest Trust UK supporters via phone, email and post.
- Support the Fundraising Manager in sending communications to the donor base, utilising content from Rainforest Trust Global, checking for accuracy and ensuring all communications adhere to Rainforest Trust’s brand guidelines.
- Lead on the daily management of Rainforest Trust UK’s social media channels, including scheduling posts and responding to comments/messages.
- Be the main point of contact for fundraisers, schools and other community groups raising funds for Rainforest Trust UK.

Working Arrangements and Travel Requirements - You will be predominantly home-based (so you will need an excellent internet connection) and expected to commute to London two days per month to work in-person, alongside the team.

The Grant Funding Assistant processes applications from food banks including the awarding and paying of grants to food banks in the Trussell Trust network.  They maintain data on grant applications and awards, for routine processes and for communications with grant applicants. 

Role responsibilities

· To deliver clear, informative and timely communications about the grant funding programme to stakeholders, including to potential and actual grant applicants, and foodbank-facing staff

Philanthropic Partnerships Assistant, Global Greengrants Fund

The Role

The Philanthropic Partnerships Assistant plays an important role in supporting the financial sustainability objectives of GGF UK. The postholder is responsible for managing a portfolio of trust and foundations partnerships giving up to $200,000 per year, and will also be responsible for stewarding our portfolio of individual giving supporters donating up to £10,000 per year. The role also contributes to GGF UK’s communications activity in collaboration with our global Communications function, as well as contributing to ensuring that the organisation’s fundraising activity is supported with robust infrastructure and processes.

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in fundraising from trusts, foundations, and/or individual donors, ideally within environmental, international, or rights-based organisations. They will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and time management skills, effectively prioritising tasks to deliver excellent results within a complex, varied, and time-sensitive workload.

With excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, the candidate will have a proven ability to create compelling proposals, presentations, reports, and other materials. They will possess strong IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office, Google Apps, and collaboration tools like Trello and Slack, along with experience using Salesforce or other CRM systems. The candidate will have a strong understanding of and commitment to environmental and social justice, with some knowledge of the issues addressed by Global Greengrants Fund. You will assist with the day-to-day delivery of a support service across the UK, including regular line management and case management supervision of Outreach and Engagement Practitioners and Womens Services Officers. You will also support the Programme Manager in planning the set up and launch of the support service in Northern Ireland.

Alongside service delivery, you will develop innovative ways to listen to and support women experiencing gambling harm. The Women’s Pathway also delivers awareness raising training for professionals and digital support tools and resources for both women and professionals across the UK. You will work collaboratively with the training provision to develop digital support content, ensuring a joined-up offer to women and professionals.

You will need the ability to provide leadership to the Women’s Pathway on delivering safe, effective and women focused gambling harm support.

You will have demonstrable experience of case management and case management supervision for clients with varying needs who are seeking a change in behaviour to overcome harm caused.

About the role

The primary purpose of the Senior Administrative Manager will be to support the NTD (Neglected Tropical Disease) Department in functioning effectively and efficiently. This role involves coordinating administrative and support systems, procedures, and sub-teams essential for the management of the NTD portfolio.

Background

Sightsavers’ NTD directorate oversees projects funded by various donors to control and eliminate five PC-NTDs: onchocerciasis, lymphatic filariasis, trachoma, schistosomiasis, and soil-transmitted helminths in 28 countries. These projects are executed by country office teams, ministries of health, and partners, with operational and technical support from the NTD Department.

Principal Accountabilities 

• Oversee the creation and renewal of requested consultancy agreements with Human Resources, ensuring appropriate procedures are followed and records are kept updated.
• Manage the contractual organisation of the team of internationally located technical consultants and work with the relevant Global Disease Advisor to coordinate all aspects of support missions undertaken by the them 
• Ensure professional meeting support for all external NTD meetings with donors and international partners as requested by the NTD SMT.  This includes logistics, room bookings, agendas, slides, recording, virtual participation where required and minute documentation and distribution. 

• Assemble information as required for presentations, communications and reports, and manage internal document storage systems (Microsoft SharePoint and Teams). 

• Support the Grant Directors and IFT to compile key donor milestone reports and ensure a fully functional and accessible external ShareFile system for key donor groups where required

• Support communications both within the NTD Department team and with external stakeholders through dissemination of newsletters and maintaining contact lists. 

• Using all members of the admin team, coordinate the support for all regular internal PDU calls (recurring invites, agenda sharing and minute taking).

• Provide travel support to the SMT and Grant Directors where requested. 

• Manage/supervise NTD Dept Coordinator

• Undertake additional ad-hoc administrative duties as required.

About the role

Our dedicated team moderates our full-service accounts (all organic content and paid ads) as well as one-off campaigns and appeals for some of the most recognisable charities in the sector. 

This role is perfect for skilled comms experts who can provide excellent supporter care and is best suited as an additional source of income (the majority of our team are freelancers and consultants). You must be able to begin moderation at 9 am (or earlier), wrap up by 9 pm and adhere to our sub-three-hour response time. 

Our moderators must have a minimum of three years’ in-house, third-sector comms experience. 

As a Social Media Moderator, you would be responsible for:

• Becoming the voice of the cause you are representing, adhering to their brand guidelines and tone of voice at all times

• Identifying, escalating and signposting any safeguarding issues

• Managing your own time and work on own initiative

• Working across a range of social media management tools

• Responding/actioning to all comments and queries in under three hours

• Maximising donations when required 

• Going above and beyond at all times to provide supporters with an incredible experience

Our moderation takes place between 9 am and 9 pm, Monday-Sunday. 

Different accounts will require varying levels of ‘active’ hours (defined as time spent taking action). You will split your active hours between 9am and 9pm. For example, for an account which requires three active hours, you might carry out your work in six, thirty minute instalments throughout the shift.

As you gain experience, you will be allocated multiple accounts which will enable you to increase your hours worked. 

Whilst you need to be on hand to monitor your accounts during 9am-9pm, the role does allow for a great deal of personal flexibility.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' professional comms experience, working with a large charity with an active social media following. They will understand the importance of building positive engagement and relationships with the public and be committed to act in the best interests of our charity partners.

Funded by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and managed by the Tropical Health and Education Trust (THET), the Global Health Workforce Programme (GHWP) aims to develop the health workforce (HWF) in Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria and Somaliland supporting them to build stronger, more resilient health systems for post-pandemic recovery and to make progress towards UHC.

Grants for UK-LMIC and cross-LMIC health partnerships will be awarded to respond to national HWF priorities identified through a scoping assessment carried out by THET with DHSC, FCDO, national Governments and stakeholders (such as local World Health Organisation offices). These grants will run until December 2025.   

With a strong focus on building local ownership and sustainability, these partnerships will contribute to the following programmatic outcomes:

1. Partnerships contributing towards improved health workforce leadership capacity aligned with health workforce strategies, that will support reduction in gender inequalities.

2. Partnerships aligning with and contributing towards retention and wellbeing strategies.

3. Improved number and quality of training opportunities for health workers.

4. Co-developed and documented learning on health workforce interventions shared with key national and international stakeholders.

THET will award 28-36 strategic grants of £100,000 – £350,000 that feed into the country scoping priorities and outputs outlined above. The grants will broadly be split across the six countries; however, the exact split is dependent on the number and quality of applications received and broader priorities.   

20-28 smaller grants of up to £50,000 will also be available for projects that tackle specific areas such as innovation, rural health facilities, diaspora engagement, leadership opportunities for women and protected groups, and the climate crisis.   

Grants will be available to UK-LMIC health partnerships and LMIC-LMIC health partnerships. There are no institutional eligibility criteria as long as ODA rules are followed, so grants can be awarded to healthcare providers, royal colleges, universities, professional associations, NGOs, alliances, diaspora networks etc, but not to Ministry of Health departments.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Oversee consultants’ invoicing and payments process and staff expense claims

· Prompt consultants to send invoices at the end of the month

· Review receipts and time claimed against contract and allowable expenses, file documents and send to Programme Manager for approval

· Monitor consultants’ time and expenses in trackers

· Review expense claims from THET staff related to GHWP, file documents and send to Programme Manager for approval

· Monitor payments in tracker

· Follow up with Finance team regarding payments

3. Provide support to recruitment/contracting process

· Support with developing/adapting recruitment documents (application log, creating folders in Sharepoint)

· Support with drafting contracts based on information provided by Programme Manager/Coordinator

4. Provide support to reporting process

· Support with development of templates and updating basic information in the report

· Proofread and format reports before finalisation and submission by the Programme Manager

5. Support the Programmes Manager and Programmes Coordinator

· Provide ad hoc administrative and logistical support to the team as required

· Support with filing documents in Sharepoint

· Support with drafting briefings
