We support families across London, Surrey and Sussex whose children are facing cancer or a life-challenging condition. We’re there whatever the outcome, for as long as needed, so that no family has to cope alone.
The charity was founded in 2004 by our now Chief Executive and has grown enormously over that time. We currently have partnerships with 9 hospitals who refer families to us for our support, which ranges from therapies and counselling, to respite holidays and special family experiences.
We’re on a mission to help many more families with seriously ill children to know that they are not alone, and we’ll need brilliant and talented people to share our ambition and make it happen.

Main Purpose of the Role
Momentum Children’s Charity’s fundraising team is highly ambitious, driven by our goal to help families of seriously ill children in London, Surrey and Sussex to keep moving forward. Corporate income currently comprises circa 18% of the overall income. But with our expansion in hospital partnership geography, and aspiration to provide support to more families in the future, the expansion of this income stream will be key to this growth.
Working with the Corporate Partnerships Lead, this person will enjoy helping to develop all facets of the corporate fundraising area, working with and forging relationships with businesses to develop opportunities, fundraising and charitable giving, provide outstanding stewardship and relationship management, as well as helping to research and grow a healthy, robust pipeline of new opportunities.

Main Areas of Responsibility
- Work with the Corporate Lead to maximise current and new income, to ensure delivery of the annual target
- Provide a high level of partnership management through stewardship, and effective and regular communications
- Generate, develop, and implement ideas and opportunities to maximise partnerships for the benefit of the entire organisation, including fundraising, pro bono support, volunteering, and gifts in kind
- Support on the development and management of new corporate partners as assigned by the Corporate Lead
- Support the Corporate Lead with the development and maintenance of a dense corporate new business pipeline through ongoing research

- Knowledge or experience of working in a charity

In 2020, the National Lottery Heritage Fund awarded Hackney Council £4.4million to bring Abney Park’s chapel back into use, create workshops and a new café at its main entrance and make the site more accessible.
Redevelopment of the site has been completed, and we are now looking for someone to help deliver and coordinate a long term sustainable volunteering program. You will be supporting the delivery of the Activity Plan and raising vital funds to help improve the Park. You will work closely with the Abney Park Manager as well as the Abney Park Trust, a small volunteer-run charity who work in partnership with Hackney Council. This is a challenging role, but you will have the satisfaction of working to protect and enhance somewhere with regional and national significance.
You will understand the importance of parks in an inner city environment and have volunteer programing and management skills, along with a record of delivering fundraising income and achieving targets.
You must also have a broad range of other skills, particularly in developing strong partnerships, clear strategies, education, with a focus on diversity and inclusion.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Advocate to join our team covering Guild Lodge secure mental health inpatient hospital which provides 164 beds across different levels of security (Medium, Low and Step Down).Guild Lodge also provides a specialist provision for people living with an Acquired Brain Injury. Your role will require you to work with clients within this setting. You will be home based for administration; therefore, access to your own transportation and a suitable home internet connection is essential.
About you
Desirably you will have some experience of working in advocacy, or providing welfare, supporting, or caring for Adults or young people who have support needs, ideally for those with a variety of communication needs, mental ill health, physical health issues, or barriers to accessing education and support.
You should have worked or volunteered in health, social care, welfare, support services, education or young person’s services, or advice and guidance.

They will help develop and implement operational plans, manage a portfolio of existing donors and work to identify prospective new donors and their networks. Key Responsibilities
Donor relationship management
- Develop lasting relationships with existing donors and new prospects, building and managing a portfolio of donors giving £5,000 upwards
- With the Philanthropy Manager and Major Donor Team, devise and implement online and offline communication plans with a clear focus on securing funds for CAFOD’s core programmes
- Steward donors effectively, to ensure satisfaction and long-term commitment. Communicate, thank and report back on the work of CAFOD using donors preferred channels, ensuring the highest standards of donor care
- Ensure systematic data input and management so that key information, donor interactions and communications are appropriately recorded in line with organisational systems and processes, and in compliance with GDPR and fundraising best practice
- Work with the Philanthropy Manager, the Research and Information Team, Senior Management colleagues and Trustees to carry out donor research, identify new prospects and grow the pipeline of donors.
- As part of the team’s wider work, contribute to (and at times lead on) hosting cultivation and stewardship events – including planning event logistics; sending and tracking invitations; hosting and speaking at events; co-ordinating follow-up and completing evaluations
Contribute to Major Donor strategy, plans and income targets
