Director – Horse Rangers Association

The Horse Rangers Association (Hampton Court) (HRA) is a young people’s charity, supporting personal development by teaching the management and riding of horses.  It also works to encourage and develop young riders and vulnerable adults with special needs who participate in our Riding for the Disabled (RDA) lessons during the week.The organisation has just celebrated its 70th anniversary.  It is led by our Director, who reports to our board of trustees, and is based at the Bushy Park Stockyard.  The work with young people is delivered by a senior volunteer team mainly at weekends, supported by the Stable Manager and her staff team, with organisation and back up support by the  office team.  The charity looks after 25 horses, and teaches riding and horse husbandry, to our 300 Ranger members. 

Our Director is retiring this autumn after six successful years and we are looking to appoint his successor.  The salary is £55k - £65k, with a range of other benefits and the option of flexible hours working.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES OF JOB

Leadership

● Developing and setting future strategic direction to ensure that the charity evolves and remains both relevant and financially stable in today’s environment.
● Management of Office and Stable teams, providing leadership and support to both.
● Building strong working relationships between the Stable staff, Riding for the Disabled Volunteers, Officers, parents, donors and members of the HRA, and Trustees.
● Acts as an ambassador for the HRA organisation when organising and leading on HRA key activities and events throughout the year.
● Working to create a highly motivated team that works together to achieve shared goals, developing budgets and plans, conducting appraisals and providing coaching.
● Continuously develop and improve systems and processes undertaken by the HRA team, ensuring particularly the maximisation of membership and fundraising income.
● Ensuring the highest standard of safeguarding when working with children.

Fundraising Strategy

● Leading on the development of the HRA to achieve a long term fundraising strategy in line with the vision and values of HRA.
● Developing and implementing a clear fundraising strategy to secure ongoing funding, including identification of new areas of growth, work programme opportunities and diverse funding streams.
● Developing publicity and marketing tools (including digital) to maximise fundraising income.
● Building, maintaining, and overseeing the stewardship of key stakeholder relationships throughout the year.
● Preparing the annual fundraising plan to ensure that HRA is financially secure and able to achieve its objectives in the future.

Communications and Events Management

● Developing and implementing a communications plan to ensure publicity and marketing of fundraising activities throughout the year.
● Encouraging and actively engaging in positive cross-communications between Stable staff, Senior Volunteers, RDA Volunteers and weekend members.
● Keeping staff, members and Trustees informed of events throughout the year.
● Seeking, listening and responding to the views and ideas of staff and members.

Estate Management

● Ensuring all aspects of maintenance are managed, liaising with appropriate services.
● Developing and managing strong working relationships with key stakeholders in estate management, while reviewing the future needs of the charity including possible future sites.

Performance

● Has high performance expectations that are transferred into clear measurable targets.
● Continually monitoring performance against targets and communicating this to trustees.

About Victoria Hall Harrow

The Victoria Hall Harrow charity started in 1888, with the aim of building a high quality venue for the people of Harrow to come together and to build community. Since then our venue Victoria Hall has been rebuilt twice, most recently reopening to the public in Summer 2021. We also created a new charity some years back (a CIO), transferring the assets of the old charity over. For this reason our Charity Commission listing below is not representative of our current financial position and our assets. 

For around 140 years Victoria Hall has provided space for rent to local residents and groups. It has been used for every possible purpose - parties, events, activities, conferences and much more. 

More recently the trustee board have embarked on a renewed strategy process, and we are now relaunching the charity as a partnership-first community centre, that identifies local needs and uses our assets to best meet those needs, working with a wide range of partners to serve the local diverse communities. 

In June 2024 we agreed our new Vision and Mission. We are still now working through the overall draft of our strategy, which we will be happy to share with you as soon as it is ready in 1st draft form.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Volunteer Coordinator to join our team covering Scotland. Our Fundraising & Marketing team at The Trust are looking for someone who’s passionate about raising vital funds to become the new Philanthropy Executive focused on Mid-Level Giving (MLG), working with donors from across the UK.

Key aspects of the role include:

• Work with your manager to deliver against the supporter experience strategy for £5k - £25k donors.
• Work closely with your manager and other sub-teams, prospect research and Individual Giving to uplift donors across products to maximise giving.
• Support on research for and writing of ‘Impact Reports’ for supporters on their MLG donor journey.

Appeer is a Community Interest Company (CIC) set up to deliver services that support autistic girls and women (and those assigned female at birth) to connect with peers, to develop their life/work skills and to support their wellbeing.  We provide in person and online activity groups and programmes, alternative provision, events and resources for those in the community that we serve, their parents/carers and other professionals. We are not a therapeutic setting and as such do not offer clinical support or 1:1 supervision. Due to significant losses during the Covid pandemic, a Club appeal for donations was launched in 2020. The Friends of the RAF Club was established in 2021 to recognize these generous Members, many of whom have maintained their donations which have subsequently funded key refurbishment projects in the Club. Support of The Friends contributes significantly to the Club’s financial recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

The Director of Fundraising will be expected to deliver in 3 key areas:

DEVELOPMENT OF THE MEMBERSHIP GIVING JOURNEY

• Enhance the Friends Scheme through life giving and particularly ending with the Legacy commitment:
• Review and manage the fundraising strategy
• Retain, recruit and steward the Friends of the RAF Club
• Devise and implement a legacy strategy
• Devise and implement a series of engagement and stewardship events for the Friends of the RAF Club

CAPITAL CAMPAIGNS

• Deliver the funding to help pay for capital projects within the Club:
• In liaison with the House Committee, devise and manage the 2025 appeal campaign to fund the refurbishment of The Running Horse Tavern (the Club’s onsite ‘pub’)

DELIVERY OF ASSOCIATED ADMINISTRATION

• In compliance with the Fundraising Code, GDPR and all other associated regulations:
• Run Friends and Legacy schemes
• Timely and appropriate communication and follow-up with all relevant parties (accepting this is a part-time role)
• Event delivery for Friends events
• Manage the systems and processes to track, administer and report on donations received
• Prepare and produce fundraising marketing collateral.

The Chartered Institute for Library and Information Professionals (CILIP) is a London-based charity with a friendly, hardworking team supporting our members in the UK and internationally.

We have an excellent opportunity for a permanent Training and Partnerships Officer to make a major contribution to the success of the leading professional body for librarians and information professionals.

This is a fantastic role working with a small team supporting the planning and delivery of a sector-leading training offer, CILIP Learn.  CILIP Learn is an exciting new platform under development for CILIP’s learning and CPD offer to members and the sector.

CILIP prides itself on presenting high quality training events, often in partnership with external training providers. Training sessions are specifically designed for those working across the information, knowledge and library professions. Sessions are currently half-day, online training programmes: making them affordable and flexible to fit in around work commitments, and with the attention to detail to gain valuable skills. All our training events are delivered by experienced trainers, with specialist subject knowledge. This role directly supports the delivery of CILIP training, specifically training contracted by employers, and training delivered through partnerships.

The role

Reporting to the Director of Sector Development and working closely with the CILIP Learn Development Manager the Training and Partnerships Officer will support in the delivery of CILIPs training offer. 

The ideal candidate will have a broad experience in delivering or overseeing training delivery, online events and webinars, managing successful relationships with stakeholders and have strong IT skills.  The main responsibilities of the role include:

• To work with the Director of Sector Development and the CILIP Learn Development Manager to deliver a market-leading training offer for CILIP within CILIP Learn. To deliver and evaluate a portfolio of training events, building effective relationships with training providers.
• To support successful contract and stakeholder management related to the training partnerships and training contracts.
• To develop and maintain systems and processes which ensure that the development of the CILIP Learn offer is based on data, evidence and market intelligence.

It is not essential for the candidate to possess prior knowledge of the sector but they will have the right level of knowledge and enthusiasm to learn rapidly and bring their transferable skills to the role.

The role is 28 hours per week, ideally worked over 4 days but we are open to discussions around the working pattern for delivery of this role.

Not Beyond Redemption was established by leading Family lawyer, Camilla Baldwin, to ensure that family law advice and representation is available not just to those who could afford it, but also to those who need it most. Maintaining a healthy and supportive relationship with family while in prison is crucial to reducing reoffending rates and improving rehabilitation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Executive Support:

• Manage the Founder’s inbox, draft and send emails on their behalf, and schedule appointments.
• Arrange and coordinate meetings for the Founder with internal and external parties.

Financial Management:

• Oversee online accountancy and manage payments through the online banking platform.
• Create cashflows and budgets to forecast income and expenditure, ensuring financial stability.
• Manage the relationship with the part-time accountant/bookkeeper, overseeing the production of annual accounts and reports.
• Handle organisational memberships and subscriptions (e.g., Information Commissioner’s Office, and Living Wage Foundation).

Operations Management:

• Organise monthly clinics at different prisons, coordinating with staff at prisons and partner law firms.
• Coordinate the remote clinics, ensuring that the clinics are staffed with volunteers.
• Arrange and coordinate staff travel arrangements.
• Conduct DBS checks for employees and volunteers.

Payroll Administration:

• Set up payroll online using Xero, which automatically generates monthly payroll, pension filings, and PAYE submissions.
• Process pensions and PAYE.

Fundraising Support:

• Collaborate with the Head of Fundraising to identify Charitable Trusts and Foundations for potential applications.
• Assist in drafting funding applications and meeting with Charitable Trusts and Foundations to secure donations.
• Provide updates for funders to communicate the impact of their support.
• Keep fundraising documents updated, including the application tracker, fundraising calendar, and donations spreadsheet.
• Manage donation processes, ensuring accurate recording, acknowledgement, and stewardship of donors.

Communications and Marketing:

• Manage and curate content for the organisation’s social media platforms.
• Design compelling marketing materials to promote the organisation’s initiatives, including the annual Impact Report.
• Ensure the website is up to date.

Trustees and Board Management:

• Act as the main point of contact for the board of trustees.
• Coordinate and manage Trustees' meetings, compiling board agendas and associated paperwork.
• Prepare minutes for Trustees’ meetings.

Event Coordination:

• Plan and execute fundraising events and charity initiatives.

Purpose of the Assistant Designer role:

The Assistant Designer will support the Exhibitions and Interpretation department to develop and deliver graphic design across the Museum, working closely with the Designer. They will design both permanent and temporary exhibition graphics, as well as designing wayfinding signage for the Museum sites and supporting wider Museum departments with design requests, such as events marketing materials.

The Assistant Designer will support the delivery of the Museum’s Midlands Development Programme, developing and delivering graphic design for exhibition updates and wayfinding graphics, as well as supporting co-creation activities with local communities.
