The Business Development Team has responsibility for overseeing strategy, sustainability and growth in the markets we currently operate in nationally; and to support local Citizens Advice in their own business development.

This fixed term role will be the Business Development Strategic Lead for the Welfare market. Therefore  an understanding of the Welfare funding landscape, and the key stakeholders within this market is desirable.  It should be noted however that as the Strategic Lead role is a generic role, successful candidates may be required and have the opportunity to work in other market/BD strategic areas.

Candidates will demonstrate excellent stakeholder management skills and understanding of funding flows, bidding processes, competition, and the political environment and be driven by the desire to make the most difference to the people who come to us for help.

In this role, you will be responsible for researching and producing a targeted market strategy and account management plan, working with internal stakeholders (national and local) to ensure the organisation has a clear vision of what we want to achieve in your lead market/BD strategic area and how working collaboratively we can get there.  On a typical day, you will be working with colleagues from across the whole service to drive our BD activity, leading relevant national and local colleagues in opportunity assessment and planning, pursuit decision gating processes, account management and influencing external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be supported to undertake an APMP Foundation qualification in Proposal Management, if they do not hold already.

The role 

This important role sits within our Supply Chain and Logistics team, responsible for processing offers of surplus food from our food partners into our network of Regional Centres and the wider community. This role is essential in ensuring that the food we are offered reaches the thousands of charities and community groups we support across the UK.

The role is a combination of customer service provision and supply chain coordination with a strong data focus. You will analyse varied datasets to decide how food is distributed across our Network to ensure optimal and sustainable distribution. You will work closely with FareShare’s food suppliers, transport partners, and our Regional Centres to identify and overcome operational challenges to distribution. Main areas of responsibility

Food Industry Customer Service

• Deliver excellent customer service, ensuring offers are responded to and processed within agreed service level requirements
• Work closely with the Food Commercial Managers, providing feedback and reporting on service issues and attending meetings and site visits as appropriate
• Assist Food Team with insight and feedback from food businesses, capturing key account information in our CRM system

Regional Centre allocation

• Adhere to the requirements of the Network Service Level Agreement
• Work with the Supply Chain and Logistics Manager to match food supplied to Regional Centre needs, always working to maximise surplus redistribution and minimise waste 
• Ensure that offers are allocated in an efficient and timely manner according to network needs and agreed priorities to maximise social impact of surplus food
• Using our CRM system, maintain timely records of accounts, allocations, offers and case management
• Maintain high standards of customer service to the Network and Operations teams and develop respectful and effective working relationships with the Regional Centres.
• Build your understanding of our Network and your relationship with Regional Centres through a programme of regular site visits in collaboration with the Network Development Managers
• Work with the Network Development Managers and Food Supply & Services Managers to identify opportunities to maximise and grow redistributed food volumes

Logistics and transport

• Work with Commercial Managers and hauliers to implement best practice processes and reduce costs for FareShare whilst maximising acceptance of food
• Work with hauliers to plan transport requirements and ensure that we are able to meet network demand
• Work with Regional Centres to coordinate and plan routes for internal FareShare logistics
• Reactively solve transport issues throughout the working day

Data and analysis

• Use FareShare PowerBI reports to ensure optimal product allocation within contract requirements
• Specify, build, monitor and analyse Salesforce reports to increase efficiency of allocation
• Use dashboards to monitor network issues
• Lead regional network agreement service level review meetings
• Report on data integrity issues to the Network Analyst

Team coordination and representation

• Support the Team providing assistance and cover when required e.g. during busy periods, annual leave and sickness to ensure an even spread of work across the team

JOB PURPOSE 

About the role 

Start Network is seeking an experienced individual or consultant on a 12 month fixed-term contract to manage the first phase of our digital transformation journey. We are looking to build an innovative digital function and are offering a dedicated position to focus on key technology priorities identified. This 12-month position will lay the foundations required to ensure that Start Network is prepared for continued, sustainable technology growth.

This is a cross-cutting senior role that will oversee the delivery of the organisational digital transformation project, leading the implementation and adoption of Start Network’s  3-year digital transformation strategy and business plan. The role will lead on developing effective governance and decision making to enable Start Network to improve our use of automation, digital platforms and emerging technologies. The role is not technology specific; it will cut across a range of areas such as the development of tools automating humanitarian response processes, integration into cloud platforms, rationalising existing systems, adoption of data analytics, and visualisation, as well as looking to new technologies such as AI and Blockchain. 

The Senior Digital Transformation Lead needs to be continuously scanning an evolving landscape: implementing a framework for opportunity identification to prioritise areas for transformation; managing staff for continuous scanning of latest technology developments and assessing relevance to the organisation’s needs. 

The post-holder will have responsibility for winning sponsorship for projects, by working together with the Business Development directorate on development of proposals for projects with associated prioritisation for funding, undertaking detailed business case and ROI analysis, and agreeing critical success factors and parameters for funding. They will embrace change, adopting a practical problem-solving approach that can find a pathway from the current to target state. 

About you

To be successful in this role you will be both a technical expert and a capable project manager. You will be comfortable with leading process improvement, and adept at balancing stakeholder requirements with resource management.

You will have in-depth understanding of process, workflows and technologies associated with areas pertinent to humanitarian response, grant management, membership management, finance and resource mobilisation, cybersecurity and risk management.

Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to provide peer-led learning programmes at HMP Bristol. Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our prison based reading and numeracy programme, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. 

This role is a fixed term role until April 2025 with the opportunity to be made permanent subject to contract renewal.

The Course Tutors will have responsibility for the development and delivery of one or two modules, ensuring all material concerning the module is up to date.  The post-holders will also contribute to teaching sessions, and undertake marking and moderating of course assignments, personal tutoring and make other similar contributions to support the delivery of the programme.

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic candidates with experience in child and adolescent mental health, alongside knowledge and experience of implementing CBT-informed interventions for low to moderate intensity anxiety, low mood and behaviour problems and experience in small group facilitation.

The Role

The purpose of the direct marketing executive role is to support the charity’s prize-led fundraising activity, which currently consists of two products – the Breast Cancer Now raffle and the Pink Ribbon lottery.
