PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- This newly funded role will support the development of community network support for all members of the adoptive community in Scotland. This will be achieved through recruitment and ongoing support for volunteers creating and delivering community focused activities across the AUK Scotland adoption community.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To review existing processes and procedures and improve, develop and implement robust organisation wide policies and procedures alongside UK wide colleagues to ensure that volunteering is well-managed and supported in AUK.
- To develop volunteer led community networks across Scotland, including in the following local authority areas, Lothian, Perth and Kinross, Angus, Highland and Dumfries and Galloway.
- To manage, supervise and support new and existing volunteers in the set up and running of the community network.
- Working with the Family and Communities manager to support the development of an Adult Adoptee community network in Scotland and work alongside existing adult adoptee volunteers to support attendance at AUK advisory group meetings.
- To work in partnership with local authorities and the wider adoption community to encourage growth and development of community networks, developing new volunteer led community networks across Scotland, prioritising Lothian, Perth and Kinross, Angus, Highland and Dumfries and Galloway.
- To encourage support with community fundraising initiatives developed by the community networks and promote national opportunities across community members.
- Alongside the community team, plan, co-ordinate and realise community events throughout Scotland
- To provide administrative and communication support to the community groups, supporting good quality assurance practice across the network.

Main duties and responsibilities
- Provide line management for all operational staff including practitioners, volunteers and practice educators.
- Provide effective leadership to staff in the centre and within the region / nation, particularly through periods of change.
- Ensure that staff understand their contribution to the NSPCC strategic objectives and their role and responsibility in relation to the Directorate's delivery model of providing evidence-based services within a safeguarding context.

You will be a Mental Health Deputy Manager who is passionate about supporting MAC-UK’s objective of working collaboratively with young people, innovating services and systems and their approach to mental health, to address health and social inequalities. We are very excited to be part of a pilot service, new in England working as part of a consortium of four organisations, alongside Lambeth Council. This will be a residential support service for young people aged 16-24 years at risk of serious youth violence, who are already caught up in the criminal justice system and at high risk of remaining part of the system. You will be working across three London properties alongside a large multi-agency staff team made up of experts by experience/profession in psychology and therapy; youth work; offending; education, training, and employment (ETE) and housing. The service will work creatively and holistically to enable young people to exit environments involving youth violence, identify and reach their goals and aspirations, move on successfully to appropriate independent living, and importantly to sustain this life. Wherever possible staff and young people will co-produce what this service looks like and what activities the young people engage in.

What will you be doing?
As a Service Manager at Hft, you’ll be supporting adults with learning disabilities to live the best life possible. You will be a role model to others through demonstrating excellent support to those we support and you will help the Regional Service Managers to coach, support and manage staff teams effectively. You will be responsible for nurturing and inspiring those coming to work for Hft to help ensure we have the best staff teams offering great support services. This role also offers great opportunities for career progression to help you develop your knowledge and skills.
The purpose of the role is to assist the Regional Service Manager by holding delegated responsibility in key areas of the day-to-day running of the registered service. You will also have the responsibility to manage the performance of your team; including your team’s delivery of care and support which promotes dignity, wellbeing and independence and a person-centred culture.
Alongside the Regional Service Manager, you are responsible and accountable for monitoring, maintaining and providing the highest standards of clinical and personal support and service delivery, while promoting independence and choice to the people supported in the service.
As a senior member of the team, you will promote and lead good practice at all times, doing all you can to make sure that the people we support and their colleagues come to no harm and that the people we support are satisfied with the level of support they receive by acting as an exemplary role model.
As a Service Manager, flexibility is important for both you and for the service. We provide 24/7 support to some people, so you will need to have flexibility to take your turn on the on call rota. In emergencies you may need to go into the service, including at nights, weekends or a bank holiday.
A full UK driving licence, with access to your own vehicle, is essential for the role.
About you
- You will have experience supporting adults with complex learning disabilities.
- You need good IT skills and experience of maintaining records to be a success in this role.
- You will have knowledge of CQC regulations
- You need to hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care (or acceptable equivalent) OR have the ability to achieve this within 18 months of appointment.
- You will have detailed knowledge of Health and Safety issues, and Safeguarding regulations

Main Responsibilities:
· Provide operational management of all Short Break clubs contracts across East Surrey and West Sussex
· Lead assessment and approval of CYP behavioural support plans and complex need support to ensure safe and inclusive practices within our Short Break Schemes.
· Monitor annual Short Breaks area delivery plans to ensure delivery requirements of our contracted services are met.
· Monitor short breaks budgets, including donations and grants.
· Assist with the recruitment of staff and securing opportunities to attract staff from local communities.
· On-boarding of new disability sessional staff including induction, role specific training, and on-going development to increase workforce retention.
· Work with the Volunteer Coordinator to expand the use of volunteers across Disability Services.
· To provide line management for a team of Disability Short Breaks Coordinators.
· Lead Short Break sessions and provide cover for Coordinators where needed.
· Ensure the meaningful participation of children and young people in the planning, design, delivery and evaluation of short break services.
· Collection of views and feedback from families to enhance and imbed into future service offer.
· To work with the YMCA Marketing Manager to ensure that short break services are marketed effectively and to oversee the production of publicity materials and the use of advertising, promotions, web site and social media.
· Liaise with local partners, stakeholders and statutory sector to enhance the coherence, range, reach and quality of services for CYP with disabilities.
· Attend and participate in relevant internal/external meetings and forums related to the CYP services.
· To represent the YMCA at external events and to deliver presentations.
· Act as Duty Officer for Sovereign Centre where required.
· To support and promote all services which run from the centre as required.
· Prepare reports and statistical data reports as requested by the DS Manager.
· Attend staff meetings, training and staff development events, as appropriate, to ensure continuous professional competence and development.
· Operate in accordance with YMCA East Surrey policies and procedures for health and safety, equality diversity and inclusion, risk assessment and safeguarding children and young people to provide safe and healthy working environment.
· Contribute to the development and production of Children and Young People policies, plans and procedures.
· Supporting the wider work of the Association including charity events.
· Any other duties are required to be performed within the grade and renumeration of the role.

About The Role
Your key role will be to deliver with the local community NBS interventions that build resilience to flooding, provide space for wetland wildlife and improve health and well-being of citizens. You'll manage the tendering and planning process, as well as contractors; ensuring high quality and innovative interventions are created and effectively communicate messages about climate change and nature-based solutions to citizens, partners and stakeholders.
This is an exciting, innovative approach to climate change adaptation at street and neighbourhood level. It places local residents at the heart of decision-making, design and delivery of interventions that help keep them safe from floods, droughts, heat stress and create more natural places too.
This is a fixed term contract until 31st March 2027, 37.5 hours per week working 5 days in 7.
This role is suitable for hybrid working with the expectation that the successful candidate will spend up to half the working week on site with options for working from home or in office accommodation as appropriate.

About the role
Sightsavers are currently seeking an experience Finance and Support Services Manager (FSSM) to join the Country Officer Senior Management Team to oversee and supervise the development, co-ordination and management of Sightsavers finance and support services in our Guinea office.
The FSSM will be responsible for a number of specified areas of the overall finance and support services function, through close collaboration with colleagues, partners and others, and will identify areas for growth and improvement.
The FSSM duties include:
