As a charity, we advocate for the key role of statistics and data in society and work to ensure that policy formulation and decision-making are informed by evidence for the public good. Members work with RSS staff to support areas such as policy development, education, training, statistical communication, and statistical literacy.
The Director of Professional Services is responsible for our professional affairs activities, overseeing the creation, maintenance and application of relevant standards through our professional affairs committee, and certification and accreditation schemes. They are also responsible for member recruitment and management, ensuring we continue to attract new RSS members and partners, and that their needs are met. They also oversee a range of activities that engage RSS members (including groups that bring members together on a topic or geographical basis, RSS honours and awards, and our volunteering opportunities), securing both our impact on society and member retention.
Informed by an in-depth understanding of the needs of members and prospective members, the Director manages these activities strategically across the organisation, bringing relevant staff together within small teams working on defined goals that support our objectives, foster a sense of value and community for all members and ultimately lead to the growth in membership and impact of the Society.
Pension and benefits: Our defined contribution pension scheme can be joined after three months in post. Your contributions of up to 8% of salary will be double matched by the Society (making a maximum contribution by the Society of 16%). Location: The RSS office is in central London and currently open twice a week. We offer flexible working arrangements and office attendance is encouraged but not mandatory depending on the role. The Movement Collaboration Lead or Senior Movement Collaboration Lead (depending on experience) will work closely with the Programme Director and the Programme Team to lead the development and delivery of an exciting emerging programme of work building collaboration for economic system change between grassroots groups and new economy organisations.
We are looking for people who are: passionate about addressing economic injustice, are excited about the role of collaboration in creating systems change and capable of creating partnerships and strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
The first twelve months of this programme will take an action inquiry approach to facilitate a mixed group of new economy organisations and grassroots groups through a collaborative process that will develop shared knowledge and practice about how we can effectively and equitably collaborate on economic systems change work through practical experiments, facilitated dialogue and collaborative research.
The role will involve responsibilities for project managing and delivering this work including programme development and delivery, developing partnerships, changemaker recruitment and support, conducting desk research and interviews, managing and running events, supporting project related fundraising, conducting project learning and evaluation and writing a learning report about the project.
Following this first year we plan to scale work on supporting collaboration between grassroots groups and new economy organisations, subject to funding we hope this could become a permanent role.

Project Development
- Working closely with the Programme Director and the Programme Team, lead the translation of existing strategic thinking, planning and relationship building into a project plan.
- Working closely with the Programme Director and the Programme Team, contribute to business planning and fundraising for future development of the action inquiry beyond the first year.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As Philanthropic Programs Director, you will lead and keep developing AIM's Impactful Grantmaking training program and oversee our five funding circles. Your primary responsibility will be outreach, program facilitation, and hands-on philanthropic advising for the twice-annual 9-week cohorts of funders giving over $1M annually.
This is a fairly senior position with high stakes, a lot of potential for development, and outstandingly high potential for impact, and thus best suited to an individual with at a minimum 3-5 years of experience and some deep prior expertise in the philanthropic sector.
You will work closely with the Philanthropic Programs Manager in a two-person program team. You will decide collaboratively at the start of your tenure how to divide and/or share responsibilities in the categories below, as well as how to take care of operations and ad hoc tasks and projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a great opportunity to join the UK Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF UK) as our Head of International Policy and Advocacy. This unique role will lead a talented team of experts focused across a range of issues from UK development policy & finance, climate change, health, education, and nutrition. You will lead the team in developing compelling policy analysis and set the strategic direction for our advocacy on these areas.
You will represent the organisation externally, including by managing key relationships with UK Government departments, in the media, and with partners and coalitions. You will have:
· Demonstrable experience of leading and managing a high performing team.
· Detailed understanding of core international policy issues, processes and frameworks.
· A robust understanding of the UK Government’s role in ensuring children’s rights are upheld and protected around the world.

We are gradually moving back to our offices on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, East London and we anticipate most colleagues will work one or two days a week in the office and the rest of the time from home. We will happily discuss other flexible options to suit your circumstances.
