About the role:

We are excited to be taking the lead in the London Whole Housing Service Partnership (LWHSP) which will address and enhance the pathways of housing support for women experiencing domestic abuse, from removing them from immediate harm, to enabling recovery and resettlement across all levels of need. The LWHSP are seeking to build on our delivery across 11 East and West London boroughs of the Whole Housing Approach (WHA).

The Housing IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process. You will specialise in working with clients for whom housing, and risk of tenancy breakdown is a factor. You will work within the team to make proactive contact and provide high quality advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women, focusing on working with those aged 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. You will hold a caseload of survivors and will also be required to work as part of Advance’s duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support.

About You:

As a Housing IDVA, you will need to have a degree of flexibility for colocation work across London boroughs; providing support to women who have experienced domestic violence, focusing on individuals with housing or tenancy issues. Working in our fast-paced crisis intervention, advocacy and support service, you’ll ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process. You will have your own caseload of survivors and will focus on working with those aged 18 and over who access our domestic abuse service. 

You will bring experience in providing independent domestic violence advocacy and support for women who approach housing advice and assessment for help. Ideally experience in working with housing service providers, and advising women of their rights and options for seeking help and support from other agencies. You will have the ability to develop individual safety and support plans in-line with the clients’ needs and the risks they face.

Do you want to join an organisation committed to addressing illiteracy amongst people in prison?

Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to provide peer-led literacy and numeracy programmes across a number of prisons. To ensure the continuation of our programmes during times of staff absence, we are now seeking to recruit a Prison Facilitator on a bank working basis to work across the North region. Working closely with prisons and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will support with the delivery and development of our literacy and numeracy programme in the North region, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships quickly and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. You will also have a willingness to travel, sometimes at short notice, to provide short or long term cover within the region including some overnight stays.

This role will be prison-based. This is a bank role and so the number of days to be worked will vary and are not guaranteed.

Engagement Lead Health Inequity

This is an exciting opportunity to work with those affected by stroke and those working in stroke, to focus on the health inequity that stroke survivors experience. We are looking for an innovative, passionate and professional individual with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to join our leadership team in the South West – specifically Bath & North East Somerset.

The Role

The project has recently been through the research and design phase and is now ready to implement a number of tests to address health inequities experienced by Stroke survivors following their stroke. The project exploration and design has taken a collaborative approach with our NHS colleagues, the Engagement Lead will continue with this approach.

Reporting to the Associate Director for the South West & Channel Islands, the Engagement Lead will:

· Lead and oversee the project tests, measuring the impact with an ability to adapt and flex as the project develops.

· Have responsibility for developing the project with a test and learn approach.

· Hold themselves and those involved to agreed timescales & actions.

Due to significant losses during the Covid pandemic, a Club appeal for donations was launched in 2020. The Friends of the RAF Club was established in 2021 to recognize these generous Members, many of whom have maintained their donations which have subsequently funded key refurbishment projects in the Club. Support of The Friends contributes significantly to the Club’s financial recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

The Director of Fundraising will be expected to deliver in 3 key areas:

DEVELOPMENT OF THE MEMBERSHIP GIVING JOURNEY

• Enhance the Friends Scheme through life giving and particularly ending with the Legacy commitment:
• Review and manage the fundraising strategy
• Retain, recruit and steward the Friends of the RAF Club
• Devise and implement a legacy strategy
• Devise and implement a series of engagement and stewardship events for the Friends of the RAF Club

CAPITAL CAMPAIGNS

• Deliver the funding to help pay for capital projects within the Club:
• In liaison with the House Committee, devise and manage the 2025 appeal campaign to fund the refurbishment of The Running Horse Tavern (the Club’s onsite ‘pub’)

• Prepare all papers and minutes for the Fundraising and Legacy Committee (FR&LC), actioning all fundraising initiatives
• Prepare FR&LC reports for the Board of Trustees
• Promote and acknowledge the ‘Hive Heroes’ supporting the Club bees
• Administer and acknowledge donations to the Staff Christmas appeal
• Manage requests for Club support from external charities and partnerships[1]

Priorities (KPI) for Delivery in 2024/25:

• Priority 1 - Friends Scheme - ensure lines of communication are kept open for all Friends (Gold, Silver and Bronze) - focusing effort to personally engage and get to know Gold and Silver Friends. Increase membership at all 3 levels. Devise and deliver (how many?) Events for Friends.
• Priority 2 - Capital Project - 'Running Horse Tavern refurbishment'. Supported lead to devise and deliver fundraising from potential donors. Minimum target: £100,000 (check this amount is right)
• Priority 3 - Membership Giving Journey - Development and implementation of a membership giving journey, with particular emphasis on delivery of a Legacy Programme.
• Achieve the existing fundraising target of £120,000 in calendar year 2024 (currently ahead of target).

The Lessons from Auschwitz (LFA) Project is a course for students in post-16 education delivered throughout the UK. The project has taken over 42,000 students and teachers to the former Nazi concentration and death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau. The project aims to increase knowledge and comprehension of the Holocaust and to signal what can happen if prejudice and racism become acceptable. Students then pass on the lessons they have learned to their community. The project has been described as ‘life changing’ and can leave an unforgettable emotional and educational mark on participants.

As a Project Coordinator you would run specific courses and have ownership over their administration from start to finish. You would also be given an area of focus such as marketing, logistics, or support. In your first 6 months, you’ll:

Coordinate Projects by:

1. Managing the administration for the educational courses within your remit by:

• Processing applications, registering schools on the project, and monitoring uptake from schools.

• Data management and chasing schools for missing information.

• Organising mass-mailings, email broadcasts and digital marketing including social media to provide course participants with necessary information and updates.

• Overseeing course logistics, including generating reports, booking staff and external colleagues' travel and accommodation, compiling course information packs, and booking medics.

We are hiring! We have a job vacancy for a Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) / Dementia Coordinator.

Shine has a membership of over 13,500 members living with SpinaBifida and/or Hydrocephalus and associated conditions and over 6,000 associated members.

In the last year we have seen a 25% increase in members who are living with NPH across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. There are currently just under 600 members with NPH, plus their carers registered, but we are expecting this to continue to rise as awareness and diagnosis of the condition grows.

We are looking for an experienced, skilled, organised and dedicated new staff member to join Shine’s Services team to develop and lead our new NPH service.

Job title: Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH)/ Dementia Coordinator

Purpose of Job 

To provide the foundations for improved health, social and emotional outcomes for adults living with NPH and to support their families/carers.

To focus primarily on delivering 3 of Shine’s 7 Strategic Goals all of which drive Shine’s ambitions:

·  Goal 3: Adults of all ages with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus have the choices and opportunities to live healthy and independent lives

· Goal 4: A connected community

Staff management:

1. Shine is committed to providing quality advice and support. As service lead you will provide supervision, training, guidance and support in line with Shine’s HR processes and procedures to other members of staff who are involved in the delivery of work for the NPH service.

Project management:

1. Evaluate existing support for members living with NPH and their families/ carers within Shine

2. Develop and grow the service based on the needs and voice of our members

3. Lead the support of members living with NPH and their families/ carers across England, Wales & Northern Ireland

4. Develop annual work plans, which will enable continued development and delivery of the NPH service

5. Create a framework for the service and develop Shine colleagues to support delivery in key areas

6. To provide training to upskill colleagues in dementia

7. Create greater consistency across all Nations by developing strong working relationships with key colleagues in England, Wales and Northern Ireland

8. Drive collaborative working with the National Programmes and Engagement Manager and the National roles – particularly Health and Benefits

9. To manage any specific project budgets, ensuring spend is planned, within budget and allocated to the appropriate cost centre 

10.  Maintain an oversight on data capture and data management for the work on NPH, alongside the Director of Services develop outcome measures to demonstrate impact

12.  Identify new potential sources of funding as the project develops and contribute to funding bids as requested. 

13.  Working with colleagues in Services, Fundraising, Marketing, Trust and Foundations colleagues and Shine’s membership to identify opportunities for long-term sustainability of the work.

To manage all enquiries from our members living with NPH and their carers, providing direct one to one support and advice including-

·  Welfare benefit/ income maximisation advice

·  Condition specific support to enable the person living with NPH to have choice and control over their current and future care needs.

·  Signposting /referring to more specialist information and support, internally or to other local, regional or national organisations 

You will also:

· In collaboration with Shine’s National Programmes & Membership Engagement Manager, Health and Services colleagues and external partners, lead the delivery of the NPH awareness week once a year

· Review existing and develop new resources for members with NPH alongside the Health team

· Develop and deliver an annual programme of events and peer support groups for members with NPH and their families and carers

· Oversee social media, Facebook and WhatsApp support groups

· Organise steering groups, providing opportunities for Shine members to guide the development of the service, and engage in consultations and research

· Develop partnership opportunities and closer working relationships with health professionals, statutory organisations and charities

· Identify key campaigns to improve the rights of members with NPH, improving access to statutory services, access to NHS care, awareness regarding diagnosis and treatment.

THE ROLE

The Fundraising Officer/s will be responsible for planning, co-ordinating, and executing all fundraising activities and initiatives. The role requires the development and implementation of strategies to maximise donations and enhance donor relationships, in alignment with Islamic Help’s fundraising strategy. This position involves engaging with individual donors, businesses, and community partners to secure financial support for Islamic Help’s life-saving projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

In collaboration with the Fundraising Manager/Head of Fundraising, to identify specific programmes and funding priorities, and organise targeted fundraising campaigns.

• Monitor donor funding trends and priorities and communicate this information to the Fundraising Manager/Head of Fundraising to ensure alignment with Islamic Help’s objectives.
• Plan and co-ordinate fundraising campaigns, events, and initiatives such as tours, treks, lectures, and dinners.
• Recruit, engage, and train volunteers to support fundraising activities and events.
• Track, monitor, and process pledges made by colleagues at events, ensuring records are regularly updated.
• Monitor online donations and activities, maintaining up-to-date records and ensuring relevant departments and donors are informed.
• Create promotional materials to support fundraising activities, including merchandise, banners, and other marketing collateral.
• Identify local, national, and international funding opportunities, and contribute to the development of Islamic Help’s fundraising strategy.
• Manage fundraising income by maintaining reports, tracking donations, and handling donor correspondence, and evaluate the success of fundraising activities.
• Identify partnership opportunities locally, nationally, and internationally for joint fundraising campaigns, aiming to expand Islamic Help’s capabilities in skills, expertise, and donor base.
