Job title: Patient Support & Advocacy Officer

Location: Based at home, situated across the Liverpool & Wirral region with regular travel to assigned renal units.
Hours: Full time hours, 35 hour per week. Must be sufficiently flexible to work irregular hours as demanded by the requirements of the post.

An opportunity to provide practical, emotional, and financial support for anyone affected by chronic kidney disease. You will engage with kidney patients, their families, and carers as a source of information, support, and advocacy, in order to improve care and wellbeing outcomes for patients.
This may be in the hospital or other care setting, on the phone, online or face-to-face in a mutually acceptable public place.
The role will cover the main renal units and satellite dialysis units across your designated area in Liverpool and Wirral. Frequent travel and attendance is expected at some sites.
Responsibilities
• With support, establish the Kidney Care UK Patient Support & Advocacy Service in the region so patients, their families, carers and professionals to access independent support on social, financial, health advocacy and wellbeing
• Be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the Patient Support & Advocacy Service across the region and the effective management of a caseload. This involves regular attendance at renal clinics in the region, building relationships with health and care professionals and being available for patients in the renal unit, on the phone or online, or to meet at a mutually convenient public location
• To support patients to build the skills and confidence needed to positively navigate the challenges presented by health, social care, benefits, and financial support pathways, and to overcome barriers and promote independence
• To support patients to connect with services to ensure that they are engaged in shared decision making and that their voice is central to shaping the care and support they receive
• To raise awareness of Kidney Care UK and the benefits of the Patient Support & Advocacy Service amongst kidney patients, their families, carers, and professionals across the region

We are seeking a Domestic Abuse/Sexual violence Practitioner with an emphasis on wellbeing to join our Advocacy team as we continue through the third year of our three-year strategy for 2022-25.
This role requires working in partnership with other London domestic abuse support services, to provide pro-active emotional, practical and advocacy support for autistic adults and adults with learning disabilities, with complex or multiple needs who have experienced any form of domestic abuse/sexual violence.
The role will focus on emotional support to move forward after traumatic and harmful experiences, operating alongside the ISVA Service Manager and Senior ISVA you will be required to devise a programme of wellbeing activities to address other ways to enhance their resilience and wellbeing - working across London to provide non-judgmental, trauma-informed emotional support.
Our ideal candidate will have a friendly and relational approach to working with clients. You will have the ability to build trusting relationships, work in an empowering and inclusive way and support clients to heal following sexual abuse and develop coping capacity. You will be a self-motivated individual who will engage with a wider range of people who have experience sexual violence, and other barriers to justice.

The role
A hugely exciting opportunity has become available to join the Football Foundation as our Community Engagement Lead. This position plays a crucial role in the Foundation achieving its objectives of increasing physical activity levels amongst priority groups facing the greatest inequalities and ensuring great community engagement is championed and embedded across our processes and programmes.
Working with our Funding Partners and key stakeholders at a national level, the postholder will provide strategic leadership to the delivery of the Foundations innovative PlayZones Programme, oversee delivery of our Sport England National Lottery funded Active Through Football programme and lead, manage, mentor, and support a team of Community Engagement Officers & Programme Manager to create a high-performance environment, which allows team members to thrive.
Following recent changes, the Community Engagement Lead and reports are positioned within the Foundations Delivery Team, each with a regional responsibility aligned to the teams regional structure. The postholder will work dynamically with colleagues across the Foundation as well as externally with a range of partner including funding partner organisations, the Active Partnerships, and other National Governing Bodies to continually shape and refine our approaches based on learning, research, and insight.
This role will be challenging, but the post holder has the opportunity to influence change throughout the Foundation’s processes and ensure meaningful community engagement is undertaken by our applicants.
What are we looking for?

What can we offer you?
The salary band for this role is £48,000 – £55,000 per annum, dependent on relevant skills and experience.

We are delighted to be recruiting for our next Director of Services, who'll manage our adult, family and youth services, supporting ADHD and Autistic people in NW London, their families, and the professionals who work with them. As a trusted member of our senior leadership team you will be driving impact for the more than 4,000 people we work with each year by:

- acting as the designated safeguarding lead

The role will be based in our office in Eastcote for 3 days per week, with the possibility for home working for the remainder of the time.

Job Summary
CAAS provide an ADHD and Autism Support Service for the 8 boroughs of NW London, from our base in Eastcote, with a team of Support Workers. Our work includes offering information, advice, and support to ADHD / autistic people, their families, and professionals in NW London, with the aim of improving quality of life and developing neurodiverse-aware communities. Some of the support is offered through one2one meetings, some of the support is provided through groups and courses which aim to increase understanding and awareness, and provide opportunities for peer support, and some of the support is offered through training and workshops to educate professionals and drive for accommodations to be made to services to allow greater access for our client group.
As Director of Services, you will work closely with the CEO, leading on the management of the Adult Services, Youth Services and Family Services workstreams within the charity, ensuring the high quality service provision for which we are known. The role sits within the senior leadership team at CAAS, alongside the Finance Director, and manages the Youth Services Manager, the Family Services Manager and the Adult Services Manager, who in turn manage around 20 staff between them.
The Director of Services provides a crucial role in ensuring the infrastructure and operational workings of the charity are effective for the more than 30 staff we employ, and the more than 11,000 instances of support we provide each year. Therefore, we are looking for a capable, calm, self-motivated, organised and hard-working Services professional who has worked in a management role directly responsible for service delivery in another charity.
The role requires strong organisation skills, excellent communication and relationship building skills, significant experience of operational service delivery, team leadership experience, the ability to articulate and drive our impact, and a good understanding of fundraising and monitoring requirements in a medium sized charity. Ultimately you will have the drive to ensure that everyone who works for us, and everyone who seeks support from us, has the best possible experience.
There is no requirement for any experience of delivering services that support ADHD / autistic individuals, as we will provide training, but it would be helpful to have a good understanding of the conditions, and the strengths and challenges they may bring. A genuine acceptance of diversity and a keenness to make an impact are essential.
Key Responsibilities – Strategic and Organisational
· To lead in the development and implementation of CAAS strategy in our work with service users, ensuring that all our services have a thoughtful strategic underpinning, and a measurable and significant positive impact for our clients. Represent the needs of our clients in strategic and planning decisions.
· To work with the CEO to understand the organisational risks facing the charity within the service provision it provides, and to develop and implement the necessary mitigations
· To be the designated safeguarding lead in the charity and ensure our safeguarding procedures, practices and policies are fit for purpose.

· To work collaboratively with the CEO to develop and deliver clear methods of measuring the impact of services, and an appropriate Theory of Change model for our work, and use this information to continuously improve and articulate our service development.
· To develop and monitor a framework of key performance indicator targets and standards, to ensure all service managers are able to effectively appraise and improve where appropriate the service standards within their division.
· Evaluate the operational dashboards and reporting mechanisms to ensure trends are quickly identified and necessary changes put in place.

As a Philanthropy Executive, you will work closely with the Philanthropy Manager supporting the development of a proactive and sustainable major donor programme. Your role will involve the relationship management of a portfolio of major donors and prospects; ensuring the donors you work with are engaged with our cause, and that you are responding to their individual stewardship needs as you keep them updated with our work.
Your responsibilities will include supporting the Philanthropy Manager in making strategic decisions to grow our major donor programme: providing insight from the excellent relationships you will manage, identifying opportunities and securing significant contributions ranging from four to six figures.
You will develop and use stewardship tools to guide donors through their giving journey, including cultivation plans, proposals, and reports. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work with colleagues and volunteers across the organisation to support our fundraising efforts.

What are we looking for?

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Programme Coordination and Project Delivery
- To work closely with the Director of Strategy and Programmes to coordinate and support the delivery of all our programmes to achieve the outputs and outcomes agreed with our funders.

As one of our Grants & Services Officers, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that grant applications are processed efficiently and applicants are dealt with holistically, compassionately and professionally.
As we help record numbers of people, the successful candidate will be required to:
Deal with applicant enquiries
- Ensure a pleasant, helpful and empathetic welcome to applicants who contact the Charity by email, web form, grant application or telephone.
- Provide guidance to applicants in relation to the Charity’s grants criteria, services and process, ensuring they understand how to apply and that their request fits within our criteria.
- Identify any potential safeguarding concerns at an early stage, escalating appropriately
Process applications and referrals to services in a timely manner
- Verify that applicants are eligible beneficiaries and meet the Charity’s criteria.
- Prioritise any applications with particularly urgent requests
- Check that each application is complete and follow up with applicants as required to ensure all information and supporting documents have been submitted.
Provide guidance and information to applicants
- Provide clear guidance to applicants throughout the application process.
- Inform applicants of other potential sources of help and support
- Respond to applicant queries quickly and accurately throughout the application process.
Recommend appropriate grant decisions
- Prepare objective, non-judgemental reports for each case, with appropriate, clear recommendations in line with the grants policy.
- Consider if cases should be referred to Senior Management or Trustees, in line with the existing Grant Making Policy.
To be considered for this position with great scope for growth and development potential, applicants should demonstrate:
- Previous experience within a grant-making role or proven knowledge of the grant-making / benevolent sector.
- Proven experience of providing help and guidance, predominately over the phone and via email, offering support to applicants throughout the grant making process, and other sources of potential help.
- Previous experience of using databases / CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce).
- Ability to interpret grant criteria effectively and make clear decisions.

The Role
This is an exciting role within a critical area of FILE, building our evidence base on impact and using it to support learning with a range of stakeholders. The Impact & Learning team at FILE is responsible for generating evidence and learning, enabling FILE and its partners to be as impactful as possible.
As a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Specialist, you will be part of a small and integrated team providing support across a broad portfolio of work.
This involves collating and analysing data, creating and facilitating learning processes within FILE and with our funded partners, and ensuring evidence and insights are fed back into our strategies and those of our partners.
This team works closely with all functions across the wider organisation.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will perform tasks related to the collection and analysis of data as well as learning from evidence regarding FILE’s activities. This position will primarily focus on supporting four key areas:
- Monitoring: enabling and supporting the collection of robust and consistent data from partners to support their progress towards impact
- Data management: partner data collation and verification from different data sources
- Donor and Board reporting: preparation and presentation of data and evidence for our donors and board to demonstrate our progress towards impact
- Learning: enable learning at all levels of the organisation through designing and delivering learning processes with FILE staff and partners
To achieve this, you will:
- Support our portfolio and grants team in monitoring and reviewing grant documentation in line with FILE’s results framework including providing grant assessments.
- Review and verify partner reports, providing summaries for internal portfolio, executive teams and FILE’s auditing.
- Monitor progress of individual grants and portfolios including data extraction in line with FILE’s Results Framework and Case Database
- Maintain and refine as required, data collection and management tools including partner reporting templates in collaboration with our grant management team.
- Summarise relevant data for inclusion in our 6 monthly donor reports and quarterly updates for our Board and Senior Leadership Team.
- Support our Impact and Learning Manager to coordinate strategic inputs from portfolio teams relating to progress and results for inclusion in donor reports.
- Support our Impact and Learning Manager with the development and facilitation of webinars and learning sessions for FILE’s key audiences.
- Prepare and share relevant data in a compelling format bi-annual learning processes with FILE portfolio teams.
- Support our Impact and Learning Manager with the creation of new templates and methods for showcasing impact and results across a wide range of audiences.
About you

- Understanding of and interest in climate mitigation & adaptation, biodiversity or other environmental issues
- Proven experience of applying monitoring, evaluation and learning or research approaches within an organisation
- Experience and interest in building equitable relationships and partnerships and a confident collaborator, able to work with people across the organisation and with external partners
- Facilitation skills – in person and online, including designing sessions and processes which focus on learning outcomes for participants
- Experience of collecting qualitative and quantitative data using different tools and templates including desktop research and semi-structured interview
- Data visualisation skills using different platforms and tools to clearly and compellingly communicate data
- Good quantitative data management and analysis skills including use of MS databases (Excel, Access) or other similar tools
- Competent in translating technical information into reports or knowledge products for different audiences
- Well-developed project management skills
- Philanthropic experience an advantage but not a requirement

This is a remote working role, with occasional travel within the UK as required. You will need to be self-motivated, well organised and able to work independently, as part of a virtual team, and under pressure to meet challenging deadlines.
