Reporting directly to the Controller (Chief Executive) and as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, when required, the Associate Director of Strategy and Impact will have the responsibility to lead and manage the Research and Evaluation, Applications Development and Business Intelligence teams to ensure the Fund is a research led and enabled organisation. The role will require strong leadership to ensure all these facets continue to deliver innovative ways to support the Fund’s strategy and ambitions.

We are seeking someone with good attention to detail, the ability to prioritise and have a strong work ethic.  You will also be able to understand and analyse complex business concepts and engage with the Fund to proactively support the delivery of strategic objectives.  Being a good team player and having excellent written & verbal communication skills is crucial. 

You will be able to build and develop various methods to influence and promote insights, including your experience in applying research and/or data to develop organisational change in order to help the Fund remain relative, competitive, and sustainable. In addition, you will bring your experience of dealing with complex problems and your proven ability to deliver change to this role. 

The role is based in the London office, with the expectation to work a minimum of three days in the office. The successful candidate for this role will need to prove they have the right to work in the UK.

Job Purpose

To act as a key link between the Finance and Fundraising to ensure that all fundraising income is accounted for correctly and in a timely manner. You will report into the Financial Controller and work together as part of the Finance Team. You will liaise predominately with the Fundraising Team alongside other stakeholders across The Children’s Trust.

Manage and account for Fundraising income

• Responsible for processing and coding incoming donations between the bank accounts, ledgers and the CRM system, ensuring that entries are up-to date, accurate and posted in a timely manner.
• Responsible for banking of cash and cheques daily at the Post Office and the bank.
• Responsible for processing Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) vouchers, credit card receipts and other charitable donation vouchers.
• Use the CRM system to identify the source and coding of donations.
• Work closely with the Supporter Care team and other teams to resolve queries.
• Responsible for restricted income, reconciling with Fundraising to ensure donations are allocated correctly.
• Ensure that collection box income is collected and reconciled.
• Issue, amend and cancel Fundraising invoices and ensure payment is received promptly.
• Process and reconcile World Pay, Just Giving and other forms of electronic giving receipts accordingly. Provide Fundraising with relevant reports.
• Reconcile shops weekly income to the till system reports.
• Obtain and process reports from PayPal in relation to goods purchased via the website.
• Manage PDQ and banking terminals / platforms.

Month end procedures

• Month end fundraising processes including accruing income and processing bought in goods journals.
• Retail journals including income and shops rent and rates expense release.
• Reconcile Restricted Funds, ensuring that each restricted donation is allocated to the correct Fundraising code.
• Reconcile Fundraising and Retail Gift aid.
• Work with Fundraising to chase unpaid invoices

Other general duties

• Lead with the Fundraising / ThankQ systems integration.
• Responsible for maintaining the Finance Fundraising SharePoint site.
• Manage Fundraising relationships ensuring relevant support is provided to meet all departments objectives.
• Raise ad hoc other income invoices and receipts such as rentals, events and student placements.
• Continually look to review and improve processes working with Fundraising and other stakeholders.
• Assist with the year-end stock-take and to ensure that the stock remaining, and stock sold reconcile for each shop.
• Assist with the annual audit.
• Arrange banking of foreign and mutilated currency.
• Provide ad hoc assistance to the rest of the Finance Team.

The Research Officer will join our Applied Research and Evaluation division to contribute to work and projects of the Child Outcomes Research Consortium (CORC). About the Organisation

Together We Learn is a small international development charity with a vision to break the cycle of poverty in Ethiopia by enabling disadvantaged children to access quality education.

We have been working closely with our Ethiopian partner organisation for over 25 years to achieve this. Our UK team is a small, close- knit team that supports the fundraising, international communications, and project delivery of the Ethiopian team.

Our approach is to work alongside state education infrastructure, addressing a range of needs related to access to and quality of education, as well as children’s wellbeing.

Our work with schools includes school infrastructure projects - providing safe, local schools - and supporting teachers with training and resources to inspire children to flourish in the classroom. We also work closely with the children, their families and communities to understand and address the issues they face at home and how these impact their ability to attend and concentrate in school.

We are at the start of a new strategic phase with a focus on building the capacity of our Ethiopian partner organisation to shift the power and be more locally-led in our work.

Sponsorship Coordinator

The Role: The Sponsorship Coordinator works closely with the Ethiopian team to facilitate sponsor communications and support the smooth delivery of our student sponsorship programme. They are responsible for reviewing and sending student updates collected by the team in Ethiopia to our international sponsor community; liaising with the Ethiopian team to deliver key sponsorship activities; and engaging new and existing sponsors in the sponsorship programme.

Reports to: Chief Executive
Hours: 15 hours per week (part-time role 40%)
Salary: £8,620 per annum (21,548 pro rata)
Location: London office, preference for hybrid working, remote applications considered, employee must be living in the UK.

Responsibilities

Ethiopia team liaison and sponsor communication (70%)

• Work closely with the Sponsorship Manager and Coordinators in Ethiopia to ensure the timely and effective delivery of sponsorship activities and reporting.
• Maintain good relationships with sponsors by responding to sponsor enquiries in a prompt and friendly manner and encourage continued support for the sponsorship programme through the provision of engaging, informative and culturally aware/sensitive student updates and newsletters.
• Manage a small pool of student volunteers to produce quality reports for sponsors.
• Facilitate additional monetary gifts from sponsors to their sponsored student including individual gifts, private school support and home improvement.
• Monitor sponsorship finances, including use of Salesforce, checking sponsorship payments are received and seeking to resolve any finance problems.
• Safeguard the data relating to sponsors and beneficiaries in line with the organisation’s policies.
• Assist in the promotion of the programme to recruit new sponsors and promote the sponsorship programme on occasion, through online initiatives or attending events.

Monitoring and evaluation (20%)

• Support monitoring and evaluation of the programme by ensuring the timely collection of data by the team in Ethiopia, collating, analysing and formatting data for review, leading discussions on impact review and supporting discussions for continuous programme development. Including managing office volunteers to support our work in these areas.
• Support the Ethiopian team to track and understand markers of good quality, sustainable programming and to continuously improve upon these.

Other (10%)

• Support with building the capacity of the Ethiopian team through working practices and training in relevant areas.
• Support the Ethiopia sponsorship team to develop, include and adhere to programme policies and procedures, with special attention to safeguarding.
• Communicate about our work with stakeholders via writing blogs, newsletter and Annual Report chapters.

The Finance & Administration Assistant is a newly created role that will provide various parts of the organisation with administrative support, as well as some receptionist duties. Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Administrative tasks

• Manage external communications through post, telephone and email, ensuring information is redirected to the relevant person to be dealt with efficiently and effectively.

• Collect and check monthly debit card and credit card reports with all necessary Purchase Invoices and PO’s from the card holders.
•  Assist the Finance Officer in processing expenditure: checking Purchase Invoices against PO’s, ensuring that all authorisations are in place, and posting expenditure on the QuickBooks database.
• Assist the Senior Finance Officer in sending out statements to overdue Debtors from QuickBooks.

Fundraising related tasks

• Process donation payments received via cheque, cash or PayPal and similar platforms onto the Beacon database.
•  Assist the Fundraising Manager in keeping the Beacon database up to date with donations/grants received, gift aid eligibility and forms, and grant contracts.
• Instigate periodic thank-you letters to donors.

Position: S11197 Stroke Association Support Coordinator

Location: Home-based –Medway however, frequent travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work-related meetings)

The Role

The service aims to identify and address the needs of stroke survivors and carers across the stroke pathway, by providing a range of innovative support solutions, supporting them to meet their desired outcomes. The post will be line managed by the Deputy Legal Director (Corporate Affairs).

Duties and responsibilities

You will:

• Provide high-quality, pragmatic legal advice, with supervision as appropriate, spanning the different operational activities of the University, delivered at pace.

• With appropriate supervision, as required, support the review, negotiation, drafting, interpretation and enforcement of a range of commercial agreements including (among others) education services agreements, sponsorship and grant agreements, collaboration, partnership and joint venture agreements, financing and investment agreements, complex procurement contracts, student terms and conditions and the terms of conditions of various ancillary services provided by Imperial.

• With supervision, as required, assist with contract disputes, with specialist support from external lawyers where appropriate.

• Assist on technology transfer and IP-related matters (as escalated by the University’s Research Office or Imperial’s commercialisation subsidiary, Imperial College Innovations Limited).

• Support certain real estate and estates-related matters such as acquisition and disposals of real estate (supporting Imperial’s in-house real estate counsel from time to time).

• Advise upon, with supervision as required, matters such as the restructuring of Imperial group subsidiaries, share issuances and capital reductions.

Essential requirements

• A minimum of degree level education or equivalent experience.

• Qualified as a solicitor or barrister.

• Current Practising Certificate to practise law in England & Wales.

• PQE advising on a broad range of subject areas.

• Experience of working effectively within a team.

• Proven experience of reviewing and drafting a wide range of contracts with varying complexities at pace and of delivering high quality, practical legal advice at pace on a broad range of topics in relation to them.

• Experience of managing a diverse portfolio of tasks, including managing conflicting priorities.

• Proficient use of IT systems and software.

• A understanding of the law combined with the ability and confidence to apply legal principles to unfamiliar subject areas to be able to advise across a broad range of matters at pace.

• Able and willing to work flexibly and respond to changing priorities.

• The ability to think strategically and creatively, see legal issues in their wider context.

• Clear ability to analyse and evaluate often complex data to identify risks and make well considered, pragmatic decisions that demonstrate reliable legal judgement.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with demonstrable ability to explain complex legal matters in a clear, concise way, both orally and in writing.

• Strong drafting and negotiation skills.

• Work as an effective team player with colleagues from across the University to achieve the University aims and objectives.

• Be approachable and build a strong interpersonal relationships.

• Resilient and highly organised with the ability to maintain effective performance in challenging circumstances, encouraging others to do the same.

• Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development, including leadership, management and people skills.

Our Youth Project Leaders are individuals who are passionate about working with young people, supporting them to reach and be confident in their potential. You may be an experienced youth worker, or have experience facilitating sessions or working with young people and leading volunteers.

We also run celebratory events, socials, networking and training sessions throughout the year - opportunities to meet other people who are passionate about working with and supporting young people. 

Your Job Description 

As a Youth Project Leader, you will: 

• Deliver ReachOut sessions at the same partner school on the same day and time weekly during term time.

• Prepare your ReachOut sessions, following ReachOut’s curriculum and adapting the activities to the needs and interests of your assigned group.

• Facilitate engaging ReachOut sessions for the young people attending by ensuring that the voice of young people is listened to and impacts the way the sessions are planned and facilitated.

• Manage and support a group of volunteer mentors; supporting them to build strong rapport with their mentees and helping them to understand how to best adapt their mentoring approach to the young people they are working with.

• Support theyoung people in your session to reach and be confident in their potential by facilitating the creation of good mentee/mentor relationships and by running activities to build the ReachOut Character Strengths.

• Complete monitoring and evaluation activities to ensure the sessions are as impactful as possible and set up strategies with the help of your line manager to help each young person in your group reach their mentoring goal.

• Keep in touch with the parents/carers of the young people in your group about attendance, successes and challenges.

• Manage your project’s weekly admin by planning your sessions, maintaining your attendance and providing detailed project updates to your line manager.

• Attend ReachOut events and socials with their mentors. • Follow ReachOut’s policies/procedures to safeguard young people.

• Act and communicate in a professional manner, in line with ReachOut character strengths and culture.

• Attend all compulsory training.
