THE OPPORTUNITY

The Northern Powergrid Foundation has been established in support of our mission of becoming an anchor organisation in the communities we serve. It commits to funding projects across our network that support energy resilience initiatives and helps those in our local communities who are most affected by changes in our economy, environment and society because of the shifting energy landscape.

The Foundation was initially funded by a £7.69m donation from Northern Powergrid (Northeast) plc and Northern Powergrid (Yorkshire) plc. But this is just a start, our purpose is an enduring one that goes beyond this initial funding and reflects our desire to create a legacy across our communities.

The Foundation’s board of trustees has established the organisation as a charitable Foundation, assessing funding requests and building a plan for self-sustainability as an entity. It is important that we are confident we are doing the right thing and spending our funds on the things that matter most to our communities.

To support this, we are currently recruiting for a purpose driven, entrepreneurial and creative partnership manager to play a key role in creating and delivering the Foundation’s business plan

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead on the funding generation for a new charitable Foundation that’s purpose is to enhance energy resilience, reduce fuel poverty and support the transition to net zero within our communities.

SCOPE OF THE ROLE

The Head of the Northern Powergrid Foundation will work alongside the Foundation Board and lead the Foundation operational team to spearhead the growth of the Foundation through business philanthropic support, cultivating strategic partnerships, utilising grants and nurturing major donors aligned with the Foundations vison

Your leadership will be pivotal in motivating the whole Foundation team, developing successful partnerships, and mobilising our strategic pillars in securing additional funding pipelines to accelerate their impact. Alongside developing and delivering a sound business plan in accordance with our policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the foundation team to deliver the commitments made in our annual business plan

• Be accountable for reporting to the Board of Trustees, providing board reports and accurate, up to date information pertaining to funding and community engagement by the Foundation

• Ensure income and expenditure are correctly recorded in the accounts and a high-quality audit trail maintained.

• Work in partnership with external partners to drive awareness, identify beneficiaries and engage with the wider community.

• Be responsible for updating and revising the charity’s business plan and funding strategy in accordance with the Boards strategic direction.

• Develop, execute, and lead a strategic partnerships strategy to significantly enhance funding support

• Proactively identify, cultivate, and steward appropriate relationships to secure increased funding and impactful cause-related partnerships aligned with organisational priorities

• Build a strong pipeline and secure multi-year new funding routes through, although not limited to, philanthropic donation, match funding, grant applications and CSR partnerships by crafting compelling proposals and presentations.

• Provide inspiring stewardship to partners, including impact reporting, events, and excellent account management to maintain productive long-term relationships.

• Build the knowledge of the Foundation across communities so there is a strong understanding of the investment and support provided.

• Ensure you are leading the Foundation in accordance with our commitment to DEI, creating social impact through funding and partnerships delivering  to a broad range of recipients.

• Lead, inspire, and collaborate with the Foundation team across the full range of Foundation fundraising models, working closely with the Board to maximise fundraising efforts.

Fundraising and Supporter Relations Officer

The Role

In this role, you will manage key donor relationships, co-ordinate mailings and plan supporter events. You will work closely with the Communications team to develop and implement creative strategies that inspire generous support through digital and social media channels. Your responsibilities will also include developing a new legacy fundraising stream and ensuring all supporter data is managed in compliance with data protection legislation.

About You

With hands-on experience in charity fundraising and CRM database management, you will track and report financial performance against fundraising targets, collaborating with our Philanthropy and Fundraising teams to maximise giving opportunities. Your excellent communication and organisational skills will enable you to prepare compelling cases for support and build strong, lasting relationships with donors

DOTW UK has a small, high-performing and dynamic services team dedicated to delivering high quality, person-centred healthcare in a fast-paced environment, ensuring exceptional personal and team performance.

We are looking for an Outreach Senior Caseworker with experience of delivering effective advocacy on behalf of people from marginalised communities. This role will  play a key role in the delivery of services that will support equal access to primary medical services for people seeking asylum in contingency accommodation in Northeast London. The outreach service will offer initial health and social assessments, urgent care, and will facilitate GP registration and, and support access to wider healthcare and support services within the area through direct referrals and signposting, and coordination with other local services and partners.

As part of DOTWs Services team, you will support the service by proactively promoting DOTW’s service at individual accommodation sites, providing social assessments for residents and their dependents, escalating health issues of any immediate concern, and support responses to urgent health and/or safeguarding concerns. As part of a culture of best practice, you will ensure adherence to DotW policies and will provide support resolving complex cases, deploying your demonstrative experience delivering person-centred, compassionate care and/or advice and support to people seeking asylum or from other excluded communities.

You will lead by example, demonstrating effective advocacy, coordination, and multi-tasking skills, The role requires emotional agility, and resilience, especially when dealing with complex situations such as mental health crises, trafficking, and homelessness, where you will draw on your experience to manage complex situations calmly and compassionately. You will be someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and be able to work productively and constructively within a close-knit team by demonstrating an open and responsive attitude and using your excellent communication skills.

You will have strong IT skills and ideally a driving licence to be able to support us to deliver our services in our dedicated mobile clinic vans. You will have the skills to work independently and manage your own and volunteers' health and safety, sometimes working alone.

You will be supported by an experienced team, regular line management, and clinical supervision. Skills in Basic Life Support, First Aid, safeguarding, mental health management, and trauma-informed approaches will be provided.

Responsibilities

Strategic development and implementation

• Develop and oversee an effective PR communications strategy, including business/trade press and public affairs (EU and UN advocacy), based on ProVeg’s strategic principles, impact areas and global interventions.

• Be accountable for the development, delivery, and evaluation of the organisation’s PR activities.

• Create relations with key media outlets to increase visibility and dissemination opportunities

• Develop media relations and build relationships with PR contacts to continuously grow our impact.

• Secure media opportunities for the Senior Leadership and Executive Team and the Global CEO.

• Oversee and ensure the management of positive relationships with the media and relevant change agents, and external colleagues.

Qualifications

Required:

• An excellent understanding of the plant-based and alternative protein sector and knowledge of food systems change.

• A successful track record (5+ years) in journalism (print or broadcast), marketing, or public affairs, developing and delivering strategic objectives across a range of communications channels.

• Strong track record in PR (including broadcast), marketing and/or organisational branding.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, English to native level (or C1).

• Excellent networking skills and experience in building productive relationships with key media stakeholders and influencers.

• Strong project management skills.

• Ability to juggle a varied workload, delegate effectively and contribute as a team player.

About the Role

The Young Adult Support Worker will work as part of a team delivering an assessment, support and move-on service to vulnerable clients in supported accommodation. The successful candidate will have a caseload of 8 clients aged 18-25, in a male-only supported accommodation in Waltham Forest.

You will be required to work from our offices in Lambeth once a week approximately or as the business need arises. Your work will be underpinned by the Depaul Endeavour model of assets-based, psychologically informed delivery. The aim is to ensure that every client leaves a Depaul service with the skills and resilience to be confident and self-determining in their lives.

Working under the direction, guidance and support of a manager/senior worker you will be responsible for a caseload of clients and share responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of all clients, volunteers and staff in the service. In accommodation-based services, you will ensure that the accommodation is properly maintained and support the client to sustain their tenancy and participate in a positive and successful move-on.

Key responsibilities include:

· You will carry a caseload of clients for whom you will be the named key worker, and you will also take joint responsibility with your team members for the well-being and day-to-day support of all clients in the services

· You will lead on risk and needs assessment and support planning for your key clients and contribute to ongoing needs and risk assessment of other clients in the service

· You will develop and implement SMART outcomes based support plans for your key clients

· You will deliver one-to-one and group support opportunities within their accommodation and in the local community aimed at increasing resilience in the clients we work with.

Main purpose of the role:

After a period of financial transformation, we are now looking for a highly experienced Bookkeeper / Credit Controller. The successful candidate is responsible to provide accurate and timely financial information to both the Community and the National Team. In particular, maintain accurate records of income and expenditure using Microsoft Business Central (Accounting software) and liaise closely with the wider team across L'Arche. Additionally, the Bookkeeper/ Credit Controller will work across various sales ledgers throughout the charity ensuring all monies owed are paid within the agreed payment terms. They will also provide support to the finance team in completion of daily and monthly finance-related tasks.

The Role

Reporting to the Executive Director of Locality Impact our Locality Impact Directorate is responsible for the effective delivery of high quality commissioned and non-commissioned support to stroke survivors and carers. We provide a range of support for people from the early days after stroke throughout their recovery and into the longer term, working closely with our network of volunteers, Stroke Association support groups, and independent groups as part of the Stroke Group Network.

You’ll lead a motivated and engaged team of staff and volunteers to:

· Champion and support improvements to NHS stroke services, building effective relationships with key stakeholders and influencing local stroke policy and practice

· Increase the reach and impact of locality delivered services to ensure all new stroke survivors in the East of England receive the support they need to rebuild their lives after stroke

· Engage with the wider stroke community to put stroke on the map and ensure stroke survivors have the support they need, with a focus on addressing health inequalities

About You

You will have:

· Senior-level experience in advocacy/influencing; service delivery or community engagement and development.

· Senior level experience influencing local or national policy change, ideally in health and social care.

· Substantial experience of holding senior-level relationships with partner organisations, ideally in health and social care / the NHS and a strong understanding of systems leadership.

Job Description

The Financial Controller (FC), reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), will manage all accounting functions within LightEn and related entities, making sure that all accounting records are appropriately kept and that accounting procedures and reports are compliant with all relevant standards and legislation. The FC will coordinate and manage the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, prepare monthly accounts, dashboards, forecasts, and other regular financial, regulatory and compliance reports. The FC will ensure that the finance team operates within a robust control environment and will support the CAO in preparing for and coordinating preparations for external audits. The FC will support the development of all internal control policies, contribute to ensuring all financial systems are fit for purpose and maintained, and be able to identify any potential areas for improvement. 

The primary responsibilities will include:

• Day-to-day management of accounting operations for one or more complex corporations or nonprofits, during periods of significant growth and change, including application of compliant accounting treatment for: income recognition including for grants receivable, grants payable, and other forms of charitable giving; accounts payable; general ledger; full cost recovery; inventory accounting; administration of payroll, pensions, and other staff benefits; and any other related accounting and operational tasks.
• Preparation of budgets and financial forecasts and reporting any variances.
• Preparation of monthly management accounts, forecasts, and reports which identify results, trends, and variances to budget.
• Ensuring all transactions are recorded, filed, and reported properly.
• Making sure reporting complies with all appropriate accounting standards, statutory law and financial regulations for one or more complex corporations or nonprofits.

Main Responsibilities 

Strategy and Planning

Working with the Chief Executive and Development and Communications Committee to set and lead on the development of NCO’s development strategy, setting fundraising targets in line with strategic objectives.

Oversee all fundraising activity and report to the Chief Executive, NCO Board and Finance Committee on progress towards income targets.

As a member of the Senior Management Team, represent the Development function to ensure full account is taken of development potential whilst contributing towards the leadership and strategic direction of NCO.

Individual Giving

Lead on re-establishing NCO’s Individual Giving programme, drawing on the potential pipeline of current stakeholders (eg parents and alumni) and delegating to/working with the Development Team in its successful delivery.

Lead on new mid/major donor giving and relationships including legacies, personally managing a portfolio of prospects and donors.

Support the Development team to lead in the delivery of NCO’s annual giving programmes, ie Friends and Patrons.

Lead on individual campaigns, working collaboratively with the Development team to maximise opportunities to engage with new supporters through events and matched funding initiatives (eg The Big Give).

Work with the Chief Executive and other senior staff to ensure the continued engagement and support of the NCO Board.

Trusts and Foundations

Lead on fundraising from Trusts & Foundations and other grant giving bodies (excluding statutory funding).

Research and cultivate existing and new funders, working with the Chief Executive, Board and the Development Team to initiate new partnerships and maintaining systems to ensure that those partnerships are successfully managed and sustained.

Prepare compelling major grant applications to secure new funding with sound attention to detail, and work with colleagues by leading and advising on other vital grant applications undertaken by members of the Development team, sharing best practice in fundraising to develop the organisation’s skills.

As part of the Development team, provide appropriate and timely monitoring information to trusts and foundations, as required by their conditions of support including, where appropriate, organising events and visits.

Corporate Fundraising

Lead the Development team on stewarding existing and cultivating new corporate sponsors and ensuring benefits and recognition are delivered across NCO’s marketing channels.

Statutory Funding

Support the Chief Executive and wider team to ensure that NCO fulfils its quarterly and annual reporting requirements to Arts Council England and the Department for Education and in the creation of new funding applications including as part of the next ACE Investment Review.

(NB: The day to day management and reporting requirements of NCO’s NPO and DfE grants will be managed by a newly appointed Business Administrator and overseen by the Chief Executive).

Organisation and Management

Line manage NCO’s Development Manager through individual objective setting and performance management, regular 1:1 meetings and identification of training needs.

Empower the Development team by ensuring they have regular opportunities to develop their skills and experience across different areas of fundraising and through training whilst supporting them wholeheartedly in their professional development.

Inspire and lead the Development team, and set an example, on the application, implementation and adherence to all NCO policies and procedures.

Support the Development team to lead on the development of NCO’s CRM System (Beacon) in specific relation to its fundraising functions, in line with the Data Protection Act.

Maximise the potential of Gift Aid from all donations, supporting the Development team to ensure all donations and payments received are appropriately logged, accompanied by appropriate paperwork and in line with annual audit requirements and submitted in a timely manner.

Produce Development reports for quarterly Board and Finance Committee meetings, attending online and in person as required.

Undertake research and maintain a high level of knowledge about trusts, foundations, individuals, and statutory funding to inform planning.

Represent NCO at conferences undertaking public and media presentations, attending conferences and events and lobbying forums as appropriate

The Income Generation Directorate at Shelter comprises of 5 departments, delivering a mature fundraising programme that has seen continuous year on year diversity and growth. • High level of emotional intelligence and ability to build and maintain strong, trusting relationships, internally and externally, across cultures and geographies, to further unit goals
• Demonstrated specialized knowledge of grantmaking policy, including ability to design reasonable policy, anticipate ways in which policies may succeed or fail, and effectively develop and carry out strategy to align grantmaking practices with OSF’s approach to grantmaking and goals of a given policy
• Ability to use data and information to undertake assessment and inform decision-making 
• Excellent l, project management and organizational skills 
• Ability to draft policies, guidance and other documents in English; and basic understanding of approaches to adult learning and facilitation 
• Works with considerable independence under limited supervision, using judgment to identify issues requiring supervisory involvement
