Now, after an internal promotion, we are looking to recruit an Organisational Support Officer.  This is a vital, interesting and challenging role.  It will mean you're involved in everything we do.  You'll work alongside and give practical support to all colleagues, using your skills to help us deliver products and services smoothly.

There will be four main areas where you will be most involved:

• Training....including administering agreements with trainers, providing pre and post event support for online sessions, creating products on our online training platform.
• Operations...including processing membership applications, dealing with queries from the public and professionals, supporting internal financial and other processes.
• Standards and governance...administering complaints, setting up and supporting committee meetings.
• Communications...including  social media posting, updating website content, creating newsletters.

There is no doubt that this is an exciting role.  No week will be the same and you will be supported in getting involved in as many things as possible to help your professional development.

To succeed you'll need to be flexible, proactive and have a diverse skillset.  You'll have an eye for detail and an understanding of the fundamentals of administration.  You'll be comfortable working with technology and learning how to do new things quickly.  You'll be able to work independently as well as in close collaboration with others.  You'll be an excellent communicator, comfortable speaking with a range of people and producing high quality written outputs.

Here for You is Breast Cancer Now’s personalised referral route to all of our services.

This role is responsible for the management and development of the Here for You delivery team. This includes training and line managing support officers and volunteers who make initial and follow up calls to primary and secondary breast cancer patients. This new role has been created to take on day to day responsibility of the Here for You delivery tasks, ensure patients get calls within service level agreements and provide timely and trusted information and support to people diagnosed with breast cancer. This involves leading the team, responding to safeguarding issues, collecting data, and guide the team to deliver excellent information on the phone. The role also involves collaborating with colleagues focusing on the Here for You expansion, as well as working with colleagues across the primary services, secondary services and personalised support services. The role also liaises with our Helpline team.

The right candidate will be passionate about reaching more people with breast cancer and can develop and manage a growing team, provide quality phone calls and is willing to adapt and innovate. About the role:

The Regional Finance Director will provide the overall leadership and management for all aspects of finance to Ark Schools in the South London region. The role will be focused on ensuring processes are embedded across all schools; supporting schools new to the network (or with new staff structures) with transition as well as leading, with regard to finance, on strategic projects within the schools.

Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

• Experience in the implementation of financial processes, planning and reporting
• Extensive experience in successfully managing and motivating a team
• A highly organised and proactive approach to work

Key Responsibilities: 

• To be responsible for all aspects of finance at the academies and developing the in-school finance teams to provide a high-level service to their principals and operations leads
• To be a member of the South London Senior Leadership Team, with responsibility for strategic financial management and financial performance
• To work with Ark Central, and other academies in the Ark network, to develop, implement and embed standardised processes and procedures
• To be responsible directly to the Schools Finance Director for the strategic financial management in all schools in the region
• To control, monitor and evaluate the academies’ finances, ensuring compliance with financial requirements and value for money
• To ensure clear and timely management and financial accounts as required for the Regional Director, Principals, Local Governing Bodies, and Ark Central
• To work with the Operations Leads to negotiate, manage and monitor contracts, tenders and agreements for the provision of services to the Academies, to ensure that services are delivered to a high quality and support the operation of the Academies
• To work with the HR Business Partner to oversee all matters relating to payroll, including Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs queries, National Insurance, benefits in lieu of pay (travel loans etc.), Give as You Earn scheme, and to ensure that appropriate controls are in place and robust checks are made in relation to the monthly payroll
• To be responsible for ensuring the region’s processes for pensions management and reporting are in place. This includes monthly and annual returns as well as audit, working with the HR Business Partner and school HR teams, as applicable
• To develop, enable and strategically lead a team of finance staff to deliver the vision for the region against its strategic priorities and timescales
• To arrange or deliver finance training for staff in South London, maintaining an on-going review of need
• To drive forward change and initiatives which promote regularity, propriety, value for money and best standards

• Professional accountancy qualification, including significant post-qualifying experience
• A record of Continuing Professional Development activities

We are seeking an individual to undertake the role of Head of Community Fundraising. The position requires you to have strong leadership skills, meet annual targets and manage current Community Fundraisers across the UK. This is a permanent opportunity to join our Finance Team as an Accountant, working within a team of 4 Accountants, based in our Head Office, Birmingham.

As a Finance Team we are committed to working collaboratively and are looking for someone with great communication skills and who is a team player. 

Reporting into the Finance Business Support Manager, you will provide support to the 4 Finance Business Partners in delivering accurate and insightful financial reporting and planning for the Fund. Alongside this, you will provide support to colleagues to ensure there is cover across all processes in the Finance Team. The Fund pride themselves on developing individuals, this role allows for an Accountant or Finance Assistant who is part qualified and growing to be supported with the next step in their career. 

Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

• Support the delivery of timely, accurate and insightful financial reporting
• Support the key monthly reporting deliverables ensuring grants, salary, operating cost and headcount transactions are posted and recorded accurately in the Management Accounts
• Undertaking financial system reconciliations 
• Support the quarterly forecasting and the annual budget reporting
• Support the statutory year end reporting
• Review and improve current processes and reporting
• Support the Finance Business Partners to drive efficiencies and contribute to the strategic direction of the Fund 

The ideal candidate should have experience working within a finance department and have an enquiring mind and demonstrate good attention to detail, along with strong analytical and communication skills. The role takes a hybrid approach to working with at least 1 day per week in the Birmingham office. A study package is available.

Support with sleep challenges and sensory needs are a large part of the role so experience in these areas would be welcomed.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and well organised person to join us as our Family Information Officer as part of our Family Team. Working alongside the Family Programme Team and wider Programmes Team, this role will fill a critical information gap for the families that WellChild supports and will help the charity attract new and harder to reach families into the WellChild Family Tree network.

Through becoming familiar with relevant policy and guidance for families caring for children with complex medical needs, you will be able to help identify the key issues facing our families and then curate the most relevant, up to date information from a variety of expert sources to help support them whilst also taking the lead on information projects aimed at helping families to thrive at home.

Purpose of the role:

Families thrust into a world of disability and complex care find themselves having to navigate their way through a ‘new normal’ with nowhere to go for relevant information and advice. The result leaves many unaware of their entitlements or the help that might be available. This puts many families under extreme pressure, leading to financial hardship, family breakdowns and emotional strain.

Working within the Family Team and reporting to the Family Programme Manager, this role will continue to develop and expand WellChild’s information provision. This will be achieved through research and delivery of information, tools and advice for families on subjects such as, but not limited to health, legal rights and entitlements, wellbeing and local services.

The Role

You will be at the heart of the theatre’s mission, ensuring that financial practices not only meet but exceed industry standards.

You will work closely with the Executive and Senior Management team, providing strategic financial guidance to both the Executive and the Board of Trustees. About You

Head of Finance

We are looking for a Head of Finance, in this is a newly created post, following a period of review within Finance and Systems. Set within an innovative, young-person centred charity and the wider network, this role is ideal for an individual who is an experienced charity accountant and loves improving finance systems and processes, with a desire to lead an enthusiastic Finance Team.

This is a permanent role offering hybrid working.

We are looking for an individual who has sound technical knowledge of current accounting regulations, combined with the ability to communicate financial information to a wide variety of people, some with no financial background and others who are experienced professionals.

About You

You will have accounting experience at management level within a charity setting and full working knowledge of preparing management accounts, budget setting and forecasting.

You will also have significant experience of the maintenance and administration of financial and reporting systems including identifying improvements to processes and managing system updates.  Knowledge of Sage and Xero software, Excel and other appropriate financial packages are essential.

Conversant with the requirements of SORP 2015, and other relevant legislation, when preparing charity accounts (training can be provided), you will have experience in annual audits, within either a company or charity setting (guidance can be provided).

You will work with the local police to provide home security interventions for older residents who the police report need support, and you will work through our existing community services to find appropriate older people for the project. Responsibilities

Donor financial budgeting, reporting and monitoring

· Gather, manipulate and present data on Young Lives budgets and forecasting including those for ongoing projects, new funding proposals, re-budgeting exercises and partner organisation budgets, working closely with the Young Lives Programme Manager, Programme Officer/s and Collaborating Partners.

· Liaise with the Programme Manager to review the financial position on Young Lives projects and advise on solutions to problems relating to expenditure on projects whilst maintaining the auditable standards on the project. Check research budget set-ups for accuracy on Oracle, deal with issues arising, analyse grant spend on a monthly basis, highlight variances and take follow-up action, and facilitate updated X5 to re-cost salaries on awards and identify any over or under spends on salary budgets.

· Coordinate the quarterly financial reporting processes used by Young Lives partners. Check reports against budgets. Coordinate the preparation of Young Lives financial reports and invoices to FCDO and other Young Lives funders in line with contractual requirements. Prepare budget and quarterly forecasts for the Department.

· Process partner payments required under partner collaborative agreements and consultancy agreements, as agreed by the Young Lives Programme Manager.

· Monitor Young Lives project expenditure against approved budgets and donors’ terms and conditions. Gather, manipulate and present data to produce regular financial reports showing income, expenditure and forecasting against budgets.

· Assist with audits of Young Lives, as required.

· Represent and present on finances externally to funders, as required, and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Young Lives’ funding bodies’ terms and conditions

General Financial Management

· Ensure full recovery of expenses on the e-expenses system (SAP Concur), reviewing on-line ready for departmental approval, ensuring that expenditure remains within set budgets and complies with the grantor’s terms and conditions and University financial guidelines, giving guidance to claimants where necessary.

· Arrange for and monitor travel advances, and pre-paid MasterCards, issued to YL staff and clear the advances on their return. Check and process project credit card statements and receipts and deal with any queries that arise;

· Raise pre-requisition orders ensuring that procurement policies are followed;

· Undertake transactional processing as necessary in the Oracle Financial system, including invoices for payment, accruals and prepayment and dealing with anomalies. Check figures for errors and omissions. Ensure all Young Lives financial transactions are carried out in accordance with the University and external financial regulations.

· Monitor the Young Lives general ledger account (non-project funded) and ensure effective reconciliation and reporting of all transactions.

· Maintain good working relationships with Young Lives staff, partners and suppliers and with Departmental finance and administrative staff and the University's central finance office and be proactive in resolving issues.

· Proactively undertake continuous improvement of finance processes and systems and of reporting provision to support changing requirements and improve management information. Communicate and support the implementation of these improvements effectively.

· Develop and refine financial systems and procedures for Young Lives to ensure strong financial management and control. Respond to enquiries, and provide advice on financial procedures and policies.

Selection criteria

Essential

• Have achieved or be working towards an accounting qualification
• Educated to degree level or equivalent and at least two years’ experience in a similar role.
• Good accounting skills; experience of preparing financial reports, budgets and forecasts
• Knowledge of the purpose, use and application of financial controls
• Excellent numeracy skills, thoroughness and attention to detail, resulting in the ability to produce accurate, detailed work
• Strong diplomacy and team skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of colleagues and funders
• Flexibility and the ability to work on own initiative and organise own workload effectively
• Evidence of tact and discretion in dealing with matters of a confidential or sensitive nature
• High level of computer literacy with experience of using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
•  The ability to present financial information in a variety of formats and for non-accountants
