Starlight is the national charity transforming children’s health through play. We work 
to ensure that every child can benefit from the incredible power of play, supporting 
their mental and physical health during treatment and recovery from illness.
Play is not just a ‘nice to have’, without play, children can experience short, and 
long-term problems. In fact, it’s so important, that being able to engage in play is 
one of the human rights listed in the UN’s Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Without play, problems faced can range from anxiety around having blood tests 
which could mean appointments being abandoned and rescheduled, to developing 
PTSD and a fear around visiting hospitals and healthcare settings. It’s not 
uncommon for health play specialists to have to meet children in the car park as 
they are too scared to even set foot inside the hospital.
Each year, there are nearly 1.8 million child hospital admissions in the UK and 
nearly three-quarters (71%) of NHS trusts and health boards do not have any 
budget for play.

This is simply not good enough; we think that play in healthcare is non-negotiable.
Driven by our research and insights into what works best for them, we provide direct 
services and resources for children and their families; and to the health 
professionals working with them. We also advocate for more and better health play 
services in public policy; and promote the full recognition of health play practitioners 
as an integral component of the children’s health workforce.
Our Health Play Services Delivery team provide physical and digital materials and 
resources which support the delivery of health play to practitioners and families. 
These are informed by insight, evidence and evaluation from our Insight and Impact 
Team.
Central to these materials and resources is our range of Boxes which contain toys 
and activities specifically selected to help children relax, distract, and engage to 
ensure their treatment can be carried out as quickly and effectively as possible with 
minimal stress. 
The current Health Play Services Delivery Manager is about to be seconded to a 
new Commercial Development role, initially for 6-months, as we shape the 
development of a new source of income for Starlight through paid for services. 
There may be the possibility of an extension to this contract depending upon the 
outcome of the secondment.
The Health Play Services Delivery Manager, reporting to our Head of Play leads the 
end-to-end process of our services. You’ll need experience in the operational 
management of service delivery and experience of working with the NHS and in 
children’s services would be an advantage. You’ll work across all areas from 
procurement through stock control to the logistics of delivery and you’ll build 
relationships internally and externally to ensure efficient, effective, high quality 
service delivery and excellent customer relationship management. Reporting 
directly to the Head of Play, you’ll manage the Service Delivery Co-ordinator and
the Service Data Officer within the Hospital Services Team.

As the Senior Volunteering Manager, you’ll be someone that can inspire people that you manage and wider staff in the team, and help lead key areas of our volunteering programme.
You’ll be someone who sets high expectations for the people that you manage, ensuring that they deliver the best experience possible for our volunteers through quality programme delivery and outcomes. This role will be responsible for some key department projects, setting expectations and targets with colleagues across the team, learning from our data, leading quality within our programme and looking to develop new ways of working.

We are looking for an experienced, strategically minded and solutions focused Senior Operations Manager to join us here at the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) as part of our Exams Team. 

The RCR creates and delivers exams on the behalf of the General Medical Council (GMC) to assess doctors qualifying as Clinical Oncologists (cancer doctors) and Radiologists (doctors who diagnose through medical imaging). The Senior Operations Manager will oversee the work of the operational exam delivery team, working at a high level to realise our growth plans. 

As a dynamic leader, you will create medium- and long-term plans to grow exam capacity, both domestically and globally, recognising that the number of candidates completing their exams directly impacts the growth of our specialties. This will include monitoring and responding to changes in demand for exams, optimising pricing models and identifying and delivering operational efficiencies. You will achieve this by motivating and enthusing your direct reports and the wider team, connecting them to the bigger picture and ensuring they are reaching high levels of performance.

To be successful in this role you will have a significant level of operational and financial management experience, including the ability to manage budgets within a complex financial picture and long-term strategic planning skills. You will also have the ability to identify and mitigate risks in delivery, ensuring that the RCR maintains its reputation as offering world class qualifications. 

You will be a pivotal player within the exams team ensuring operational efficiency and an excellent service are part of the seamless delivery of our high-stakes exams. What you’ll do: 

• Strategic development of exam operations to deliver sufficient exams for the market/audience over the medium and long term.
• Leading the implementation of plans and initiatives for exams operations, securing and allocating resources, agreeing and managing the overall exams operations budget.
• Be an exceptional multi-team leader, providing direction and support to motivate and direct line reports in achieving exam function goals, ensuring outcomes are clear and progress is measurable.
• Responsible for operational reporting to internal Committees and other stakeholders, via written reports and in person.
• Develop and maintain product ownership of the Exams Candidate Management System (EMS) to ensure it is fit for purpose and working effectively to support strategic objectives.
• Actively participate as a member of the exams management team.

The role:

The New Business Manager role will play a key role in leading our New Business activity outside of our existing portfolio. Reporting to our recently appointed Senior Manager for Partnership and New Business, your role will involve:

1. Core New Business activity: Researching and development of prospect lists for priority industries to implement New Business campaigns capable of securing multi-year high value partnerships. Responsibility for building Street Child’s network of corporate relationships and growing pipeline of corporate partnership opportunities.

2. Partnership and proposition development: Working closely with our colleagues in the Corporate Partnerships and Global Programme Funding teams to develop engaging and impactful partnership plans and project propositions, focusing on priority countries and programmes to support Street Child’s strategy and mission.

3. Corporate engagement with events: Utilising the portfolio of events Street Child has across the year to engage and steward corporate relationships, including Street Child owned events and external events including the World Economic Forum and UN General Assembly.

4. Supporting on cross-organisational fundraising activations: Leading on new corporate engagement activities, including new fundraising and sponsorship activations, to support cross-organisational initiatives including our Spring Gala, annual Back to School Campaign and other key milestones throughout the year.

Key activities in this role:

• Development of New Business engagement plans – identifying, researching, engaging and cultivating new corporate prospects and relationships;
• Implementing ambitious New Business campaigns to target priority industries, including the oversight of prospecting and marketing mapping activity;
• Management of new business pipeline and prospect lists, including use and maintenance of corporate prospects data on CRM;

We are looking for a proactive and organised individual to join Young Enterprise as the Resources Development Project Manager. The successful candidate will lead on all aspects of the resource development and Quality Mark accreditation services, ensuring high standards and efficient project management from inception to completion.

About the Role

The Resources Development Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing multiple resource development projects, from drafting high-quality funding proposals to managing content creation, working with expert authors, design agencies, and coordinating evaluation processes. The role involves maintaining effective stakeholder communications, managing budgets, and reporting on progress both verbally and digitally against KPIs.

Another key responsibility will be managing the Quality Mark accreditation process, including training freelance assessors and supporting external resource producers through assessment.

Reporting to the Services Development Manager, the Resources Development Project Manager will also line manage and support the Services Coordinator in their role.

Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive individual with excellent communication, organisation and project management skills. You will have a track record of delivering projects on time and on budget, a solution focussed attitude to problem solving and the ability to balance and prioritise competing demands in a busy function.

You should be experienced in developing and managing resources or content from concept to delivery, building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders, and coordinating evaluation processes. We are looking for someone who is proactive, can work independently, and is comfortable making trade-offs while understanding the wider impact on interconnected areas. A passion for supporting young people and a commitment to the values of Young Enterprise are essential.

Experience in managing digital content development, an understanding of educational settings, and knowledge of the current educational landscape are not required but would be advantageous.

We are looking for an experienced and talented Communications and Brand Manager to join The Royal College of Radiologists (RCR). This is an exciting role for a creative and collaborative individual looking to lead on our member engagement, brand and marketing activity to ensure that the RCR is positioned as the global leader on all aspects of radiology and oncology. 

Reporting into the Head of Marketing and Digital, with three direct reports, you will lead on the promotion of all RCR activity to our members, ensuring they are engaged and updated, while feeling valued, listened to and part of an innovative community at the heart of healthcare. You’ll be a confident and skilled communicator, who is able to create clear, compelling, and effective copy. You will build communication plans and campaigns that share the wide range of RCR services with all our audiences, and build an RCR brand that is innovative, authoritative and inspiring. 

What you’ll do: 

• Evaluate and develop the way we use our communication channels to ensure they are creating impact and engagement with key audiences. 

• Support other teams to build engagement around our events, training courses, products and services through effective communications and promotion. 

• Oversee the delivery of our printed publications and collateral. 

• Manage corporate communications activity, including design and branding. 

• Work collaboratively with the wider team and other colleagues to develop cross-organisational plans to promote RCR activity 

• Oversee the development of an audience ad data-led approach to engagement.

• Lead our Alternative Provision programme - ‘Inspire to Work’, in partnership with Woodbridge Park Education Service (Hounslow Pupil Referral Unit), providing Year 11 students with meaningful employer engagement, workplace experiences, one-day-a-week supported internships and transition support.
