About Us:
Since 2006, ROLDA has dedicated itself to aiding vulnerable stray animals in Romania, one of Europe s poorer nations. Our mission includes rescue, rehabilitation, sheltering, sterilisation, and education. Our EU-standard shelters, inspired by British designs, can house up to 700 stray dogs, providing them with complete veterinary care and preparation for rehoming.
We have supported over 48,000 animals and built two dog shelters and one for disabled and senior cats. Additionally, we offer small grants to six other charities in Romania and over 40 shelters in Ukraine. We primarily rehome animals in Switzerland, Sweden, and the UK. By addressing the root causes of animal homelessness through neutering programmes and educational initiatives, we have significantly reduced overpopulation, helping over 40,000 cats and dogs in Romania and Ukraine.
Job Overview:
As the Volunteer Program Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the growth and impact of ROLDA through volunteer engagement. This is a remote position that requires strategic thinking, people management skills, and a commitment to achieving our charity’s objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Volunteer Recruitment and Management:
- Recruit, train, and oversee volunteers to support ROLDA’s various programs and initiatives.
- Develop and maintain a volunteer database using CRM systems to track volunteer activities and engagements.

Key role as a Head Office Administrator for a busy animal charity that would suit someone who wants to be involved and deliver excellent customer support. No 2 days are the same and multi tasking with varied responsibilites will be your middle names. Our expert team of canine behaviourists provide behavioural support and advice to teams within Battersea, members of the public, and the rescue organisations we work with around the world. The team design and help implement behaviour modification and training plans for dogs whilst coaching members of the canine care groups through the practical day-to-day steps. They also assist with behavioural and welfare assessments of animals who come into our centres and are on hand to help manage and provide further support with dogs with more complex behavioural needs. The team provide support to dogs during their stay at Battersea, and are also available for continued advice after rehoming.
We are now looking to recruit a Canine Behaviour and Training Advisor for our team in London. Within this role, you will work with our operational teams in the assessment and welfare of the dogs in our care and in the provision of behavioural training and advice for staff, volunteers, customers and external organisations. You will be working as part of a care group to create behaviour modification plans, support with handling difficult dogs and make recommendations, along with the individual care group, for individual dog outcomes.

About this job:
As Legacy Administrator, you’ll:
- be the first point of contact for the Legal team, representing the charity in communications with legal professionals and the public,
- manage your own caseload of legacies, maintaining relationships with legal professionals, members of the public, and other beneficiaries to ensure income is processed swiftly,
- support with the administration of legacy data, from handling post to ensuring information is recorded accurately in the database.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you’ll need strong administration skills, with the ability to manage a varied and busy workload effectively. You’ll also need excellent communication skills, from drafting written correspondence to interacting with the public on the phone, ideally you'll have experience of having sensitive conversations as you’ll be in regular contact with bereaved family members. Responsibilities of our Deputy Centre Manager:
As Deputy Centre Manager you will be tasked with managing our established Centre in line with Cats Protection’s main aims of homing, neutering and educating. You will ensure the welfare of all cats in our care and ensure that all administrative and maintenance procedures are completed to a high standard that is in keeping with our vision. A flexible approach to working hours including the ability to work weekends will be required as all centre employees are expected to work 50% of weekends and some evenings.
What we’re looking for in our Deputy Centre Manager:
- Supervisor/team leader experience, ideally within an animal welfare environment or organisation
- A confident communicator with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Knowledge of the prevention and control of infectious diseases in cats
- A driven, positive and enthusiastic individual with plenty of initiative and the ability to thrive under pressure
- Experience of managing a diverse team
- Experience using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel
- A full UK, manual or automatic driving licence as you may on occasion be required to drive centre vans

About the role:
The Head of Centre Operations is responsible for delivering the Trust’s strategic aims through a team of over ninety employees, as well as a significant number of volunteers across the organisations five rescue and re-homing centres and remote supporter groups.
This is a ‘hands-on’ role, the Head of Operations will plan, lead and consistently deliver in the charity’s rescue, rehoming and preventative work; maintaining high standards of animal welfare and customer service at all times.
About you:
The ideal person for this role will have a strong track record of management and leading teams across multiple site locations, you will also have experience in the following:
- A strong focus on coaching and a history of employee development
- An excellent verbal and written communicator
- Confident in using IT in the workplace, particularly Microsoft word, excel and presentations
- Experience in managing diverse operations across multi-site locations.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and workflows simultaneously
- The ability to influence organisational strategy as part of the senior team

In this role you will report to the Director of Finance managing the IT infrastructure, Data Protection, procurement contracts and policy requirements for the Charity to enable it to meet its legal, strategic and operational objectives.

About the role
We are recruiting for two experienced and proactive Administrative Assistants. As part of these exciting roles, you will support the respective Global Directors by enabling them to operate at the highest level towards achieving our strategic objectives. These roles involve comprehensive administrative support, effective time management, and coordination of various activities and events with a high level of accuracy. As an Assistant to Global Directors, some of the key duties and responsibilities of the position will be to organise and manage busy diaries, arranging travel, meetings, and events, ensuring all necessary arrangements are in place, including scheduling and coordinating other internal and external engagements. About you

Skills and experience:

About the BSAVA:
The BSAVA is a professional membership association which exists to advance care for companion animals. I am working with an animal charity who are seeking a skilled and motivated Financial Accountant to join their dedicated finance team in central London. This is a key role responsible for ensuring the overall financial controls are in order and accurate financial statements are done. This is a 3 month fixed term contract with a possibility of being extended.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Relevant experience in financial accounting, ideally within an international charity.
- Have deep understanding of SORP, UK GAAP, and IFRS accounting standards.
- Ideally have experience using Microsoft Business Central and excel at an advanced level.
- A strong background within managing payroll with working knowledge of payroll processes and experience auditing monthly payroll runs.
- Maintains an understanding of VAT and HMRC regulations.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment and able to work with multicurrency accounting practices.
What You'll Do:
- Oversee financial transaction processing, ensuring controls and risk management are running seamlessly.
- Manage all aspects of UK payroll processing, including compliance with HMRC regulations.

The Financial Accountant will have a strong background within Payroll, VAT and financial controls. Must be confident to work in a high-pressured role and have worked with an accounting system such as Business Central within the charity sector.
