This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, dynamic, and professional fundraiser to lead the team at Treloar’s. As the Director of Fundraising, you will develop and implement innovative fundraising strategies, oversee a dedicated and passionate team and support them in generating significant income through a variety of channels, including trusts and foundations, events, corporate partnerships, individual giving, and major donations.

We are looking for someone with a strong track record in senior-level charitable fundraising. You should bring advanced knowledge of a wide variety of fundraising channels, compliance expertise, and exceptional leadership skills. We’re looking for a UX designer and researcher to join the Service Design team on a permanent contract.

We’re a small team of 14 who are committed to growing user-centred design skills and best practice across the organisation.

We want someone with skills in both UX design and user research. The ideal candidate would have experience in roles such as UX Design, Interaction Design, and User Research.

We need someone that has the ideas and confidence to lead a team, and influence how we do things. And if you’re comfortable working across a service and tackling exciting design challenges, you’re ticking all the right boxes.

Job summary 

We are currently seeking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic Education Coordinator, passionate about community-based learning to join our small and friendly team. The Education Coordinator will be responsible for the delivery and development of all aspects of the work of the adult and family learning programme and will have the opportunity to develop other provision at the centre. Our adult learning programme supports over 250 local adults each year through a range of programmes designed to improve their English language, digital and maths skills and increase their employability and involvement in the community. Our family learning programme supports over 200 children with online after-school classes in Maths, English and Science. You would also be responsible for coordinating 6 teachers remotely to deliver weekly online after-school classes for Year 3 to Year 9 in all three subjects. We also deliver a range of informal family learning provision across our Family Programme services to over 1000 users, and some of these programmes may be included in our Adult Education offer and so you will be required to support with the administration of these activities. 

The Education Coordinator will be based at our centre at 2 Thorpe Close W10 5XL and will have responsibility for working with the heads of departments, tutors and education administrator, to plan and deliver the learning programme. The successful candidate will have a full UK teaching qualification in the Further Education sector, and delivery of FSE/ESOL at various levels would be desirable; have excellent leadership and inter-personal skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; be highly organised and efficient.

The salary is £33,500 per annum and in addition to bank holidays we offer 25 days’ annual leave, additional Christmas time leave, a pension scheme, cycle to work scheme and a comprehensive training programme.

The employment is subject to a probational period of twenty-six weeks from your start date of employment with Nova, during which time you will be required to demonstrate to the leadership team’s satisfaction your suitability for the position in which you are employed.

Responsibilities/ Core duties:  

• To organise, administer and develop all aspects of the learning programme and achieve given targets for retention, achievement, pass rates and other set KPIs in all curriculum areas, including Adult Education and children’s after-school classes delivered by our Family Programme. 

• To overview the accredited and non-accredited learning courses and develop curricula as appropriate. 

• To organise appropriate accreditation in each curriculum area and ensure that the requirements of the awarding body/ies are met as an internal verifier, and ensure that all paperwork meets the required standard of the awarding body/ies. 

• To ensure that the RARPA process is fully implemented. 

• To ensure compliance with OFSTED rules and procedures. 

• To plan progression routes into further learning or employment. 

• To work within the agreed departmental budgets and targets set by funders. 

• To manage the teachers and tutors, including regular observations, performance management and professional support, including children’s teachers delivering after-school classes remotely. 

• To identify and assess the continuous professional development needs of tutors and organise and facilitate education team meetings, including the Family Programme children’s teachers. 

• To keep up to date with national and regional developments in adult learning and cascade the information appropriately. 

• To plan and monitor the programme of courses in each area of the curriculum including liaison and/or partnership with other organisations, timetabling, holiday cover, including the Family Programme after school classes for children. 

• To oversee volunteer tutors to include monitoring, feedback and follow-up and ensure the line managers are assigned for specific subjects, including volunteer online classroom assistants or teachers for the Family Programme. 

• To maintain a Tutor Area on Share Point with examples of best practice and practical tips and advice for both Adult Education and Family Programme. 

• To ensure compliance with all necessary regulations and legal requirements, including Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety and Safeguarding of vulnerable groups. 

• To oversee internal and external data input and use data on enrolment, retention and achievement to monitor and plan provision. 

• To monitor and report on Children’s classroom attendance and learning progress in our Family Programme classes. 

• To prepare and present written reports to Heads of Department, trustees and funders as required, to include the analysis of attendance and achievement data

• To attend staff and trustee meetings, as required. 

• To prepare and present the annual and termly quality assurance and learner progress documents (eg. SAR – Self Assessment Report). 

• To oversee examinations across the organization and work with the exam boards in meeting their standards and requirements. 

• To maintain and develop our links with other organisations within the local area and London-wide. 

• To market and promote courses and services in order to attract potential learners through local schools, public organisations and community networks. 

• To deliver agreed elements of the learning courses and prepare syllabuses, evaluate individual lesson plans, schemes of work, sessions and courses. 

• To be available to cover, or arrange cover, to ensure all planned classes and courses go ahead. 

• To encourage students to extend their engagement in the community and to play a full part in the activities of the charity. 

• To create/ collate and manage calendar of events for Education, organise trips, workshops and talks for adult learners. 

• To provide a work environment that engenders positive energy, creativity and teamwork, to include regular tutor meetings and listen to/ act upon issues and concerns and by setting a professional example. 

• To support the wider work of the charity and undertake any task that may be requested from time to time that may be consistent with the nature and scope of this post.

A track record of good – outstanding teaching. Ideally QTLS or QTS and other relevant qualifications to teach numeracy, literacy or ICT. Experience of internal verification and observation of teaching. Excellent inter-personal and management skills; excellent written English and digital skills; efficient organisation skills; an outstanding teacher; creativity and innovation.

Passionate about volunteering, community organising, or the value of people helping people? We’re hiring a Senior Volunteer Coordinator to join our Student Development Team.

Every year thousands of students volunteer to build communities around activities and social issues that are meaningful to them. These volunteer student leaders have a huge impact on the student experience of thousands more of their peers, as well as hundreds of people in the University’s local community. The Student Development Team aims to create opportunities for students to build and participate in communities that are inclusive, sustainable, ambitious, and impactful, and the Senior Volunteer Coordinator will play a key role in achieving this vision for our student leadership programmes.

In collaboration with a second Senior Volunteer Coordinator, you’ll be leading on a series of volunteering programmes that we’re really proud of. Since September 2023, student volunteers have raised over £150,000 for charitable causes, given over 2,800 hours of their time to volunteer directly in the local community, and broadcast an award-winning radio station, among other achievements. As the Senior Volunteer Coordinator you will coordinate the onboarding, skills development, and tailored support for volunteer student leaders who, in turn, coordinate their own volunteer teams. This means you’ll play a vital role in shaping our student leadership culture, as the way you manage your volunteers will influence the way they manage theirs.

This role is of strategic importance to our student leadership programmes as, alongside coordinating your own volunteering programmes, you’ll be working with other student-facing teams to inspire colleagues to develop their own volunteer management practices.

Just for Kids Law (JfKL) works with and for children and young people to hold those with power to account and fight for wider reform. They do this by providing legal representation and advice, strategic litigation, campaigning, and equipping others to work for children’s rights.

They’ve achieved some incredible reforms that make a big difference to the lives of children and young people, including changes to the law on criminal records, which resulted in thousands of young people not being held back from fulfilling their potential, and ensuring that 17-year-olds are always treated as children in police custody. Additionally, JfKL hosts The Children’s Rights Alliance for England (CRAE), which works with around 100 members to promote children’s rights and monitor government implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Relationship Fundraiser

1.0 Job Purpose

The Relationship Fundraiser plays a crucial role in supporting the Relationship Manager in advancing North Yorkshire Hospice Care’s mission by assisting in the enhancement and management of relationships with individual donors.

The Relationship Fundraiser will assist in identifying potential donors, understanding their motivations, and contributing to tailored engagement strategies. Through these efforts, the fundraiser will help to ensure donors feel valued and connected to the charity's cause.

This role will primarily focus on growing and maintaining various fundraising avenues, including in memory, regular giving, facilitating legacy gifts or bequests in wills, and singular donations. The role aims to maximise opportunities for donor engagement and individual giving.

2.0 Key Tasks

• In-Memorium Fundraising Support: Assist in implementing sensitive and impactful strategies to encourage donations in memory of loved ones, ensuring memories are honoured and families and friends are supported throughout their giving journey.
• Regular Giving Support: Aid in driving the regular giving program to secure a sustainable income stream. This will involve supporting in creating tailored appeals, managing communications, and contributing to enhancing donor satisfaction and retention through regular updates and engagements.
• General Donations Assistance: Provide support in overseeing the process for general donations, maximising the ease and effectiveness of one-time and ongoing contributions. This may include assisting in campaign management, donor acknowledgment, and contributing to leveraging special events and anniversaries to inspire giving.
• Donor Relationship Support: Help build and maintain strong, personal relationships with donors through consistent, thoughtful communication and recognition strategies. Utilise CRM to track donor interactions, preferences, and history to tailor approaches and increase donor engagement.
• Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with the Relationship Manager and other teams within the charity, such as marketing, events, and volunteer management, to contribute to a cohesive and comprehensive fundraising approach.

SM 2: Execute general donation and regular giving campaigns as outlined in the work plan, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, and achieving the financial year’s budget targets. Collaborate closely with the Relationship Manager and Marketing team to develop compelling messaging and materials for these campaigns.

KR 2: Enhancing In-Memorium (IMO) Fundraising through Community Engagement

SM 1: Strengthen existing relationships and establish new partnerships with funeral directors across the community. Collaborate with them to promote IMO fundraising initiatives and ensure families receive appropriate support and guidance in honouring their loved ones through donations.

SM 2: Foster strong relationships with internal staff members, empowering them to become advocates for IMO and legacy fundraising efforts.
