About Love Barton
Love Barton is a faith based charity established in 2022 to tackle systemic issues that keep people and families in poverty and to release them to flourish in all areas of life, focused on the Barton estate on the outskirts of Oxford.
The charity originally grew from Barton Community Church and continues to operate in close partnership with this Church.
About the Role
The focus of the role is to lead Love Barton during the Charity Manager’s maternity leave, managing the existing projects detailed below, as well as working with the Trustees on fundraising.
Projects
Health & Wellbeing:
Hear4You is a listening service set up to support people in the community who are struggling emotionally. We receive referrals from our local GP surgery and people are matched with a volunteer listener for up to twelve 1-2-1 sessions.
We also run an emergency foodbank twice a week in partnership with CEF , and are in the process of setting up a pantry in partnership with Mercy in Action to support 25 struggling families with ongoing food poverty support. This will be delivered by volunteers but will need general oversight from you.
Your job would be to:

Youth:
Know Your Worth is an eight week self esteem course for teenage girls run twice a year for local young people followed by 6-12 months of mentoring. We have a small team of volunteer mentors and a trained volunteer leader who runs the course.
We are also setting up regular opportunities to gather the girls who have completed the Know Your Worth course for ongoing support.
Your job would be:

Support the Know Your Worth Leader (volunteer role) in organising and running our Know Your Worth course for teenage girls, overseeing sign ups, communications with families, safeguarding and health & safety.

Recruit, train and support volunteer mentors to ensure mentoring programme runs effectively and safely.

Develop and manage our monthly/termly sessions for those who have attended a Know Your Worth course
Flourishing Families:
In response to local need, we want to provide support for families before they reach crisis points. We do this through 1-2-1 pastoral support and the Kids Matter Parenting courses as well as hosting seasonal family events and a weekly toddler group that’s run in partnership with Barton Community Church.
Your job would be:

To provide and coordinate targeted pastoral care to individual families in need.

To organise and deliver a termly, seasonal community event ideally in partnership with other local groups and organisations
Other key tasks/responsibilities

Enable the work, relationships and partnerships of Love Barton to continue and, expand the reach, visibility and community integration of the charity

Network with other key providers and stakeholders in Barton and attend community meetings to represent Love Barton

Work with the trustees to identify funding streams to sustain the role and projects

Lead all recruitment, training and management of volunteers including ensuring safeguarding training and DBS certificates are up to date

Line-manage any sessional staff

Manage the budgets for each project, evaluating outcomes and supporting the reporting to funders and trustees

Meet regularly with the BCC leadership team to ensure a close partnership

Key Responsibilities

They should be a team player and effective delegator with operational and financial acumen and a proven track record in complex project management in educational settings.
The candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in presenting to diverse audiences. They should have strong strategic thinking abilities for successful organisational outcomes and exceptional project management skills across national programmes. You will demonstrate clear analytical skills, effective planning for operations, and the capability to supervise and support remote teams.
They will be comfortable in engaging non-direct reports and building strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, including school leaders and funding organisations.

Advance has partnered with Catch 22 to deliver services to young victims of crime in London. In recognition of the distinct challenges facing young women and girls (YWG), Advance will deliver a dedicated service to young women and girls (aged 13 to 18) who have been a victim or witness of crime. The Service Manager will lead and manage Advance’s YWG Victim Service, delivering effective management of a team of frontline Advocates, as well as collaborating with Catch 22 to ensure the Advance team and its service delivery are embedded in the wider CYP Victims Services delivered by Catch 22.

You will have experience of managing frontline staff, supporting them to follow service delivery processes and procedures to ensure effective and safe service delivery to achieve positive outcomes for young women and girls accessing the Victims and Witnesses service. You will have excellent time management skills to ensure service outcomes are monitored and reported on in a timely and effective manner. You will also have excellent communication skills that will allow you to build good working relationships with your team, the wider organisation and external delivery partners. Our expert team of canine behaviourists provide behavioural support and advice to teams within Battersea, members of the public, and the rescue organisations we work with around the world. The team design and help implement behaviour modification and training plans for dogs whilst coaching members of the canine care groups through the practical day-to-day steps. They also assist with behavioural and welfare assessments of animals who come into our centres and are on hand to help manage and provide further support with dogs with more complex behavioural needs. The team provide support to dogs during their stay at Battersea, and are also available for continued advice after rehoming.
We are now looking to recruit a Canine Behaviour and Training Advisor for our team in Old Windsor. Within this role, you will work with our operational teams in the assessment and welfare of the dogs in our care and in the provision of behavioural training and advice for staff, volunteers, customers and external organisations. You will be working as part of a care group to create behaviour modification plans, support with handling difficult dogs and make recommendations, along with the individual care group, for individual dog outcomes.

Specialist Support Workers within Look Ahead are required to have either an extra dimension of experience or a higher qualification level as determined relevant for the particular post. Specialist Support Workers provide information, social inclusion and vocational opportunities to support people to recover and stay well; exercise choice and control in their care and lives; and participate on an equal footing in the community. Support is also provided to develop a model of self-advocacy, self-management and empowerment, incorporating the principles and practice of recovery, co-production and peer support.
Oaklands & St Kilda is a pair of 6 unit supported accommodation mental health rehab services working with young people between the ages of 18-25 who may have experienced a mental health related hospital admission to gain and develop skills for future independent living. The service will support individuals transitioning from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services to Adult services.
The rota will include early shifts (08:00 - 16:00), late shifts (14:00 - 22:00), and weekends.

CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity, and we’re on a mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest. What to expect in a fundraising role?
The Fundraising Officer role is a fast-paced and rewarding role where no two weeks will look the same.
A typical day will have different meetings, priorities and team projects. Corporate and University partnerships often involve supporting several different areas of a business or university with varying content, ideas and stewardship, including hosting supporters at our learning centres. Each fundraising area meets regularly to discuss challenges, new ideas and improvements, and the broader fundraising team meets monthly to reflect on progress to date and plan for the rest of the year ahead.
This role will also involve working with colleagues at our centres across the UK to organise workshops that are hosted and/or supported by our corporate and university partners, getting to know our different teams and helping thousands of young people to access vital learning and skillset opportunities each year.

The Role
Trusts and other grant-makers are an important source of funding for our charity and the relationships we have with new and existing funders are more important than ever. This is where you come in.
As our Trusts Fundraising Officer, you’ll be an inspiring storyteller whose enthusiasm for our work shines through in your writing. You’ll play a key role in researching new funders, crafting compelling funding applications, and ensuring we meet reporting requirements for existing supporters.
Your work will involve developing impactful case studies and gathering evidence to show the need for our services to help secure sustainable funding. You’ll be supported by our experienced Trusts Fundraising Manager to build lasting relationships with funders. Together, you’ll keep them engaged and informed about the positive impact they’re making on the young people we support.
What We’re Looking For:

Outstanding communication skills – You can write clearly, persuasively and passionately. You’re confident speaking to others about the charity’s work.

Writing experience – You have experience writing successful funding applications, proposals, or compelling articles, ideally but not necessarily with a fundraising focus

Fundraising experience - You may not have written a grant application before but you should have some paid or voluntary experience in a fundraising capacity.

Attention to detail – You take pride in your work, have a good eye for detail and a thorough approach.

Self-motivation and organisation – You’re able to manage your own time and prioritise effectively.

Passion for the outdoors and youth development – You understand the importance of giving vulnerable young people outdoor experiences and are willing to put on your waterproofs and join in on our activities and camps to witness first-hand the difference the Youth Adventure Trust makes.

Willingness to learn - if you think you have what it takes but don’t have lots of experience as a Trusts Fundraiser, this role comes with plenty of scope to develop your writing skills and gain experience within a supportive team environment.
