User Voice exists to reduce reoffending and improve rehabilitation by working with those who are often not heard. One of the main ways that we do this is through our council model, which allows those currently in prison, or on licence, to have their say and contribute ideas and solutions to benefit everyone. We know that if people with convictions are motivated to give feedback on their experience of services, it fuels a culture of continuous improvement within the criminal justice system and gives people a sense of purpose.
The past year has been a period of change and reflection for User Voice. As Chief Executive, you will have the opportunity to develop a new strategy that seeks to capitalise on the opportunities that are available to us, while ensuring that we have a diverse and sustainable, long-term funding model. When User Voice first began, lived experience was on the periphery of the criminal justice sector. Now, there are numerous organisations that utilise lived experience in their practice. However, they do not do so to the extent that we do. As our new Chief Executive, you must be energised to push User Voice to where it belongs – the forefront of the sector.
We are looking for a leader who has a genuine desire to see real change for individuals, institutions and the criminal justice system as a whole. You will bring sharp strategic thinking and an enterprising mindset, with the ability to spot new opportunities for us to have an even greater impact, combined with an authentic and inspiring management style that brings the whole team with you on that journey. A natural ambassador and external advocate, you will also be enthusiastic about partnerships and able to ensure that User Voice, as a small charity, has a powerful and credible voice externally.
The journey won’t always be easy, and so you will need to be resilient; though you will have an excellent team behind you that is rich with lived experience. And you will also be supported by a committed Board of Trustees, who are all passionate about what we do and who have the enthusiasm to be different and step outside our comfort zone.

About the role
The Ambassador and Media Relations Manager is key to amplifying the work of Help Musicians and its sister charity, Music Minds Matter, through external communications.
This role will grow our audiences by aligning high-profile voices with our marketing campaigns, press opportunities and communications strategies, consistently increasing the reach of the two charities. It also supports the understanding of our work by identifying media opportunities to tell our stories through opinion editorials, awards submissions features, and press releases in collaboration with our agency.
The Ambassador and Media Relations Manager will engage with influential voices who align with our cause, work and messaging and amplify our stories through the media and our owned channels. Strong interpersonal skills are essential to keep our ambassadors informed and engaged in our work as well as identifying and onboarding new voices who can champion our cause and grow our audience.

As a skilled communicator, you will have a strong background in media relations, including pitching stories to journalists, crafting press releases, and preparing briefings for both media and staff. You will have worked closely with musicians and/or industry leaders, building strong relationships through interpersonal skills.

About the Role
The Head of Unlawful Detentions is responsible for overseeing Reprieve’s work on unlawful detentions, which comprises detention cases in North East Syria (NES), advocacy work with families of detainees in NES, support to those repatriated from NES, and our Guantánamo and Life after Guantánamo Projects.
Background on Unlawful Detentions Work
Reprieve was one of the very first organisations allowed inside Guantánamo. Since then, we have secured freedom for more than 80 men illegally detained without charge or trial, and we continue to support some of these men through our Life After Guantánamo project.
Reprieve also advocates for the release and repatriation of foreign nationals detained in camps and prisons in NES. We aim to ensure that detained individuals are treated in line with international law, and not subjected to the death penalty, extrajudicial execution, arbitrary detention, torture, or rendition. We also advocate for and support clients and their children after their release from arbitrary detention.
Through our work we aim to challenge and change flawed ‘War on Terror’ narratives and legal and political frameworks – including in the UK, Europe and the US – that engender state-sanctioned discrimination and abuse, undermine the rule of law and human rights, and create two-tiered layers of citizenship rights for ethnic minorities in Western countries.
About You
You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies using a dynamic approach in which each of Reprieve’s methodologies—casework, investigation, litigation, political and public engagement, support for and (where possible and appropriate) advocacy with affected communities—connect with one another to achieve positive outcomes in individual client’s cases and address structural rights violations.
You will be enthusiastic about working for an organisation with Reprieve's mission and vision. You will have a minimum of five years’ experience line managing busy and diverse teams. You have significant legal and casework experience and experience managing a complex portfolio of cases. You will also have substantial advocacy experience, an understanding of campaigning, strong writing skills, and excellent attention to detail.
You are a person with a high level of cultural competency, with direct lived or working experience with communities impacted by the so-called ‘War on Terror’ and/or relevant conflicts. Salary, contract and location
The role is a full-time, permanent position with a salary of £59,226 per annum less any required deductions for tax and national insurance. Reprieve works across a number of jurisdictions; as such this is a role that may require work outside of core hours from time to time.

Essential:

FearFree delivers services across the Southwest for victims and perpetrators of domestic abuse and victims of sexual violence. We provide responsive, victim focused, and trauma informed support and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders, and partners experience this in our daily delivery.
The aim of the Interpersonal Trauma Service is to improve the health, wellbeing and safety of people who have been exposed to trauma arising from sexual violence and abuse and/or domestic abuse.
Following a successful trial in several surgeries, this service is now being rolled out across Devon, Plymouth, and Torbay. So, this is a very exciting opportunity to take ownership and be part of an innovative new service, delivering real improvements to the local community.
You will work across a specified number of GP practices, to offer support to health professionals working in practices, people who have experience of interpersonal trauma arising from sexual violence and abuse and/or domestic abuse, as well as a service for people at risk of perpetrating abuse.
You and the team will provide training to GP surgeries to improve identification, enquiry, and response for patients. You and your team will also support adults and children who have been impacted by interpersonal trauma with emotional and practical support, focusing on trauma stabilisation. The team will be responsible for facilitating timely access to further appropriate support services where needed.
Key responsibilities:
· To provide specialist, individual and needs-led domestic violence/ abuse (DVA) and sexual violence (SV) advocacy and support to patients who are or have experienced DVA/SV, who are referred from participating practices or self-refer, and to provide onward referrals where appropriate.
· To provide signposting and onward referrals to patients who are affected by DVA/SV.
· Build and maintain effective relationships with general practice teams.
· To provide ongoing specialist advice and support around DVA and SV to practice teams.
· To encourage general practice health professionals to ask patients about their experience of abuse and respond, record, safety check and refer.
· To provide feedback on case outcomes to referring clinicians.
· To collect and collate performance and monitoring data for reporting purposes.
· Provide in-house training & refresher training for general practice teams on understanding, recognising, and responding to domestic violence and abuse (DVA) and sexual violence (SV).
2. Advocacy and support work
· Provide support to increase people’s personal safety, and that of any children, and inform them of their rights and options in terms of housing, legal and welfare rights.
· Provide direct assessment, casework support, advice, information, and advocacy through telephone contact, and/or meetings at the relevant practice.
· Develop good working relationships and liaise with outside agencies where needed.
· Keep accurate records of all referrals received and of work done with or on behalf of service users.
3. Practice-based work
· Arrange dates for refresher training sessions with practices.
· Deliver DVA and SV training to clinicians and non-clinical staff in participating general practices.
· Promote awareness of the experiences and needs of people affected by DVA and SV, particularly in relation to their health.
· Develop a good relationship with all general practice staff and work effectively as part of the practice team.
4. General
· Attend and participate in required meetings.
· Contribute to monitoring and evaluation of the programme collecting required data and producing written reports as requested.

About the role:
The Criminal Justice IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy, and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process, specialising in working with women whose domestic abuse cases are going through the police and criminal justice system and risk to children is a factor. You will work to make proactive contact and provide high quality advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women, focusing on working with those aged 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. This role is part advocacy, part training/education and project work to improve response and early intervention to victim/survivors experiencing domestic abuse. You will be embedded in the community safety unit within the police, working with police professionals to ensure they adopt a trauma informed approach, can recognise the dynamics of domestic abuse and are providing more holistic support. You will be the domestic abuse subject matter expert on site, upskilling fellow professionals and acting as a point of contact for any clients experiencing domestic abuse and support requirements from police and court at every stage. Attend the weekly specialist domestic violence court in Westminster as a domestic abuse agency representative to obtain court outcomes, support efficient case progression and seeking opportunity to increase survivor safety at every stage of the court process.
The IMPACT project was established over 10 years ago and has been working in partnership in Hammersmith and Fulham aiming to improve integrated working between criminal justice agencies from the point of reporting an incident to court and beyond; to reduce attrition through earlier intervention and improved outcomes for victims/survivors and their children; and to hold more perpetrators to account through the justice system. The IDVAs will inherit strong working relationships and a commitment from all parties to offering more trauma-informed services. The borough has a focus on prioritising and developing good DA work in and this is an opportunity to be a major player in institutional change, ensuring that women accessing Family Children services for their children have an improved experience and that the local authorities are leading the way for all survivors engaging with their services.
Advance delivers nationally accredited, quality marked services in Hammersmith & Fulham, Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea, Brent, Ealing, and across parts of East London. We work within a coordinated partnership response to domestic violence to provide independent domestic violence advocacy and support for women, children and young people and women’s community services for women who are involved in the criminal justice system, in anti-social behaviour or are at risk of breaking the law.

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Peer Support Worker to join our team in the Camden Crisis Teams. The Associate Solicitor will lead our legal team in Britain and oversee our cases in England and Wales.
The role requires a qualified solicitor with experience of running litigious cases. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise legal advice on complex issues in a comprehensible and appropriate format.

An ability to engage with the law critically and develop strategies that serve broader political objectives. Track record of collaborating well with other lawyers, academics and civil society organisations.

Excellent client care skills, particularly in relation to vulnerable or marginalised clients.

Experience in a role which requires coordination of multiple projects and/or workstreams concurrently, and the ability to manage relationships with partner organisations, coalitions and counsel.

High level of English-language proficiency.

Commitment to the Palestinian liberation and solidarity movement.
Desirable experience, skills and knowledge

Dual-qualified in Scotland and/or Northern Ireland.

Ideal candidate will already have LAA Supervisor status or meet the requirements to do so

Experience working with campaigning and advocacy organisations.

Understanding of and experience working with a variety of local, national, and international jurisdictions, including those governed by common law or civil law.
