Parkinson’s UK works with health and social care professionals to transform Parkinson’s services across the UK.
We do this through the Parkinson’s Excellence Network (PEN), a network of around 6,000 health and care professionals with a shared vision: to build an expert Parkinson’s workforce and improve health and care services for people with Parkinson’s.
We bring together and support health and care professionals to share best practice, network and collaborate, share resources and education, and drive improvements to services for people with Parkinson’s and their loved ones.
We currently have two vacancies for Parkinson’s specialist nurses on the national Clinical Leadership Team.
What will be expected of you in this role
You'll:
- Provide strategic guidance to the Parkinson’s UK team through the monthly
- Parkinson’s Excellence Network Steering Group.
- Bring your expertise as a Parkinson’s specialist nurse, acting as a source of expert
- clinical advice for Parkinson’s UK teams.
- Drive engagement and participation with the Excellence Network.
- Inspire, challenge and collaborate with the health and social care professional community to drive significant improvements to Parkinson’s services.
- Act as a professional ambassador for the Excellence Network.
- Attend the annual in-person PEN National and Regional Clinical Leads meeting.
- Support the PEN national calendar of events through attendance or promotion. This includes Excellence Hub meetings and other activities centred around our national priorities.
- Join relevant governance groups, including the UK Parkinson’s Audit Governance Board.
- Act as a clinical media spokesperson for Parkinson’s UK on occasion (optional; training will be provided if required).

- Be an experienced UK-based Parkinson’s specialist nurse with exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Have a good understanding of the landscape of health and social care delivery, education and workforce development to support the strategic aims and objectives of Parkinson’s UK.

You'll:
- Be formally welcomed and introduced to the Excellence Network and your role
- Be provided with an introduction pack so that you can gain an understanding of where your role fits in.
- Meet with the Professional Engagement Lead or Associate Director of Policy & Health Strategy after 6 months in the role for a review meeting and then annually thereafter (or more frequently if required).
- Be provided with a set of resources and information to support you in your role eg. aready made presentation on the PEN.
- Be invited to an annual event for the National and Regional Clinical Leads, to provide updates, training and opportunities for discussion.
A bit more about the opportunity
Time commitment will be 0.5 days per week (1 programmed activity) to be worked flexibly across the month.
Monthly rate will be based on skills and experience.
Term of consultancy services will be set tenure of 3 years from date of appointment, with an option to extend once for a further 3 years.
We will also ask you/your employer to send across a monthly/quarterly invoice to the Professional Engagement Team at Parkinson’s UK and include a short paragraph outlining what you’ve done in the role each month. We can provide an example of this.

Location: Newcastle or Birmingham preferable - Our L&D team are based out of our Newcastle and Birmingham offices. We have a hybrid approach to working, work pattern and location will be agreed with the successful candidate. This is a brand new, but vital role as we are only able to continue hosting if guests are provided with ways to move on from their temporary hosting placements. As advice services, housing and support providers are increasingly overwhelmed, we plan to offer our own support for our guests.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
·Build a relationship via phone, email and online calls with hosted guests to help them progress their move on options.You will sometimes use an interpreter for these calls.
·Advising guests of their rights to statutory or private rented accommodation.
·Working with guests to apply to housing providers, asylum or MSVCC accommodation when entitled.
·Signposting to other sources of support for guests.
·Ensure Hosting Coordinators and external guest support workers are fully informed of interactions and plans.

Support Coordinator
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team in Stoke and North Staffordshire. We’re looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and well organised individual to join us in delivering a comprehensive Stroke Recovery Service across the region.
Position: S11199 Stroke Association Support Coordinator
Location: Home-based, Stoke and North Staffordshire. Extensive travel will be required as part of this role (travel will also include team meetings or other work related meetings)
Hours: Part-time, 25 hours per week (flexible working available)
Salary: Circa £19,099 per annum (FTE circa £26,700 per annum)
Contract: This is a fixed-term contract under 31 March 2025. Our services are contracted, we currently have funding for this contract until 31 March 2025.

The Role
Reporting to the Stroke Association Service Delivery Coach, the coordinator will work with the local Health and Social Care services to receive referrals and support stroke survivors and their carers. As a coordinator you will provide personalised information, advice and support with regular reviews throughout.
Key responsibilities will include:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Programme Coordination and Project Delivery
- To work closely with the Director of Strategy and Programmes to coordinate and support the delivery of all our programmes to achieve the outputs and outcomes agreed with our funders.
- To support with event management both online and face to face including providing technical support to participants on platforms for online training, including driving all courses hosted on Zoom, and providing excellent customer service to all engaging with our work.
- To support evaluations through providing and analysing data to use in reporting to funders and stakeholders.
- To lead on programme administration and funder updates, including tracking key data on platforms including Arts Council Annual Survey, Julie’s Bicycle, Illuminate and Salesforce.
- To support with the administration of programme activity by attending and writing minutes for key meetings, drawing up programme contracts, aiding with diary management, filing, liaising with key personnel, and conducting phone or zoom conversations as needed.
- To support with the financial administration of our programmes through invoicing and managing participant expenses.
- To take part in training and attending any networking events as required, including potential out-of-hours events such as our 3-day residentials, to represent Cause4 externally when required.
- To contribute to Cause4’s overall business development when required, and being pro-active in terms of personal development, working alongside the line-manager to build key objectives for growth within Cause4.
Marketing and Communications
- To oversee and manage the day-to-day communications of our programmes, including managing our dedicated programme inboxes, liaising with participants, trainers and partners as needed.
- To set-up and publicise key events, projects and training opportunities on all programme websites and relevant platforms, including Eventbrite.
- To support the Programmes team to achieve public-facing training sales targets for our programmes through implementation of the marketing plan.
- To support with communications and marketing by curating social media content (SmarterQueue), programme newsletters (Mailchimp), graphics (Canva), and blogs.
- To support updating the website on a regular basis with support from the web designer and to be a coordinating lead and contributor in writing for key publications such as the digital Now, New and Next publication.
- To research and develop our audiences and networks, in line with our priority areas, regularly updating our databased to ensure key contacts are in place.
- To lead on the analytics of our marketing data, collating vital information from SmarterQueue, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google Analytics.
This is a remote (home) working role, with opportunities to meet with the Cause4 team at regular events throughout the year in London, Cambridge, and other locations.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
To deliver the role, we’d expect you to have the following skills and experience:
- Some existing project management experience in the arts, heritage or culture sectors, or an equivalent role where your skills can be transferred to the above responsibilities.

About the team
Our Strategy Enablement directorate brings together five core enabling support functions - Finance, Tech & Data, Governance, Planning and Property and HR Delivery, where this particular role sits. The HR Delivery team partners and supports a wide range of organisational activities and provides advice and guidance to over 1,200 staff on a range of employee relations issues like employee engagement, recruitment and selection, reward, and recognition etc. We also manage payroll processes, ensure HR policies and procedures are developed and updated and play our part in organisational change projects and transfers. About the role
As a Resourcing & Talent Specialist, you’ll be responsible for supporting and delivering against our people sourcing strategy to reduce cost per hire and build our employment brand. Who you are: We are looking for dedicated, adaptable and empathic people with a background in providing high-quality emotional support and advocacy. Experience gained in the following kinds of roles tends to transfer well to the role of caseworker at Brake: police force, roles within the criminal justice system, family liaison officer, counsellor, experience in health and social care or previous caseworker experience in any area.
Specifically seeking candidates that have:

The Role
Reporting to the Compliance Lead, the Data Protection Adviser will drive the development of an improved Compliance culture throughout the charity whilst ensuring that we adhere to all relevant regulations and laws. Key responsibilities will include:
· Acting as a knowledge expert on compliance and promoting a culture of compliance within the charity in relation to data protection, fundraising and the provision of support services, by the provision of advice, guidance, internal communications and training.

· Project managing a number of key actions from an external review of the organisation’s Data Protection practices.
· Assist the Compliance Lead and Associate Director of Legal and Governance in producing ad hoc and annual compliance reports along with any annual submissions to regulators, 3rd parties or external bodies.

Job Vacancy – Regional Adviser
The Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF) is looking for an experienced, proactive and customer focused adviser to support the work of the wider Advice and Support team
The post holder will be responsible for the Midlands area plus other areas as required with an expectation of completing in person visits across the allocated counties. About the Masonic Charitable Foundation
The Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF) is one of the UK’s leading charities, providing a range of benevolent support to individuals and awarding grants to local and national charities.

Our Regional Advisers are home-based workers who are compassionate and dedicated to responding to the needs of Freemasons and their dependents in their area, providing essential support. The charity works across England, Wales and Northern Ireland and supports people through one of the most painful times in life, providing support and guidance. This is a permanent position, predominantly based remotely with occasional travel.
Working closely with the Director of Finance and Corporate Services, the role is responsible for managing the finance function and developing a culture of providing financial help and support across the charity. Responsibilities include day to day management of the finance function, overseeing and motivating a staff team of 5. You will prepare and develop management reporting, including monthly management accounts and restricted fund accounts, ensure monthly balance sheet reconciliations, prepare budgets, and manage the year end accounts and audit process including drafting charity SORP financial statements. Other responsibilities include developing strong business partnering with budget holders, developing a costing model to support funding applications, managing payroll and pensions, and ensuring VAT returns are prepared and submitted on time. You will also take the lead on process improvements, where appropriate to ensure efficient and effective running of the finance team and it’s support to the wider organisation.
The successful candidate will have significant experience of managing finance functions within the charity sector, with an excellent understanding of SORP and charity compliance. You will be either fully qualified or qualified by experience and will have demonstrable experience of managing and motivating finance teams effectively and be accomplished at building relationships, driving the team towards more effective business partnering with the wider organisation. You will demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage clearly with both finance and non finance colleagues. You will be a hands on manager with experience of working both operationally and strategically.

Purpose of the role

- To manage all CLS invoicing ensuring data from contracts is transferred to an invoice and ensuring invoices are logged within the database.
- Collect data in relation to attendance across the CLS sites at Network wide events and workshops and provide regular reports to Network members and CLS team members as required.
- Attend large gatherings in person, lead the setting up and liaison with the venue and provide the welcome and any support to participants to ensure they get the most out of the experience.

We have exciting opportunities within our new Volunteer Experience Team to recruit new Volunteer Experience Coordinators as part of our 3-year sustainability plan in which we aim to expand and empower our network of volunteers delivering services to people with arthritis.
Our new Volunteer Experience Team is based within our People and Culture Directorate which delivers all our people related services across the Charity. We work together to ensure that Versus Arthritis is a great place to work and volunteer and that everyone feels, engaged, motivated, supported, valued and included and able to do their best for people with arthritis.
About the role
Our Volunteer Experience Coordinators provide best practice guidance at a local level to Versus Arthritis volunteers. Over the next three years you’ll be supporting the growth and diversification of our volunteer force and introducing new sustainable products (including digital) and processes to support them.
In this role, you will focus on empowering our volunteers by ensuring they receive a high-quality experience through forging relationships with them and ensuring they have what they need to carry out their volunteer roles. For example, you’ll be triaging queries, inducting and supporting new volunteers, delivering workshops particularly around digital awareness and competency, and encouraging networking between volunteers.

Our Services and Influencing Directorate is a supportive team, passionate about providing high-quality services to people with arthritis, helping people to take greater control of their condition and to make positive, informed choices to live well with arthritis.
We are looking to develop our services in the North West of England to be able to offer services to people living with arthritis and chronic pain.
About the role
The service offers peer-led self-management and physical activity courses both within communities and online. Courses are designed to support people to develop the confidence, knowledge, and skills to live well with their condition.
You will help us to develop and pilot services for young people transitioning from our Young People and families service to adult services.
You will help us to ensure our services reach diverse communities in the North West, by co-producing resources and testing ways of working.
You will co-ordinate all aspects of the Versus Arthritis service, including recruiting volunteers, course promotion and building relationships in the community. You will be responsible for supporting volunteers to deliver services, as well as monitoring and evaluation so that we can effectively demonstrate the impact the service is making.

To be successful in the role, you will be committed to the Versus Arthritis values and behaviours as well as having:
- Experience of delivering services within the voluntary sector.
- Experience of supporting volunteers.
- Experience of building and maintaining relationships with local organisations and stakeholders, to develop effective partnerships.
- Experience of service monitoring, evaluation and delivering reports to meet targets.
- Strong communication skills – both written and verbal, and experience of presenting in front of groups of people.
- Strong administrative and IT skills – including Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work effectively.
